“What the hell was that? And since when did you live California?” Valentina asked, still in shock from seeing me fight two dudes.
“Whoa whoa milkshake one question at a time please?” I said, trying to push the twins off me.
“And you said to be creative with my nicknames”
“You created them so your stuck with them”
“Fine so, French fry, mind telling me why you were fighting two dudes and why the hell you look like you haven’t slept in ages?”
“One they pissed me the hell off by bullying my friends and two you can tell?”
“Your bags have bags Mendoza”
“Okay jeez no need to be rude, yeah I've had trouble sleeping the past couple nights” the twins have stopped hugging me and are studying Valentina so i take this time to untie my ponytail. I fling the hair tie at Amy to get her off her phone.
“Get off your phone this is supposed to be a fun hang out after me being gone ten months Amy”
“Okay fine” she puts her phone back into her purse “so who is this anyways?”
“Oh this is Valentina furi, a friend from my new school” I said, having run my hand through my hair to fix it, “ oh and Val this is Amy, the boy is Zach total theater kid, and the girl who looks exactly like him is his twin sister Saige. by chance if she ends up going to our school don't let her meet cinder because that will not go well”
“Um, can I ask why?” Valentina asked
“That girl is a certified arsonist anyways do you live around here or something?”
“Um WHAT? How are you just glossing over that!”
“Answer the question Valentina”
“Yes I do live around here. Can we circle back to the certified arsonist thing?”
“Nope” Zach and Saige say in unison
“Great the only thing weirder than a Mendoza is their friends” Valentina says in exasperation
“Hey they may be weird but we grew up with each other so i can’t just stop being friends with them!” i said
“Never said you had to, do you even have other friends? I mean by the size of that crowd it looked like you might”
“This might come as a surprised but no i really don’t i was probably the shiest girl in the whole school before i transferred, so i didn’t really talk much to anyone”
“You shy? Wow, that is a shock. Sophia Mendoza shy? Show me proof the Sophia i know isn’t even close to shy”
“That's because you met Sophia after she transferred because something happened at that school that changed our sweet little Sophia!” Amy said while ruffling my hair
“Cut it out, Amy you're like two months older than me!” I said, swiping at her hand, “and don’t mess up my hair! I just fixed it there's a reason i don’t wear it in a ponytail often”
“It looks way better in a pony though soph” Zach said being the baby of the group i let him call me soph though it's one of my worse nicknames i way prefer French fry.
“Aww thanks Zach, you two are okay right? They didn’t hurt you or anything?”
“Sophia you hurt them way worse than they could ever hurt us, you really were serious about that fighting phase!” saige answered
“I think i like the take no shit Sophia” Amy said
“Don’t call it that! I was just a little pissed, okay?” i stated
“A little pissed? Sophia, one of those guys, had a broken nose. " Valentina said "Also, could I get that video?”
“Umm why?” Amy asked
“Because i find this situation quite funny and i want to show it to our dorm mates” she answered
“Hey, I thought you didn’t have their numbers!” i interrupted
“I don’t i do have their socials though” Valentina said
“Should have been more specific”
“Yep anyways video can i get it?” Valentina asked turning to Amy
“Yeah sure why not? Let me get your number” Amy said
“Oh that's gonna be fun to explain when school starts thank goodness i still have over two months left before that happens!” I said turning to the twins “after they're done what should we do?”
“ well it is getting late” Zach started
“Zach it's 4:00 that's not late” Saige interrupted “and i have a great idea!”
“Nothing illegal I hope, because I'm pretty sure I just committed assault. so that's fun, and i don’t need to give the cops any more reason to be on my ass thank you very much!” i stated
“So none of my ideas, correct?” Saige said
“Yes none of your crazy ideas” I said then i had an idea, “hey why don’t we just go on a trail back at my house?”
“Might be a bit too late for that soph” Zach said
“Yeah you're probably right though why don’t we do that for our next hangout?”
“Sound good with me” Zach responded
“Same here” Saige said
“Wait a quick question if she wants to, could we invite Val?” i asked
“That's a great idea!” Saige exclaimed
“The more the merrier” Zach responded
“Are you two almost done sharing my little fight yet?” I asked Amy and Valentina as I turned to them and crossed my arms.
“Yeah almost done French fry oh and do you want the other socials?” Valentina offered the others are confused at the nickname
“Oh yeah actually that would be great! can you text them to me later? because I'm pretty sure i hear sirens”
“Yeah i do as well that's not good do you think it was Noah or jack who called them?” Amy asked
“No way it was one of them, it was probably one of the few adults in the crowd. Anyways, Val I'll text you later and you three need to come with me because one I don't have my driver license yet and two the twins already have a criminal record.” i said uncrossing my arms
“Oh uh okay bye? Text you later?” Valentina said
“Yeah bye milkshake! anyways let go i don’t need a criminal record started on the like fourth day of summer” i said turning to the others
“Yeah lets go” Zach said as were walking to Amy's car since all of us were dropped off expect her who drove herself
“So where are we going next?” Amy asked as we got into her car Saige calling shotgun like always.
“Its like 4 or 5 pm Amy we should probably all just go home” i stated being tired even though i don't want to sleep not after what happened
“Yeah you're probably right Sophia, do you mind if we drop off the twins first then i can drop you off?” Amy asked as she started the cars
“No not at all my house is farther away anyway a little more driving can’t hurt anyone” i replied as i lean against the car door
“Okay then now that's settled everyone buckled?” Amy asked the question more or less directed at Saige.
“Yes” Saige said
“Then off we go”
