Chapter 12
Laying in bed, Louise glanced up at the ceiling as she had wondered how she had got to this place. Guy had returned to Locksley, the day he had agreed about Louise returning to Locksley but he had insisted that Louise had to stay with the Mikaelson’s for the foreseeable future. That was something in which she found hard to agree with but agreed to it just to keep the peace.
Removing the covers, Louise sighed as she quickly got ready for the day ahead. Walking down the stairs, Louise glanced around, not believing how quiet it was. They was obviously out and that was something what Louise intended to. She had to get out as she was getting cabin fever at being shut indoors all the time.
Even though she had been found safe and well, Louise knew that she had a lot of explaining to do and that was something she was dreading as she had no explanations she could give. Hearing the doorbell ring, Louise spun round as her eyes fell a familiar figure with her mouth dropping open in shock.
Opening the door, Louise glanced at him, “Matthew,” Louise whispered to herself, “Can I help you with anything?”
“Cyrus sent me,” Matthew replied.
Hearing Cyrus name, Louise swallowed hardly as she glanced away, “I guess you should come in then.” She said allowing the male to enter. “What does he want?” Louise said, closing the door, heading towards the living room.
“He just wanted to know that you were safe and that you were ok,” Matthew explained, following Louise, entering the living room.
“Well as you can see I’m fine and I’m safe,” She said in a matter of fact way, “But why are you really here?” She asked.
“I needed to see you,” Matthew explained, “Ever since that year I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind.”
Hearing the words, Louise stood still, shock sweeping through her- knowing exactly what year he had meant. That year had been so perfect in one hand but in the other it was the year when everything changed.
“Matthew, stop” Louise said quietly, “I’m married now.” She said simply, “And plus I’m not that fourteen year old girl anymore.” Louise said simply, “We agreed to be friends that year” Louise reminded him.
“But we could have had more,”
“We could have but things happened out of our control,” Louise said, “Matthew, I will always remember that year with happy, fond memories and there’ll always be what if’s but for now we need to remember what Dumbledore said at the end of that year about friendship.” Louise said simply, looking into his eyes, hoping he would understand.
“I just thought, “Matthew started, as he placed his hand on Louise face, “That they’ll be a chance for us, for us to have something. A second chance,” He finished, placing a kiss on Louise’s lips.
Pulling away, Louise looked shocked at him, smacking him around the face, “I think you should go now,” She said angrily, turning her back onto Matthew, “Before they come back.” She said quietly.
Standing there, Louise heard Matthew walking away and she sighed out of relief but had no idea what he was really thinking of. Of course, she knew he had feelings for her and so did she if she was being truthful to herself. Swallowing hardly, Louise stepped out to see Rebekah coming in. They didn’t need to know what had just happened.
“Who was he?” Rebekah asked, glancing at Louise, “Did something happen?”
“No, nothing happened,” Louise replied quickly, “Well not from me,” She said quietly.
“Louise,” Rebekah said, “What happened?”
“Nothing. I sorted it. He wont be a problem,” Louise replied, glancing to her. If she were to tell her what had just happened, she knew that other people would find out and the last thing she wanted was for it to get back to her husband.
“Who was he, Louise?” Rebekah asked.
“It was Matthew,” Louise replied, glancing to Rebekah.
“Matthew as in the Matthew from your fourth year?” She asked, to see Louise nodding to confirm it.
“Did anything happen?” Rebekah asked to Louise nodding.
“No. He tried to kiss me but I pulled away, the moment he started,” Louise replied, glancing to the other woman, wondering if she would believe her or whether she would tell anyone else.
“Its fine, I believe you,” She whispered bringing Louise into a hug, “The sooner you’re back with your husband, the better.” Rebekah whispered truthfully.
Xxx
It had been a few weeks since Louise was last seen in Storybrooke- having had some much needed time with family. Over the course of the weeks, she had been away she had begun to miss her friends and family. The Mikaelson’s however had decided to move to Storybrooke when Hope had come home for the Christmas Holidays.
Being on the outskirts of Storybrooke, Louise was nervous for returning. Things had changed- things had happened while she was away.
Pulling up outside of the Mikaelson’s new home, Louise and Hope got out of the car, they were in, glancing around. Nothing had really changed- well the seasons had changed and the town seemed to be decorated up for Christmas.
“We’ll leave you lot to unpack,” Hope said, glancing to the family.
“Remember, no trouble,” Klaus said as Hope and Louise glanced at each other.
It hadn’t taken them long until they reached the centre of Storybrooke and Louise was quite surprised in that they hadn’t seen anyone yet. Stopping still, Louise grabbed Hope’s arm as her eyes widened in shock, “What’s happening over there?” She asked, looking in the direction.
“I don’t know but is that Matthew?” Hope asked, glancing to Louise, “With your husband.” She whispered.
“I’ve got no idea in what’s happening there,” Louise said quietly and truthfully, “Hope,” She called out, noticing Hope was walking in that direction.
Watching Hope, walk in that direction, Louise sighed in frustration.
“Matthew,” Hope called out as both Matthew and Guy looked at her.
They were obviously shocked to Hope there.
