A Wedding to Remember
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the village of Ashenvale, Meris and Zeno found themselves seated at their favorite table in the cozy kitchen of Meris’s family home. The scent of freshly baked bread filled the air, mingling with the anticipation that buzzed between them. They were finally ready to plan their wedding—a celebration that would intertwine their lives, colors, and dreams.
“Alright, let’s get started,” Meris said, his mismatched eyes sparkling with excitement. He pulled out a parchment and a quill, ready to jot down their ideas. “What do you think about the colors?”
Zeno, leaning back in his chair, a thoughtful expression crossing his rugged features, replied, “Well, I think orange is a must. It’s vibrant, just like you.” He smiled, his gaze softening.
“And green for me,” Meris added, his heart swelling at Zeno’s words. “It feels alive, like nature. Maybe we could blend the two?”
“Definitely,” Zeno agreed, his deep voice resonating with enthusiasm. “A mix of orange and green would look amazing together. Like a sunset in a forest.”
Meris nodded, scribbling down their color scheme. “And the flowers! I want blue winter roses. They’re so beautiful, and they remind me of home.”
“Blue roses? That’s unique,” Zeno remarked, intrigued. “I like it! They’ll pop against the orange and green.”
“Exactly!” Meris beamed, his excitement infectious. “Imagine the bouquets and centerpieces. We could have blue roses with orange and green accents.”
Zeno leaned forward, his eyes sparkling. “And we should have lanterns—orange and green, hanging from the trees. It’ll feel magical, like a fairy tale.”
“Lanterns! Yes! And we can sprinkle petals along the aisle,” Meris added, his imagination running wild. “Oh, and what about the food? We should include some of your favorite dishes.”
Zeno chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “You know me too well. Maybe a roasted meat platter with some vegetable sides? And we can have a massive cake—orange with green frosting!”
“Perfect!” Meris exclaimed. “And for drinks, we could serve a special punch—something refreshing and fruity, with hints of orange.”
As they continued to brainstorm, the excitement in the room grew, filling it with warmth and love. Meris felt a sense of ease as they collaborated, their personalities weaving seamlessly together.
“Do you want a big wedding or something more intimate?” Zeno asked, his brow furrowing slightly.
“Intimate sounds nice,” Meris replied thoughtfully. “Just family and a few close friends. I want it to feel personal, you know?”
“Agreed,” Zeno nodded. “We can invite your family, of course, and maybe a few of my old comrades. They’d love to celebrate with us.”
Meris’s heart swelled at the thought of their loved ones gathered together, joyfully celebrating their union. “And we can have a dance floor! I want to see you bust a move.”
Zeno laughed, a low rumble that resonated in his chest. “I’ll do my best, but don’t expect anything fancy. Just me trying not to trip over my own feet.”
“Trust me, I’ll teach you,” Meris promised, playfully nudging him. “I can make a dancer out of you yet.”
As the evening wore on, they finalized their plans, laughter echoing through the kitchen. The warmth of the fire crackled softly, casting flickering shadows as they sketched out ideas for the invitations, decorations, and the all-important seating chart.
“Alright,” Meris said, leaning back in his chair, “I think we have a solid plan. We’ll have the wedding in the meadow outside the village, surrounded by nature and our favorite colors.”
Zeno nodded, a content smile on his face. “Sounds perfect. Just the two of us, with the world as our backdrop.”
Meris reached across the table, taking Zeno’s hand in his. “I can’t believe we’re doing this. It feels like a dream.”
“It’s real,” Zeno said, squeezing his hand gently. “And I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else.”
As they sat together, the stars began to twinkle outside, casting a magical glow over Ashenvale. In that moment, they knew their love would blossom like the blue winter roses they adored—beautiful, resilient, and everlasting.
