“Ongsa. Do you really want to do this?” Alpha asked. Her, Charoen, Luna, and Aylin were surrounding the girl who was begging for their help.
“Yes! I want to ask Sun out to prom!”
“In this outfit?” Charoen asks, pointing to the picture Ongsa was showing them.
“Yeah. I saw a lot of people like it, so I want to try it!” Ongsa says desperately.
“Okay…”
“I don’t know if this is the outfit you want.” Luna shakes her head.
“I think this is too much for human cousin,” Aylin adds.
“Yeah I know it's a lot. I’m nervous just thinking about it”
“Then why do you want to do it!” Luna asks.
“Because! Even though we have been dating, I saw some random guy talk to her and gave her a card today. I know he just asked her out!” Ongas complains.
“Did she say yes!?” Alpha asks, surprised.
“No, I don’t think so. I didn't know what she said but I have faith in Sun.”
“Then why do you need to do this?” Charoen asked.
“Well I don’t want to feel like she’s just settling with me. So many other people who are better looking are still asking her out! I want to look good for her!” All the girls looked at Ongsa with pity, with Alpha noticeably tightening her fist.
“So you want to look like this?” Luna asks, pointing to the phone and Aylin nods along.
“Yeah!”
“And you are sure you’re not going to get in trouble”
“No, it's fine. Around prom time the staff lets the students wear whatever they want. It’s mostly for guys wanting to look good to the girls but I guess the same applies here.” Alpha explains.
“Alrightttttt. Just saying this might be a little much” Luna rolls her eyes.
“Yeah she might faint if she sees you like this!” Charoen adds.
“Is that a good thing?” Ongsa asked her friend, who shook her head at Ongsa’s daftness.
“We’ll see.” Alpha says with caution. “Anyway, when do you want to ask her?”
“Monday?”
“So you want us to use our weekend for this!” Charoen smacks her head.
“Sorry about this, but I want to do it as soon as possible!”
“We can help,” Alpha reassures her. The other girls who looked doubtful were suddenly persuaded by Alpha glare at the others. “Girls, come to my room. I have some makeup but we should make a list of the stuff we need.” Everyone gets up, and Alpha puts a hand in front of Ongsa. “No no no. You are not coming”
“What? Why?”
“Name one thing you know about makeup”
“...I know it makes people look better”. Everyone groans.
“That's what I thought. Just make sure you have enough money for anything that you’ll need. I’ll be nice and buy anything I’m gonna take afterwards since I know you’ll never use it again.” Ongsa smiles at her sister's generosity. “Everyone else, come with me” Alpha commands and the rest obey. After everyone left Ongsa’s room and went into Alpha’s rule, everyone was ready to say what they really felt.
“Sooooo… are we actually gonna let her go through with it?” Luna asks.
“I don’t think we should. Human cousin might fuck this up.”
“I agree. This idea of hers is really last minute.” Alpha holds her head.
“So we are stopping her, right?”
“I don't know. I kinda want to see her in that style” Charoen adds.
“Yeah you and every guy and girl that started drooling over Ongsa since the sports festival.” Luna adds.
“Oh my god. She’s gonna get hit on so much after this” Charoen laughs.
“Oh she is gonna lose it when that happens…” Alpha groans.
“So we are stopping human cousin?.” Aylin asked everyone.
“Let’s just do it,” Charoen said and everyone stared at her. “C’mon! Ongsa is doing it for Sun and I Sun would love this. Probably not the part where all of the school hits on her, but it’s sweet that she wants to look good for Sun”
“I prefer if she thought she was enough for Sun” Alpha glares and grits her teeth. Her sister’s lack of self esteem always frustrated her.
“I think all of us would like it if Ongsa grew some self esteem, but do you think that is gonna happen in three days?” Alpha rolls her eyes at Charoen's question. “Let’s just help her out. She’s gonna complain if we don’t.”
“Fine”
“Alright”
“Affirmative”
“Alright. I’m gonna text Ton to help us”
“Why Ton?” Aylin asked.
“Cause if the sports festival is any indicator, he’s really good at these things”
“Fair.” Luna agrees.
“Alright. Operation Bad Bitch Ongsa is a go!” Chareon declares.
“Don’t call my sister a bitch” Alpha scolds her.
“Calm down, it's just an expression!. I’ll just shorten it to Operation B.B.O then. Is that fine?.” Charoen asks with her hands up.
