Animal? Doll? What are you??

Odysseus was panicking.

The creature was panicking.

Odysseus backs away.

The creature starts running.

"H-hey, wait!" He was quick to snap out from his shock and frantically gets back up his feet, trying to run after the thing. But it only freaked out even more, and now a chase scene ensues around the living room.

And Odysseus is failing (hilariously).

Everytime he's about to close in, the creature does a sharp turn and makes a slippery escape. It's like something out of a cartoon, really.

"Oh, shit-!" In the end, Odysseus let's out a yelp in pain when he ends up tripping on his own feet and plummeting to the ground. His fall made the creature turn around.

Big mistake.

Because what it didn't noticed was that it's heading towards a wall. And it was too late to realize when it crashed itself into the said wall. HARD.

... So now they're both on the floor withering in pain.

....

Yup. Definitely like a cartoon. Anyway.

It took a second, but Ody was the first to recover from his fall, albeit still a little numb. He glances at the creature, who was still on the floor knocked out.

Perhaps the chasing tired him down, but he was not as freaked out as he was before. Still, he approached with caution.

When he finally stood (tower) in front, he didn't just immediately grab it. Instead he crouched down, slowly as to not make any sudden movements, and just...stares at it, perhaps in confusion or awe.

Now that he got a better look at it... He still doesn't know what is it. Is it a doll? Animal? Human? All he knows it's two and a half apples tall and runs really fast.

All Odysseus could mutter out was...

"What...are you?"

The man almost jump when the creature starts stir. He didn't realize he was nconsciously holding his breath as it turns with its front facing up. Then, it groggily opens its dotted eyes. But they immediately shot wide and the body froze when it finally realized Odysseus, who stiffened.

...But it didn't runaway this time.

It started shaking, and is that tears?!

Holy shit, it's crying now! "H-hey, buddy... it's okay, I'm not going to hurt you..." Odysseus tried to comfort. But the creature didn't listen, or perhaps it was too fear struck to hear.

It was still shaking, and now started to curl itself a ball, trying to make itself smaller than it already is. The sight absolutely broke Odysseus's heart.

'Oh god, what am I going to do?! Um, um...' Ody frantically looks around to find a solution to calm the thing down, but he couldn't seem to find any that could help. He stares back at the creature, still curled, too scared to even move.

He bit his lips in contemplation. And finally he breathes a sigh...

Nobody knows, just why we're here

Could it be fate or random circumstance

At the right place, at the right time

Two roads intertwine

And if the universe conspired

To meld our lives, to make us, fuel and fire

Then know wherever you will be

So too, shall I'll be

A soft song, a softer voice echo in the room. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could the creature stop, and slowly- hesitantly, uncurl itself, taking a peek from under its arm.

There was some parts of Odysseus who was hesitant, eventually though he reaches one arm down, carefully putting his palm out, but show no sign of snatching it. The creature glances at it with the same hesitation, but didn't seem to move away from it.

He slowly moves it closer, touching its body. It slightly flinch, but still haven't move from its spot.

As his continue singing, it gradually leaned against his palm.

Seeing it seem to trust him enough, Ody brought his other arm down and carefully scoop it, then began lifting it to his chest.

He closed his eyes as he continues to sing to the creature.

Close your eyes, dry your tears

'Cause when nothing seemsclear

You'll be safe here from the sheer weight

Of your doubts and fears

Weary heart, you'll be safe here

The song was finished and the initial fear and confusion that plagued the atmosphere disperse but Odysseus made no movement, and let the tranquil silence take over.

A silence between a man and a small creature.

And it stayed like that for a few minutes.