“Hope,” Matthew said surprised, just when Hope slapped him around the face.
“That’s for a few weeks ago,” Hope said coldly.
Seeing the slap, Louise rolled her eyes, although she couldn’t help but think that Matthew deserved everything he was getting. Quickly glancing to Guy, she smiled slightly as she watched him approach her. This was definitely going to be an eventful conversation.
“What happened there?” Guy asked referring to the confrontation between Hope and Matthew.
“Long story but he deserves it,” Louise replied, “You two seem friendly.” She commented.
“Long story but he’s family,” Guy replied with Louises eyes widening with the reply.
“I’ve been away for too long,” She said quietly, “I’ve missed you.” She said a smile on her face, “I don’t want to be away from you again.” She said truthfully.
“It hasn’t been the same without you,” Guy said simply.
“Well I don’t need to go anywhere,” She said simply, “You’re welcome to come round to the new place tonight.”
Nodding his head, Guy simply agreed to come with a warm smile appearing.
“It’s nice to see you again,” Guy said quietly.
With them noticing, Hope walking away from Matthew, Louise watched her for a moment, “Out of your system?”
“For now,” Hope replied.
Having been back in Storybrooke for a few hours, Louise was laid in bed, resting her hands on her ever growing stomach. Hearing a gentle knock on her door, Louise sighed softly but when the door opened without her waiting, she glanced to the door. Seeing Hope, a weak smile appeared, sitting up in bed. Noticing that she was holding some papers, a small frown appeared.
“What’s up Hope?” Louise asked.
“Can you believe it was four years ago, when we didn’t come home because of the Yule Ball? Hope asked, taking a seat on the bed, handing, Louise some photos.
“We look so young, so innocent there,” Louise said simply, “Sometimes it feels like it was only yesterday.”
“It was the year when everything changed for both of us,” Hope said, looking down at the photos. “If you had said to either one of us that one of us would be married or pregnant in four years time, we would have laughed in there faces.”
“Yeah we would have. Definitely.” Louise said laughing slightly, picking up a photo of her and Matthew, “Although, I think this one should go somewhere where it can never been seen again.”
“It’ll be fine,” Hope started but stopped, when there was another knocking sound at the door. They both glanced at each other.
“Come in,” Hope shouted.
Hearing Hope shout, and the door opening, Louise’s eyes widened in shock with her husband coming in. Shoving the photograph of her and Matthew under another one.
“Sir Guy,” Hope said quietly, glancing to Louise.
“I’ll be fine, Hope,” She said truthfully, keeping her gaze on her husband, “I thought you wasn’t coming,” She said quietly.
“I think we have been apart for too long,” He said quietly, glancing to the photos on the bed.
“I’ll leave you two to it,” Hope said, getting up, “You may have heard this plenty of times but look after her. Louise is my cousin and best friend but trouble has a way of coming for her.” Hope explained before leaving the room.
“Hope” Louise whispered, her cheeks blushing. When it was just the two of them, Louise placed the photos on her bedside table, glancing to Guy, “We were just remembering some good times,” She stated, patting the place where Hope had been.
“Its been bugging me since earlier, but how do you know Archer?” Guy asked but seeing a confused look on Louise face, “Matthew”
Hearing Matthew’s name, Louise swallowed hardly, “It was from four years ago when a school I attended had students from two other schools attending for a year long tournament. Matthew was one of the students visiting for the year. During the months he was there, there was a brief relationship but it stopped the minute when a student from the school I attended passed away. Since that day, I thought we was friends but he turned up a few weeks ago,” She paused, swallowing hardly, keeping her attention on Guy, “Matthew overstepped boundaries by kissing me. I pulled away the minute he did it and I told him to leave straightaway.” She said, truthfully.
“He did what?” Guy asked, shocked to hear what had happened, “He’s my brother.”
Hearing the words, Louise’s eyes widened in shocked with a gasp escaping her, “Brother?” She asked, not entirely sure she had heard him right, “He told me he was an only child.” She stated
“He came around three years ago, stating that he had been adopted and that I was his biological brother. I was not overly keen on him then,” Guy said simply ,”And then a few weeks ago, he reappeared stating that he had been reminded of someone saying about bonds of friendship. He seemed downcast and he had a mark on his face.”
Hearing the words, Louise glanced down, knowing that she had been the one who had reminded him. She almost felt guilty for him, “And that is why you know him as Archer?” Louise asked, glancing to her husband, just to see him nodding his head in confirmation.
“Do you love him?” Guy asked, looking at Louise.
“No” She replied, almost instantly, “I love you. My heart belongs to you Guy of Gisborne.” Louise said simply, standing up, taking his hand, gently placing a kiss on his hand, placing her other hand on his face. “It will always be you.”
Hearing the words in what Louise had said, Guy smiled, taking her hand, kissing her on the lips, wrapping his arms around her. It was like the confirmation he had needed. Louise was his and in truth he shouldn’t have doubted her.
Laying in bed, Louise glanced up at Guy to see that his eyes was closed. Surely he couldn’t be asleep. Smiling to herself, she placed her head on his chest as her arm laid across his chest. This had the most perfect time. Feeling his hand on her face, Louise smiled, looking up at him, “Yes,” She whispered.