“Whatever. C’mon. Let’s see what we can use here.” Alpha heads towards her drawers and starts looking. “If you guys have stuff at home. Can you bring it tomorrow so she can save some money” The three girls agreed and they started looking through Alpha’s drawers and cabinets of clothes and makeup. They found some of the supplies they needed, and when they got home they were able to get even more.
Saturday came.. The girls and Ton went and helped Ongsa get everything she needed. They honestly didn’t need much, mostly just clothes needed for this. After getting everything Ongsa needed, the other girls went and shopped around while her and Ton sat in the foot court and waited. Ton saw her looking down at everything she bought with fear in her eye, and decided to turn on his big brother mode to help.
“What’s wrong Ongsa? Regretting your idea?” Ton asked while eating.
“A bit. I don’t know if it's going to work and even if I get the look down, I don’t think I can act the part.”
“What part?”
“Well the woman in the drama had so much confidence. I don’t have any of it!” Ongsa complains. “What if I look like an idiot in front of everyone.”
“Nonsense. You did fine at the sports festival and everyone was talking to you then!”
“Yeah but that was different.”
“Not really. You were different during the sports festival. More stoic and less nervous. Just put on the same act.”
“Yeah but that wasn’t cool”
“Hmmm. Well, just try and copy the lady in the drama.”
“I’m not an actor”
“I’m not saying to try and win any award. Honestly if you just calm yourself down and don’t overthink you’ll be fine.” Ton admits. “Just watch the show to get a vibe for how you are supposed to act. And tomorrow I can help you prepare some lines to say so you won’t be nervous. Is that good?” he says and Ongsa still didn’t look confident, but she did feel better.
“...Thanks”
“No problem. Look, the other seems to be almost done. Let’s finish up and join them” Ton says and Ongsa agrees. They finish up their food and join the rest of the gang. They go home and assemble and make sure everything fits. They also do a test run for the makeup that had some issues that went into the next day, while also helping Ongsa practice some lines to say so she doesn't embarrass herself.
Monday was here. She woke up early along with Alpha and got ready. They snuck out before their parents were up since both Alpha and Ongsa knew they wouldn’t allow her to leave the house like that. They went to Chareon’s house, whose parents offered them some breakfast along with compliments and concerns for Ongsa’a choice of apparel. The four other girls waved them off, but thought the same thing.
Ongsa hid the flowers for Sun and a spare outfit in her bag and got a ride with Luna’s mom. The four other girls were readying themselves for today since they all knew that Ongsa was going to rock the school today.

‘Another one for Ongsa?” Deer asked, pointing to a card.
“Yeah. Another *fucking* card for Ongsa, asking her to prom.” Sun says, seething with rage.
“Damn the girl got popular quickly.” Vee adds.
“I know right. I know she is a cutie but I think the whole sports festival really made people look at her in a new light.” Deer says. Sun was too annoyed with the random guys and girls asking about Ongsa to even care about Deer calling her girlfriend a “cutie”.
“I should have stopped that when I had the chance”
“You guys wouldn’t have dated otherwise!” Vee points out.
“I know but… goddamnit. I wish people wouldn’t try to use me to ask her out. Most of the guys don’t believe we are dating, and the girls just plain don’t care! One of them asked if we broke up yet and to let her know when we did! The nerve of that bitch” Sun says, hitting her locker with all her force. Vee and Deer swore she made a dent in it.
“It will be fine. Just throw out the letters and take her to prom. She is going with you right?”
“No duh we are going together. We are dating, it’s a given”
“Yeah but does Ongsa know that?” Deer adds. She became one of Ongsa’s close friends since Sun and Ongsa started dating. Although she knows Ongsa loved Sun, she also knows that sometimes she wasn’t on the same wavelength as Sun. Sun’s eyes widened at this, realizing this too.
“Fuckkkk. I have to ask her out soon before some guy pressures her into going with him”
“Or girl” Deer had to add.
“Yeah…or girl” Sun said annoyed.
Vee taps her friend's shoulders. “Speaking of girls, who is that?” Vee points to the entrance of the school. The two other girls turn around and see the once in a lifetime sight.
Ongsa was walking into school, everyone practically drooling at the heels for her but the fierce look in her eyes made everyone get out her way. Her face was dolled up perfectly. The sharp black eyeliner, bright red lipstick, and light red blush made her seem way more mature than what she normally looks like. She sported a dark blue sleeveless top that was outlined with an unzipped black jacket. The most surprising thing was the skirt. It was black and went knee high, but more surprisingly it was tight with stockings underneath.
