Best Wingmen For A Winged-Man (Kickin Chicken x Bubba Bubbaphant)
Kickin had been wanting to ask out Bubba for the longest time, since he's always had a crush on him probably ever since he saw him. But of course, you can't just ask someone out on a date, normally. You need to have an awesome presentation! That's just the Kickin way! So he came up with a plan that includes a song and a large flourishing stunt. Thankfully he has a lot of time. The actual time that he'll probably ask Bubba is either tomorrow or the day after.
But unfortunately, he isn't exactly the most well versed in music nor singing, but he does know just the right critters for the job, and he just saw the two walking in the distance holding hands. "Man, I hope me and Bubba would look like that." Kickin said out aloud as he ran towards them. "Hey guys!" He yelled out, waving his arms around, trying to get their attention. They look over and give a friendly wave back. "What's up Kickin?" Dogday asked while Catnap didn't say anything. "Listen dude, I need a favor. But this is really important, so don't tell anyone, please?" Kickin said, his usual tone of cool now replaced with a hint of desperation. Catnap and Dogday looked at each other before nodding. "Sure, we'll help you out! What's the problem?" Dogday said.
"So I plan to ask Bubba on an date through a little stunt but I also want some music to go with it, and the song is Hooked On A Feeling but covered by Blue Swede."
When Kickin explained to them on what he wanted to do, Dogday and Catnap laughter had echoed around the the entirety of Smiling Valley, over the song choice that Kickin had thought of. But because he's their friend, and because Catnap and Dogday were so tickled by his song choice, they had obliged. The song itself was actually quite romantic and cute, but the specific cover that he had picked was just the kind of energy that Kickin had somehow wanted. So Kickin went with Dogday and Catnap to their studio to record the music.
And after a few hours of singing, playing instruments, and just working hard while also just hanging out with each other, they eventually complete the song. And after they complete covering and recording the song, they start to work on preparing Kickin's actual stunt. The stunt itself wasn't too big, Kickin has definitely done way riskier things. But there was still quite a lot of risks involved, the main one was that he was gonna do a jump from a ramp and grab a branch and swing from it to land in front of Bubba with a rose in his mouth. But since Kickin wanted to do this, and he even rehearsed it in front of Catnap and Dogday so they say how it was "supposed" to happen.
Except he failed the landing part and fell flat on his face. But he kept going, and eventually the stunt was complete. Now all that's left is to actually do them...
...
It's the next day, and Kickin walked towards Bubba's house and frantically knocked on the door. Bubba opened it looking confused and worried. "Is everything alright Kickin?" Bubba asked. "Uh, Yes! I just want you to come with me so that you could supervise a stunt that I want to do!" Kickin said awkwardly. "Um, sure Kickin. Lead the way." Bubba replies with a soft smile, which made Kickin really excited. Kickin then lead Bubba towards the area which the stunt was constructed, and there were Catnap and Dogday waiting with a boombox and three microphones.
"So, before we begin. I really want to sing you a song, I hope you don't mind." Kickin said as Catnap handed Kickin one microphone. Before Bubba could respond, Dogday set down the boombox and pressed the play button to start the music while both Catnap and Dogday were holding back laughter over what they were about to sing.
"Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga. Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga. Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga. Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga" Catnap and Dogday... Chanted while Kickin hyped himself up.
"I can't stop this feeling. Deep inside of me. Boy, you just don't realize. What you do to me. When you hold me. In your arms so tight. You let me know. Everything's alright." Kickin sang with all his heart. Thanks to how much he pushed himself the day before, he actually sounded quite good. Meanwhile Bubba was quickly turning red and slowly covered his face.
"I'm hooked on a feeling! I'm high on believing. That you're in love with me." Somehow Kickin wasn't phased by how embarrassing this would've looked to an outsider. Probably because to him, this is the most romantic thing he's ever seen.
"Lips as sweet as candy. It's taste is on my mind. Boy, you got me thirsty. For another cup of wine. Got a bug from you girl. But I don't need no cure. I just stay a victim. If I can for sure. All the good love. When we're all alone. Keep it up girl. Yeah, you turn me on." Kickin sang while dancing around Bubba, and Bubba was watching as Kickin circles around him. Catnap and Dogday had long since stopped chanting and had sat down on the grass to watch Kickin perform.
"I'm hooked on a feeling. I'm high on believing. That you're in love with me." Kickin sang until a short intermission, then Kickin told Catnap and Dogday to stand up and to chant again.
"All the good love. When we're all alone. Keep it up, girl. Yeah, you turn me on. I'm hooked on a feeling. I'm high on believing. That you're in love with me. I'm hooked on a feeling. And I'm high on believing. That you're in love with me. I said I'm hooked on a feeling. And I'm high on believing. That you're in love with me. I'm hooked on a feeling." Kickin finally finished and Bubba held and awkward smile as he softly clapped.
"I'm not done yet! I still have the stunt to do!" Kickin yelled out as he went to grab his skateboard and got on the ramp as Bubba watched with bated breath, while Catnap and Dogday cheered on Kickin. Slowly, he inched himself towards the precipice of the ramp, and with one look from Bubba. He grit his teeth and rode his board down the ramp, he jumped and swung around the branch, doing a full circle, until he let go and did a back flip, landing in front of Bubba with a rose in his mouth. "Bubba. You wanna go on a date?" Kickin said out of breath, taking the rose out of his mouth. Bubba then started to chuckle a bit which made Kickin a bit anxious.
"I was gonna tell you the same thing actually. And you didn't have to do all this, you could've just asked." Bubba said with a smirk. "You Were?! Wait. No! Of course I had to do all of this!" Kickin pouted out. Catnap and Dogday watched on as Kickin and Bubba started a friendly debate on how the stunt and song was really needed.
