the meeting

seoyeon kind of knew that she went to the dorms way too early, and the fact that the building was pretty much completely empty when she got to the receptionist proved it even more and honestly she can’t blame anyone for it but herself, she was too eager to start her new life away from the hell she’d prefer calling a house but was forced to call a home.

Two week till college starts, she didn’t really care about the classes or anything that has to do with the educational aspect of it all, even tho she still has to live up to her parents expectations, seoyeon was more excited about being a free adult that can go with her friends, free from being policed around by people who couldn’t care less as long as she was providing what they asked for.

When she got to the receptionist she was expecting to find a nice elderly lady, but obviously the universe had other ideas as it blessed her with a grumpy old men who started to complain about all college students the minute he saw her face. Not even a hello, how can I help you. His first words to her were in fact:

“coming in a week early, do you kids have no families?” very pleasing she thought as she replied in her mind yeah I don’t grumpy old men my family couldn’t care less.

As he finally stopped with all his complaining and random, boring rules he listed that she absolutely doesn’t remember a single thing of, seoyeon finally got the keys and surprise? The fourth floor. Who would’ve thought signing up for college came with a free workout every morning, especially now with all her bags that the old grumpy men isn’t planning to help her with, what a good start.

As she finally got all her bags in, it took over 30 minutes, she finally looked around the room, it wasn’t big like the house she lived in her whole life but she doesn’t really care at least it wasn’t as cold and it didn’t feel as empty. When she finally checked her phone she found many missed calls from her friends and one from her mom. One call that’s all she had to offer to her daughter that she didn’t see for 3 days and woudn’t be seeing for another year. But seoyeon knew not to ignore that call as she dialed her mom’s number. The phone rang and rang till finally a sharp, cold, emotionless voice came from the other end.

“did you arrive?” with a sharp breath seoyeon replied.

“yes mother, I am unpacking.” the other end was silent it’s like she was talking to a wall not her own mother.

“great, don’t cause any trouble and I don’t want to hear any complains from your professors.” and she hung up, not even an I love you, screw it not  even a goodbye. This was her mom and that’s all she had to say to her 18 years old daughter.

As seoyeon hears the sound of the declining call, she sighed, nothing really surprising, this was how her mother always been, you would never believe that’s the woman that gave birth of her but hey, at least she’s far away from her now and she would probably receive a check up call once a month at the very best.

When she sat on the bed she couldn’t really complain about how bad the mattress was, this was her new  life and  she  had to get used to it so she called her friend, nakyoung, she was also moving into her dorm today but it was a few blocks away and calling is easier than walking down those stairs alone.

“hey you, have you settled.” she heard from the other line.

“yeah, how about you?”

“of course I did, I’ve been waiting for your call, and omg the receptionist, what a sweet lady she helped be get all my bags to the second floor even tho I said I can do them on my own.”

nakyoung was obviously having  fun in her first day in the dorms contrast to how seoyeon is feeling right now so she didn’t have any option but to complain.

“yeah my luck fucking sucks, how do you get this sweet lady while the receptionist here is a grumpy old man, who saw me struggle to carry my bags to the fourth floor and didn’t even offer a ‘do you need help’ what the hell.” and ofcourse the asshole on the other line will laugh at her like she isn’t pissed enough

“oh my god, the fourth floor, that’s like a morning workout.”

And as their conversation went on with just nakyoung annoying seoyeon and making fun of her like there was no tomorrow she heard the room door unlock, it’s not like she really heard it but when she lifted her head she saw a girl, long blackhair, a box in her hand, looking around the room all curiously she had to introduce herself.

“Hi, nice to meet you! I’m yoon seoyeon, you’re my roommate I suppose?”

Her roommate just looked back at her, no thought behind her eyes with just a blank stare she replied.

“kim yooyeon.”

And it’s something about the way she said nothing but those 2 words or the way she was so nonchalant about the whole thing that perked up seoyeon’s curiosity, not to mention her beauty, and listen seoyeon isn’t gay she never was and she never thought of what being with a woman might be like but in that moment her heart changed it’s rhythm so fast that she felt like exploding and as she shook her thoughts away and looked back up she saw yooyeon still staring at her and she couldn’t help the heat that rose up to her cheeks.

Yooyeon didn’t really see her roommate’s face when she came she just saw a tiny body laying on the bed but now looking at her straight in the eyes and getting that kind of reaction from her for literally just staring yooyeon was smug. she doesn't show it but it’s not everyday where you get to make a pretty girl blush really.

The girl sounded so hyper and loud when she heard her talking through the walls of the hallway  but now in front of her she seemed so quite and shy and very mysterious despite her bubbly introduction earlier, as she gazed at her, seoyeon kept looking down and then back up again and yooyeon couldn’t stop herself from thinking about how adorable she looked.

She wasn’t really open about her sexuality, she never even thought about it and as long as they make her feel different the gender didn’t matter, and that’s exactly how she’s feeling right now, for someone so-called heartless and cold she never really thought about liking someone let alone liking them romantically and all those cliché love at first sight stories were always cringe In her opinion but now looking at the girl in front of her, one she just met and said only 2 words to she thought to herself. I’m screwed.
