Chapter 11
Having been stuck in a room with limited amount of sunlight and a venting system which sent her unconscious, Louise wasn’t sure on how long she had bee there and whether anyone was trying to find her. The times when she was lucid enough, she took a glance around the room, trying to form an escape plan. There was only one window, which was small and high up the wall, leaving the door as the only way of escape. When she had been lucid enough in the past, she had made the mistake of banging on the door and shouting, which sent the venting system to work. Determined, it wasn’t going to work, Louise walked over to the door, trying to open it. To her, she had expected the door to be locked and it was. Sighing out of frustration, she gently placed her head on the door, allowing a few tears to escape wondering how Guy was. Hearing the clicking sound of the door lock mechanism, Louise stood at the wall to the side in where she was hidden. With no one coming in, Louise knew that it was now or never to make her escape. Taking her chance, she moved from behind the door, she stopped seeing a male in the doorway. A male she recognised but could he recognise her?
“Marcel,” Louise whispered in shock, keeping her gaze on the man. Seeing a confused look on his face, Louise realised that he hadn’t recognised her but what alarmed her the most was his behaviour towards her.
“How do you know me?” He asked, grabbing her arms, pushing her back against the wall, kicking the door shut with his foot, “You are not going anywhere.” He said coldly.
“I’m Louise Mikaelson,” Louise said quickly, noticing that Marcel was staring at her, releasing his grip on her.
Taking in the appearance of Louise, Marcel knew that she was telling the truth with panic sweeping over him.
“Eight years and you’ve changed quite a bit,” Marcel said, knowing in his mind that this was Louise Mikaelson.
“Marcel, he’s here,” A female voice said from behind the closed door.
Who was here? Panic swept over her almost freezing her to the spot. “Let me go,” she said sternly.
“Find the Mikaelson’s and stay there until I arrive,” He said, glancing behind, “And make it look convincing Calypso,” Marcel said, a smirk clearly visible. He certainly knew how to wind Louise up.
Hearing the middle name, Louise allowed a sly smile to appear before anger took over, punching him in the face and allowing a small flow of magic to leave her which knocked Marcel out cold, leaving her to make her escape.
Being out in the open with the fresh air on her face, Louise was in two minds on whether to follow through with Marcel’s words and plus it had been eight years since she had last been at the compound. A lot had changed and no doubt a lot had probably changed for the family, she once lived with as a child. Not knowing who the person was who had arrived, was irritating Louise, but maybe Marcel didn’t tell her to keep her safe. Either way, it was annoying her that she didn’t know. Whoever, this mystery person was, was they to blame for her present situation? Leaning against a wall, her mind drifted to Guy and how his last words had been be safe, and yet now she wasn’t safe. She was lonely, scared and worried. When she was emotional like she was, it was often hard for her to control her emotions and in the battle to control them, she would often fail. Placing her hands over her face, she let out a few quiet sobs.
Not realising that someone was behind her, Louise froze, feeling a hand on her shoulder. Spinning round, she lifted her hand up to give the person a good smack. Feeling the person’s hand on her wrist, a frown appeared.
“Now that’s no way to greet family,” A female voice said.
Recognising the voice, Louise glanced at the woman with relief showing. Allowing a smile to show she was pleased to see Rebekah Mikaelson.
“How did you know?” Louise asked, afraid of the answer.
“Family knows when another member is in trouble,” Rebekah replied, keeping her gaze on Louise, “Come,” She instructed, beginning to walk away with Louise following. Even though she was with a Mikaelson, she wasn’t sure if she would feel safe again. Well not until the person who wanted her so badly, had become known to her.
It had been a few days since Guy had last seen Louise and he was extremely worried about her. He wanted to know where his wife was and most importantly, was she hurt. Grudgingly, he had allowed Harry and his friends to look for Louise while the Sheriff had planned a trip. To Guy, it was a foolish trip and a trip which had taken him away from looking for Louise. Whatever the reason was for the trip, Guy hoped that it wouldn’t be a long trip and a successful one for the Sheriff.
