Enough (Dogday 💔 Catnap)
The tears coming from the orange cocker spaniel crawl down his face, pathetically falling down on the pier as Catnap leaves while the group comforts Dogday. After a while he eventually calms down and goes back to his house, where he sees that Catnap had already packed his things and left. Seeing this, he looks around to see that Catnap left a note for him. It read:
'I already took the liberty of getting my stuff and leaving. Don't try to contact me.'
After reading it, Dogday simply crumpled it up and threw it in the trashcan. A couple days go by, and Dogday still doesn't feel any better. After looking around on the internet for some help, he decided to write a song about it. Well not quite a song but more writing his thoughts down, but it has some musicality to it. And Dogday was going through a music course, so it was good that he was getting practice in now. So after getting out his laptop, he started to bang away at the keys...

It was a couple years later, Dogday is now a successful and popular musician, and his memories of Catnap had all since faded. So much so, that when he was asked to perform at his high school reunion, he gladly accepted. Almost forgetting that he met Catnap back at that high school. But putting away those feelings and memories, he prepares his songs that he's gonna perform.
The day of the reunion is here. Dogday gets to the actual school a little early to rehearse and to help setup the gymnasium. Eventually rows upon rows of people show up, Dogday even sees some old friends! Right before he's about to go onstage, he sees someone slinking through the crowd, flashes of purple getting closer and closer to him until they meet face to face. It was Catnap.
All of the pain comes right back, and all of the help and therapy that he went through just went down the gutter. But somehow he was still optimistic. "Catnap? It's been a while." Dogday says in his most normal and cheerful voice. "Are you still hurt puppy?" Catnap scathingly replies. "Uh, well I got over our breakup with a lot of therapy so I guess I'm not hurt anymore?" Dogday slowly replies. The entire audience is now looking at them, watching them closely. "Well the fact that in your first hit song you talked about me, even if you didn't drop my name, people still found me!" Catnap shouted at Dogday. "Your stupid fucking fans! They ruined me! After everything I did, this is how you repay me?! By getting together a witch hunt?! With them finding me and making me apologize, tarnished my reputation!" Catnap continues.
"You hurt me first Catnap! You manipulated me!" Dogday started barking back. Catnap held his hand to his face and started grinning wildly. "You ruined me." Catnap said, barely a whisper. "Now im gonna ruin you!" Catnap shouted, lunging at Dogday. Catnap got one punch in before other people and security had pulled him off and kicked him out. Dogday clutched his face, throbbing with pain. When people came to check on him, he pulled his hand away to reveal a large bruise immediately forming around his eye. Some people urged him to not continue but he just waved them off. He told the DJ right before going onstage to change the song to his first song, feeling a mixed bag of emotions all at once. And after getting onstage and some light tuning of his guitar, he signal's the DJ to start the music.
"Show me your eyes, when you speak pretty lies. I'm listening"
Dogday sings as a tear gets stuck on his black eye, staying there for the remainder of the song. While his other eye looks like a waterfall.
"Fucked up and wasted, and oh so sedated. We're glistening"
Dogday takes a deep breath, the adrenaline now wearing off and feeling the pain of his bruise go stronger.
"Oh. We're bleeding inside. I'll take the hits. I said I'm fine. Im whistling. Come to me baby, I'm yours if you take me tonight! Oh! I'll give you everything I got, I know it's not enough. Honey I'm hurting. Beauty we're burning. We fell from above. You break me down and pick me up. I wanna be enough. I'm never leaving. Sweetie I'm breathing. I just need the love."
Dogday does a hiccup from the overwhelming feelings he is experiencing.
"Oh, God made an angel and gave him to me. I see you. I see you. Your wings fall and scatters, my heart fucking shatters. I need you. I need you. Just breathe in with time. I said I'm yours, you said you're mine. I'll keep you. Use me, abuse me. I'm yours if you take me tonight!"
Dogday's voice wavers and cracks a bit at that last line.
"Oh! I'll give you everything I got, I know it's not enough. Honey I'm hurting. Beauty we're burning. We fell from above. You break me down and pick me up. I wanna be enough. I'm never leaving. Sweetie I'm breathing. I just need the love."
Dogday wipes away his tears in his good eye during the intermission, feeling like he got his feelings, emotions, and thoughts out. He takes a deep breath.
"I'll give you everything I got, I know it's not enough. Honey I'm hurting. Beauty we're burning. We fell from above. You break me down and pick me up. I wanna be enough. I'm never leaving. Sweetie I'm breathing. I just need the love. Oh. I just need the love."
Dogday finishes as the crowd applauses and cheers the performance. Dogday holds a small smile, making the tear on his bruised eye finally fall. While Catnap who was listening from outside was heavily crying behind a dumpster.
