Chapter 1
Â
I had that idea and it didn't leave me ðŸ¤Â
Â
Lena Luthor was exhausted.
Again.
She had barely slept, barely eaten, and barely looked away from her screen for hours. She knew it was bad but she couldn't escape from her fate of powerful L-Corp CEO.
The stack of reports on her desk had grown alarmingly tall.
The email notifications were never-ending.
The board members had been even more insufferable than usual.
And Kara?
Kara had been watching it all.
With increasing concern.
Because this was bad.
Very Bad.
She hated when her girlfriend was drowning with works and it had impact in her personal life and health.
Lena was at that point where her brain was barely functioning, but she refused to stop working.
And when Lena was in this state?
Things happened.
Weird things.
Embarrassing things.
Very, very embarrassing things but only with Kara.
Fortunately?
Or not?
Like last time when Lena had tried to take a sip of coffee from a stapler.
Or when she had spent an entire phone call speaking fluent French before realizing the person on the other end was very, very confused.
But tonight?
Tonight, Lena was about to outdo herself.
And Kara?
Kara had a front-row seat.
"Lena," Kara sighed, arms crossed. "It’s late. You need to stop working."
"Mmhm." Lena didn’t even look up.
"Lena."
"Mhm."
Kara’s eye twitched.
This woman.
She could be adorable but also so stubborn and annoying!!!
"Lena," she tried again, louder.
"Mm—wait, what?" Lena finally glanced up, blinking like an owl.
Kara sighed, walking over and placing both hands on Lena’s shoulders. "Baby, you need to take a break."
Lena groaned. "Kara, I can’t. I have—"
"Nope."
"But—"
"Nope."
"Kara—"
"Lena."
Lena huffed.
"Just five more minutes," she tried, eyes drooping with exhaustion.
Kara was not having it.
"No. That’s what you said two hours ago."
"That’s not true."
"It is. I have timestamps."
Lena narrowed her eyes. "Did you track me?"
"Yes. Because my girlfriend is an insufferable workaholic who forgets to function like a human. So I had no choice."
Lena rolled her eyes. "Dramatic."
"Yes you are a professional for that. I will give you the award."
Lena huffed.
Kara just stared.
And then—
Then she did the unthinkable.
She closed Lena’s laptop.
Right in front of her.
Lena gasped like she had just been betrayed by her own bloodline.
"Kara!"
"Lena," Kara mimicked. "Bed. Now."
"I’m not a child!"
"Then stop acting like one and listen to me!"
"I am listening!"
"No, you’re arguing. There’s a difference."
Lena huffed, crossing her arms. "You’re bossy tonight."
"Because you won’t take care of yourself," Kara countered, planting her hands on her hips. "And someone has to."
Lena opened her mouth—
And then.
Then it happened.
The words left her lips before she could stop them.
Words that would haunt her forever.
Words that instantly made Kara freeze.
Lena groaned, rubbing her eyes.
And then, in a voice full of pure exhaustion, she muttered:
"Okay, okay, Mommy. I’m going to bed."
Silence.
...
Kara blinked. Did she heard well?Â
She was SuperGirl so of course she did.
And then...there was an horrifying, deafening silence.
Lena’s brain short-circuited.
Her hands froze in mid-air.
Kara’s mouth fell open.
The room stood still.
A single second stretched into eternity.
And then—
Kara burst into laughter.
Lena’s face turned bright red.
"NO—"
But it was too late.
Kara was already doubled over, wheezing.
"Oh my God," Kara gasped. "Did you—did you just call me—"
"NO, I DID NOT—"
"—Mommy?!"
Lena wanted to die.
"I take it back," she said immediately. "That didn’t happen. I was tired, exhausted"
"Oh, it definitely happened," Kara grinned. "And I will never let you forget it."
Lena groaned, covering her face with both hands. "I hate you."
"No, you love me," Kara teased, poking her side. "And apparently, you see me as an authority figure. Should I start calling you ‘baby girl’ now?"
Lena whipped her head up.
"Kara Danvers, if you ever—"
"Too late, baby girl," Kara smirked proud of herself.
Lena let out a strangled noise.
"I will sue you for emotional damages."
"Go ahead," Kara grinned. "But first, bed."
"I—"
"Now," Kara ordered, grabbing her hand.
Lena pouted.
But this time?
This time, she didn’t fight it.
Because as much as she wanted to be embarrassed forever, she was also really, really tired.
And Kara?
Kara was warm.
Safe.
So Lena let herself be led. To her penthouse.
To her bedroom.
And the last thing she heard before she drifted off to sleep into Kara's warm arms—
Was Kara’s mischievous whisper.
"Sweet dreams, baby girl."
Lena groaned into Kara's chest.
Because she would never live this down.
And tomorrow...
It would be so fun.