Being in the company of the Sheriff, Guy wouldn’t let his fear show. He was afraid that he had lost Louise and their unborn baby. If that was the case, he was going to make the person responsible pay for their actions. On the other hand, if he found Louise, he wanted to keep her close, to keep her safe, to keep her away from harm at any cost, even if it meant defying the Sheriff.
“She will turn up, when you least expect it,” The Sheriff said, not caring for Gisborne’s feelings.
Hearing the words of the Sheriff, Guy huffed not bothering to reply as his words didn’t offer any consolation. They just angered him instead. Ever since the wedding, the Sheriff had gone from tolerating Louise to disliking her, all because of one moment when Louise was protecting her family.
“Ah nearly there,” the Sheriff said, glancing out of the vehicle. With the vehicle coming to a stop, he was too impatient, opening the door, stepping out. With no one welcoming him, the Sheriff wondered if the Outlaws had thwarted his plan. Either way, he had a bad feeling about it.
Walking into the house, the Sheriff glanced around. Seeing Marcel on the floor, an angry sigh left him. What had happened here and was Louise still here?
“Get up!” The sheriff shouted.
Hearing a shout, Marcel groaned slightly, standing up attempting to focus on the door to see if Louise was still present. She wasn’t. She had managed to escape leaving him with a whopping headache. Realising, he needed to get away, he had no idea how he was going to do it, but it needed to be done, sooner rather than later.
“She knocked me out,” Marcel started to explain, noticing another man coming in. To Marcel, he seemed to be low in spirit. Was this man known to Louise in some way, either way Marcel knew what he was going to do even if it was the opposite of the Sheriff’s orders, “I’m guessing she’s escaped,” He finished.
“Well go and bring her back here,” the Sheriff demanded, “And use force if you have to.”
“Unfortunately, I won’t. Our deal is over,” Marcel said coldly, “I will NOT betray my family.”
With the emphasis on the word ‘not’ Guy started to listen. Family? Did this man know Louise in some way and was her escape intentional or accidental? Was the sheriff really that wound up after his wedding that he would stoop this low to get his revenge on Louise?
Hearing the words, the Sheriff’s anger seemed to boil over, “You will do as I say. Fetch Louise back here now,” he shouted.
With Louise’s name being mentioned, Guy was shocked that the Sheriff would stoop that low, but his other questions was also answered. He was Louise’s family which meant that her escape was intentional but where would she have gone?
Walking towards the Sheriff, a smirk appeared on Marcel’s face, “Do I have to repeat myself?” He asked, “I will not betray family and Louise is family,” He said, walking to the door, “As the family says, always and forever.”
Arriving at the Mikaelson’s, Louise swallowed hardly as everything seemed liked it was the same from eight years ago even though it had been over a year since she had seen the majority of the Mikaelson’s. Within the time, she had been absent from the family, so much had changed, and she was beginning to wonder where she would start.
“Nik, Elijah, Freya,” Rebekah called, glancing to Louise with a smile.
“What is it now sister?” Nik asked, appearing. Seeing the other female, his eyes widened in shock. Could it be? “Louise Calypso Lily Mikaelson,” he said approaching her.
“If I have to hear that name one more time, I may have to punish the person who speaks it,” Louise said, glancing at Nik, a smile appearing.
“Yes, definitely Louise,” he said, pulling her into a hug but pulled away when they both heard Freya.
Seeing Freya, Louise smiled broadly, rushing over to the woman who had brought her up and who had been a mum to her, “Freya,” She said, hugging her tightly, “I’ve missed you,” she said quietly, with a few tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Don’t be sad,” Freya said, embracing Louise, “I’m glad you’re back home and that you’re safe.”
“Judging by the greeting I got, she’s in trouble,” Rebekah said in response to Louise being safe.
“Why?” Nik asked.
“She nearly smacked me around the face,” Rebekah replied, glancing at Louise.
“Yeah, sorry about that,” Louise said, rather sheepishly,
“What happened?” Nik asked.
“Marcel. He held me hostage. He didn’t recognise me until I said my name,” Louise started to explain.
“I’m going to kill him,” Nik interrupted.
