Day Of The Demon
Luke: Hello everyone I'm Luke!
Lelouch: And I'm Lelouch you might wanna buckle and grab some popcorn because we're here to bring you the next chapter of Star Geass.
Luke: Normally RGGAM would do this but let's just say he's a little tied up.
*The scene shows to a closet banging back and fourth. with RGGAM yelling. "LET ME OUT!"*
Lelouch: Some of the story parts will italic words on them like this which will be for raidio chatter and for com-links while bold will be for holograms now on with the show!
Han, Chewie, Leia and Luke got to work on trying to fix the Falcon after their daring escape from the so called “Britannia”. Han was coughing as smoke bellowed over his face while he was trying to fix a conductor. Leia walked over with a towel in her hands as she gave it to Han “What’s the word Han?”
Han swiped at the smoke around his face and said “Do you want the good news or the bad news, your highness?”
Leia smirked at him and replied “Either one, it doesn’t matter!”
Han nodded and set out to explain the situation they were currently in. “Well the good thing is we still have communications, and we can read signals on this planet .However the bad news is the ship's engine is completely fried. So unless we can find a good repair man on this planet to fix her up, we’re not getting off this planet anytime soon..”
Chewie moaned loudly and sadly. Han then said to his co pilot “Chewie come on,it’s gonna be okay!”
Threepio then said “Oh dear. Oh Dear. The ship is reporting it is badly damaged and it’s only a matter of time before our ships fuel-”
Han exclaimed tiredly “Goldenrod chill, it's not that bad!”
Artoo beeped, Threepio nodded and said “You're quite right R2 it could have been much worse. Thank the maker, this planet has signs of civilization at least!”
Leia rolls her eyes saying “Yeah a civilization that had zero problem trying to shoot us down last night.”
Han then said cheekily with a smirk, “Isn’t that our kind of galaxy princess?”
Luke walked out and leaned against the wall, “You think this place is associated with the Empire since they are known as the Holy Empire of Britannia…”
Leia then said “Unlikely, Luke. If they were, they would have known who we were. They would have been alerted. Luckily, it didn't sound like they knew who or what we were. I think that they haven’t ever even seen this planet. We could make this planet our new base of operations for the Alliance!”
Han nodded and said “Yeah we did just light-sped ourselves into another galaxy somewhere far far away from Imperial rule. So that’s the positive karma but the bad karma..”
Luke nodded and said “We need new parts for the Falcon to fly again?” Chewie roared in agreement
Han then said “You're lucky Chewie and I have fixed the falcon in worse shape. After all, the Falcon’s one hell of a ship…”
Luke spoke out loud, getting an idea “Han. If there’s at least something we learned from our friends from last night.” As he used air quotes on the word "friends"
“They could have tech and parts we can use to fix the Millenium Falcon up like new..”
Leia nodded, liking this idea “Luke could be onto something. Maybe if we can find the parts we need we can fix the ship. I’m thinking we might need a quick getaway.”
Han responded to their plan sarcastically “Oh joy! So we’re just gonna waltz into town..”
Leia shot him a fierce look, then said “You know this isn’t the first time we have done this. and if they’re not connected to the Galactic Empire then we won’t have to worry about being wanted criminals by this called Britannia…”
Han sighed in defeat and said “Okay Chewie and I will stay to check on what new parts we might need for the Falcon while you guys go scout this new world!”
Chewie roars in agreement at Luke and Leia. Luke and Leia walked away from the Falcon, leaving the pilots to repair what they could. Luke nodded and they parted ways. Leia motioned to the two droids to come with her as they split up as the team split into two teams.
Elsewhere
Earth – Area 11 (formerly known as Japan)
The Tokyo Settlement was the capital of the Britannian-occupied nation. From an aerial view the entire settlement almost seemed like a normal city. Aside from the fact that it was stolen from Japan and rebuilt to serve the empire. Despite the defeat almost a decade prior, there was still plenty of resistance, people fighting the oppressive forces.
One such form of resistance was a truck and her occupants driving along a bridge-road in the settlement with a Britannian law enforcement air-craft tracking them.
" This is Alpha-3. Target is travelling from Delta-12 to Delta-14 at a speed of 80 kilometres an hour."
" C.C.P to all mobile units, declaring a Code-3 from floor-5 to floor-2."
" All units, take 2-8-8, I want the target intact."
As this was occurring; an elderly man sat across from what appeared to be a Britannian nobleman at a game of chess with several bodyguards around him. A television along the side was displaying a newscast.
" Here's video footage of yesterday's terrorist bombings in Osaka. The secretary reported 59 casualties in this incident: 8 Britannians and 51 others"
The timer went off as a guard turned off the TV via remote. "You're out of time." He said to the elderly man. "From here-on you will make your moves every 20 seconds."
The nobleman sat with a smug look on his face, filing his nails with a rather long silver expensive nail file. "Very well I'm game!"
The old man looked as though he was about to have a panic attack when the door opened behind him. The nobleman maintained his smug look. "Did your substitute arrive?"
The old man gave a relieved laugh as he stood up. "Thank heaven I'm saved!" He said as two teenage boys walked in. "Are things going well at school?"
The nobleman looked at this as if it were a bad joke. "What have we here? School boys? I envy you kids today, you have so much time on your hands. Time for regrets. What's your name, boy?"
"Lelouch Lamperouge."
Lelouch's friend, a teenage boy with blue hair, looked at where the chess pieces were on the board. "Whoa, now wait a minute! You can't win this one, it's impossible right?!"
"Rivalz, when do you think we would have to leave, in order to make our next class?" Lelouch asked.
"Uh, twenty minutes if we bust our hump." Rivalz answered.
"Then be sure you drive safely on the way back." Lelouch said, much to Rivalz's surprise as he sat down. "I'll need nine minutes. And by the way, about yesterday?"
"Understood sir." The old man said. "We'll discuss it later."
"Nine minutes?" The nobleman questioned. "You only have twenty seconds per move!"
Lelouch picked up the black king. "Enough time for me."
"Hmm? You start with the king?" The nobleman then gave an enormous laugh while Lelouch simply smiled.
Luke, Leia and the droids had traversed a long way from where the Falcon had landed. When they reached the outskirts of town, Luke had headed off to the left, and Leia and the droids to the right. Now as Luke walked around in a new area, Luke reflected upon how fortunate they were not to get the Falcon damaged by the trees as they landed, and were able to shield the Falcon under the canopy of the old forest they landed in. The trees offered a protective arm, shielding the Falcon and the team from any unfriendly eyes or patrols that may report to Britania— Luke hoped it would last for a while. As much time as they needed in order to get off this planet.
Luke’s concentration was broken by a beep on the comms. He pulled out his Comlink. Leia's voice emitted from the device.
“How’s it going on your end Luke?” Luke smiled and said “it’s a really nice place, it reminds me of Yavin 4 before the Empire found it…”
Leia softly smiled and her mind returned to Alderaan, “ If only you had seen the forests on Alderaan, Luke it was a wonderful place."
Luke brought Leia back to the here and now by saying into the comms “So anything on your end? What did you discover?”
Leia scanned the streets of the city as she and droids kept to the shadows. The City appeared to be clean, and bright. There were lights in windows advertising products, and people talking on handheld devices. From her vantage point she replied to Luke, “Well the place we are taking a look is not as busy as Coruscant," Leia said, remembering the capital planet of the Empire she had visited when she was a teen. "I still wonder…"
Artoo beeped to get the attention of Leia and Threepio. The Princess and the Protocol droid came over to the astrometric droid. Artoo was upset, and Leia saw why. The three of them were caught off guard with what they saw when coming across the street… was something they didn't imagine.
It looked like an autonomous being. A being that was about the size of a house. It looked like a humanoid battle droid. It was mostly covered in white armour, with some police blue printed randomly. It was bulky, yet it had legs that appeared to roll on the ground; two arms that carried a large gun, and a head that looked like that of a drone. On its back looked to be a box, or compartment, either it was its energy source, or it was…
Leia and Threepio just couldn't take their eyes off the Knightmare as it rolled smoothly through the streets and turned into an adjective road. The humans walking the streets around didn't seem to be deterred by the presence of it and still went about their business. She and her droids had drifted out onto the street in awe.
“Oh my goodness I have never seen a battle droid do that!” Leia said in wonder. She raised her comlink to her mouth to warn Luke of what she just saw.“Luke. You are not going to believe what we just saw. Artoo has just alerted us to military looking robots roaming the streets. This Empire has these big robots that are almost like Battle droids!”
A man walking past overheard the conversation, and interrupted. “Actually they are called Knightmares, they're the best in all of Britannia!”
Leia was taken aback, but managed to said. “Oh I see thank you sir!”
The man walked away, looking proud of the machine. Almost like it was his beautiful Robot roaming the street.
“Luke, did you get that?” Luke nodded at Leia’s voice over the comms, murmured his reply. His mind whirled with what a giant battle droid could accomplish. Then the Force brought Luke back to the here and now. He could sense fear and trouble in the air.
“See you back at the Falcon, I think someone’s in trouble!”
Luke, now on the streets of the city, walked determinedly towards an altercation between a large noble man and a young malnourished boy. The large “NobleMan” was assaulting a young boy who was on the ground, trying to defend his head from the boots of the much larger man. Luke pushed the pompous man back, to stop him from hurting the young shoe polisher. The large angry man turned to face Luke.
“Hey!” He pointed at the young man still cowering on the ground. "He's a pathetic-minded Eleven who promised to give me a good shoe-shine. But in fact, he is as clumsy with his work, just like all the numbers!"
“He’s an innocent man, just leave him be!” Luke again pushed the well to do man. The Noble Man now, feeling threatened, ran away. Luke came over to the poor man, and offered his hand to help him up. The young boy took the hand with surprise, “Thank you, I have never seen someone from Britannia actually defend me!”
"Do you want me to help you get home," Luke said, worried, as he took his arm.
"No, please…" The young man said, now worried. "It's… it's not proper for Britannians helping an Eleven…" Luke shook his head
"It doesn't matter. He kicked you pretty hard, and I doubt you could go home in this state. It would be cruel not to help." Luke began to help the man
As several Britannian citizens looked in shock at the kind act, some of them started whispering in awe. Others looked in complete spite for what Luke was doing.
"Which way is your home?" Luke asked.
"Uh…" The Eleven looked down, ashamed. "It's in… the Shinjuku Ghetto." Luke nodded as they headed off and started to walk together.
Elsewhere on the highway, the stolen truck was being driven by Nagata, while next to him in the passenger's seat was Kallen. Both of them wore the disguises of workers, though it didn't seem to matter anymore now that the damn Britannians were on their tail.
"Perfect!" Nagata exclaimed, sarcasm dripping from his voice. "After all our planning and patience, we finally steal this damn thing, and this happens! It's all because Tamaki couldn't stick to Ohgi's plan. And now we have a problem!"
The nobleman nail file hit the ground as it slipped from the man's fingers. His jaw hung in utter disbelief. He had lost his game. Lelouch had already called Checkmate and had left with Rivalz; the two were already in the building's lobby.
"I just love playing against the nobility!" Rivalz chuckled. "When they lose they always pay out of pride! By the way, 8 minutes and 32 seconds is a new record!"
"He also didn't have much time to move either." Lelouch said in a bored tone as if not pleased with it. "And as opponents go, the nobles are tepid. They're just over-privileged parasites, that's all."
"Well then, why don't you challenge one of the Elevens?" Rivalz suggested as he walked backwards out the main door. "They're nothing like us Britannians!"
Lelouch chuckles as he looks at his friend. “Maybe I will, maybe I won't. You still on about your strange theory before we got here this morning?”
Rivalz said with a grin, “Well duh of course I am buddy!”
Early that same day at Ashfold Academy
“Hey I’m here!” Lelouch said as he entered a classroom where the members of the student council were already seated.
“Hi Lulu, so where's Rivalz?" Shirley Fenette asked. Shirley was a bright teen with green eyes and long orange hair that flowed down to her waist. As a member of the Ashford Swimming Team, her body was long, lean and all muscle.
"Wait, Rivalz Isn't here yet?" Lelouch asked, looking baffled.
"We'd assume he would be with you. Like always," Milly Ashford said to him. Milly was a slender blonde with blue eyes. As to the matter of her last name, Milly was not only the president of the student council, but she was also the granddaughter to the principal of Ashford Academy: The former Lord Ashford.
The last girl was Nina Einstein. Nina was a girl with dark hair in pigtails and grey eyes behind glasses. The girl was not as open as Milly or Shirley, and she was most often quiet and keeping to herself.
"Strange," Lelouch said as he went to take his seat at the table with them. "I thought he was eager to share something since first period."
"Oh, that Rivalz…" Shirley sighed, as she rolled her eyes, "He always has something."
"Well, no point waiting around," Milly said. "We need to get down to business!" She slammed her hand down on the table, catching their attention, even frightening Nina. "It is time for us to begin on the inevitable: Planning the School Festival!"
That was right. One of the responsibilities of the Ashford Academy Student Council was to prepare for the festival that occurred at the school annually.
"Last year, according to my notes," Nina who finally decided to speak up as she twiddled her fingers. "We almost went overboard with the budget."
"That's why we have to do better this time!" Milly said proudly.
"Well, first we need to figure out something unique to this year." Shirley said as she pulled out her Ipad and opened the photos of the past festivals.
One showed the whole student council in chef's clothes, hats, aprons and all.
One showed Lelouch, Shirley and Nunnally in the kitchen cooking. Lelouch let Nunnally taste the pudding on the spoon, while behind them Shirley was having trouble with a fire, a look of comic horror on her face.
Another slide showed the Halloween Costume Party. The photo showed Lelouch in a Count Dracula costume as he danced with Milly, who wore a purple bat costume. Rivalz, who was wearing a shabby ghost costume, had a comically irritated jealous look on his face upon seeing them together; he attempted to smack Lelouch from behind with a broom, but was stopped by a scared Nina whose glasses were flying off her face, crashing into Shirley.
Lelouch closed his eyes, amused by the whacky times they had back then. "Heh, well I hope whatever we may plan won't overstep our budget. Could be quite disastrous to be in debt to someone. Unless we know a way to gain more funds."
"Oh, please, Lulu…" Shirley sighed as she shook her head. "Don't go there."
"What are you talking about?" Lelouch asked.
"You know what I mean!" Shirley exclaimed as she glared at Lelouch. "You're still gambling aren't you!" She pointed a finger at him. "You were supposed to have stopped two weeks ago! It's a real bad habit! All the times you spent gambling you could have used to keep up with your grades! I mean imagine if one of these days you lose, and you'll find yourself in debt?!"
