Naruto looked between Sasuke and Sakura. Ever since Sasuke came back from traveling he couldn’t help but notice that the two seemed all buddy buddy. In fact it was kinda romantic…
He hadn’t been the only person to notice this development so of course as the intelligent being he is he gathered the people close to Sasuke and Sakura to chat.
“Guys!” He exclaimed. The 4 other people stared at him questioningly. “Why are we here?” Sai asked. Naruto then crossed his arms frowning, “Does anyone know what’s up with Sakura-chan and Sasuke-teme?!” He announced.
The gossip loving Ino perked up immediately and she placed a hand on her hip. “I’ve been thinking about that too! Like as soon as he entered the village they became so close!” She exclaimed.
Kakashi sighed, mumbling something about how he was curious too. Hinata blushed slightly before patting her boyfriend’s shoulder, “This isn’t our business Naruto-kun…”
Naruto shook his head but paid mind to be gentle with his Hyuga girlfriend, “Sorry Hinata but this is my business! Sakura and Sasuke are like my sister and brother so if they’re…” He gulped, “Dating or something I think I have the right to know!”
Ino nodded her head in agreement, “Yea I’m her best friend and I feel like she’s been keeping something a secret!” Kakashi closed his orange book, “Well I mean if they were dating I wouldn’t be surprised.” He mumbled.
Naruto looked shocked, “Kakashi-sensei, how could you say that?!” He demanded. Kakashi shrugged, “Well before our beloved Uchiha left the village did you see how he acted with Sakura?! He was always secretly blushing around her, protecting her on missions, and he always could tell what she was thinking!” He exclaimed, waving his hands around.
Naruto nodded his head and crossed his arms. “I guess you’re right…” Sai nodded his head, “Also remember when we met Sasuke in Orochimaru's hideout?” He asked. Naruto rolled his eyes, “Of course I do!”
“Well the body language of Sasuke and Sakura conveyed sexual interest towards each other… Also I swear when they looked into each other's eyes they were talking to each other telepathically… It was weird…”
Naruto choked coughing violently as Hinata patted his back. Once Naruto recovered he spoke again, “Oh yeah I forgot to mention why do they always have eyesmex?!” He cried.
Kakashi made a tut sound before handing Naruto the orange book, “This book might help you understand their behavior. After all, you're old enough now!”
Naruto shrieked before jumping away, Hinata’s face turned red, Ino started cackling, and Sai took the book. “Hm… Maybe I could use this..?” Sai muttered, earning him a glare from Naruto who grabbed the book and used rasengan on it. This caused Kakashi to gasp and fall to the ground before starting to cry.
“Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!” He screamed in agony grabbing the broken book trying to put it back together while tears streamed down his face, “Don’t worry baby I’ll fix you!”
Suddenly footsteps could be heard and low and behold Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke were standing side by side glaring at the five of them. “What’s going on here?!” Sakura demanded.
Naruto panicked. He was not going to fly through the village again! “I- um… We were just- uh…” He stammered. “We were discussing the relationship between you and Sasuke!” He exclaimed.
Sakura looked angry turning towards Naruto but Hinata rushed beside him, “Sakura-san please don’t!” She cried and Sakura sighed before crossing her arms. “Alright…”
Ino joined the fray before pointing an accusing finger at her best friend. “Okay yea seriously forehead! As some of your closest friends we’d like to know why you and Sasuke are acting like newlyweds!” She screeched.
Sakura shocked her head, “Seriously guys there’s nothing-” She was interrupted when Sasuke wrapped an arm around her waist causing their five friends to gasp, “Sakura I think we can tell them…”
Sakura looked at him before fidgeting with her fingers, “If you say so Sasuke-kun…” She paused before smiling. “Me and Sasuke-kun have been dating since after the land of waves!” She exclaimed.
Everyone around them went silent looking at the pair in shock. Ino grabbed Sai’s hand and started walking away. “I-I… I need to rethink my life…” She whispered in disbelief dragging her boyfriend elsewhere.
Hinata awkwardly looked around. “I owe Shino $1000…” She mumbled before running to go find him. Only Naruto and Kakashi remained and Naruto fell to his knees.
“What the fuck…” He whispered before staring at his teammates. “HOW THE FUCK DID I NOT NOTICE?!” He cried. Kakashi shook his head.
“All the signs… I was able to read my little genin so easily but I couldn’t notice they were dating…” His tone carried dread. “I’m a disappointment of a sensei…” Sakura rolled her eyes. “You weren’t a good sensei, maybe a father figure but that’s it.”
Naruto pointed at them. “So you’re telling me from age 13 to 19 I was in love with a taken woman?!” He shouted. Sakura smiled sheepishly. “Sorry..?” Sasuke just sneered at Naruto, “Now do you wonder why I was always mad at you, loser?”
Naruto curled into a fetal position. “My whole life is a lie..!” He immediately sprang up. “Okay but I have so many questions!”
As if they could read his mind Sakura put a gloved finger to his lips before going on a ramble.
I was in my room when Sasuke knocked on the window. At first I was confused on how he got my address but I ignored it.
“Teme you stalker!” Naruto screeched, earning him a famous Uchiha glare from Sasuke.
I opened the window and when he came in he held my hand and I swear it was so romantic! He then looked deep into my eyes before saying, “Sakura I think I’m in love with you but I’m not too sure about my feelings. I want to be in a relationship with you but it doesn’t have to be too serious.” Obviously being twelve years old me I accepted and hugged him bouncing excitedly.
Kakashi snickered. “I didn’t think you were so romantic Sasuke.” Sasuke’s ears turned red. Naruto’s mouth opened and closed a few times before he finally managed to talk, “Why didn’t you two tell us..?” Sakura smiled while holding Sasuke’s hand, “Well we were still trying to figure everything out and Sasuke-kun’s a little shy…”
After Sasuke left the village we still visited each other 1-3 times a month. Occasionally I’d ask him to come back but he’d say “Only after my mission is completed.”
We had a way of talking to each other through our eyes if that makes sense so whenever we saw each other with each other’s team we’d only act.
When me and Sasuke tried killing each other in the land of iron we were still dating and I had no clue why he wanted to destroy Konoha. A while after that we met up and he explained the Uchiha massacre to me and that we could still be lovers and just ignore each other’s goals.
Then the war happened and when he put me under the genjutsu it was actually just him explaining how he felt about me but to everyone else it seemed like a genjutsu where he impaled me through the stomach with his hand.
During his journey of redemption we exchanged letters and once a month we’d meet up together at night.
Naruto and Kakashi stared at the two dumbfounded. “So like are you two getting married..?” Sakura nodded her head happily, “He proposed to me before he went on his journey and we just haven’t planned it yet!”
The two people nodded their heads trying to wrap their heads around the situation. Sakura waved at them, “Me and Sasuke-kun have a reservation at this tomato restaurant! See you later!”
She started walking away and Sasuke turned to them with a smug smirk, “You guys don’t seem to know Sakura as well as you thought you did huh..?” He whispered before chuckling and walking beside Sakura to hold her hand.
Naruto collapsed on the floor and Kakashi shook his head, “Man this would make an amazing Icha Tactics plot…”