It was unusual for Ongsa. If someone told Sun this was a dream, she would believe them.
“Yo, that's Ongsa! What the hell happened to her?”
“I don’t know but she is a total hottie now!”
“...Yeah” Sun whimpers and bites her lips. Her breathing went sporadic and her heart was beating like crazy.
“Uh oh. Looks like the Sun is getting too hot and bothered” Deer teases.
“Yeah I don’t think she is paying attention to us.” Vee points to Ongsa who was looking around in the middle of school. Alpha came up behind her and pointed Ongsa to the three girls. Ongsa then got closer, and closer, and closer… And Sun was feeling the heat.
“Ongsa!” Deer waves at Ongsa and she smiles at the girl and waves back.
“Damn girl, what happened-” before Vee could finish, Deer dragged her friend away, sensing they needed the alone time. Ongsa notes herself to thank Deer and looks at Sun eye to eye. She prepared all night for this, and Ongsa promised herself not too fuck it up.
Sun on the other hand, was having problems functioning. She started to remember she might have had a dream like this once or twice.
“Sun?” Ongsa called for her girlfriend, who was still out of it. “Sun!” she calls again.
“Ongsa?” Sun responded. She didn’t have the right words for this and right now she was trying to control herself or else she was gonna have a nose bleed.
“Sun…” Ongsa says and pulls out a bouquet of roses out of her bag to the surprise of everyone. “...Will you go to the prom with me?” Ongsa asks and Sun thinks this was more and more of a dream. Other students were gathering around from a safe distance and murmuring to themselves. Many were jealous of Sun, and many of the people who tried to use Sun before were hoping she would turn Ongsa down. However, there was no way in hell Sun was going to do that.
“Y-y-y–eess!! I will go with you!” Sun says and takes the flowers. She holds them down for a bit and Ongsa comes in and grabs Sun’s collar for a kiss. When did she get so bold?
“Good.” Ongsa says, grabbing a flabbergasted Sun’s hand. “The bell is about to ring, want to go to class?” Sun nods her hand and Ongsa leads her to their homeroom. Sun’s blush wasn’t going away anytime soon, neither was Ongsa’s new legion of admirers…
—
“Good morning class. I hope you guys are doing well. I have an announcement from the principal that- Excuse me, ma’am. What are you doing in my class?” Ms.Nida asked.
“I’m in this class” Ms.Nida looked to her students to see if any of them had an answer.
“That’s Ongsa!” A student whispered.
“Ongsa! Wow. I see you are trying a new look…but why are you out of uniform?”
“It was to ask someone out to prom, Ms.Nida”
“Oh I see…” Ms.Nida says, still staring at the girl. She was obviously still confused. In her mind, she didn’t understand how the meek quiet girl who always looked to the ground turned into…that, with an intense gaze that made Ms.Nida feel unnerved. Sure, she heard that Ongsa got pretty popular from the sports festival but still! A part believed that her students were punking her, but the voice did match the girl, but it was like she was a grown woman now.
“Ms.Nida?” A student snapped the teacher out of her thoughts.
“Yes! Yes. Uh. Let’s start class.”. Class went on…sorta.
No one was paying attention this time. Many of the students were still in awe of Ongsa. Sun especially was getting real shy everytime she was glancing at Ongas only to find her unapologetically staring at her with a smile.
“SUN!” Ms.Nida yelled, causing the girl to yelp.
“Yes Ms.Nida!”
“I was asking you a question. Were you paying attention?”
“No….Sorry ma’am”
“It’s fine. I guess you’re stuck in your head after getting asked for prom” Sun widens her eyes at her teacher's words. She wondered how she knew before remembering that she brought the flowers Ongsa gave her to class.
“Y-yeah” Sun stutters and stares back at her future prom date. As she was about to ignore Ms.Nida again, the teacher in question saw the way she was looking at Ongsa. Oh… Gears started clicking in Ms.Nida’s head.
“I guess Ongsa wasn’t lying”. The teacher thought.
“Well… whatever the reason is. You still need to pay attention in class. You are here for a reason and I hope you remember that.”
“Yes Ma’am” Sun says while staring at her girlfriend. Ms.Nida gave up on this class, and hoped Ongsa didn’t need a part two for asking her girlfriend out. While Ms.Nida was effectively killing time, the first class finally ended. Ongsa, being a good girlfriend, went back and grabbed Sun’s hand and escorted her to the next classes, with each and every class adding to Ongsa’s popularity.