Milly made a teasing smirk. "Hmm, I don't know Shirley, I don't recall Lelouch ever losing a single bet. Although, Lelouch, perhaps that can help with our…"
"Not you too! Madame Pres!" Shirley said with horror. "First you and now Rivalz." She turned back to Lelouch. "Rivalz has been so lenient in driving you down to those dens! If you are always bribing him, then that is just dirty! And just where is he…"
"HEY GUYS SORRY FOR RUNNING LATE JUST HAD TO FIND THE BLASTED THING!" Everyone looked in surprise to see Rivalz coming in pulling a mini tv into the room "You're late, you know." Milly said with a stern look. "Again."
"Yeah, sorry about that boss lady," Rivalz rubbed the back of his head, a little embarrassed. "But I was just with the other guys talking about something…"
"Well, Rivalz," Shirley said. "You better sit down and hear what I have to say to you and-“"
"No, no, no! There's something you have to see first!" Rivalz interrupted her as he said excitedly to the group as he pulled out his mini-tv and sat down, and everyone gathered around. "This was taken last night!"
Rivalz then turns the mini-tv he brought into the room to a news report with a news lady standing beside an image of the night with some sort of shape as it appeared to be blurry.
"It was around the time of midnight, when reports showed the military trying to intercept a strange unidentified aircraft approaching the Tokyo Settlement. Warning shots were fired yet the aircraft eluded capture and somehow vanished as it ascended into the night sky.”
Lelouch flashed a confused look to Rivalz.
"The military continued to sweep the area in an attempt to spot the aircraft again but to no avail. Theories have been brought that the aircraft was of foreign origin, used for espionage. It is believed to have hailed from either the EU or the Chinese Federation. Investigation into this matter is still ongoing ."
With that Rivalz paused the video. "Can you guys believe this?!" The teen said ecstatically.
"Believe what? What are you even talking about??" Milly said, annoyed.
"You… you guys think it could be a spy ship?" Shirley said, looking concerned. "From one of the other superpowers." That caused Nina to shudder with fear. Lelouch almost narrowed his eyes.
"No!" Rivalz said. "I mean evidence! It's like those UFO's I showed you before! And this just happened last night! Maybe it could mean—"
"Oh, Rivalz, you goof!" Shirley slapped his shoulder playfully. "Aliens? Again? That's the thing you were so excited to tell us about after class?! When are you ever going to grow up?"
"Say…" Milly said, with a smile forming on her face while a lightbulb simultaneously lit up above her head "That's not a bad idea."
" Huh?" Everyone turned at Milly, baffled.
"What's not a bad idea, Pres?" Nina asked as she adjusted her glasses.
"Aliens!" Milly smiled brightly. "That could be the theme for our festival!"
Shirley's eyes turned to white circles. "Oh, come on!"
"You…" Rivalz said, starting to smile. "You think so, Pres? You like the idea…"
"Yeah!" Milly said. "But I guess it would depend on the budget. That is if space themes don't require too much…"
Lelouch shook his head. There Milly goes again. Even with the simplest thing, Milly can turn it into a grand plan for success. Yet, while Lelouch would laugh, he still narrowed his eyes again at the paused picture of the unidentified aircraft. Why was he having this… this… strange feeling. And this happened last night? Also, it disappeared. Could it be possible by a remote scale… that it was espionage? From whom the EU or the Chinese Federation?
Why was he thinking of this? It could only be… just a rumour spread by Britain.
Flashback ends
In another part of the city after getting the person to his friend, Luke Skywalker walked past the building that Rivalz and Lelouch had walked out of. The pair had stopped to watch a news report on the large display screen that shadowed over the city. Luke caught sight of news broadcasting on a flat 2D screen, and grimaced at it.
People around them all chatted to themselves, " How cruel. Innocent people are getting caught up in this?"
" Those horrible Elevens…"
" They'll pay for this…"
Luke’s shoulders tightened upon hearing the murmurings about the 'Elevens' or to be specific: the Japanese.
The screen switched from general news to the Britannian Insignia.
We apologise for the delay. Now his royal highness, Prince Clovis, third prince of Britannia, will address the nation."
The screen switches to show Clovis la Britannia standing in front of his throne and wearing his regal clothing with a white cape over his shoulders.
Rivalz didn't notice the way Lelouch narrowed his eyes at the sight of the Viceroy.
" To all my imperial subjects, including of course the many cooperative Elevens…
"JAPANESE!" A red-haired girl corrected in anger at the image of Prince Clovis on the screen, obviously frustrated . "We're Japanese! Not Elevens, you royal prick!"
“Who choose to serve the empire of Britannia."
Choose to serve? Luke glared at the image of the prince. They didn't choose to serve…From the limited conversation he had with the hurt Japanese man, he thought this not to be true. They were invaded and forced to live in ghettos while the elites treated them like dirt. Even worse than dirt. Was this prince for real?
" Do you not see my pain?!" Clovis made a clench of his hand and held it to his heart.
"My heart was ripped from my chest only to have it torn apart! The remnants are filled with rage and sadness!"
Okay, now he’s acting pathetic . Luke thought to scoff at the image. Anyone can see how pathetic the prince was doing it. As if the man truly felt any remorse for those who had died.
“ However, as ruler of Area 11, I will not tolerate terrorism of any kind! Because the battle we fight is a righteous one! A virtuous battle to protect the well being of one and all! Now then everyone, I would like you all to join me in observance of the eight who died for justice in the name of duty." Clovis finished.
" A moment of silence please."
The crowd around Luke, Rivalz and Lelouch fell into a minute of silence.
Leia was at a coffe shop hearing stories from the locals about injustices as she made sure to listen to every word before heading back to the falcon with the two droids right behind her. As Leia picks up her com-link as Han spoke into it.
"Because the rest were not Britannian," Han said, and he shook his head at the image of Prince Clovis. "This Prince and his empire seem to show concern only for their own."
"While the Elevens are what to them? Garbage?" Leia exclaimed, not forgetting how those Britannians beat on that Eleven, and the ghettos where the Elevens were forced to live in. "They are people just like them! How can they just ignore them like that?"
"Well, perhaps your highness would like to march to pretty boy majesty and give him a thing or two?" Han asked blatantly. "Just saying you're a princess… from another galaxy."
Leia sighed. "Han not now…" "All right, Leia sorry…" Han simply shrugged. Chewie roared.
"What would Luke think of this?" Han then said, responding to his first mate and best friend. "Sulking I bet, I still can't believe he went out without telling us."
""Let’s just hope he’s doing alright and what he found on his side of the playing field."
Lelouch finished paying the parking fee for the slot where Rivalz's motorcycle was parked.
"Well, aren't you gonna join in?" Rivalz said, noticing his friend was not partaking in the moment of silence.
"Aren't you?" Lelouch asked.
"Well…" Rivalz chuckled a bit nervously. "It's sort of embarrassing."
"And I agree with you. Besides, spilling tears over those people won't bring them back to life, now, will it?"
"Dang, that's dark buddy."
Lelouch looked back at the screen where Clovis was still partaking in the moment of silence. "It's all about self-satisfaction. It doesn't matter how hard you try, you can't do it…there's no way you can change the world."
For a moment, Lelouch frowned at what he said. If no matter how much he would try… How could the world change for the better for his young sister?
Viceroy place
“You were magnificent, your highness," One of the women praised as Clovis stepped down from his throne. "One would have never guessed you were attending a party while doing that."
Clovis smiled amusingly at that, as at the same time the tv crew broadcasted his message, his throne room was attended by many noble guests who had come for his merriment.
"Well, the viceroy is the marquis actor of Area 11," Clovis said as two of his manservants went to remove his white cape. "I need to change costumes quickly." For the prince it was just as simple as improvisation for theatre. It was like art. And art was his most beloved subject.
"My, you're so self-confident!"
"It's all in the performance." Clovis said as he looked at the members of the media on his left. "Since the media want a charismatic prince—I'll give them one."
"How true!" One middle-aged moustached media member said approvingly. "Prince Clovis, our key purpose in this line of work is to assist your reign in any way we can!"
The only one who didn't buy into this performance—was Diethard Reid standing at the very corner with a folder detailing the Osaka bombing. The man was in his 30's, tall with blue eyes and long blonde hair in a ponytail. Unlike the other reporters, this one adorned the arrogant prince with a disgusted scowl.
"His reign my foot…" He muttered to himself. "Is nothing more than a pathetic sham. No way in hell if he thinks I'm one of those idiots spending the rest of their careers glorifying his fiasco of a..."
"Your highness!" General Bartley came running in the room towards Clovis.
"A soldier?" Diethard raised an eyebrow in wonder and in curiosity.
"How boorish of you, Bartley." Clovis said, not appreciating Bartley's intrusion.
"I beg your pardon, your highness… my lord…" Bartley then whispered for only the prince to listen as Clovis’s eyes widened.
"Not another appearance from him," Diethard said, now ready to walk out of this boorish place. "Hope it's not dreary." Until he suddenly heard.
" YOU FOOL!" Diethard turned back at the sound of Clovis' outburst who had slammed his glass into the ground breaking it.
The police were informed that it's medical equipment, that's all. If we scramble the army there'll be records…"
"Deploy the Royal Guard!" Clovis demanded, with his face starting to seethe with anger. "The Knightmares as well!"
The Royal Guard? Diethard raised an eyebrow. What reason could make Clovis so angry?
Among those in the crowd at the party was a woman and a man wearing armour similar to almost that of Darth Vader. The two wondered what would cause such a fuss as their helmets shined.
Heading to their prince's command, several soldiers deployed to their respective Knightmares.
Three of them in particular, were decorated soldiers in the purist faction: Kewell Soresi, Villetta Nu, and their leader: Margrave Jeremiah Gottwald.
The three of them, along with many others activated their autonomous-being frames to action.
Rivalz drove his motorcycle down the freeway with Lelouch riding in the passenger seat attached to the vehicle.
"That first move you made, why'd you start with the king?" Rivalz asked.
"Heh…" Lelouch almost chuckled. "If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?"
That made Rivalz confused. "What's with that?"
"With what?"
"Do you fantasise about running a major corporation or something?"
"No way, ambitions like that will ruin your health," Lelouch said. They are only ambitions if you cannot make them a reality, he thought. Ambitions yes… unless it can contribute something greater that would benefit him and Nunnally. If the skills he had can…
HONK! HONK!
Both boys looked behind them in shock as the runaway truck was speeding just right behind them.
"Dah!" Rivalz yelped as he tried to steer out of the way of the vehicle behind him. "WE’RE GONNA DIE!"
"You idiot!" The disguised Nagita muttered in annoyance as he steered right to avoid running them over.
"NO! Not that way!" Kallen shouted, but it was too late as the truck drove into a construction zone and ended up crashing into one of the buildings.
Rivalz stopped the motorcycle, and he and Lelouch looked at the crash.
"Eh, was that our fault?" Rivalz asked, a bit nervously.
"I don't think so," Lelouch said. To be fair, the driver shouldn't have driven that fast. But still, was the driver all right?
Luke, who was passing by, saw the whole thing, and looked at the crashed truck in shock.
Not far above the chaos, a police aircraft saw the crash as well.
" Control, the target has crashed at the abandoned VO construction site."
" The military will take over. General Bartley's Command!"
" Him?!"
General Bartley walked down the hall of the palace, with sweat running down his face.
"This is exactly what his highness and I feared would happen! We have to retrieve it at all costs! If that thing falls into the wrong hands…"
Soon, as the dust was clearing out, a faint glow of energy started emanating from the truck. It was noticed not just by Luke but Lelouch as well who was getting out of the sidecar.
“The heck was that?!” Luke said in shock.
Both Luke and Lelouch from their separate places, saw the shape of glowing energy briefly take the form of… a person or something… before fading away.
"Was that a person?" Luke and Lelouch said in unison.
"Hey Rivalz come check this out…" Lelouch said, calling out to his friend.
"Hey, over here!"
Lelouch looked to the side to see people gathering around to observe the crash, some of them took their phones out to take pictures of it.
" Whoa, nasty crash!"
" Some accident?"
" Drunk driver?"
" Maybe somebody should get help?"
Lelouch glared at them. Instead of just standing, at least some of them should be going down there to make sure the driver was alright.
“ Whoa, nasty crash!"
" Some accident?"
" Drunk driver?"
" Maybe somebody should get help?"
Lelouch glared at them. Instead of just standing, at least some of them should be going down there to make sure the driver was alright. Until he heard a voice say.
“Come on, we've got to at least help him!” Lelouch then sees a young blonde man among the crowd who had exclaimed the situation.
"Help them?" Another man. "We better wait for the police to deal with it."
"But the driver could be dying, right now!" Luke pointed at the crash. "We need to help them!"
"'We?'" A woman asked. "Who's that? We're not going down there! Better wait for the police to handle all this nonsense…"
Luke looked at the people around them and was appalled by most of their apathetic expressions. "Forget it, I'll deal with it!" He muttered and the Rebel pilot climbed from the side and jumped.
"Hey kid! You're going to hurt yourself!" The man yelled, but Luke was already on the ground not listening or caring for what they said.
Lelouch almost smiled as if to see there was at least one person who was willing to risk himself to help those in need, unlike all those other idiots. He didn't know what he saw, but Lelouch felt he needed to see for himself.
"Hey, can you help me out, buddy?" Rivalz asked but found out Lelouch was gone. "Where'd you go?"
Both the man and girl in the front seat were alive, thanks to the airbags; but it still did little to help with the situation they were in now.
Luke was halfway from the truck when he noticed someone catching up behind him. He turned around to see Lelouch stopping right in front of him.
The rebel noticed the uniform and recognized it from Ashford academy and said “Hey aren’t you a student?”
Lelouch then said, offended by that, “Yeah, what about it?”
Luke then asked him. “It’s nothing! But what are you doing here?”
“I've come to lend a hand. Unlike the ones who are enjoying being on standby," Lelouch looked back with narrowed eyes as the citizens were looking down at them. Who were muttering amongst themselves.
“Yeah," Luke couldn't agree more. "Well, I couldn't just stand by while someone could be dying right now."
"Mind if I tag along?" Lelouch asked. At that Luke almost smiled. "The more the merrier."
With that both young men ran towards the truck.
"Hey!" Lelouch called out.
"Are you alright?!" Luke called out, and as he pushed away rubble that was blocking the front door. There had to be an alternative. The rebel saw a ladder and climbed up and got on top of the truck. Lelouch did the same, and when he was about to climb on top, he looked up to see Luke offering his hand. "Need a lift?"
Lelouch was baffled at first by the gesture. He had just met this young man, and he was offering help. He was still a complete stranger to him, and it would be foolish to trust him. But the kind gesture he was giving, it would be rude not to accept it, especially when they were trying to help people at the moment.
Lelouch took Luke's hand, and the rebel helped the student on top of the truck.
Meanwhile, since the powerline to the motorbike was cut, Rivalz had no choice but to move it himself. "Yeah, yeah, I know it's the right thing to do, but I wish the guy would just quit flaunting his pride and give it a rest for a while. There's at least one guy down there, why does that make Lelouch want to jump in?" Lelouch had to play the hero of all times. "Now we're going to be late for school!"
