Day 5 Tree part 1
“I’m sorry you guys want what?”
You and Wonho looked at Professor Ji-Young with pleading eyes.
“ A tree.” You said looking at him as he sipped his tea as he looked at the both of you. His eyes went over your shoulder to the door where Jungkook and Youngjae were waiting on his response so they could go tell the others.
“ You do know the groundskeeper decorates every year and not to mention the big ass tree that is in the dining hall.”
“ Yeah but we didn’t get to decorate that and since we are stuck here for the holidays it would make sense for us to want to decorate.”
“ And the tree in the dining hall isn’t festive enough and we want to kids liven it up a little bit.”
He looked at the two standing in front of him and sighed. He set his tea down next to the book he was reading as he looked at the both of you.
“ How about a compromise, hmm, You guys can decorate as long as you DO NOT go overbroad and leave a bigger mess for groundskeepers when they come back from break you can make decorations or buy them either way. I don’t care as long as you all and I do mean all of you do not break, set fire, or hex or curse anything or anyone, and yes I mean you Mr. Jeon because of your prank on Mr. Chae that turned his skin green for three weeks.”
You heard Jungkook snicker after hearing that. You remembered that Hyungwon chased half the Gryffindor house around the school plus Wonho and Minhyuk because of that prank. You smiled at professor Ji-Young as you nodded your head as you grabbed Wonho by his sweater sleeve and slowly moved towards the door.
“ Thank You, Professor.”
“ Miss Y/N.”
You paused trying to push Wonho out the door before he changed his mind. You looked up at him as he picked his book back up from the table.
“ Yes Sir?”
“ I trust that you, Kihyun, Yoongi, Jin, and Jaebum would keep the others in line I mean it I don’t want any funny business out the troubled crew. “
“ Umm excuse me, Mr. Ji.”
He shoot Wonho a look over the edge of his book as he looked at him.
“ I mean Professor Ji-Young since it's only the holidays are they still responsible for all of us?”
“ When they accepted the duties as prefects that means as long as there are students on this campus apart of the respected houses they so pose to do their jobs.”
He said as he snapped his book closed as he looked at Wonho. With a look that dared him to argue with him.
“ As you both know I do not like repeating myself so listen closely Mr. Lee if I even sense a little of foul play or funny business from. Your group you will be cleaning the school grounds for the remainder of the holiday break do you understand me.”
“ Loud and clear professor.” He said giving him a nervous smile as you guys walked out the door of the professor’s wing of the school.
Once outside with Youngjae and Jungkook. You let go of a breathe you didn’t know you were holding.
“ I don’t care what anyone says that man is nightmare fuel.”
You rolled your eyes at Wonho for being dramatic. You smiled as you remembered how professor Ji-Young helped you yesterday.
“ He’s not that bad.” You said as you started walking back towards the dining hall that was slowly turning into your group's hangout. The guys followed you saying how most of the female students didn’t have a problem with Professor Ji-Young because they thought he was attractive.
You walked in to see Taehyung taking a nap on one of the tables with Wooyoung, San, BamBam, and Jackson around another table watching Yugyome and Mark play one of the games they managed to set for gaming.
Jin looked over at you guys walking in the dining hall.
“ So what’s the verdict did the guard dragon say no?” Hyungwon said as he looked up from where he was laying on one of the benches with his phone in his hand.
“ He said we could as long as we don’t make a mess for the ground keepers to clean up when they come back to clean the school for the new semester.”
“ But we got strict rules no pranks, no braking anything or starting fires.” You named them off-putting up a finger for each of the rules that Professor Ji-Young told you and Wonho.
“ And he said if we break said rules that he repeated three or two times that we will be cleaning the school grounds for the rest of the holiday break,” Wonho said looking at the group.
“ And He said Y/N, Jin, Yoongi, Kihyun, and Jaebum are in charge.”
“ I’m sorry fuckin what?” Jin said looking at the four of you.
