Last night was a great Christmas Eve music had been playing, board games were played a lot of wine had been drunk and Carla’s terrible cooking had been eaten.

It was 10am Christmas Day and Carla opened her eyes to see her girlfriend Lisa Swain with her hand draped over Carla’s stomach and legs intertwined, she placed a gentle kiss to her temple making her stir gently.

They unwound their legs and faced each other and kissed each other tenderly as they were both severely hungover from the night before. Carla slipped out of the bed and went to get two glasses of water and some paracetamol.

“Here take these, do you remember the last time I gave you these you ended up throwing up in my bathroom”.

“ Yeah I remember that you were so confident that you told me not to get dressed and we slept together for the first time”.

“ I was so scared, it was uncharted territory I had no idea what I was doing haha. I have to say it was amazing I am so glad I decided to give it a go. “

They reminisced about their first time for a little while and laughed about it. Carla moved her hands all over Lisa’s body stopping when she reached her breasts and squeezed them between her hands making Lisa moan. “Merry Christmas Bets, yes we are coming now we just need five minutes to get dressed” with that Betsy left the room and they both pulled themselves apart from each other and put on the matching jumpers that they had brought for each other and Lisa wore Carla’s joggers whilst Carla wore a pair of her shorts. They often shared clothes now and liked how each other looked.

They left the bedroom and greeted the teenager and Ryan before putting the kettle on for a cuppa and taking a seat on the sofa.

Ryan gave Carla a picture of her and Lisa looking at each other in the Rovers neither were aware that the photo was taken. Carla thanked her nephew and decided to place it on the fireplace. He then gave Lisa a joke book about coppers and gave Betsy a phone case.

Carla and Lisa gave Betsy a voucher for 7 driving lessons which she was over the moon with as she wanted to learn to drive for ages. They gave Ryan a model motorbike to go with his collection of cars.

Betsy was up next and gave her mum a bracelet ( Carla helped her pay for it) it had the letters B and L on for Betsy and Lisa. Lisa got tears in her eyes and thanked her daughter. Betsy then handed Carla a bag that had a red sparkly jumper in, Carla didn’t really like jumpers but because it was from someone important she knew she had to wear it, she hugged and thanked the teenager.

It was Lisa and Carla’s turn to exchange gifts. Lisa gave Carla several boxes all different sizes. Carla opened the first one and saw a pair of diamond earrings, the second was a pearl necklace and the last box was a bracelet with a stone in and if you looked closely you could see a picture of Aiden in there. Carla got emotional and pulled Lisa into a hug and kissed her softly. “ thank you darling these are all beautiful” . Carla gave Lisa a square shaped box and inside was a pale blue jumper to match her dark blue one, Lisa smiled. Carla then gave her a small box which had a key in. “ I wanted to give you a key to my place as you are here a lot and I know you are comfortable here so it is for you to have whenever you want to visit when I am working” “ aww Carla that is so sweet” they gave each other a hug. Carla gave Lisa one final present which was a pair of diamond earrings also. Lisa thanked her.

They played board games for a few hours and Betsy started complaining as Ryan kept beating her and rubbing her face in it, the older women laughed between them as it was nice to see that the two were getting along and acting like siblings. Carla asked everyone what pizza they wanted and ordered several so that they could snack on them over the next couple of hours.

After they had eaten they decided it was time to watch a movie and the first one they watched was Home Alone, Lisa and Carla were sat together on the couch, Betsy was on a beanbag in front of them and Ryan had the armchair. Next they watched love actually as this was the teenagers favourite movie. By the time the movies ended it was late and Betsy was fast asleep, Lisa woke her up and encouraged her to go to sleep in Bobbys room and Carla asked if Ryan was sleeping on the sofa, he was going to visit his mum Michelle in Ireland on the 27th so he was sofa surfing at Carla’s for a few days. Once Betsy and Ryan were both sorted the two love birds went to the bedroom and cuddled into each other.

“ lees I have to say that was a good Christmas probably the best I have had in a long time. It was great because of you and Betsy making me smile more than I have in a long time I hope we get many more together as I don’t want to let you go”.

“ it was nice Car, the first time me and Bets have been included since Becky and we loved every minute, of course we will have more together as I don’t want to let you go either”.

They kissed each other slowly but tenderly savouring the moment before they turned over and fell asleep holding each other