Lunch came for Ongsa and her girlfriend. It was finally their time to talk to each other. Unfortunately, everyone else saw it as their chance to talk to Ongsa.
The two girls sat down with the rest of their friends, and they were also looking to talk.
“Ongsa. What the fuck” Tinh starts.
“What?”
“How did a lousy girl like you turn into this?”
“...Am I not allowed to?”
“You can but you normally choose not to. Hell you are even wearing makeup. I thought you didn’t know how to use makeup!.” Ongsa looks away a bit embarrassed.
“Tinh. Leave her alone.” Charoen yells at him.
“Why can’t I ask questions?”
“Cause you’re a dick about it”
“So rude. And shameful. Always thinking of dicks. What would your grandfather think?”
“Shut up! That’s what you do, you ho.” Chareon responds, glaring at the boy in front of her.
The two continue to bicker while Ongsa works on eating her lunch. While everyone in their group was talking to each other, Sun was the only one paying attention to the room, and she did not like what she saw.
Everyone around them was looking at Ongsa, looking to try and get in to talk to her. Sun tried to keep her cool, but her possessiveness felt like it was leaking with every second. She was like a lioness, pulling at the leash to go on the attack but unable to in the end. Thankfully no one dared to approach her, until one girl.
“Wow Ongsa. Look at you! You’re gorgeous!” A girl comes up and sits next to her. Sun recognized her immediately, the girl who asked Sun if she and Ongsa had broken up yet.
Not this bitch again!
“...Thanks” Ongsa says without her usual stuttering.
“I was wondering if I could get your line… or even your number if you're comfortable. I want to get to know you a bit better” she asked, leaning over for the girl. Their friends stopped their conversation to see what Ongsa would say.
“Sorry. I don’t give my line or number to people I don’t know.” Ongsa responds in a cool manner. The girl seemed to not be deterred.
“Well how about we get to know each other. My name is Rose. Do you want to hang out today, one on one?” she asked flirtatiously with a wink to top it off. Sun was about to rip Rose’s head off before Ongsa responded.
“Sorry, I’m hanging out with my girlfriend today.”.
“Ahhh, the girlfriend.” Rose moves her gaze towards Sun. “I see… Well if that ever changes, let me know. I wouldn’t mind shooting my shot again” she says, undeterred.
“It won’t but thanks for the offer.” Ongsa shoots her down. Rose shakes her shoulders and leaves. Tinh looks at her like an alien.
“...Seriously though, what the fuck happened?” Tinh asked and looked around. “None of you look surprised. Was I left out on this one?”
“Yup” Charoen answers bluntly.
“What? Really?”
“It’s not our fault you decided to join a gym to hit on guys this weekend!”
“I would have stopped if I'd known you guys were doing this. You never think, do you Charoen?” Charoen reaches over to hit him but he dodges. “Nice try stupid! Do better next-” he said before Chareon throws water at him. While they continue with a food fight, the others decide to mind their own business.
While Sun was proud of how Ongsa handled the situation, she hoped that it would be the last anyone hit on her today.
It was not.
Rose opened Pandora's box. Everyone saw her talking Ongas and saw it wasn’t that hard. Throughout the day many other students tried their luck and although Ongsa shot them all down, it didn’t stop Sun from getting frustrated the whole day.
School ended with Sun at her wits end. Seeing so many guys and girls ogle her girlfriend was pissing her off. She got on her motorcycle, debating on leaving Ongsa as punishment for looking so good, but decided against it for fear someone else would offer her a ride.
“Ongsa, come on before you get hit on again” Sun said to her girlfriend, annoyed.
“I’m coming, I’m coming… Hey Sun, could you do me a favor”
“Sure, what do you need?”
“I need to go to your house to change.” Ongsa explains looking down.
“Ummm…Why?”
“Well my mom doesn’t know that I dressed like this today and if she saw she would flip out… Plus I need your help on something”
“What?”
—
“You seriously don’t know how to take off makeup?” Sun asked her girlfriend. They were back in Sun’s room, both on the bed as Sun helps her girlfriend take off her makeup. Despite Ongsa explaining that she needed help taking off the makeup, Sun still couldn’t believe it.
“...I do not”
“What about the sport’s festival?”