“ Yeah, he said since you guys are prefects then you are basically in charge,” Jungkook told them walking over to a sleeping Taehyung.
“ But Y/N not a perfect,” Kihyun said looking at the others confused.
“ It’s because she’s his favorite,” Youngjae said walking over towards Mark and Yugyome.
The game paused and everyone turned and looked at you with questions in their eyes. Hyungwon got up from the bench as he walked around you looking at you. You rolled your eyes as you folded your arms looking at them.
“ He said we can use any decorations that we find or make as long as we follow the rules then were good.”
You said trying to play it off like it was nothing and ignoring the question they all wanted to ask that you didn’t feel like answering.
“ Sounds good enough so where are the other decorations and we can go and get a tree,” Jhope said looking at everyone.
“ We can use the bog tree,” Wonho said walking towards the giant tree in front of the dining hall walking around it.
“ So what are we doing for decorations.” You asked sitting on the table in front of the tree watching Wonho walk around the tree.
“ We should make it a Hufflepuff tree.” He said looking at the group with a smile.
“ Umm, No I think the fuck not if this tree is going to be anything it's going to be a Slytherin tree,” Hyungwon said walking towards the tree.
“ It Should be a Ravenclaw tree,” Wooyoung said looking over at the two of them.
“ Sorry boys but it’s Gryffindor for the win,” Jungkook said high-fiving Jackson as the rest of Gryffindors cheered about this decision. You heard a thumping noise from behind you. You looked over your shoulder to see Jin rubbing his eyes with a tried face, Kihyun just held the bridge of his nose his book long forgotten. Yoongi just deeply sighs while Jaebum hits his head on the table.
You looked at the prefects concerned as all four of them just looked done with life and ready for a long nap. You know understand why Professor Ji-Young also said you were in charge also. You sighed as hung your head down as they all started to crowd around the tree arguing about what the tree should be. You stood up on the table holding your hands up in a time-out sign.
“ Hey, guys.” You said as you tried to get their attention but they couldn’t hear you over there arguing. You breathed deep as you held your hand up and whistled to get their attention. They looked over at you standing on the table while their respective prefects looked done with life.
“ I have an idea lets just do our favorite colors from our respective house and combine them and well hold a game on which house gets to put the star on top of the tree .” You said holding your hands behind your back as you smiled at them feeling good about your idea.
“ Hufflepuff.”
“ Ravenclaw.”
“ Gryffindor.”
“ Slytherin or nothing.”
You felt a headache coming on as you listened to them starting to fight again as all your words went through one ear and out the other.
“ Okay!” You flinched when you heard Kihyun yell from behind you. You heard the rest of the prefects stand up with him. Looking at the group around the tree.
“ Lion Brats we have to find anything red for the tree,” Jaebum said as he stood up most of the Gryffindor’s started to complain until Shownu stood next to him with his arms crossed looking at them.
“ Okay Okay, I guess well do red” Jackson said as walked over to the table and sat down.
“ Ravenclaw were doing frost blue,” Yoongi said looking at them daring them to argue.
“ Slytherin has green,” Kihyun said as he looked at Hyungwon.
“ Hufflepuff will do yellow,” Jin said as stood up stretching.
You looked back at them grateful for agreeing with your idea. Sat down on the table relieved they walked by you towards their respective houses.
“ We’re going to need a star for the tree mind helping us out Y/N,” Kihyun said looking at you with a small smile.
You nodded your head as you started thinking of ideas of how to make the star.
“ Now if you're all done we have a tree and dining hall to decorate,” Yoongi said as he started walking towards the door of the dining hall with most of the Ravenclaw boys following him. You sat back down on the table and watched them all walk out the hall group by group. You stretch your arms up above your head before laying back on the table looking up at the magic snowflakes falling around the dining hall.
This was going to be a tree for the books that was for sure but it was also going to be beautiful in its way
