“Oh look it’s the strays” said Noah oh how he makes a room light up, in anger of course. I absolutely hate them because one they used to bully me and two they still bully the twins oh and I have a third reason they still expect Amy to like and want to date them because she is popular and their jocks? Like how many brain cells did they lose playing football?
“Noah, why are you bothering us? We're just trying to shop.” Saige said
“With what money? Your parent’s money? Oh wait you don’t have parents” jack said
“Oo nice one bro” Noah said while fist bumping jack
“Amy, could I borrow a hair tie?” I said getting a little agitated
“Uh sure?” she hands me a spare hair tie from her purse “am i about to see the rare take no shit Sophia?”
“Thanks and yes I am tired of letting those boys walk around with big ass egos not to mention the size of the head both figuratively and physically” i put my wavy rainbow hair into a tight ponytail and walked over to Noah, jack, and the twins
“ Wait, let me get my phone. I wanna record this!”
“Then hurry!” I called back and I stepped in front of the twins, "is there a problem here?”
“Nothing that concerns you nerd” Noah said irritated that i had the nerve to stand up to him
“Wow you think I'm smart thanks so much but i couldn’t say the same for you though considering your messing with my friends this is very much my concern” i retorted and Noah crosses his arms
“So the strays have friends? Wow I'm so surprised who would have guessed? That someone actually wanted to stick around when even their parents didn’t”
“Oh you're screwed dude I hope you have some extra money for your hospital bills” Amy said while standing off to the side recording “ beat his ass Sophia!”
“Oh Amy i know you not known for your brains but a guy like me can't be beaten by a girl like-” before he could finished i hit a nasty hook on his nose
“Argh! You bitch!” he practically yelled blood gushing from his nose his little fit drew the attention of nearby people mostly teens since not a lot of adults are out shopping on a Saturday afternoon so a crowd stars to form a circle around us many getting out their phones to record stories for their socials
“A girl like what Noah? Or are you too afraid to finish that sentence?” I am really thankful to Amy for always bringing us to her self defense classes when we were younger and sparking my fighting phase. Because now I have moves and can hold my own in a fight and though these guys hold themselves like they could fight I seriously doubt either of them have actually ever been in a real fight before.
“You’ll find out once we're done with you!” Jack said, stepping beside Noah and with such an angry face it was almost comical.
“Wow, two on one? You're not gonna let Noah fight me like a man? You're gonna team up? You two are basically attached at the hip aren’t ya?” At the noise, more and more people have started crowding around us. I'm pretty sure the mall security have taken notice of us. Either they're lost in the crowd or they just don’t care enough.
Jack decided instead of answering me he would just swing at me. It was pathetic you think someone who played football would have at least some build up of muscle. I returned the favor and kicked him in the side which is a really effective way to make someone lose their breath so you could say I literally took his breath away.
“Wooooo! You go Sophia! Beat their asses!” i hear the twins and Amy shouting and a lot of the girls in the crowd start shouting
“Go Sophia!” or “beat their asses” and I think I heard “show them what girl power means!”
But so were the boys which came as a surprise but apparently Noah and Jack are hated throughout the school. Which is weird because being jocks and on the football team you think they were part of the popular kids. Maybe they just pushed their luck one too many times. And by now both Noah and Jack are standing straight up, Noah still clutching his nose. I think I broke it.
“we’ll give you one last chance and this is so gracious because you broke my nose so i think you better take it before things get ugly Mendoza!” said Noah finally recognizing me. I had changed a lot over the ten months I was gone after all.
Everyone from my old school was shocked and the whispering started. I heard snippets of it and most went something like “that's Sophia Mendoza? Wow she has changed so much” or if it was a boy add like she's actually hot now onto the end. it is a weird feeling, to not be recognized by the people you went to school with for over nine years. It felt good? I mean I wasn't very popular at all through those school years. I was a very timid and shy girl, so I think I changed for the better.
Did I though? Only time will tell.
“Fat chance! You messed with my friends so now you have to deal with the consequences!”
“We gave you a warning Mendoza” said jack as they charged me thinking that if they overwhelmed me they would win but what they didn't know is the fact they were the weakest things i fought all year. I quite literal only had to step a foot to the side and watch them fall on themselves
“That was quite anti-climatic don’t you think? You really couldn’t have done any better?”
“That was only the beginning Mendoza!” Jack shouted and with all this noise a nearby redhead who had been minding her own business having heard the name Mendoza started to wander over.
“Oh really now? You sure you not just all bark no bite?” i retorted loudly enough for the redhead to hear my voice now being closer sorta pushed her way into the front of the crowd. I hear several people say stuff like “what the hell” and “wait your turn” so i scan the crowd a bit and that's when i see her mother fucking Valentina furi.
“Sophia?!” Valentina says in shock
“Oh fuck” i said under my breath but jack took this as i wasn’t paying attention and tried to punch me. Luckily I was still paying attention and ducked and dodged his already weak blow and in one fluid motion with my duck I did a one handed back walkover and kicked his head while doing it effectively knocking him out.
“Wooooo! you go Sophia!!!” I heard Amy and the twins yell but that move pretty much ended the fight. Jack was unconscious and Noah had a broken nose. Noah dragged Jack away muttering under his breath and the crowd disbursed.
The twin barreled into me with hugs and thanks like “you're amazing soph!” or “you're the best!” while Amy said
“Oh this is a hundred percent going on my socials!”
“Sure sure but if my dad sees it you're gonna owe me got it?”
“Yeah yeah sure” she responded most likely not paying attention and Valentina walks up to me Wearing plaid and leather like always