“Once he realised who I was, he let me go but I left him behind. I had to as the person who wanted me was arriving. So, when, someone touched my shoulder, I was scared and with all my emotions over the place, Rebekah turned out to be nearest source.” Louise finished.
“But you can control them.” Elijah commented.
“I can but with recent events and hormones, it’s been a challenge,” She replied truthfully.
“Hormones,” Rebekah and Freya asked at the same time, glancing at Louise.
“You don’t know,” She whispered, sighing softly, “The past few months have been really busy for me, since the battle. Well, I’ve fallen in love and got married, with child and accidentally made an enemy,” Louise explained.
“Made an enemy like a true Mikaelsons,” Niklaus said, as if he was proud of Louise.
“Yes, but unfortunately, for the sake of my husband, I have to try and be civil with him,” Louise said, glancing down to the floor, “And isn’t making enemies what Mikaelson’s do best,” She added cheekily.
“Louise,” Freya called out, alarmed with Rebekah scooping her up in her arms.
With Freya and Rebekah taking Louise up to the bedroom, they were all clearly concerned about her health and safety.
With her eyes flickering open and shut, Louise tried to work out on where she was. She knew she was in her old bedroom and was laid in her old bed. Laying there, she thought back to the memories in where she was the happiest and belonged somewhere. Coming out of her thoughts, she could hear people shouting. It was probably Niklaus and Marcel. Well, they did have good reason to be shouting.
“I didn’t know it was Louise,” Marcel shouted.
Opening the door, she was relieved to see him, hoping that she was now safe and could return home to her husband.
“Kidnapping family, especially ones who are expecting is low for you,” Klaus said angrily.
“Expecting?” Marcel asked surprised, “I let her go, once I realised. I was going to bring her here, but the person turned up with his accomplice. I let Louise escape,” Marcel explained, “I think the accomplice wasn’t aware of the plan and may have a history of some sort with Louise.”
Hearing the words, her eyes widened and was about to make her presence known, until she saw the rather short figure of the Sheriff appearing and Guy standing in the doorway. Seeing her husband, Louise smiled slightly, but seeing how he was, Louise could tell that there was something with him which seemed to be distressing him.
“Ah Marcel. I am assuming you’ve brought me to where she’s hiding.” The Sheriff said angrily.
“Actually, I haven’t” Marcel said, looking at the Mikaelson’s.
“Whatever your plans are with my niece, Louise Lily Mikaelson, you will forget about them and leave this house at once,” Klaus said angrily, “Now get out of our house,” He shouted.
With the shout of Klaus, being heard throughout the house, Louise jumped watching the scene in front of her. Well, this was a mess. There was no way that Guy could have been the Sheriff’s accomplice not with her welfare at risk and now Guy had unknowingly met the Mikaelson’s. Seeing the Sheriff walking out of the house, Louise raised an eyebrow slightly, wondering if Guy was going to follow or not. Opening her door wider, Louise made her way onto landing, as she watched what was happening. Realising that Guy wasn’t going anywhere, Louise wondered what his plan was or whether he was waiting for confirmation on where she was.
“What are you still doing here?” Klaus asked, looking at Guy, “I said leave,” he repeated.
“Niklaus,” Elijah said, keeping his gaze on the male. Elijah had recognised him and realised that he was Louise’s husband as he had seen them together at Louise’s wedding.
Knowing what she had to do, Louise was nervous as this wasn’t the way she wanted anyone to meet the Mikaelson’s. Realising that Guy wasn’t leaving, she knew she had to pick the courage up to do the introductions.
“He can stay,” Louise said, when she was halfway down the stairs.
“I said leave,” Nik shouted, at the same time as Louise, making it impossible to hear what Louise had said.
Seeing Louise, Guy had wanted to head towards her and hug her tightly, but he thought against it, looking to the man who had shouted at him.
“I won’t,” Guy said sternly.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Louise looked round but upon hearing Guy’s words, a weak smile appeared, although Klaus seemed to be near breaking point with his anger.
“You should be resting,” Freya said quietly, standing next to Louise.