“Come home with me” Guy said quietly.
“I will” She whispered, “I would have come home weeks ago,” She stated truthfully.
The next morning, Louise woke up, almost feeling like that yesterday had been a dream. Sitting up in bed, she ran a hand through her hair, glancing to the other side of her bed to see her husband there. It hadn’t been a dream and she knew what she needed to do whether they would let her or not.
Getting changed into a lilac dress with black leggings, Louise looked at herself in the mirror, pulling a face in disgust, placing a hand on her ever growing pregnancy bump. Glancing back to the bed, she noticed that her husband was awake and was watching her rather intently.
“There’s no hiding it now, is there?” Guy asked, keeping his attention on Louise.
“No there isn’t,” Louise stated simply, “But you are not the one who feels like you are being used as a football.” She said smiling softly, walking over to the bed, gently placing a kiss on Guy's lips.
“You are absolutely sure you want me home?” Louise asked, “I just mean with the Sheriff and...”
“Locksley has not been the same without you,” He said simply but truthfully, “its where Lady Gisborne should be.” Guy said quietly as Louise nodded her head. “I have already sent word that I would be returning today with you,” Guy stated, letting his gaze to fall on his wife, “Archer will be there. That won’t be a problem will it?”
Hearing the words, Louise nodded in understanding but hearing that Archer would be there, Louise swallowed hardly, “It’s not a problem for me.” Louise stated.
Having told the Mikaelson family about going back to Locksley, Louise had been met with opposition of her going but Louise had pointed out that she was originally going to stay for a few days. Well that is what she thought the plan had been. Sitting in the coach, Louise swallowed hardly, glancing out of the window as the fields went by. She was nervous in going back to Locksley but she knew that she had made the right decision.
Arriving at Locksley, Louise glanced across to her husband, taking his hand. With the coach stopping outside of Locksley Manor, Guy quickly glanced at Louise and was met with one of her warm smiles. With the door opening, Guy made his way out, waiting for Louise. With Louise exiting the coach, Guy held his hand out, allowing Louise to take it as the couple made there way into Locksley Manor. Being inside the manor, Louise relaxed, glancing around the familiar house.
Noticing Archer coming down the stairs, Louise glanced to him, almost with a cold expression on her face.
“Louise?” Archer whispered, shocked to see her.
“Archer, this is my wife, Louise,” Guy said simply, glancing between the two,
“Nice to meet you, Archer,” Louise said kindly, a warm smile appearing.
“Nice to meet you too,” Archer said, a cheeky smile appearing.
Seeing the cheeky smile, Louise raised an eyebrow slightly. He hadn’t changed- he was still the same as he had been four years ago. Watching him, Louise noticed that he was heading towards the door.
“Where are you going?” Guy asked to Archer
“Going out,” Archer replied, “If you don’t trust me, maybe Lady Gisborne could join me.”
Hearing the words, Louise’s eyes widened, keeping her gaze on Archer, “No thank you. I’m sure you’ll be fine on your own.” Louise said simply, looking at Guy for a moment.
“Fair enough,” Archer said leaving Locksley Manor.
“Was that him trying his luck?” Guy asked, glancing to his wife.
“He has always been like that,” Louise stated, “but yes it was. You have got nothing to worry about.” Louise stated truthfully, walking into the living room. As she did a servant approached Guy with news that the Sheriff had been expecting him at Nottingham Castle first thing. With Guy sighing in frustration, Louise turned to him, “Anything a problem?” Louise asked.
“Just the Sheriff,” Guy replied, “I should have been there this morning.” He explained.
“Well go. I’ll be okay here.” Louise said truthfully, “What is the worst in what can happen?” She asked hoping that it would put Guy’s mind at ease.
“Just be careful and take things easy.” He whispered, bringing her into a hug.
“I will,” she whispered, watching him leave Locksley and ride of into the distance.
The rest of the day had seemed to pass by almost without incident. Realising the time, Louise let out a yawn, getting up and walking to the stairs, however she stopped when the door opened. Noticing Archer coming back in, Louise glanced at him with returning the look.
“I think we need to talk,” Archer said simply, keeping his gaze on his sister-in-law.
“Yes we do,” Louise agreed, “But can’t it wait until tomorrow?” She asked.
“How much does he know?” Archer asked, walking towards Louise.
“Guy knows about everything, including what happened a few weeks ago,” Louise explained, “Only child?” She asked
“That was true as I was. They told me the truth when I got back. I was going to tell you at the wedding, but never had the chance.” Archer explained.
“It was a good day, until they arrived,” Louise commented, glancing down to the floor.
“It was” Arched agreed, “I was hoping to be able to talk to you after they left but you had disappeared.”
“I had to,” Louise whispered, “I had to keep my family and friends safe. That even included Hope. I didn’t want to do it but if there had been any other way I could have stayed and kept the people I cared about safe, then I would have done it.” Louise said, truthfully.
“I understand. I can’t imagine what you have been through,” Archer said, keeping his gaze on Louise, “If you ever want to talk about any of it, my door will always be open.”
“Thank you,” Louise said surprised, heading up the stairs.