Back in the truck, the redhead got back to her senses. "Nagata… Nagata!"
Luke and Lelouch noticed an opening at the top of the truck. Luke dropped down inside, hoping to get in contact with the drivers in the front seat. Before he could call out—he noticed inside the truck… was some sort of sphere-like machine in front of him.
"What the heck is this?" Luke said, observing the device.
"Is something wrong?" Lelouch called out, still on top of the truck. "Are you okay?"
Suddenly, Lelouch felt a ping of feeling course through his head as he heard a voice.
" It's you! Finally, I have found my…"
"Wha…" Lelouch realised that wasn't the blonde guy calling him. That was a woman's voice. But who?
Coming back to his senses the truck began to reverse backwards.
The truck instantly pulled out of the rubble, and it caused Lelouch to tumble inside the truck—right on top of Luke.
"Ow!" Luke exclaimed in pain when Lelouch fell flat on him.
"Sorry about that!" Lelouch apologised as he got off Luke and was caught off guard by the sphere-like machine in the truck as well.
The truck rolled out of the construction site and swerved back on the freeway, with Rivalz looking on in confusion. "So… would you call that a hit and run?"
“What’s going on out there? What was that driver doing back there?!” Luke exclaimed.
“You'd think they'd stick a ladder on the inside, too." Lelouch said, realising they didn't have an easy way out.
"Yeah, but I don't think it would be safe to jump out when this thing is going so fast!" Luke said. "We need to get the driver to—"
" Stop the vehicle!"
A megaphone voice from outside caught both of their attention.
" Surrender now and you'll get your chance to defend yourself in court!"
"The police?!" Lelouch said, with shock.
"Oh, that’s not good…" Luke could only facepalm. Three military helicopters shot around the truck as a warning.
" Give up now! Or we'll shoot to kill!"
"Now what do we do?!" Nagata grunted as that got intense. "That's the army!"
"Have you forgotten?" The redhead girl removed her hat as if she saw this coming a mile away. "That's what I'm here for!"
Luke and Lelouch realised they were in a tight spot and were now behind the sphere device.
"No, wonder if the truck sped so easily to crash!" Luke said. "They must have done something big to bug the local authorities off." He looked at the device. Could it be because of this thing? Did they steal it?
"Yeah, but what are we gonna do?" Lelouch asked. "If we jump out, we have the choice of either breaking our necks or getting shot at."
Luke then said “Well we’re just gonna have to take our chances on what we got!” Luke then remembered something.
“Unless!” As he pulled his comlink as Lelouch said looking at it “Ah what’s that?” Before Luke could say something.
Both of them heard the door open and they both quieted when they saw a redhead girl remove her worker uniform to reveal her suit that matched the colour of her hair.
"Can you enter the subway via the Azuma route?" She asked Nagata, who was still at the front.
"Kallen, let's use it here! Why not?!" Nagata called out.
Kallen, huh? Luke thought to himself.
"Because that would mean a blood bath!" Kallen said as she climbed up the ladder onto something.
Use what? What is it that would mean a blood bath? Luke thought, not liking what the girl and driver were meaning.
Luke then noticed Lelouch was still staring at the girl.
"Hey you okay?" Luke asked the student.
"I… I've seen her before." Answered Lelouch.
" What?!" Luke said, baffled at this crazy day he was now having.
“Lelouch, come on! Where are you?!" Rivalz called out, still at the construction site, unaware Lelouch was no longer there. "We've gotta get to school!"
" Target is moving from the settlement toward the ghetto!"
" Copy that, corner them!"
The helicopter opened fire, until a slash harken shot out from the back of the truck's carrier—and obliterated it before it retracted back.
"A slash-harken?!" The other pilot said in shock.
Opening at the end of the carrier—revealed a red Glasgow Knightmare piloted by none other than the girl who matched the colour of it in both suit and hair colour.
"What the!" Luke exclaimed in shock as he recognized it. "That's—"
"A Knightmare!" The helicopter widened their eyes in shock at the sight of it.
"Crap!" Lelouch said. "These guys are REAL terrorists!"
"Do you even know that girl?!" Luke exclaimed.
The red Glasgow jumped out of the truck and onto the street, with the gate of the carrier closing behind her. "You fellas know full well what this badass mother can do!"
Kallen said, before she sped her Knightmare in a zigzag to avoid fire and shot another slash-harken at the second helicopter, likewise, destroying it successfully. But before she could go for the last remaining helicopter, a larger aircraft appeared from the smoke and it was carrying Jeremiah Gottwald in his purple Sutherland Knightmare.
"The rest of you back off, I'll take this guy, myself." He said to the remaining helicopter, before disengaging his Knightmare from the aircraft and landing right in front of Kallen. "I can only assume you dug that obsolete relic out of some scrap heap."
Kallen tried to fire her slash harken at him, but Jeremiah quickly fired his own to stop it. "An over-the-hill Glasgow is NO match for the Sutherland!" He readied his own equipped automatic machine gun. "Not to mention a filthy Eleven who spurns the compassion of our glorious Emperor!" He fired and Kallen tried to shield herself using her Knightmare's left arm.
"Kallen!" Nagata shouted through the communicator. "We should split up! Both of us can't risk getting killed! Run for it!"
Nagita was caught off guard when a second Sutherland jumped on the road in front of him. "Oh, CRAP!" He swerved to turn left towards the ghetto, unfortunately the Sutherland fired at the front, and Nagata felt a few bullets hit him.
The one who had fired inside the Sutherland, was none other than Villetta, who smirked. "Simple-minded Eleven."
Kallen tried to activate her slash-harken again, only to realise to her horror that it was stuck. "No way!"
Jeremiah grinned, as he noticed her difficulty. He then went to raise his Knightmare blade high in the air to end her.
"Second-hand piece of junk!"
Kallen had no choice, and she blasted her left Glasgow arm off. The detached metal limb rocketed and hit Jeremiah's Sutherland, giving her time to escape from him.
Back in the truck's carrier, Luke quickly turned on his communicator, while Lelouch looked on anxiously.
"Guys, are you there?! Leia? Han?" Luke called out. "Threepio?"
"Threepio?" Lelouch asked. "What kind of name is Threepio?"
"Oh they’re friends of mine." Luke answered briefly, before turning back to the communicator. "C'mon!"
Millennium Falcon
Threepio noticed the communicator on the table becoming static, before hearing a familiar voice.
" Hello?! Is anyone there!"
"Master Luke!" Threepio exclaimed, catching everyone's attention.
"Luke?!" Han and Leia said simultaneously, and Chewie barked.
"Master Luke!" Threepio spoke through the communicator. "Are you alright, sir?" Leia then said “Luke, where are you? You were supposed to be back here like an hour ago!”
“Master Luke?" Lelouch looked at Luke. Was this guy some sort of nobility? And why did that man's voice on the com sound echoing?
“Threepio patch me to Leia and Han!” But however it appeared he heard static. "Threepio? Threepio?!" Luke yelled again, and then he and Lelouch realised that everything in the truck became darker.
"Luke!" Leia said again through the communicator, but Luke was not answering back.
"What happened?" Han asked.
Artoo then beeped as he held up his antenna. "Artoo says that the signal to Master Luke's communicator has been lost." Threepio said.
"What?!" Leia and Han both exclaimed in complete worry.
Luke tried again to speak through his communicator to no avail, as Lelouch looked at his phone and realised why.
"Now it explains it," Lelouch said, and Luke looked at him. "There's no cellphone reception. We're out of range."
"What?" Luke exclaimed. "Where are we then?" Lelouch looks around and then spoke up knowing the location
"Judging by the darkness and road surface, we must be driving along the old subway lines."
"In order to evade the police for sure." Luke said as he grimaced.
"Yeah, they may be heading for an exit somewhere in the ghetto. Which means getting out will still be dangerous, but…"
Lelouch held up a walkie-talkie as he gave one to Luke.
"Can that work?" Luke asked looking at it
"It could. We can use it to call the military and call for help. Though if we give them a terrorist communicator oh wait!" Lelouch realised. "What's wrong?" Luke asked.
Dah!" Unsuccessful in trying to find Lelouch, Rivalz had no choice but to push his motorcycle all the way to Ashford Academy by himself on the side of the street. "Some friend!" He grunted. "Leaving me behind like that!"
Ah-ha!" Lloyd Asplund said, as he leaned in to stare at Bartley, making him confused. "What are you doing?"
Lloyd smiled. "Looking for a man who blundered his little job, am I right?"
That got on Bartley's nerves. "Why you little…!"
Lloyd straightened himself, even as military tanks made their way past them. "You really screwed this one up. Terrorists came along and stole whatever it was that you and Prince Clovis were secretly working on. Retrieving it is simple, but you want to sweep up all of their compatriots in addition: Let the terrorists go and you can find their hideout, too!" He turned around to face Cecile. "Congratulations! Your reasoning was spot on!"
"It was nothing…" Cecile shyly said. "I just thought it was strange."
"Okay, that's enough! What is it that the Special Corps wants out of this!" Bartley demanded getting to the point.
"I'm merely saying I'd like to assist with the cleanup." Lloyd responded casually.
"To assist?" Bartley asked. What did Asplund want this time?
"Correct, because it's the data I want." Bartley narrowed his eyes. So, that's it.
"Excuse me," Cecile asked. "But what in the world have they just stolen anyway?"
Bartley knew he had to think of something quick. "Chemical weapons, in other words: poison gas."
Multiple military aircraft hovered over the ruins that were the Shinjuku Ghetto, and the residents shook in fear as masked soldiers in black and grey descended down the ropes of the craft and on the ground. All the while, they were contacted by the captain of the Royal Guard:
" The terrorists are hiding in the subway system. Your mission is to locate the weapon that they have stolen. Investigate the old subway system that runs through the Eleven-residential district in the Shinjuku Ghetto. Report in the moment you spot them; recovery of the target will be handled by us, the Royal Guard. You people bear the honorary title of Britannians now, but you were born Elevens, therefore the stench of these monkeys ought to be a familiar one. If you want to earn the right to carry arms, then show some results! This is your opportunity to show your loyalty to Britannia!"
Nagata, who was now bleeding in the shoulder and struggling to breathe where Villetta had shot him with her Sutherland gun, kept driving the truck through the deep tunnels of the ghetto, before the truck came to a stop. The tires had stumbled onto a ditch, making the truck impossible to move any further.
"We stopped?" Luke said.
"An accident? Or else?" Lelouch said as well.
One of the masked soldiers noticed the truck and realised he had found the objective.
"The tire's stuck…" Nagata grunted and went to flip a switch at the dashboard. "Please Ohgi… find me because I don’t have much time left…"
When he hit the switch, the door to the truck's carrier opened.
"That's our exit!" Luke said, seeing the exit.
The masked soldier used his goggles in his mask to spot the sphere machine. He turned on his communicator.
" 4-0-4 has spotted the target."
" Roger, prepare for recovery!"
The masked man then spotted Luke and Lelouch hiding and made the wrong assumption.
"Come on let’s get outta here" Lelouch said, seeing the exit.
"Wait!" Luke said as Lelouch looked at him. "What about this device? Why did they steal it? What is it supposed to be?"
Before Lelouch could answer, he turned around to see the mask soldier leaping and made a spinning kick that knocked Lelouch to the ground.
“Hey!” Luke shouted in outrage as he attempted to punch the masked soldier but he dodged some of the attack and then headbuts Luke as the blond-haired boy crashed into the wall of the truck.
The soldier walked and slammed Luke into the wall and said.
“That's enough mindless murder!" The masked soldier yelled at him.
"Murder?" Luke said, baffled. "But why the hell would we…?" But the soldier said,
"Planning on using poison gas?!" As he lets part of his mask fall to reveal his mouth. "Don't play dumb with me!"
“Get out of him!” Lelouch shouted as the soldier looked at him as Lelouch shoved the soldier aside as the soldier said
“Holy hell!” As they saw Lelouch’s face.
Lelouch glared as he came closer into the light. "Then why don't you just obliterate Britannia and be done with it already!"
"Lelouch take it easy there…" The soldier placed his hands in front as he unmasked himself to reveal the one person Lelouch never thought he would see today, more or less wearing a Britannian uniform.
Luke furrowed his eyes, as the soldier who attacked them knew Lelouch.
Lelouch. So, that must be his name.
"It's me…" The young man smiled. "Suzaku."
Lelouch gasped. The very first one who became his first real friend. The one whose family welcomed them into their home before the invasion. The one who witnessed the vow he made to obliterate Britannia many years ago upon a setting sun.
"Suzaku?" Lelouch said as he helped his old friend back to his feet.
Lelouch said, trying to swallow this pill. "You… you became a Britannian soldier?"
Luke looked closely at the young soldier. He was… an Eleven… no Japanese… in a Britannain uniform?
"Yeah sorry about that!” Suzaku smiled at Lelouch as he finished the last bit of dirt on his uniform until he looked at Luke and said to Lelouch.
“And who is your new friend?” Luke then said, trying to be polite, he finally found someone that was nice as he looked ready to shake his hand since he hadn't properly introduced to Lelouch or his friend.
“My name is-“ But however they were suddenly interrupted when a bright light came out of the sphere device near them, and it began to unlock and unfold itself. Luke and Lelouch saw bright lights glowing the same colour of the light they saw earlier right in front of them.
Suzaku however, remembered what his officer said that the device was a holder of poison gas. Fearing the worst, Suzaku jumped on Luke and Lelouch and covered their mouths to protect them from the apparent toxic threat. Revealed… something else.
"That…" Luke looked at the silhouette coming into view. "That's not poison gas."
Lelouch and Suzaku looked up with widened eyes as well.
The bright light faded revealing it to be a woman.
"What the…" Lelouch said, not taking his eyes off the woman.
The woman swung her waist-long green hair back; and her golden eyes met with those of the youths as she fell on her back. She was bound in a white straitjacket and had a gag over her mouth.
"That's not poison gas at all!" Luke exclaimed. "It's a girl!"
"What is it, then?" Suzaku asked in confusion. Why would his superior say that it was chemical weapons? What's a woman doing inside a machine?
Somewhere else underground, was Kallen in her red Glasgow, having managed to escape Jeremiah.
"In all the confusion, I left it in the coat." She responded to her communicator.
"It's okay. Glasgow's circuits are usable. So, were we right?"
"Think so," Kallen said. "I bet it's poison gas like intelligence said."
"And Nagata?"
"I don't know," She said, concerned. "But I think he made it underground."
Getting up Luke and Lelouch went to sit up the unconscious gagged girl.
"All that trouble for a girl?" Luke said. "Why was she in a machine? And why is she strapped like a prisoner?!"
He felt anger as to why someone would treat someone like this way, and no doubt the Britannia Empire was behind, seeing how they don't show concern over the well-being of the Eleven population.