“Stay out of it,” Klaus demanded, obviously hearing Freya’s words to Louise.
“He can stay,” Louise repeated, “You hurt him, you hurt family,” She continued, making her way towards Guy, “He’s, my husband.”
The moment she had said that she knew that there was going to be questions which would be asked.
“Crap!” Marcel said, with everyone quickly glancing at him, “I’ll see you around,” he said quietly leaving the house.
“Husband?” Rebekah asked, glancing towards the male and then to Louise.
Being close to Guy and with Marcel also being there, she was hoping that there wasn’t going to be any trouble. Standing in front of Guy, Louise hugged him tightly, “If he realised it was me, he wouldn’t have done it,” She whispered feeling his arms around her. With the familiar feeling, relief swept through her, knowing she was safe, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gone,” she said quietly, glancing up into his eyes, before glancing back to her family noticing Niklaus absence. It was typical Niklaus. He would be back when he had eventually calmed down.
“Louise,” Freya said determined that Louise would listen to her, “You need your rest.”
“I’m fine,” she objected, looking at both Freya and Rebekah.
“Fainting isn’t fine, Louise,” Rebekah said.
“Again?” Guy asked, glancing at Rebekah and Freya before returning his gaze to Louise. “They’re right. You do need your rest.” He said, agreeing with the other two women.
“This has happened before?” Rebekah asked, not quite believing in what she was hearing.
“If you say so,” Louise said, knowing deep down that they were all right.
Standing in the bedroom, Louise glanced around, thinking back to when she was last here. She had grown up- she was no longer that eleven-year-old girl. She was no longer innocent- like she had been back then. Hearing the door open, Louise glanced to the door wondering on how it was or could be.
“What happened?” Guy asked, closing the door behind him.
“I’m not sure. It happened all too quick but Marcel, he wouldn’t have hurt me. He let me go once he realised it was me.” Louise explained.
“But he was knocked out,” Guy said, not wanting to believe what Louise was saying.
“He did say to make it look convincing,” Louise replied, turning around, keeping her attention on her husband, “And plus he knows how to annoy me.” She said truthfully wondering if Guy would believe her or not.
“How did he do it?” He asked, walking towards Louise.
“Ever since I knew my full name, there’s always been that one name I didn’t like. Most people know I don’t like this name, so they try not to use it,” Louise explained, “But Marcel, he sometimes uses it, to annoy me.”
“Calypso,” Guy whispered, looking down at Louise.
“Yes, but don’t get any ideas in using it,” Louise said, “You’ve already seen what happens when people call me it,” She finished with a cheeky smirk on her face. “I didn’t mean for you to meet the Mikaelsons like this.” She stated truthfully.
“It wasn’t ideal,” he said truthfully.
“I know and I’m sorry” She said quietly, “They’ll be no more surprises or shocks. I promise.” She said, hoping that he would believe her.
Even though some things had been sorted out yesterday, there was plenty of things which was coming to her mind in which she needed to sort out for her, Guy and the family they were starting. In her mind, the Sheriff had seemed to make himself a problem, a problem Louise would like to sort out. However, that was easier said then done. Sighing softly to herself, she sat up, determined to get her own way. The Mikaelson’s knew exactly what she was like.
Looking to the side of the bed, Louise was surprised to see Guy sleeping there. She had wondered if yesterday had actually happened but obviously it had with her being with the Mikaelson’s and with Guy being nearby. Not wanting to wake him up, she quickly got dressed as silently as she could. Changing into a pair of jeans, pink and white gingham t-shirt and black boots, Louise made her way around the familiar house with happy memories coming back. She had missed this place, missed being here around her family. Coming across the main living room, a smile appeared on her face. They had all been in this situation when they had been talking about her eight years ago. That time it was about her attending Hogwarts, now they were devising a plan to keep her safe. Rolling her eyes, she sighed mentally in frustration that the Mikaelsons’ was still treating her like a little girl. Obviously, they weren’t aware that she could take care of herself, having managed to do it for the past year and by holding her own, when she participated in the Battle of Hogwarts.
