Chapter 7
“Holy crap, holy crap. Oh my god what is happening?” Sasuke paced his room as the intruder wandered about his aunt’s apartment. Time had passed several hours, and the man never left, even after Sasuke shouted and cursed at him. The glowing man with pupilless orange eyes continued to investigate all the appliances and cabinets, ignoring the 17-year-old highschooler. He seemed to be marveling at their possessions. Sasuke caught him mumbling quietly to himself from time to time.
When it was nearly 4 a.m. Sasuke haphazardly entered the living room where the man was unplugging and plugging back in the T.V.
“What are you doing here? Who are you?”
The glowing man made eye contact with Sasuke, “I am sorry, you didn’t summon me. I don’t waste my time on irrelevant nuisances.” Sasuke’s back stiffened from the insult, “You are in my home! How did you get here?”
The man scoffed, “I was summoned – obviously.”
Now red and hot in the face, Sasuke scowled. “Well, then maybe I did summon you! Would you tell me who you are now?”
The man turned quickly to face Sasuke, his orange glare sparkled with curiosity, “I am Kurama. Kitsune of the northern realm and protector of the Uchiha clan.”
The words only graced Sasuke’s ears, his mind drowning from confusion. Kurama noted Sasuke’s blank stare and sighed before asking, “I am not in Japan anymore it seems, unless much time has passed. Tell me, what is the year?”
Perplexed by his question, Sasuke responded with a slight hitch, “Twenty-twenty two. We are in Michigan.”
Kurama pursed his lips, “It has been some time indeed. Tell me, what are these… devices?” He motioned around the T.V. and what Sasuke presumed were their kitchen appliances.
Sasuke felt a massive headache come on as he thought to himself, I am losing my mind.
“I- I cant do this right now.” Sasuke shirked back to his room. Kurama stood to see him go and he bowed regally. “You will see me tomorrow.”
“I hope not,” Sasuke grumbled to himself as he shut his bedroom door behind him.