"Tell us the truth, Suzaku!" Lelouch said angrily. "Poison gas? This girl?"
"Why is she dressed and tied up like this?" Luke said as he glared at Suzaku. "Were you experimenting on her?! Is she some sort of lab rat to you?!"
"I didn't know! I swear!" Suzaku said, genuinely, feeling appalled and confused at the reveal of the woman. "The captain said it was poison gas!"
Luke narrowed his eyes. "Then he is a no-good liar, then."
Suddenly a light shined on them, and the three looked behind to see the Royal Guard aiming at them.
"Who dares call me a liar! I am the Captain of the Royal guard!" The captain of the royal guard demanded, before his eyes fell on Suzaku. "You! Stinking monkey. Being an Honorary Britannian will not excuse you!"
Luke twitched his eyebrow. Honorary… Britannian?
"But sir!" Suzaku ran up to the captain. "I was told this was poison gas!"
"How dare you question orders!"
"Oh, no," Luke grimaced, not liking where this was going at all. "I got a bad feeling about this."
Lelouch couldn't agree more. This was bad indeed.
"However, in light of your outstanding military achievements, I'm going to be lenient," The captain handed Suzaku a gun. "Private Kururugi, take this—and execute the terrorists!"
Lelouch and Luke widened their eyes in shock, and so did Suzaku's.
"But they're not terrorists! They're just civilians who got caught up in all this!"
"You insubordinate little…" The captain twitched his eye in anger. "That's an order! Didn't you swear your loyalty and life to Britannia?!"
That made Suzaku look down. "Yes but I can't."
Luke and Lelouch gasped at what Suzaku said.
" What?!" The captain yelled.
"I won't do it. I won't shoot unarmed civilians," Suzaku said, as he looked at Luke and Lelouch, with a faint smile on his face. "I can't follow your orders, sir."
Luke was simply amazed. This soldier attacked him moments ago and now he was disobeying an order because it was wrong to shoot those unarmed. Luke could tell this young man went by the book and must be a really good friend to Lelouch.
"Very well then…" The captain said, before without a moment of hesitation, shot Suzaku in the back.
"NO!" Luke yelled in horror.
"SUZAKU!" Lelouch screamed at the sight of his friend falling to the ground. After seven long years, he had just reunited with him and now he was dead.
"Well, boys…" The captain smirked sadistically at Luke and Lelouch. "Just not your day isn't it." He gestured to his soldiers. "Collect the girl, after you've secured her, kill them!"
"Yes, my lord!" The soldiers obediently all said.
Luke glared at the captain with burning hate. He killed one of his own soldiers without a second thought, and now they were going to take the girl and kill both him and Lelouch. Not on his watch… the rebel moved his hand underneath his jacket to his belt—where his father's lightsaber was hanging.
Back in the truck, Nagata realised he was not going to make it as he had lost a lot of blood. With the Britannians now here, there was one last option for him to do…
"Death to… Britannia…" He looked one more time at the photo of him with his wife and baby boy, before going to flick a red switch. "Long live… Japan…"
He flicked the switch.
BOOM!
G1 Base
"They got away?!" Bartley exclaimed as he communicated with the Royal Guard Captain, as he, and other officials were in Prince Clovis' personal purple transport—that was making its way into Shinjuku Ghetto. "And you call yourselves the Royal Guard?!"
" Uh… forgive me my lord! The blast was mainly directed upwards but the…"
"Why the hell did you think I only told you people about this?!"
" W-We'll continue the investigation!" The captain said before cutting off.
Clovis himself sat on a throne not far from Bartley and the others. "The plan has moved forward to the next phase."
"But… your highness!" Bartley said.
"If knowledge of her gets out—I'll be disinherited!" Clovis said, if worse, he'll be more than disinherited. "Tell them back home we are carrying out a planned urban-renewal here." He stood and declared: "As Clovis, Third Prince of the Empire, I command you: Destroy Shinjuku Ghetto! Leave no one alive!"
Shinjuku Ghetto
From Clovis' transport, multiple Knightmares were deployed with one objective: to slaughter everyone in Shinjuku Ghetto either it be man, woman, or child.
Tanks and Knightmares with rocket launchers were on the outskirts, launching long-range missiles into the buildings.
" The enemy is garbage. They can never hope to become even Honorary Britannians. Wipe out every last one of them!" Bartley ordered from the comms.
Stepping into the scene was Jeremiah's Knightmare, who couldn't agree more. "Naturally."
"Supervisor Jeremiah," A soldier contacted Margrave. "General Bartley requests that you take command—"
"Bartley has staff officers," Jeremiah interjected to the soldier. "I haven't had this much fun on the front lines in ages!" With that, his Knightmare raised his gun to start firing.
G1 Base
Back with Clovis, the prince looked pleased as he looked at the table screen from his throne how quickly his forces were tearing through the ghetto. As long as the only casualties were Elevens—he couldn't care less—by this rate they will find the girl and things will be resolved.
"Why are they doing this?!" Luke exclaimed as Lelouch and the green-haired girl ran through the tunnel, which was starting to rumble due to the chaos happening outside. "All this for us?!"
The bound girl tripped and fell.
"Are you okay?" Luke said, bending down to help the girl.
"What the hell are you?!" Luke looked to Lelouch who had a very stressed look on his face as he leaned against a wall.
"This chaos is your fault, isn't it?!" Lelouch yelled at the girl.
"Hey, will you calm down…" Luke tried to speak.
"YOU EXPECT ME TO CALM DOWN?!" Lelouch screamed at Luke, who fell silent. "Not only that, but Britannia has…" Lelouch put a hand to his face. "They even killed Suzaku!"
Luke looked at the boy in pity, knowing he was hurt at the apparent loss of his friend trying to place a hand on his shoulder "I'm really sorry-"
"YOU DON’T GET TO BE SORRY!" Lelouch yelled again, slapping Luke’s hand away and then waved his hand at Luke. "You can't! You wouldn’t! You can't understand! You would NEVER understand!" The student looked down in utter despair.
Luke could only look at the student with sympathy, while the girl stared on.
“Not here?" Lloyd asked Cecile, as they stood next to a vehicle that held a different sort of Knightmare that was hidden by a tarp. They were right in front of Clovis' transport, where soldiers and tanks were stationed around.
"It looks like he's gone to the front lines," Cecile said.
"Even though we brought the Lancelot here?" Lloyd made a frown.
"Now what do we do?"
Lloyd held up a golden ignition key, with disappointment etched on his face. "We steamrolled our way in here, but we don't have a devices to use it."
Luke, Lelouch, and the girl crouch near the top of the stairs that led them from underground to what looked like a torn up warehouse.
"Shh…" Luke said. "Wait here till the coast is clear."
They ducked down when they heard gunfire. The same Royal Guard had just gunned down several civilians.
"Report," The Captain who shot Suzaku came in.
"We only found Elevens here, sir."
"You're sure of it? That exit comes out here?" the trooper nodded "Yes, sir. It matches with our map of the old city."
Then came the crying of a little girl, before long the soldiers gunned her down, much to Luke and Lelouch's complete horror.
Why were they doing this? They weren't just looking for them—but they were committing genocide? To what end? Luke thought. All for the girl? Luke cringed. Those… monsters…
" Hello?! Hello?!" Luke and Lelouch looked at Luke's communicator that was on again. "Master Luke, are you alright!"
Oh, no, Threepio!
Luke went to turn off, but it was too late—the static voice already caught the Royal Guard's attention.
Millennium Falcon
When R2 found the signal of Luke's communicator back, they gathered around to call him back.
"Luke? Luke, are you there?" Leia called. Then they heard Luke grunting, along with someone else.
"Luke?" Han asked.
Then a voice responded.
" Who is this?!" The voice of the Royal Guard Captain called through the communicator—and that was enough to tell everyone… that Luke was in trouble.
"What kind of device is this? A communicator?" The captain held the white cylinder in his hand.
"Give it back!" Luke tried to reclaim it only to be butted by the back of the soldier's rifle and shoved against the wall next to Lelouch. The girl looked in horror as she was held by two of the soldiers.
"What an appropriate location for two terrorists to meet their ends." The captain said, as he and his men aimed their guns on the two.
"You scum!" Lelouch growled with hate towards the man who killed Suzaku.
"Still, you did well for students, after all both of you are Britannians."
" I'm not a Britannian!" Luke wanted to yell at the scar-faced captain but refused not to.
"However, maybe you can help with one question." The captain held up the comm. "Who were you communicating with? And where is their location? Comply and I'll be lenient with you."
"Never!" Luke growled with eyes of fury. "I'll never tell you anything. You people are the worst kind of people there are!"
The captain narrowed his eyes. "Bite your tongue…"
"Why would it matter? You'll still kill us just like you did to your own soldier back there. You even disregard the lives of these people you gunned down…" Luke gritted his teeth, as he looked behind the soldiers at the bodies of the civilians they had gunned down.
"They're Elevens!" The captain laughed. "They are not even worth the dirt underneath my boot. They should have been cleansed off the face of this land years ago—and that would have made things easier for our glorious young generation to take their rightful place here."
"And with all your talk—you're a hypocrite," Luke said, and that made the captain's face twitch in anger. "All your talk of Britannia being better than everyone else, you're now ready to kill me and this boy beside me…" He gestured at Lelouch. "Who is a Britannian like yourselves?"
"Pitifully so; yes, but he stumbled onto something at the wrong place at the wrong time. And as pitiful as it is, I cannot allow him to live. He is a witness, and so are you. And if you're not going to tell me the whereabouts of your conspirators…" The captain clicked his gun. "I think this will convince you." He aimed at Lelouch.
Lelouch closed his eyes—waiting for the inevitable. Luke knew he had to do something. If he could… bring in the force… he can at least…
"HE MUSTN'T DIE!" The girl shouted as ran in front of Luke and Lelouch went and the captain fired the gun.
BANG!
The girl stopped them from getting hit, but in the process—the bullet impacted her forehead instead. When she had moved, the bangs on her forehead moved to reveal a red mark on it. The mark looked like a bird with wings stretching out—ready to fly.
The girl fell to the ground dead.
"NO!" Luke roared in rage and made a dash toward the captain, but the captain shot him in the arm, and Luke cried out in pain before stumbling back.
"Hmphf!" The captain looked in disappointment at the girl's corpse. "Our orders were to bring her back alive if possible. Oh, well, nothing can be done about it now. We'll tell our superiors the Royal Guard found the terrorist hideout and wiped them out. Regrettably, the female hostage had already been tortured to death for their pleasure. What do you think, boy?"
Luke glared at the captain, while clutching his arm. "You, you bastard…"
Lelouch was on his knees as he stared at the girl who gave her life to save him and the other man. Now she is dead… just like Suzaku… and in a matter of time so will he and this other boy.
" How can this be happening? First Suzaku is killed… now this girl… and now this guy and me? Before I had a chance to do a single thing with my life… for…?"
He saw an image of Nunnally in her wheelchair, surrounded by a beautiful garden full of flowers, and she had a smile on her face.
" What will happen when I don't come back home. What will happen when she realises she is all alone in the world?! It's gone in a heartbeat… Nunnally!"
Suddenly, the unexpected happened: his wrist was caught by the girl.
And then everything around Lelouch flashed.
Lelouch felt his body floating into a sort of void. Gone was the warehouse, the royal guard, the blonde guy, and the dead girl. Soon, the nothingness around him was filled with many spinning colours circling around him.
"Wh-What?" Lelouch gasped.
He didn't understand what the hell was happening all around him. It… it was like something you would see in a dream. Yet however it felt more real than a hallucination.
What appeared before him amazed him—what looked to be two galaxies next to each other; each one spinning with stars, cosmos, and star systems revolving around each other. Was one of the galaxies… his? And the other?
Staring back at him… if only for a second… Lelouch thought he saw… a wolf as it howled.
A series of images then flickered through him.
One where it showed many young people in religious-like clothing and had the same mark on their foreheads like the girl.
Another similar image showed many children in robes of brown and white. What made Lelouch baffled was some of the children… weren’t even human. Some had different coloured skin. Some had horns. Multiple eyes. They were holding in their hands strange metal cylinders. Who were they?
" Reach out. Sense the Force around you. Use your feelings, you must." There came an elderly voice, sounding so ancient, yet almost so caring.
Then the void around then transformed… and Lelouch saw... many things…
Lands…Cities…
And even strange birds chirping as it echoed
A city over chaotic ocean, and storms raining all around. A beautiful green land filled with green plains, lakes, waterfalls, and light blue sky.
A hot desert, and on the horizon were… twin suns? Then there was a city. A city… floating in the clouds.
Then… somehow… Lelouch felt a dark aura approaching him, and it started to overturn the previous light aura he had been experiencing.
"At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge." Lelouch shuddered at the sound of this new voice. Unlike the others, this one was filled with bloodlust, anticipation and malice.
And then… there came another voice… with even more foreboding and evil…
"Wipe them out… all of them."
Lelouch shuddered at the sound of the voice. He then found himself in a dark hallway. Its walls were made of metal and stylized, as if the place was an airship or factory, but… it looked so… advanced.
He looked to be alone… in the vast hallway…
Then he heard something.
It was the sound… of someone's breathing. A very inhumane breathing.
“NO NO!!!!” And then came a scream Lelouch turned around at the source of agony, and saw a robed woman cry out in pain. The student's eyes widened in shock at seeing a blazing crimson blade protruding through her chest. The woman was released from the blade and fell to the floor next to the countless corpses around some were human looking others alien looking.
Lelouch gasped in horror seeing all of them dead right at his feet as he took steps back seeing this atrocity.
The student then lifted his head—at the wielder of the crimson blade. Both his shock and horror were indescribable on setting sight for the first time—at the masked man. A monster.
A being… clad from head to toe… in black shining armour and a long flowing cape. This most malevolent feature… with a cruel-shaped mask covered with a shining black hemet, face concealed, producing hoarse-mechanical breathing.
As it began approaching the student Lelouch started to feel cold as he felt his whole body shaking at this beast. This… monster whatever this was… and the corpses lying around… the boy felt he was looking at the face of death himself! As he struggled to say something.
"What the hell is all this?!" Lelouch put his hands to his head. "Who the hell are you?! Is this real or…"
Soon, he saw numerous shadows growing behind the monster. As each one became a different one each of their eyes glowing.
They stared down at Lelouch with yellow eyes. Their eyes were different from the girl's golden eyes; the robed men's eyes were filled with malice and HATRED.
Lelouch could see a few of their faces, and he shuddered at how different they were from each other. One was an elderly man with a beard.
One had pale skin with a mask over only his mouth. One had an almost elongated head and neck. As it laughed as his two arms became four arms.
Another person that had red horns similar to a devil snarled at Lelouch. And another that appeared to look like an elderly man… Lelouch couldn't see his face entirely… but he saw his yellow glowing eyes and his evil smile.
