Chapter 3
Opeli enters Ezran's room and finds him standing in front of the window and staring out of it. She waits a few moments to see if he notices her and when he doesn't she calls his name.
"King Ezran." He doesn't answer so she calls a bit louder. "King Ezran."
"Huh? Opeli? What is it?"
"What are you thinking about?"
He takes a breath and says, "My father... What... what can this mean? Is he... alive?"
"We don't know anything for sure until Soren, Corvus and Terry come back."
"Yes, I know but... I'm just worried..."
"Why?"
"I just... I hope they find him. I hope he's okay..."
Opeli nods.
"So, did you want to tell me something?"
"Yes, um, Barius would like you to try out his new recipe."
Ezran smiles and says, "I'd love to."
-----
Amaya enters her and Janai's room to see Janai smiling and looking at some paintings. She smiles at her and signs, "You look very cheerful today!"
"Of course I am. Our people are happy and there's a bright future ahead of us. A future filled with peace. We're preparing ourselves for Aaravos' return and we'll be ready to face him."
Amaya smiles and signs, "True, a brighter future for our people."
Just then, Janai hears a knock on the door. She opens it up to a Sunfire Elf named Elako.
"Queen Janai, I would like to have a word with you and Queen Amaya."
-----
"Soren, what are you doing?" asks Corvus, annoyed.
"Trying to make a doll out of mud."
"What?"
"Yeah, I'm bored. How long are we supposed to wait for another Xadian Songbird to show up?"
Terry comes and says, "Maybe that's enough for today. It's almost sundown. It's best if we gather a fire, eat something and get ourselves some rest."
"I agree. We'll continue searching tomorrow." says Corvus.
-----
"You make the best recipes ever, Barius!"
"Oh, thank you, King Ezran."
Ezran smiles and continues eating. Yawning, he says "Alright, good night Barius! Hopefully Soren, Corvus and Terry will be back tomorrow."
The smile on Barius' face fades a bit and he says, "King Ezran, I just wanted to say... don't keep your hopes up."
Ezran furrows his eyebrows.
"Because, it will take a lot of time to find one bird and we don't know if it'll be possible to find him. So, I don't want to see you sad or angry that they weren't able to bring the bird with King Harrow's soul in it."
"I understand." He says and leaves.