“I had Alpha and Ton take it off for me.” Sun blurted out a snicker.
“Why didn’t you ask me?”
“We literally just started dating! I wanted to look cool!”
“Oh my god. Ongsa I knew how you were back then.” Sun laughs into her hand. “If anyone heard you just now, your new image would be ruined.”
“I don’t care about my image, I dressed up this way for you” Sun blushes at this.
“Well that’s sweet, but why did you? You just gave me a bunch a rivals to fight off”
“They won’t stay long. Besides, I’m just hoping my rivals are scared off…” Sun arched her eyebrows.
“What rivals?” Sun asked. Sure she had a few admirers that asked her out but after the first rejection they don’t tend to try again.
“The guy who gave you a card a couple days ago…I guess he wanted to take you to prom” Sun's eyes widened. She didn’t think Ongsa saw that, and of course since she did and it’s Ongsa, she guessed that Sun was the one being hit on while completely forgetting about her own new popularity.
Honestly If Sun had a choice, she wouldn’t tell Ongsa about any of it, but it doesn’t seem like she had that choice. If Ongsa was going to try and one up any future “admirers” that she might have, she was going to have an army going against her.
“Ongsa. That guy wanted me to give you the card”
“Huh?! 0_0”
“Yeah. A lot of people don’t really think we are dating, so they ask me to give you cards and for your number. I never gave our your number but most of them just leave the cards with me”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Ongsa complained.
“Why would I tell you? Are you gonna date any of them” Sun gave her girlfriend a death stare.
“No, but you shouldn’t be the one to deal with it’
“I’m better equipped to deal with it. Besides, it’s been easy to deal with, albeit a bit frustrating”
“Did you read any of the cards?” Ongsa asked
“Yup. They were just a bunch of sweet nothings, pick up lines, and bullshit.”
“Really? Now I’m curious.”
“If you want to root around in the trash for them, be my guess” Ongsa covered her mouth in shock.
“You threw them out?”
“You bet I did. No one's gonna use me to hit on my girlfriend.” Sun said proudly.
“Ohhh. What a possessive girlfriend.”
“Are you getting annoyed?”
“No, I actually love it.”
Sun smiled and resumed helping Ongsa with makeup.
“Good cause that’s not changing anytime soon. Speaking of which, did you not think that we would already be going to prom together since we were dating?” Sun asked.
“...I didn’t know.” Of course she didn’t know.
“Did you think I was going to go with someone else, or let you go with someone else?”.
“I don’t know but it doesn’t matter. I wanted to ask you like that so everyone would leave you alone” …cute
“Well now we are gonna have the opposite problem. Everyone is gonna be drooling over you. I get it that you wanted to scare off “my” admirers, but where did you get the idea for that?”
“I heard a lot of people like it. I don't know what's cool so I followed what was popular. I heard Chareon call me a “bad bitch” which seems kinda mean but it worked.”
“Yeah you were giving out that vibe. You had a fierce look today”
“Oh I was?”
“Did you not know?”
“No”
“Then why were you giving everyone an intense look”
“I wasn’t. I just had a hard time seeing. I guess I was squinting too much.”.Sun almost wanted to brush out laughing. With how her girlfriend was today, she almost forgot she usually wears glasses.
“No way! You had that look on your face cause you couldn’t see!”
“Yeah I couldn’t even find you this morning. Alpha had to help me, and I didn’t write down any notes for today… So could I look at yours?” Sun burst out laughing, causing her girlfriend to pout. “Stop it! Sun! You’re being mean”
“I’m sorry I’m sorry! But you made such a big show today and now you’re like this. All those admirers.”
“Oh god…”
“I wonder what will happen when people see you like this.”
“Ughhhhhh.”.
“You really didn’t think this through. Did you?”
“I thought about it a little…”
“What parts did you think about?”
“That part where I impressed you”. Sun cooed at this.
“Well you did a very good job there. Now let’s get this off and let me have my normal cute girlfriend back!”. Sun got rid of all of the makeup that Ongsa had and put back her glasses. Ongsa went to the bathroom and changed into her regular school uniform. “There she is” Sun runs up and hugs Ongsa.
“Here I am,” Ongsa says shyly and hugs back.
“Ahh, as much as I’m gonna miss the old look, I think I prefer this look. I really missed my normal cute girlfriend.” Sun said, clinging to Ongsa. "Please stay like this"
"What, plain?"
"No, mine"