“HAHAHAHAH!” Lelouch felt terrified at these people as he then felt the ground underneath him crack as it shattered causing him to scream.
"You don't want it to end here… do you?"
Lelouch gasped… and it felt like… his falling started to slow.
"That voice… it's… it's… the girl!" He widened his eyes. "But she's…"
"You appear to have a reason for living. I propose a deal. I n exchange for this power, you must agree to make my one wish come true. Accept this contract, and you accept its conditions. While living in the world of humans, you will live unlike any other. A different province, a different time, a different life."
Power? From who? The robed children? Or the shadows that tried to attack him? What was it?
"The power of the king will condemn you to a life of solitude. Are you prepared for this?"
Then came the image of three beings. In the centre looked like an older man with a white beard and glowing blue eyes, he wore grey clothing with a pointed hat—which made him look like a wizard. On his right was a woman with pale skin and long flowing green hair like the girl. She wore graceful white clothing and had an owl on her shoulder. On the old man's left was a man, who was bald with pale white skin and red eyes, even red markings going down his skin. He wore black in contrast to the woman in white. Who were all these people? Some sort of gods to a religion? Like the children he saw before?
“Obi wan promise you will train the boy…”
“Yes master!”
Another voice was heard as it didn't belong to the two men it belgoned to te one person he despised his father.
"A convergence with the Ragnarok Connection? So the myth is beginning once again?!"
Lelouch then turned to see three people. One of them, a hooded man was around his height and a muscular creature that didn’t seem to be human, and a woman appeared to be standing next to a machine. The machine appeared to be creating something in the test tubes. It looked like two children, one girl and one boy. The man placed a hand on each tube and smiled at them as if he was a proud father.
“You are my brilliant creations and together we will rain chaos across not just our own galaxy but the entire universe all for the sake of our Regime!”
Lelouch then shouted.
“YES I HEREBY ACCEPT YOUR CONTRACT!” His voice echoed as he was now back in reality.
Lelouch reopened his eyes and there he saw the girl again smiling; he knew he could not allow her sacrifice to be all for nothing. Then he looked to see Luke standing between him and royal soldiers as he placed his hand over his left eye.
Luke on the other hand felt something that was both unfamiliar and familiar. He felt it from the girl and he felt it inside Lelouch just then the student broke the silence.
“Tell me how would it feel for someone like a Britannian to despise his own country and live their own life?”
"Huh? What kind of question is that? Are you a radical?!"
Luke then said to himself "He almost talks like a rebel but what changed?" Lelouch chuckled and said tilting his head.
"What's the matter? Afraid to shoot your opponents who are unarmed or have you come to realise that: The only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed!"
Luke had a confused look until he saw Lelouch stepping forward while uncovering his left as it flashed the same red symbol as the girl.
"What the hell's happening!?" Luke sees Lelouch waving his hand as he shouted.
"NOW! I Lelouch Vi Britannia command every last one of you standing here DIE!" The red mark flashed and travelled like a bird into the eyes of all the guards who all looked at Lelouch.
The red mark flashed and travelled like a bird into the eyes of all the guards who all looked at Lelouch.
The scar faced captain once baffled began to laugh like a madman as Luke noticed he had red rings in his eyes. “Happily your highness!” He pointed his gun to his neck as did the rest of the soldiers as the captain yelled. “FIRE!”
In just a few seconds the royal guard shot themselves resulting in their deaths both Luke and Leloulch had shocked looks on their faces on what just happened.
Unknown location
Somewhere far away from all the chaos is a Tall Man with Black Hair. He has an Elaborate Eye-Patch with two purple crystals hanging from the end and one underneath his Left Eye. His Attire is a Black-and-Gold Suit with the Engraved Symbol of a Sith emblem on it he appeared to be in some sort of chamber meditating then opened his yellow eyes as he then said
“Good, she has gone and given him the Geass just as foretold it has begun!” He chuckles very sinisterly throughout the chamber as his yellow eye glowed.
Back with Luke and Lelouch they saw what the young student had just done
Like then spies his communicator as he picked it up as he heard Leia on the other side
“ Luke, are you there? ” Luke then said as he picked it up “Yeah I’m here Leia!”
“Luke, what happened, is everything okay?!" Han yelled.
Luke then turned to see Lelouch still in shock.
"I… don't know I’m completely shocked at what happened on my end…" Luke said, and he really meant it. The way Lelouch commanded the soldiers, and especially the wave he made with his hand—reminded him so much of when Ben Kenobi did the mind trick on the stormtroopers back on Tatooine.
The feeling… the feeling in the Force he had been sensing… did it belong to… Lelouch? Was he…Just like him?
Second, he called himself Lelouch vi Britannia. His last name… was Britannia? Like… Prince Clovis? But… but that would mean…
Lelouch was still not over what he had just done and was then overcome by a moment of truth.
Luke didn't know what Lelouch's next reaction would be—but he didn't expect the student's expression of shock to turn into that of a malevolent smile that almost resembled that of… A demon.
Luke then walks over to Lelouch who kneeled in front of the dead girl to check a pulse.
"She's dead?" Lelouch then said with solemn nod "Yep really wish we could have known her name before she died but it looks like we'll never know who she was!"
Luke then said. "What did she do to you?" Lelouch then said while placing his hand over his left eye.
"Not sure but the moment she died she grabbed my hand and bestowed this power to me..." Lelouch felt his eye twitch "I don't know what she wanted to do but why choose me to have this odd power?"
Luke glanced at the girl then back to Lelouch as he came to think Lelouch may have acquired his new power from the unknown girl.
BOOM!
"Oh no!" Luke said right as a Sutherland rolled into the warehouse the Knightmare's head opened and scanned the area as the pilot was Villetta Nu who gasped at the sight of the dead guards as she looked at Luke and lelouch.
"What happened here boys? Are you both Britannian students? Answer me!" She then gave a warning shot to the boys as she fired at a wall "ANSWER ME!"
Luke looked at Lelouch who nodded back at him.
Lelouch said to Sutherland. "I order you to come out of there at once!" Lelouch used his power as he glared at Sutherland but nothing happened.
Villetta then said. "Who the hell do you think you are to give orders to me!?" As this resulted in Luke and Lelouch gasping in shock. Luke whispers. "It didn't work!"
As Lelouch whispered back, "Looks like I need to make eye contact in order for it to work.."
Luke nodded. "Guess there's a limit on what you're able to do!" Villetta then shouted to the whispering duo. "Answer my question, who are you?"
Lelouch then said making up a lie. "My name is Alan Spacer! My father is Davis Spacer and this man beside me is my trusted manservant who has served my family for a long time, Mark hamill.."
"Nobility?" Villetta said in surprise Lelouch nodded and continued to speak. "And as you can see he was badly injured. We were caught up in a crossfire and he was protecting me. It would be helpful if you could provide us a first aid kit!"
"And how do I know what you say is the truth?" Viletta said to them suspiciously.
"My ID card is in my left breast pocket. Once you confirm it I must ask for aid and protection.." Lelouch said pompously.
Villetta then decided to unplugged her ignition key and jumped out from her sutherland and approached the two with gun in hand "Both of you keep your hands where I can see them I will look at your ID.."
'Gotcha!' Lelouch thought to himself as he said as his left eye glows. "Now be so kind and hand over your Knightmare to me.." And this time it worked. Luke saw the red rings over her eyes as a sign to say she was now Lelouch's puppet. She tossed her key to Lelouch saying. "Understood the code XG21G2D4!" Lelouch nodded saying, "Got it!"
Several hours later Villetta opened her eyes and saw she was in the warehouse but the duke and his butler were gone, as was her knightmare.
A medical droid then said to the guests in the room. “The patient is now stable, you are now able to see him!” Lloyd and Cecile nodded as they watched the droid leave the room to tend more injured people.
Lloyd asked casually to the now awake Suzaku “Are we having a bad day?” Suzaku then sees had bandages over his torso “And it looks like you missed a chance to go to heaven, Private Kururugi..” “Not a surprise..” Suzaku said as he tried to stand up “Not so fast the medical droid said you need to heal the bullet wound and did a good number on you!” Ceclie said to him
Lloyd chuckled and mentioned the medical droid. “And I’m still amazed that robots are doctors from our friends from the other side and if you're wondering where we are we’re still in Shinjuku ghetto…”
“What news on the situation?” Llyoyd then said “Well it would appear that the poison gas was released." Suzaku gasped at that. "Massive Eleven casualties have been reported."
"They haven't caught the perpetrators yet." Cecile added, having a worried face.
"They haven't, huh? Not yet?" Suzaku said. But he was there. In that capsule… there was no poison gas. It was a girl. And still the captain said…
"Private Kururugi?" Lloyd asked. "How much experience do you have in piloting a Knightmare Frame?"
That caught Suzaku literally off guard. Piloting a Knightmare? Just for him, an Eleven, even though he was just an Honorary Britannian, that was impossible. Knightmare units were off-limits to Eleven soldiers. Was this man serious?
"But… there's no way an Eleven would be made a knight." Lloyd simply smiled at Suzaku as he held up a golden ignition key. "Well, supposing you could."
Suzaku widened his eyes that this was really happening. "Congratulations!" Lloyd praised Suzaku as he said. "The only Knightmare of its kind awaits you! Once you take control of this big beauty, everything will change: You and your world."
"Whether you want it to or not." Cecile added.
Ceclie nodded and said “With Prince Clovis nearby this was the safest place..” She then pulls out a watch “This is what saved your life!” Lloyd nodded and said. “Indeed you're one lucky chap that it was under your suit because that’s what deflected the bullet…”
Suzkau had a sad lock to see his father’s watch a bit cracked no doubt the bullet hit there instead of his heart as he held the watch. “Is the watch a keepsake?” Suzaku then stopped looking at the watch and said “Oh yes it is…”
“You elevens believe that gods live inside of everything don’t you?” Suzaku wanted to say something about his friend but not in front of Llyod and Celile instead said on the thing at hand.
Somewhere else the same woman and man who had attended Prince Clovis’s party was looking at the carnage being unleashed on the place as a protocol droid similar to that of Threepio walked over however his colour scheme was black as he said.
“Master Am and Master Karre I was wondering where you were onboard!” The woman now known as Am said as if pleased that she got a front row to a movie.
“Isn’t it wonderful B-20N, all this destruction is quite wonderful? It's a work of art that brings me joy and scares the minds of those who refuse to follow the commands and besides look at them these rebels have nowhere to go and nowhere to run…”
As Am was watching the show as Britannia’s were killing a lot of innocent people. B-20N then said looking at the view. “Oh yes it is despite but yet there is something else on your minds?” Karre then said speaking to the droid.
“Indeed there is B-20N. I feel like the force is telling us there is something else on the planet or rather someone who is quite strong in the force…”
in the Sutherland that was once Villetta's, Lelouch and Luke were the ones occupying it, with Lelouch piloting in the seat, with Luke having to scrunch in the back. Thankfully a first aid kit was supplied in the Knightmare for Lelouch to disinfect and wrap Luke's arm wound. Skywalker didn't know which was worse—laser fire wounds or the wound of the bullet he took. Anyway, Lelouch said that it was likely a flesh wound and there was no fear since the bullet wasn’t inside his muscle.
Luke shows a small smile and said “Thanks for the aid but however I think I’m not find being scrunched up the back Lelouch then said with a apologetic look. “Sorry but I’m not sure that the Sutherlands are built for two people..” Luke then said. “Perhaps you should let me fly this thing. I am a pilot!”
Lelouch then said looking at Lelouch while raising an eyebrow “You're a pilot? Are you from the military or something?” Luke then said
“Not really it’s sort of a long story and a lot to take if you can believe me..”
Lelouch pondered what the blond man’s goal was in this Lelouch thought he should use his new power to make him tell him but however Luke saved his life so he decided it would be best to have an ally around for the time being and for some reason Lelouch felt like he could trust Luke.
Luke then said as he looked at the destruction “This place was wonderful now look what’s happened to it!” "It has become a warzone." Lelouch reddened, that fact amplified as they heard more explosions from everywhere.
"Why…" Luke started to grit his teeth. "How could… they be doing this?!" Lelouch narrowed his eyes and wondered for a bit. Before long, he pulled up and opened his phone. "What are you doing?" Luke asked. "Making a quick call," Lelouch said to Luke as he put the phone to his ear.
As opposed to the chaos and the madness everything was somewhat peaceful at Ashford academy In the girl's locker room, several girls were getting ready to begin swim class, but in the meantime most of them were sitting down chatting over snacks and tv. One of them in particular was Shirley who had changed from her school uniform to her dark-blue one-piece swimsuit.
Until she heard the noise of her Iphone ringing she picked it up
“Hey Shirley," Lelouch's voice answered.
"Lulu?!" She widened her eyes to hear her friend's voice. "What in the world have you been doing? Where are you now?!" She now became irritated at Lelouch. "If you keep cutting class, you'll get held back."
“ Listen, are you close to a tv? I need you to change the channel to the news” Shirley had a confused look on her face but she decided to do it Shirley then said
“Hmm it looks like there isn’t anything on..” Until she spies something out of place “Traffic restrictions?”
Why is it restricted?" "I’m not sure." Shirley said as she continued to observe the readings. "They're not saying. Are you around Shinjuku?" Lelouch was a bit hesitant to answer until Shirley said
“You're gambling again aren’t you!?” Shirley shook her head in outrage and in disapproval. "I told you yesterday! How dangerous it is!"
" Yep. You caught me." He answered back so casually. "Huh?" Shirley said, baffled at the reply.
" By the way, tell Nana that I'm gonna be home late tonight, would you. Thanks Shirley." With that, the call ended.
"What?!" Shirley held the phone up and saw that Lelouch indeed hung up on her. "That jerk! He hung up on me!" The girl went to dial Lelouch's number again, only to get a voicemail that the server was not in range. "Oh, darn it!"
“Guess they don’t want anyone else to know what's really going on!” Lelouch nodded and said “Yep and once they wrap it up they release the news that favours the military.”
Luke growls as he grits his teeth “Oh those little!” Lelouch nodded and said “And we’re pinned down it’s gonna be hard for us to get the heck outta here!”
“Even so I won’t let them get away with this!” Luke said as Lelouch then said “Yeah and it’s fair that we got some payback for being dragged into all this!”
“And that is?” Asked Luke while looking at him who said “If you want to see a stop all this mindless chaos and carnage… then listen to what I’ve got planned."
" Threepio! Do you read me?" Everyone gasped to hear Luke's voice again on the com Threepio still held.
"Oh, at last, Master Luke!" Threepio said joyfully. "Oh thank the maker we were really-” Leia took the com out of the Droid's hand and said “Luke where are you safe?”
Han nodded as he asked “And who the hell was the other guy on the com?" Han asked.
" You don't worry about him anymore Han," Luke said. "He and his squad have been dealt with!” Chewie whimpered with concern.