“I think I should have a say,” Louise said, making her presence known. This definitely reminded her of the time when they were arguing about her going to Hogwarts. With the family looking at her, Louise looked at them, with determination in her eyes. “And plus, I can protect myself. I’m not the same girl I was when I left to go to Hogwarts,” She explained, hoping to at least win one Mikaelson over to her side.
“Louise, that man,” Elijah started wondering if Louise would listen to him.
“I can and will deal with him in my own way,” she stated, “probably when he think I’ve forgotten about what’s happened,” She continued, “After all I’ve had the Mikaelsons bringing me up, so I know how to handle people we don’t get along with.”
“Stay here, where you are safe,” Klaus suggested looking straight at Louise. To him, Louise was his niece, and she would always be his niece.
Hearing the words in what Klaus had said, Louise was surprised to hear them. However, it did make sense to her as she would be out of the Sheriff’s way. The only negative she could think of was her friends and family. What about Guy? She couldn’t leave him.
“I can’t,” Louise replied, “I’ve got family to think about.”
“Think about it Louise,” Klaus instructed her.
“I’ve already decided Klaus, I’m going…”
“Louise, I’m with them,” Guy said knowing full well that she wouldn’t like what he was saying, but he needed his say. Noticing a scowl on her face, Guy simply carried on, “I will not allow you to put your life or our child’s life in danger,” Guy said calmly but sternly.
“Fine,” She said coldly, heading out of the room,” Carry on making decisions without me,” She finished heading out of the house with the door slamming shut behind her.
Why was everyone ganging up on her? All she wanted was to be able to make her own decisions about the problems she was facing. However, she knew that Mikaelson’s and Guy was trying to protect her by saying those things.
“Some things never change,” Rebekah said glancing at her brother and then at Guy, “Why can’t you let her make her own choices?” Rebekah asked, following Louise out of the property. She was going to find Louise and have a good conversation with her. After all the Mikaelson women needed to stick together when it came to her brothers.
Sitting by the docks, Louise looked out towards the horizon. She had never thought about the view but now she realised how much she had missed it. Sitting there, she knew it wouldn’t be long until one of the Mikaelson’s found her and took her back home much to her own annoyance. While she was sitting there, she knew that Klaus and Guy were both right. Realising it, Louise was hesitant on returning to the Mikaelsons. She wanted to enjoy her freedom for as long as she could. Hearing a noise behind her, Louise sighed softly, looking around. Seeing Rebekah, she assumed that her brothers had sent her.
“They’ve sent you, haven’t they?” Louise asked, letting her gaze fall on the floor.
“No, they haven’t,” Rebekah replied, taking a seat next to Louise, “But I do agree with them Louise.” Seeing Louise’s protests, she carried on with what she was saying, watching Louise, “But if you don’t wish to stay here, then all or part of the family could move,” Rebekah suggested, wondering if it was something Louise would agree to.
“Do you think Klaus would go for it?” Louise asked, knowing if he did it would be a huge compromise for him, “I can’t leave family Bekah. I just can’t,” she said quietly, feeling a tear run down her cheek.
“I know,” Rebekah said, placing an arm around Louise, “And you’re not. I know what it was like the first year you went to Hogwarts.”
“The stubborn excitable Louise,” Louise started, “How things have changed?” She asked in amusement.
“Things haven’t changed that much,” Rebekah replied, “You are still the stubborn little Mikaelson you were back then.”
Hearing Rebekah’s words, Louise laughed for a second, “That I am. Always will be stubborn,” She said glancing to Rebekah, “And I always get what I want- well most of the time I do.”
“That you do but for now, you need to put your safety first for you and your unborn baby.”
“Bekah I wish it was easy but for the past seven years, I’ve done things, faced monsters you wouldn’t believe,” Louise explained, “I kind of became a dare devil, who broke the rules.
“Hope never mentioned anything.” Rebekah commented.
Looking at the water, Louise bit on her lip, realising that Hope had kept her promises, “I’m surprised, she didn’t tell you.” Louise commented, “She didn’t tell you or the family about anything of what happened?” Louise asked.
