Chapter 31
Kenshin woke up at nine in the morning and silently dressed and left the room. He met the smiling and helpful Keiko on the ground floor, and after a few words with her and a promise to visit her in person sometime, Kenshin quietly left the brothel.
After walking around the town, he went into a few shops, bought a few things, had breakfast at a local diner, and headed leisurely out of town.
After leaving the city, Kenshin headed for the rocky hills three kilometres from the city, on the opposite side of the road home. As he walked along the hills, he stealthily got lost behind some large rocks, and he chose a convenient position and waited.
After two and a half hours of waiting, he heard the very distinct cry of a cuckoo bird, and peeked out from behind a rock. Seeing Natsumi, he quietly caught her attention, and drew her to him. The girl reached him in a few movements, and he enclosed her in his arms.
- How'd it go? Were you not followed? - Kenshin asked, savouring the scent of his second wife.
- It's all right. I got the money from that old bitch, and I said I had to go shopping. I promised I'd be back tonight, so I left.
- Good, then let's go. - Kenshin commanded, and he and the girl carefully made their way through the hills, then made a long detour to the forest and got lost in it.
- Where are we going? - Natsumi asked. She didn't really care, as long as she was close to her lover, but her feline curiosity got the best of her.
- We're going to my house. Kenshin smiled, and glancing at Natsumi's pretty face, he kissed her on the lips.
Natsumi moaned softly, and returned the kiss, letting Kenshin's insistent hands roam over her taut body. She was wearing a classic shinobi outfit. A thin t-shirt, a waistcoat with lots of pockets, tight black trousers, and very sturdy boots with toe cutouts to provide ventilation in this hot climate.
After a few minutes of passionate caresses, Kenshin let the girl go, and all the way back he asked about her life.
Natsumi has been a naughty and combative girl all her life, so her parents put her in a small shinobi academy in Shukuba City. Natsumi graduated from the academy without much trouble, and became a Genin, joining a team of three and captain Chunin.
When she was fourteen years old, her father died of a fever, and a year later, her mother followed him. After her parents' deaths, Natsumi became even more withdrawn and aggressive, immersing herself in D and C rank missions until a few months ago when her teammate died. It wasn't her fault, but against her better judgement, she blamed herself.
The mother of the dead teammate only added fuel to the fire, and pressed the girl's feelings of guilt, taking all the money she had saved as compensation, and after a while the pressure increased, and Natsumi unknowingly went to an elite brothel for kunoichi. In the two weeks she had been 'working' there, she had never had a single client. Her aggressive nature wouldn't let her let anyone she didn't like near her.
After Kenshin had made her his, her mind suddenly cleared and she realised that all this time, the 'injured' mother of the dead team member had been leisurely processing her with genjutsu, finding a breach in the girl's emotional defences, reinforcing her feelings of guilt.
Natsumi was angry at the old hag, and wanted to get even with her, but that desire paled in comparison to her need for Kenshin. She had forgotten her old life and was willing to go to the end of the world to be with the man of her dreams, the one person who needed her.

After listening to her story Kenshin hugged her, and whispered:
- Everything's gonna be okay now. We're together, and that's what matters! - He declared, and kissed her sweet lips.
Natsumi only moaned happily into Kenshin's mouth, and they travelled on. Along the way, Kenshin described to the girl what was in store for her, and she was shocked to learn that she would give birth in a fortnight, and that Kenshin already had one wife and a grown son. It didn't seem possible that such miracles could happen, but she trusted Kenshin unconditionally, and was looking forward to having a baby boy.
Natsumi dreamed of having a large, loving family and many children, but all the guys she met in real life did not suit the young beauty, and only when she met Kenshin she fell in love and was ready to give birth to as many children as he wanted.
Kenshin and Natsumi finally reached the foot of the mountain where their home was. The girl offered several times to carry him on her back and get to the right place faster, but Kenshin refused, mentally lamenting the fact that he didn't have a combat system, and now even his wife was stronger than him.
When Kenshin led her into a deep, dark cave, Natsumi frowned slightly, not understanding where he was taking her. But when the symbols on the ceiling of the cave lit up, forming a large mosaic that lit up the entire cave, Natsumi couldn't hide her shock. When after a minute of walking, a seemingly dead-end wall pulled aside, Natsumi was stunned. When she stepped onto the threshold of her new "home" she covered her mouth with her small hand, unable to realise where she was.
Although the girl was a shinobi and had encountered many "miracles" and been in beautiful houses, the sight before her was unlike anything she had ever seen before. It was as if she had entered another world, or a dreamland to which she had been taken by a "prince charming." She began to turn her head in a daze, looking at the beautiful wallpaper, the marvellous parquet, the magnificent interior doors, with the most beautiful glass, and only belatedly noticed a young girl standing a few steps away, and a young man looking out of the other room.