"Luke…" Han said, baffled. "What did you do?" "Luke, it might be best to head back to the Falcon and tell us everything when you get back ," Leia said.
Luke however answered back regretfully “Sorry guys not yet there’s something I have to finish up and besides I’m not alone…” Han then said
“Luke, who are you with? Are they friendly?” Luke then said
“Sorry I have to go, I'll be back soon, promise..” Leia then yelled. “Luke Skywalker you come back to the falcon this very-”
But however Luke hanged up.
Luke sighed and said as he and Lelouch got out of the Knightmare with worry in his voice. “I’m so gonna get scolded by Leia later.” Lelouch then said hearing the conversation “Sounds like your friends are worried for you…”
Luke chuckled and said “Yours as well.” The two give each other grins knowing it was cute that their friends were worried for them.
Lelouch then spies something scattered toys and some scattered chess pieces. Luke looked to see the student picking up strange pieces. "What are those?"
"What?" Lelouch raised an eyebrow. "Have you never seen a chess piece in your life?" "What is chess?" Luke said, having no idea what chess. "For real?!" Lelouch said in complete shock to hear who the heck had never heard of chess?
Suddenly, appearing in front of them was another Britannian Sutherland. Both youths almost froze when the Knightmare aimed its gun at them, only to lower it. “You're not eleven, what are you both doing?” Luke had a worried look yet Lelouch on the other hand had a smirk as he saw the other Sutherland once he looks at the black king piece
“I need to set my board. And a king needs his pawns." He grinned as he glanced from Luke to the Sutherland. "And this is the part where I promote my pawn to knight." As he said the pilot stepped out of the knightmare before pointing his gun at Lelouch who grins using his magic eye to give Luke his knightmare.
After destroying one military aircraft with her slash harken, Kallen noticed two Sutherlands coming behind her.
"Well, well," Kallen gasped as she recognized that voice as her eyes widened. "It's our little Glasgow friend." Jeremiah grinned as he started shooting at Kallen, forcing the girl to run away.
There came a beeping, and the girl noticed the Glasgow's battery was running low. " Just 30 minutes?!" She was about to panic when she heard a voice on her comms, and it was not Ohgi or anyone she was familiar with.
" The west entrance. Use the tracks to move to the west entrance!" "Who's this?!" Kallen demanded. "How do you know this code?!"
" That doesn't matter right now! If you want to win, you're just going to have to trust me!"
"To win?" That caught Kallen off guard. She decided to follow the strange voice's advice and had the Glasgow jump from the streets up onto the upper railway. "Okay! What am I supposed to do now?!"
Unfortunately, coming right behind her was Jeremiah with another Sutherland. "You pathetic Eleven. If you simply run away, this hunt doesn't have much to offer in the way of sport." Kallen noticed a train coming towards her.
" Since you trusted me, you're gonna win." The voice said. "Jump onto the train!" "Gotcha!" Kallen did so, and her Glasgow hopped over and continued to do so over the roofs of the compartments.
“You think you can get through that way, huh?" Jeremiah placed a robotic hand against the front of the train and stopped it in its tracks. He gestured to his partner. "You, go after the Glasgow!"
"Yes, my lord!" The soldier said, but just as he jumped in the air—a slash harken appeared out of nowhere and demolished him without a hint of mercy.
"What the-!" Jeremiah exclaimed, he looked to his left, and saw the slash harkens had come Sutherland hiding in the ruins of a building. "Shot by friendly?! What's your name and your unit?!"
Luke smirked and remained silent as he aimed his gun and fired at Jeremiah. “Oh no a terrorist!” Jeremiah said panicking as that left him wide open as Kallen using the train’s speed was coming at fast
With little choice ejected from his Knightmare and blasted away from the conflict
"You saved me," Kallen smiled. "But how did you get a hold of a Sutherland?" Her smile disappeared when she noticed her saviour had vanished from the building. "Where did he go?"
"Kallen?!" Ohgi called out as he approached her Glasgow on foot alongside Tamaki, Minami, and Inoue. Each of them had rifles. "What the hell was that radio message earlier?"
"What?" Kallen asked, surprised. "He contacted you, too?" "They sure did," Ohgi nodded. "And Yoshida's group oughta be here soon."
Ohgi then heard his radio buzzing again, he then went to answer it. As he heard the voice
“Tell me are you in charge?” Ohgi was confused but said “Yes I am!”
“May I present to you the cargo in that train over there. They're tools for your victory. If you want to use them to win—then follow my orders."
Kallen was the first to open the compartments—and her eyes widened to see a fresh set of Sutherland Knightmares inside. All of them at their disposal. "There's more in here!" Inoue exclaimed to the group.
"Yeah, and in here, too!" Tamaki said completely shocked.
"Amazing this is amazing!" Sugiyama smiled as he opened to find another set. They were barely lucky to steal only one outdated Glasgow, but now having a whole squadron of new state-of-the-art Sutherland reserved only for Britannia—they had hit the jackpot. "Maybe we should give this guy a chance!"
"All this…" Kallen was trying to comprehend. "But how and?" " Woman in the Glasgow?" The voice came again.
"Y-Yes that’s me!" She answered.
" Stay where you are. Your unit's going to run decoy, you understand?"
"Understood."
" Energy filler status?"
"About 15 minute's worth."
" Then recharge it. In 10 minutes, I'll contact you with your next instructions."
Far away, hiding in one of the ruined buildings, was where Lelouch was with his own Sutherland. He closed his comm to Kallen and took an exhausted breath.
“This might be starting to wear my stamina out!” “Are you Okay K?” Lelouch nodded and said “I’m okay thanks Red 5!”
Luke then said “It’s cool, glad I was able to run decoy. It's smart really!” Lelouch nodded and said “Yeah to them Red-5 doesn't exist. He'll be my decoy on the field, and I'll be the commander from far away."
"Well, you said you are a pilot, if what you said was true. Were really serious when you said you never piloted a Knightmare before?" Said lelouch
"I guess I’m a fast learner when it comes to these sorts of things..” Luke said proudly.
As the young rebel sat in knightmare in a secret hiding place among the ruins. Like the female Britannian pilot, Lelouch was able to get the other Britannian pilot who found them to come out and did the same with his… eye; and so on he had the pilot forget this and thus Luke had obtained a Knightmare frame of his own.
Not only did he have the room he desired, but the controls were really amazing. It was far different than that of an Imperial AS-ST or his own personal X-Wing in the rebellion
Which he had grown accustomed to flying for years. There were monitors, levers, and pedals to control the movements of the autonomous being. The movement of the machine felt flexible compared to his past piloting. Even though there was a manual, there was definitely no time to read all the basics.
All Luke needed to do was follow Lelouch's lead… Or he should say K's lead.
They had both agreed not to use their actual names while contacting each other, in the case Lelouch pointed out the risk that their lines may be hotwired, and the enemy would know. Not that Luke had told Lelouch his name yet. Although, the rebel did know his full name.
Now wasn't the time.
Lelouch had asked Luke to call him K. Luke had asked why, and Lelouch held up the black piece which he identified as King. K for King—as in leader.
Lelouch said he would call Luke N-1, but however Luke had asked instead that Lelouch would call him by a different name then the one given to him… a name Luke had been used to since he first piloted an X-Wing.
Red-5.
Luke smiled nostalgically at that. The name he had been given when he joined Red Squadron on the day of the Battle of Yavin. Though he had been promoted to air commander, he somehow knew he had begun as Red-5 and destroyed the Death Star.
But for now he had to focus at the task at hand.
G1 Base
"The terrorists are a mix of the Eleven populace and they're mounting a minor resistance against us." Bartley said he and the other military advisors, even Karre and Am, stood over the holographic table showing the map of Shinjuku. "But they pose little threat to our vastly superior army."
"We know that." Clovis said, as he sat on his throne. "Moving on…" "Understood, Your Highness. The gas capsules will be—"
"What the public thinks" "Yes. We'll keep searching for her." "Either way," Clovis put a hand to his head. "I want her captured, dead or alive."
"Hey, Ohgi!" Tamaki called out to Ohgi, who was now piloting a Sutherland of his own. "Are you certain about all this? I mean what if this guy is leading us into a trap!"
"All right, people, let's move! Get to your assigned points—"
"P-1, can you move?" There came that mysterious voice again from his walkie. "It operates basically the same as what you're used to."
Ohgi put the walkie to his ear. "Can't you tell us who you are? At least your name."
"I can't do that, at least not yet. What if these signals are being intercepted? Anyway, if Q-1 is on schedule, enemy Sutherlands, probably two of them, will reach you in 23 seconds. Shoot them through the wall."
Ohgi widened his eyes at that. "Aah! He's out of his mind!" Tamaki exclaimed.
"Everyone," Ohgi said with a serious look forming in his eyes. "Double-check your weapons."
"What are you serious?!" Yelled a comical Tamaki.
Karre then said looking at the map “Looks like the enemy was last spotted at F-31!” A feint, eh?" Clovis said, amused. "How pedestrian."
"Tell Lazlo Squad to go straight in!" Bartley commanded, while looking at the screen. "Have Eugen and Valerie strike from the rear!" Am wondered what their plan was.
“FIRE!” Ohgi and his comrades in their Sutherlands aimed and fired at a wall—though they didn't see it at first—they ended up catching off guard and obliterating two Britannian Sutherlands.
G1 Base
"Sir Eugen and Sir Valerie, both lost!" An officer exclaimed.
"Huh?" Clovis said, surprised. "An ambush?!" Am chuckled and said to herself “Clever move! I think I might know what could be aiding them!”
Lelouch chuckled. "An ID signal can be used as a double-edged sword. Besides, if the terrorists follow the orders I issue—the task at hand is sure to be completed." He then resumed to give orders again. "P-1, P-4, P-7, move 100 metres to the right and fire your slash harkens toward three o'clock."
"You heard him!" Ohgi said. "Do what the voice says!"
"Damn, what else does he want us to do?!" Tamaki exclaimed before getting into his own Sutherland.
" P-5, ready?" Tamaki heard the voice, and realised he was referring to him. "Agh! Will you quit callin' me that!" The hothead groaned before getting in his Sutherland and taking the fight to his foes.
A resistance Sutherland fired their slash harkens on a Britannian Knightmare, shocking the pilot inside.
"Argh! They're using the same—" He couldn't finish as he was then obliterated by the slash harkens.
"The enemy's moving towards G-28!"
"Sent Lazlo Squad—I mean Glaube Squad!" Bartley exclaimed, the man now sweating more than normal.
Clovis was starting to observe the situation with his full attention. "This means… terrorists have our military weaponry?"
"Sir Glaube has ejected! His units have been lost!" "Change our codes you idiot!" Bartley said. "They're intercepting our transmission!" "We already have, sir! Four times!"
"Do it AGAIN!" "This failure is unacceptable!" Clovis exclaimed, now standing up.
"Ugh!" Bartley said. "Forgive me!"
" Good afternoon!" Everyone looked in shock as Lloyd appeared on the screen before them, with a casual look on his face.
"What is it?!" Bartley asked, irritated. How many times was this nut going to bug today? "We're in the middle of an operation!"
" I'd say it's time to deploy the ASEEC's special weapon." "We have no time for this right now!" Clovis yelled.
Karre was impressed on how well his foes were doing
“R-2, fire anchor." Lelouch instructed the resistance fighters through the radio, all the while tapping different chess pieces near his console. "B-7, use U.N. ordnance. N-Group, you'll continue your advance."
The Resistance yelled war cries as they piloted their Sutherlands and fired at Lazlo Squad.
"You bloody Elevens!" That was the last thing the leader of Lazlo Squad could say before he and his squad were shot to pieces.
G1 Base
"We just lost Lazlo squad!" "So do it!" Clovis said as he stepped in front of the table map. "We'll have to bring up Quincy's squad!"
"But my lord, that will break the encirclement!" Bartley protested. Am somehow found a waste of her time.
" Now then." Lelouch thought. "The enemy has five options. Their move."
Reinforce the breach with some of the units guarding me. All we know for certain is that enemy forces are here!" Clovis said.
Jeremiah, having made a way far from where he had ejected and toward the G1 Base, saw units from the encirclement entering the Ghetto.
"What?" Margrave said, baffled. "Who ordered them to break formation?"
"So," Luke said as he saw on the map in his Sutherland. "Without any additional reinforcements, they decided to recycle their own protection."
"Well, that's a more stupid move than I expected." Lelouch said as he saw Clovis's former surrounding units going in effort to surround the rebels. He then pulled up the walkie. "You, Q-1, do you have an area map?"
"Yes, I have a map of the old town." Kallen answered. "But it has no current landmarks."
"It'll do."
"All right." Clovis turned to Bartley with a confident smile. "Send in Bertz and the others, too!"
"Mission number three now." Lelouch said.
G1 Base
"Concentrate our forces there! Surround them!" Clovis said.
"Is everything prepared?" Lelouch asked.
G1 Base
"The enemy's main force is that centre dot!" Clovis smirked seeing his forces going in to surround the unknown mark in the centre. "Finish every last one of them off!"
If Karre had his helmet he would know it was all a trap settled by the terrorist as his eyes widened until it was too little too late.
Kallen's Glasgow shot a slash harken at the wall, causing it to crack. The crack eventually collapsed Clovis's forces down below.
Clovis, along with everyone with him gasped in shock and horror as all the forces they had sent in—all went offline.
Luke looked with wide eyes at the lost units on the map displayed on his console.
"He… he led them all… into a trap?" Luke said, before he then heard Lelouch laughing maniacally through the walkie.
"My plan worked, didn't it?! I can do it! I can! I can defeat Britannia!"
"Not even I could have planned out something like that… perhaps not as fast as Lelouch did." Luke thought. "He is dressed up like a student… but it's like he has the mind of a general… no… an admiral. Who exactly is he and what’s his endgoals to all this?"
Clovis screamed as anger burned in his mind Am scoffed as she said. "I think it's about time we took our leave B20N Karre! What world of our troopers."
"All Matrix troopers have been evacuated from the ghetto!" The droid said while Karre said, "Indeed there's nothing we can do here except leave!" Clovis then sees them heading straight to the exit.
"Hey where are you going, weren't you here to help me win this battle? Your Acolytes if so then get your asses down there and crush the enemy!" Am however scoffed at the pathetic coward that was Clovis.
"I was sent here on my Master's orders to track down the two Jedi aiding the rebels but it would appear they're a no show so we're taking our leave farewell Clovis!"
The doors closed as Am and Karre had left the room as Clovis then yelled as he turned the screen to see Lloyd.
"Yes, anything I can help you with your highness?" Clovis looked like he was about to lose and said.
"Can it win? Will your toy beat them?!" "Hmph." Lloyd said as he grinned. "My lord. Please be so kind as to call it the Lancelot."
Suzaku suited up in a pilot suit over his bandages. The pilot suit was white and black with gold lines and a bit of green on each shoulder. In his hand, was the ignition key to the supposed 'Lancelot' he was going to pilot.