“I think Klaus and Freya got bits, especially when you were in trouble.” Rebekah started, “but I think you should tell me” she said quietly.
Sighing softly to herself, Louise wondered if Rebekah would believe her. “Well, I’ve faced big spiders, and by big, I mean enormous spiders, saved my father, saw my brother take part in a tournament where a student lost his life, saw my father murdered. In my fifth year, Hope’s fourth year, I wasn’t the model student, joined an illegal group with Hope and well my sixth year was pretty much the calm before the storm.” She explained, looking at Rebekah who seemed shocked to hear about the things, Louise had been through.
“Saved your father?” Rebekah asked, “He was imprisoned.”
“He escaped around the time I learnt the truth about Sirius being my dad and Remus being my godfather.” Louise explained.
“We always wondered how you found that out,” Rebekah said quietly, swallowing hardly. “Well, I know you can protect yourself but for the sake of our family and your husband, I think we should indulge them in their efforts to protect you,” Rebekah said.
Hearing the words, Louise rolled her eyes, annoyed, “Rebekah,” She started but was cut off.
“No arguments. I will come with you and if any of the family follows, that is up to them.”
“I can agree to that,” Louise said quietly relieved that someone understood what she was saying, “Thank you. I know the family must be angry with me, with not inviting you to the wedding,” she said quietly.
“We were but Elijah explained,” Rebekah said, looking at Louise, “But for now, lets get you home before Klaus decides to send a search party out for you.”
“That would be typical Klaus though,” Louise said.
“Exactly, all the more reason to get you home,” Rebakah said standing up, keeping her gaze on Louise.
“Rebekah,” Marcel said, with him recognising her from the distance.
With Rebekah hearing her name, she spun round and upon seeing Marcel, gave him a well deserved smack around, the face, “That is for what you did to Louise.”
Seeing the smack, Louise’s eyes widened, standing up, “Rebekah,” She exclaimed, “He didn’t realise it was me.” She said truthfully.
“She’s right,” Marcel said quietly, “Has Klaus calmed down yet?”
“What do you expect? You took his niece, your own cousin,” Rebekah started, “But maybe instead of worrying about Klaus, worry about her husband.”
“Bekah!”
“Husband?” Marcel asked shocked, “Ah yes, the other male who seemed preoccupied with something else.”
“Marcel, don’t,” Louise said, “And Rebekah is right, you should be worried. Preoccupied yes- only because his wife and the mother of his unborn child was missing,” She explained.
“I’m sorry Louise.” Marcel apologised.
“You put it right. You let me go.”
“And we should be heading home, while you lay low,” Rebekah suggested.
It wasn’t long until Rebekah and Louise had arrived at the Mikaelson’s Compound. Swallowing hardly, Louise knew in what she needed to do. They both knew what their parts was in agreeing for Louise to go back home to Locksley Manor and with Guy. Leaving Rebekah downstairs to deal with her brothers, Louise was heading upstairs, wondering if her husband was in her bedroom or not. Entering the bedroom, she was surprised to see Guy, smiling weakly. Knowing that she was in the wrong for walking away, but for her she hadn’t liked being ganged up on.
“I’m sorry for walking off,” Louise said, making her way towards Guy on the bed, “I know that you were trying to protect me, but I can’t leave you or Harry or any of my friends,” she said, keeping her gaze on Guy.
Hearing Louise, he turned his head, listening to the words she was saying. It seemed like that being with Rebekah had worked in a way. “I know but we are only trying to protect you,” He whispered, taking her arm, bringing her in close.
“I know, which is why I’m going to return home, with you,” Louise stated, “But to make sure I’m safe, Rebekah has decided she will come with us.”
Seeing Guy’s expression relaxing, he smirked, “You know how to get things your own way.”
“I’ve had great teachers,” Louise stated cheekily, “So do you agree?” She asked wondering what the answer would be.
“If it makes you happy,” he replied, kissing her on the lips, “But don’t anger the Sheriff anymore.”
“I wont unless he starts on me first,” She stated, resting her head on his shoulder, feeling his arms around her.