" Did you read the manual?" Cecile asked through the comms on his ear. Suzkau nodded “Yep!”
Well done. You scored at the top of the class in the simulator."
"Hey, look," Suzaku started walking out of the ambulance truck. "About what you told me earlier—"
" Huh?" Cecile questioned. "Ah… It could be, but the possibility is nearly zero."
"But that means there's still a chance, right?" Suzaku made his way outside, towards the cloaked Knightmare outside the G1 Base.
" Yes, I'm afraid that's true." Cecile said, concerned. "Even so, you're not to do anything reckless. The new system is not outfitted with an ejection mechanism."
"Okay, I understand, Miss Cecile." No ejection. No turning back. Fine by him.
After a few mechanisms opened, the Knightmare was finally uncloaked, allowing Suzaku to look with wide eyes at what he was seeing. "That's it?"
Standing before him was the Lancelot. The Knightmare frame looked slimmer and sharper than a Sutherland or Glasgow. It was armoured white with gold plates around it. The head looked more humanoid and almost like a helmet mask made out of white and gold, with emerald-green eyes. It was equipped with far advanced weapons.
" Yes," Cecile answered. "The advanced weapon developed by us in the Advanced Special Envoy Engineering Corps: Lancelot. The world's first 7th generation Knightmare Frame."
"Well, if you're ready Suzaku shall we proceed with the initial start-up?" Lloyd as he, Cecile, and another engineer stood right behind Lancelot with monitors around them.
" Initial start-up now proceeding from phase 20. Equipping energy filler." Cecile said, as a mechanism plug a battery into the Knightmare.
" Confirm pre-start. Energy filler now at full output. Thirty seconds to reach critical voltage. Core luminous, shifting phase. Yggdrasil Drive."
"Initiating device setup." Cecile said. " Confirming entry of devicer into Z-0-1"
Suzaku finally got into the cockpit of the Lancelot. " Individual ID registration, confirmed."
Suzaku plugged the golden ignition key into the slot. " Confirm man-machine interface, engaged. Yggdrasil resonance, confirmed." Suzaku grabbed both controls and got ready.
" Rejection response: weak. Devicer stress response: weak. All readings are nominal." "So far, it's going per the data." Lloyd said.
The ambulance trucks drove out in order to not stand in the Lancelot's way. " Status of back-up tactical bank, authorised. Secondary confirmation given."
The Lancelot then bent in position. It then produced wheels on its legs. Then the tubes connecting it shot out. "Lancelot," Suzaku said, now ready. "Activate M.E. boost!"
"Lancelot…" Cecile said. "LAUNCH!" Finally, the Lancelot shot out from the carrier and into the open towards Shinjuku. It skidded so fast as if it were a skater on ice. It boosted out with such force, it caused a strong gust of wind to knock Lloyd and Cecile back.
Lloyd laughed. "Running full throttle right out of the gate!" Back with the Lancelot, Suzaku was in awe at how precise and smooth compared to other Knightmares. "Cooler than the manual! With this…" Suzaku groaned in pain a bit, still feeling the wound on his chest from earlier.
“What’s that?” Tamaki said as he saw the incoming Lancelot speeding towards him. "It doesn't look like a Suther-"
He didn't get to finish the sentence as the Lancelot quickly knocked the Sutherland's head off, forcing him to eject.
Luke and Lelouch the battle was won until they heard com chatter
Everyone ejected, but they took out four units and nothing flat!"
"Enemy numbers?"
" Just one! I think it's a new model! Never seen anything like—AH!
“You bastard!" The resistance Sutherlands yelled as they shot at the Lancelot, but the white Knightmare held up his arm and projected a green luminous shield, deflecting the bullets.
"What?!" He heard Lelouch exclaim. "It reflects bullets?!"
" If it reflects bullets, that means…" Luke thought, as he heard the same info as well and thought. "It has a shield of its own?! Damn it! I knew this victory was too easy!"
Lelouch on the other hand looked frustrated as he was disappointed by them. "Useless, so-called terrorists. Despite the resources I have given them—they're being beaten by one unit."
The Lancelot whipped out a long slash harken which he used like a whip to hit a Sutherland, before he jumped in the air to bring his foot down on the other one.
"Yes, I can do this!" Suzaku said, with newfound determination in his mind. "With Lancelot, I can stop all this at once!"
“ N-4, N-5, hold there! When the rear units arrive, surround that thing!" “Copy that!” They affirmed as they fired on the Lancelot, but its shields blocked all fire, causing a fog of smoke to hide it. The Lancelot used his hands to swipe and jab at the Knightmares as if they were paper toys.
"We can't stop it!" N-5 exclaimed with horror, before the Lancelot slashed and hardened him.
Am and Karre who were onboard a shuttle watched the Lancelot take out the enemies with ease
“I’m most impressed at Apslund’s little the Lancelot appears to be making quick work!” She then gains a smirk as Karre said
“Do you want one Am?” Am chuckled “Maybe I, after all I’m a skilled pilot as well but for the moment it’s wise to watch how our enemies deal with the Lancelot..”
Karre nodded to his sister as they watched the action through the holo-projector.
The battle was falling back into the enemies favour as Lelouch switched the com knowing that P-1 was most likely defeated “Red 5 are you there Luke you still standing?”
“I’m okay whatever this thing is, it's powerful and if I do fight it I’ll be heading to my grave!” Lelouch then said
“Stay hidden and whatever you do, don't let it catch you!” He then had a worried look “How can one unit take on an army?’
"These readings are even higher than predicted." Cecile said as she and Lloyd observed the computer screen regarding the Lancelot.
"It's because our pilot is taking his job very seriously." Lloyd said, impressed. As if there was any doubt his creation couldn't exceed their expectations.
The Lancelot took down a squad of Sutherlands with both of his slash harkens acting as his whips.
"If I can stop all of these Knightmares then this battle is over." Suzaku thought with determination. "No matter what it takes: I got to save Lelouch, as well as that guy and girl!"
His scanners then picked up another Sutherland signal hiding in the upper levels of a ruin building in front of him. He narrowed his eyes.
The Lancelot slash harkened to one of the upper levels, acting as a grappling hook to help him ascend up and found Lelouch's Sutherland.
Lelouch gasped and then had his Sutherland block the Lancelot's punch. "You mean this thing's what's ruining my plan?!"
-
"Oh, no!" Luke exclaimed in horror as he saw what was happening. "He found Lelouch! This is bad! Really bad!" The rebel took the controls to his Sutherland and boosted from his hiding place towards Lelouch's location. "Even if it may be powerful, I can't let Lelouch get captured or worse killed!"
The Lancelot continued tugging at Lelouch's Sutherland, not knowing who exactly it was piloting it.
"Are you the guy that's in command?!" Suzaku demanded.
Lelouch grunted. “And what if I am in command!?”
Unfortunately, the force between them caused the floor below them to collapse, and both Knightmares fell several stories down.
Lelouch started to regain his bearings. "No choice. I gotta get out of here." Before he could do so, he looked up in horror from his screen to see the Lancelot jumping in the air towards him. The Knightmare made a spinning kick that sent Lelouch's Sutherland back.
The Lancelot was ready to finish him with his slash harken, until something stopped him.
"What the Red 5 is that you?” Only to see it was the red Glasgow instead as Kallen called out with a smirk
“Just returning the favour!”
The Glasgow fired a slash harken at the Lancelot, but managed to catch it with his other hand. Kallen froze when the Lancelot started crushing her last arm with his hand, while ripping out her slash harken.
"I can't!" Kallen was forced to eject from the Glasgow. Fortunately, the sacrifice of her Knightmare was not in vain, as it gave Lelouch time to gain distance from the white Knightmare.
" I need to make sure to remember that." Lelouch thought. "The most vital element in battle is the human one."
There came a beep, and Lelouch looked behind in horror to see the Lancelot gaining up with him. He then fired back at it, even shooting up at the ruined buildings, but the white Knightmare dodged all his bullets.
"That damn monster's unstoppable!" Lelouch yelled in horror.
The Lancelot kept skidding across the street gaining pace with Lelouch's Sutherland.
"Bastard!" Suzaku gritted his teeth as he locked on to the Sutherland. "He's tearing things up for no reason!"
CLASH!
Coming out from one of the ruins, Luke's Sutherland jumped out and tackled the Lancelot, giving a surprise punch to the face.
Karre then said looking at the Sutherland through the holo projector. “That pilot in that Sutherland!” Am nodded to her brother. “Yes I feel as well to the Force is strong with him…”
Luke skids to a halt and says “Now I get it! Its arm is the one producing the shield!"
"Ugh! That was close!" Suzaku grunted, focusing now on the Sutherland before him. "This one seems different from the others. I better be careful around this one."
Lelouch looked back in shock. "What are you doing here Red 5?!" He communicated to Luke while making sure not to say his name out loud.
Luke in his Sutherland grunted a bit, before standing the Knightmare straight in front of the Lancelot. "I'm returning the favour as well. Now get out of here!"
"You can't fight that thing!" Lelouch yelled. "It's unstoppable!" Luke then said “Do you trust me?”
Lelouch was confused as Luke said it again “DO YOU TRUST ME!?” Lelouch was silent before nodding at him before retreating back
"Here it goes!" Luke yelled as he skidded towards the Lancelot. Suzaku narrowed his eyes at the Knightmare. "He's distracting me from the leader, I can't let anything get in my way!"
The Lancelot tried jabbing at him, but Luke managed to barely dodge his attacks and made distance from him.
" If he so much as get's a hit on me, I'm as good as done! I need to be on my toes at all time" Luke thought. The Lancelot went again to jab Luke.
"He knows how to move his Knightmare fast!" Suzaku said. "But it won't be long now until I finally have him!"
The Lancelot then produced a whip and sprang towards Luke. Luke barely dodged the whip as managed to scratch at his Sutherland’s left arm.
"Dah!" Luke grunted. "That was close! This thing is definitely an upgrade from the other Knightmares. A bigger fish. It has a shield and is fast. I don't think this Sutherland is going to do the job. Perhaps, my lightsaber can cut through that armour, but still…"
Then came a woman's scream, freezing both Suzaku and Luke in their places.
They both saw a woman holding onto her baby as she was falling down from the building.
"NOOO!" Suzaku yelled, but before he could zoom to save them, Luke's Sutherland passed him.
" I need to save them!" Luke thought, ignoring the white beast behind him, the civilians came first. He then realised they were a way off from him. He tried boosting all he could. "I'm not going to make it in time to catch them! Luke then held his hand and said to himself. “Obi Wan please guide me!” As he channelled the power of the force that flowed through him Luke yelled as the woman and her child began to slowly fall Luke gasped.
He didn’t know he could use the force to slow down people and objects it felt like he unlocked a ability.
“Hmm odd, is it slowing down or something?” Lloyd asked, now becoming baffled at what he and Cecile were seeing from the Lancelot's monitor.
"I don't think so, sir…" Cecile, the woman almost in awe and shock at what she was seeing as well.
Having unlocked Force Stasis Luke rushed in and grabbed the woman and her child just in time as Luke sighed in relief
" He saved civilians in the midst of battle?" Lelouch thought.
"He saved them," Suzaku thought in awe. "He went to save them instead of fighting me. Then why… Why is he choosing to help the terrorists? And… What was that… a trick? Was I just seeing things…?" He groaned as he held the pain on his ribcage.
Luke set the mother and child in a safer space, before they bolted away in fear as they ran from the battle in front of them. Luke's Sutherland glanced at the Lancelot, who had aimed his slash harken at him… but lowered it instead leaving Luke baffled.
"He's not going to attack me? He had no problem hunting down the others, so why? Was it because…?" Thought Luke. Luke's Sutherland and the Lancelot stood there for a moment staring at each other. The air was almost thick with tension amongst the ruins of the street.
After a moment, Luke's Sutherland boosted away from the Lancelot. The Lancelot did not follow, with a bewildered Suzaku left to ponder what just happened.
Am simply chuckled as she turned the holo projector off tossing it away and said.
“It appears that the two Jedi we are chasing aren’t the only Jedi around this new Jedi might prove to be worth my time!” Karre picks up the holo projector as he was impressed on the person in the Sutherland’s kind and heroic act for that woman and her child.
Once they were in the clear Luke and Lelouch got out of their respective Knightmares as Lelouch was completely baffled.
“How the heck did you do all that!?” Luke had a confused look. “Do what?”
“I saw it! The thing with that woman you were reaching out to something…”
“Oh… right…" Luke said, there is no point in saying otherwise. "Yeah… that was me." Lelouch then said. “I never got your name before all this mess and chaos started.” Luke smiles friendly and says as he offers a hand to Lelouch. “I’m Luke Luke Skywalker!”
“Well then it's an honour to meet you, Luke skywalker ! ” Lelouch said back as Luke then said. “And I’m a rebel commander.” Lelouch's eyes widened in surprise that Luke was a rebel. “You're not with the terrorists we were working with?" Luke shook his head. "Nor… are you a spy from another country?" He shook his head again. "Neither with?"
"Neither with any other superpower you know of… the truth… is a bit more complicated than you think." Luke said, knowing how complicated to say… that he was not of this planet. "But I promise you… if we get through this mess… I will explain everything."
Luke Skywalker.
As cool as the name sounded, it kind of sounded like the kind he would read in comic book or something he would watch in a movie. But what he was telling him… that he was an actual rebel. Neither with Britannia nor the terrorists. Was there really more to this guy than… meets the eye?
Before more could be explained Luke and lelouch heard a massive explosion as Lelouch then said. “Well your spot on about one thing your origin story can wait after we wrap this up!” Luke then said with a grin.
“So K what’s the plan here?” Lelouch then had an idea and said “Well before that Knightmare showed we managed to achieve our one job and it’s time we cut the head of the snake!”
Somewhere in the ghetto, Kallen had gotten out of her ejection pod and had made a quick getaway.
"Kallen!" She turned around and saw Ohgi. "Over here!" Kallen ran over as fast as she could
"Stop right there!" A soldier warned as he aimed at two men dressed as soldiers stopping in front of him. "This is Prince Clovis' personal transport! Show me both of your ID's."
"This is just the place we need to be." Said the soldier with blonde hair. "And barely guarded, per the plan." Lelouch said as he removed his helmet.
"Plan?" The soldier questioned.
"That's right." Lelouch said, now activating his power. "Now, I'd like you to let me and my friend pass."
"Yes, sir," The soldier lowered his gun. "Understood."
Somewhere, in what looked to be a large warehouse, the survivors of Shinjuku had gathered together along with the remaining resistance members who had survived.
"It's your fault!" An Eleven citizen exclaimed. "This is what happens when you oppose the Britannians!" "What?!" Tamaki exclaimed in anger as he was being held back from hurting anyone. "Why you gutless coward!"
"How many people were killed because of this!" A woman cried out.
"Shut up!" Tamaki yelled, raising his gun. "Do you know how many of us were killed or captured! Do ya'! Quit cryin'!" "Put it down, Tamaki!" Yoshida exclaimed.
Recently entering the warehouse as well, were Kallen and Ohgi. "Ohgi," Kallen said. "Who was that voice we heard?"
"Damned if I know." Ohgi kneeled down. "He doesn't answer when I call, so maybe he bought it."
BOOM!
Everyone cried out when the doors exploded and coming in was a Britannian tank.
Everyone looked in shock and horror that Britannia had found them.
"There you see!" Tamaki exclaimed. "Instead of following somebody we don't even know, we should have used the poison gas!"
Ohgi didn't understand. "But he-"
"Damn Nagata to hell!" Tamaki grunted, before aiming his gun at the Britannian soldiers now surrounding them. "So, this is where you Eleven scum scurried off to." One soldier said with venom. "Prepare to fire on my command!"
Everyone cried out in horror as the soldiers aimed their guns at them. Ready to finish them here and now.
Kallen lost her composure…thinking that this… might as well be the end.
"Naoto!" She cried out as she almost felt tears ready to erupt.
" Attention, all forces!" The soldiers stopped at the sound of a voice that echoed throughout the ghetto. It was Prince Clovis' voice. "Cease fire at once!"
Both the soldiers and the Eleven populace all froze in shock.
“Ceasefire?” Suzaku said, puzzled as he still pilotied the Lancelot.
" I, Clovis, Third Prince of Britannia, and Royal Viceroy of Area 11, hereby command you! All forces are to cease fire at once! You will also cease destruction of any building or property! All casualties whether Britannian or Eleven shall be treated equally and without prejudice! Any injured Elevens will also receive the proper medical treatment and all soldiers will provide proper relief aid to all the survivors within the Shinjuku Ghetto! In the name of Clovis la Britannia—you are hereby ordered to ceasefire at once! I shall allow no further fighting.”
The lights inside the base were turned off, while Clovis sat on his throne alone in the room… well not actually alone.
To think he would be forced at gunpoint by two cretins who were hiding in the shadows. How dare they make him say that whole speech in treating the Elevens fairly as equals. It would make so much sense for two Elevens to have slimed their way inside his transport and forced him to say all of that.
"Are you both satisfied with that deed?" Clovis asked. "Very. Well done." The one pointing the gun at him said. “And not as I am thrilled with it, you know it’s a real shame.
“You are not as genuine as your speeches. A prince like you who is willing to commit genocide to cover his own dirty work."
That made Clovis grit his teeth. No one… has had the audacity to insult at such a level…
"How dare you! You dare insult me! Your lives won't be worth spit when my men…" The prince made the motion rise from his throne, till the other perpetrator pointed the gun again at him.
“I would prefer it if you stayed seated!” The man then said. “And don’t even think of your coming back soon!”
“What!?” Clovis said in outrage.
"You made the mistake when you ordered your forces to break formation. It left you vulnerable for us to catch you here all alone. It was like chess."
"Hmm?" Clovis raised his eyebrow at that. "And what does an Eleven know about chess?" Lelouch grinned and he went to remove his helmet and dropped it near Luke's feet.
"Don't you recall? The two of us used to play chess together as boys. But of course—I would always win."
"What?" That confused Clovis. "As boys?" Luke thought. "Lelouch and this guy were… what? Friends?"
"Remember?" Lelouch clicked his gun. "At the Aries Villa?"
The mention of the name of the place Clovis used to visit so many times many years ago caught his full attention. "You? Who are you?!" Lelouch stepped closer, allowing Clovis to see his face.
"It's been a long time… big brother." Clovis widened his eyes, shocked and rose from his chair instantly at the sight of someone he never thought he would see again.
"It… It can't be…" Clovis stuttered the name with his eyelids stretched out, as he couldn't comprehend the face in front of him.
"Big brother?!" Luke exclaimed and almost baulked back. "He's your brother?! Prince Clovis… is your brother?!" Skywalker looked back and forth at Lelouch and Clovis' faces, trying to find some resemblance but found nothing. "Well, technically my half-brother, but he was one of the closest of my half-siblings during my childhood at Pendragon."
"Pendragon?" Luke questioned. "But… that's…" "The capital of the Holy Empire of Britannia. At the royal palace…" Answered Lelouch. "The royal palace?!" Luke said, and he looked back at the frozen-stiff Clovis. "But if Clovis is your brother… that means…"
"Yes," Lelouch glanced back at Luke with an amused smirk. "I'm sorry, but you didn't ask. Though, I thought by now since I said my full name back there, you would have realised. Well then… allow me to reintroduce myself, Luke Skywalker." Lelouch still kept his gun focused on Clovis, while he made a wave of his hand and bow of his head towards Luke.
"The eldest child of the late consort Marianne, and 17th in line to the Imperial Britannian throne—Lelouch vi Britannia, at your service."
Luke's jaw almost dropped at that. Lelouch vi Britannia. "Of course… He said that name he said when he gave the order for those soldiers to die. The same last name as Clovis. All this time, I have been going through thick and hell with a prince of an empire?"
" But why is he here? Why was he dressed as a school student?" Luke thought more. " Shouldn't he be in a palace surrounded by soldiers and servants? Why is he not a ruler like his brother, Clovis?"
Luke then remembered something .
" Tell me, how would it feel for a Britannia who detests his own country to live his life?"
" Detests his own country. He despises it. And after the battle he pulled on Clovis' army—there's barely any doubt that he is not against them." Luke thought.
Clovis laughed a bit nervously even if he was held at gunpoint by his half brother who he thought was KIA'd.
"Why I really overjoyed Lelouch. They said you died when Japan was brought into the fold. What a blessing to have you back! We should depart for the homeland immediately!"
"So, you can use me as a tool for diplomacy, again?" Lelouch held the gun closer. "It seems you've forgotten why we were used as tools in the first place."
Clovis gasped in horror.
"'We?'" Luke said. "Who's we?" Lelouch glanced at Luke. "Myself and my sister."
Clovis then said. "You speak of Nunally?" The prince started to form a genuine smile on his face. "Little Nunnally... she's...Is she still...?"
"Yes!" Lelouch glared at Clovis. "She's alive!" He narrowed his eyes with fury. "But she is still blind and crippled!" Both Clovis and Luke gasped at that. "She has been since the day our mother was murdered! BY YOUR OWN TWO HANDS!"
Clovis stood there with a shock look speechless Luke was frozen at what they were talking about. Lelouch's sister...Was blind. And crippled? And his mother...?
"Mother held the title of 'Knight of Honor' but was a commoner by birth." Lelouch's eyes narrowed. "No doubt the other Imperial consorts held her in contempt. Even though you made it look like the work of terrorists—I'm no fool! YOU PEOPLE KILLED MY MOTHER!"
"IT WASN'T ME! I SWEAR!" Clovis cried out, now shaking. "I WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A THING! I would never have hurt Lady Marianne! And I would never ever hurt Nunnally! She was so sweet and beautiful I loved her just as much as I love Laila!"
Lelouch gritted his teeth. "Then tell me everything you know. The truth cannot be hidden from me any longer." Lelouch then activated his power in his left eye. "By whose hand was she slain by?!"
Luke then sees the red rings appear on Clovis' eyes and he stops shaking, before answering almost robotically: "My brother, Second Prince Schneizel, and Second Princess Cornelia—they can tell you."
"Second Prince Schneizel?" Luke raised an eyebrow. "Second Princess Cornelia? Are they siblings of Lelouch as well?" Lelouch's eyes widened in shock. "They were at the heart of this?" Clovis didn't answer, and Lelouch lowered his eyelids in disappointment. "That's all that you know, isn't it?" He shut off the power in his left eye, and so did the red rings in Clovis' eyes.
Clovis was back to his old self immediately. "I SWEAR! IT WASN'T ME! I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!"
Luke raised an eyebrow. "So, he doesn't remember what he was ordered to say? Some sort of effect of the power? It's just like a Mind Trick.." Lelouch on the other hand said while giving a light smirk "Oh I believe you but however!"
He raised the gun to Clovis's forehead before Luke grabbed Lelouch's hand, stopping Lelouch. "Lelouch don't!"
"NO!" Clovis began shaking like a coward as Lelouch struggled to shake Luke off him. "What do you think you're doing Luke?!" Luke then however retorted back with a glare. "What am I doing, what are you doing!? You're gonna kill Clovis, your brother!"
"YES!" Clovis cried out pointing at Luke. "HE'S RIGHT, LELOUCH! YOU CAN'T! WE MAY HAVE DIFFERENT MOTHERS, BUT YOU AND I ARE STILL BLOOD! LISTEN TO YOUR FRIEND!"
Lelouch growls and says. "I used to think that as well!" Lelouch grunts as he gently pushes Luke to the side.
"But however I don't seem to recognize the brother I used to play with many years ago as a child… Instead I see a spoiled arrogant man who lives up to Britannia's worst policies… and does so desperately to impress the man he calls our father!" Lelouch glared back at Clovis with growing rage. "And you didn't hesitate to order the deaths of every man, woman, and child in Shinjuku without mercy!"
"They are Elevens, Lelouch!" Clovis exclaimed. "We thought them responsible for what happened to you and Nunnally!"
Lelouch gritted his teeth. "You only think of them as numbers? Worse than animals? Because why… because we invaded and stole what was theirs?! I knew one of them… he was more a brother to me than what I saw before me! And he is dead! SUZAKU IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!" Lelouch pointed the gun again at Clovis who whimpered against his seat in fear.
"Lelouch no!" Luke yelled and pulled Lelouch away again as it became a struggle for the gun as the two fought over the gun.
Luke and Lelouch each grunt trying to get the gun from the other as Luke had a strong glare at him.
"Killing him won't solve anything. I know what this slime ball has done but you know this is wrong! Let alone killing your own brother!"
Lelouch yelled as he was trying to push Luke back as the locked eyes. "I have to do this, he's already seen our forces, he's too dangerous to live!" "If so then use your eye power and make him forget he saw us!"
"You don't understand Luke! He can't be allowed to rule Area 11 any longer! It is the best way to move forward!" Luke grunted and grabbed Lelouch, so the schoolboy could face him. "Forward?! Like this?!"
Lelouch gritted his teeth at Luke. "After all you can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."
That made the rebel widen his eyes in shock at the student. As he growled as the two were struggling to push the other back in this deadlock. "Let go!" "No you let go!"
But as the two bickering allies continued to argue about killing or taking Clovis prisoner he pushed a button on his chair as a gun sprouted from it as Clovis pointed it at the two Luke gasped and said.
“LOOK OUT!” Luke screamed and jumped out of the way.
Luke fell down the stairs to the lower floor left of the throne, while Lelouch fell on his back in front of the throne. The schoolboy tried to go for his gun that was on the floor however the gun was kicked away by Clovis.
Lelouch looked up to see Clovis towering over him, aiming at him with his own gun who said with a frown on his face. "I really wish this didn't need to happen. I really mean it with the remaining light in my heart."
Lelouch glared at his foe and said as his left eye glowed. “Then by all means Clovis I order you to DIE!”
Clovis saw the symbol of Lelouch's power form on his left eye and realised it as his eyes widened in shock. "You…You have it?!"
"What?!" Lelouch baulked his head back, before trying again. "I SAID die!" And yet still, Clovis did not automatically do as he commanded. Lelouch looked in shock. "It didn't work?!" Clovis chuckled and said.
“So she gave it to you, am I right?” Lelouch had a confused look until he remembered the girl with the girl hair that gave him this power in the first place.
Clovis widened his eyes, and almost started shaking again. "Well, I guess this complicates things…but no matter. I'll just have to make do with it."
"You're going to kill me?!" Lelouch shouted "Oh, no! As much as I am hurt that you were willing to kill me—your own brother—after so many years apart you clearly have been misled. I can't imagine…how poor little Nunnally would feel."
Lelouch gasped at that statement. "She is my sister, too. And the fact that she is alive...Really warms my heart. Once Bartley and my men return, you can lead us to where Nunnally is."
Lelouch couldn't believe this was it for him all this planning was all for nothing!? He felt this single blunder allowed himself to get checked mate and was worried he allowed his former father reclaim his sister. Luke shook off the dizziness until he saw Lelouch in trouble and was about to grab his lightsaber until he noticed it wasn't there as he had a worried look he was about to try and find it until Clovis said with a finger wag.
"Ah ah ah do not think I forgot you!" Clovis said, pointing his gun now at Luke as the Jedi growls at this as Clovis walks over and points the gun at Luke's chin.
Lelouch then said. "Good he's distracted I just need to find my gun and get a good headshot!" He looks around until he sees something else, a metal object lying there on the floor.
Clovis then glaring at Luke with a look that could kill, almost disliking the blond for being friends with his brother. "Whoever the hell you are, it's very clear you're a bad influence for my brother!" Clovis then has a sinister smirk.
"But yet I feel grateful that you convinced him to spare my life so let's make a deal! I will let you live, tell me if you're working alone or been with the terrorist. And I'll inform my men to go easy on you when they interrogate you."
Luke growls and says back at him "As if I'll tell you anything you sick-" But before Luke could curse he heard the sound of his father's lightsaber turning on.
As Luke and Clovis spy something in the dark, a blue light. "WHAT THE-!" Luke and Clovis turned around to see Lelouch's shocked face who said it as he held Luke's lightsaber in both of his hands, and he managed to activate it.
Lelouch looked dumbfounded at the fact the weapon Luke dropped could instantly pop up a glowing laser blade that glowed even brighter than a flashlight.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!" Clovis exclaimed in shock and terror at the newly acquired weapon in Lelouch's hands and went to aim his pistol at him.
"NO!" Luke yelled as he used the force to take away Clovis's gun. "HUH!?" Shouted Clovis in shock to see Luke could do that but however this shock turned into fear as he saw Lelouch yelled as he slashed Clovis.
The man screamed in agony, lost for words as he looked at Lelouch one last time before his head fell off from his shoulders as the body dropped dead not a second after.
Luke on the other hand stood frozen that his father's weapon slashed Clovis's neck like a knife with butter.
Lelouch then opened his eyes and saw what he had done to Clovis before turning the lightsaber off.
Luke took one last look at Clovis' corpse before looking in awe and shock at Lelouch, who still held his lightsaber. The student was in shock as well at what had just happened.
However, his grip on the lightsaber became light and he dropped it to the ground, where it deactivated on its own. Lelouch groaned and fell to his knees.
"Lelouch?" Luke said, as he got up and went to Lelouch's side. Luke's eyes widened when he saw a wound to where Clovis' bullet had penetrated. Lelouch then fell to his side and looked like he was about to pass out.
"No, no, no! Lelouch! Stay with me!” Lelouch groaned as everything was becoming a blur. “STAY WITH ME!!” As he heard the voice of Luke calling out.
