Prologue – That the vicious cycle is over
“Would you want to live again, with all your memories and knowledge intact for your next life?” Many voices asked as one, heard from every direction to the point he heard it in his head and in his chest.
He stayed silent, mulling over the option for a while. He knows he died, thankfully just from Covid-19, but it had been hell to die alone and cold and deemed infectious and unable to say goodbye to his family. It was... devastating.
“If I would be reborn again, I would like to be a male this time, please? Oh, and preferably in KHR. That’s all I want and I’ll do what you want, thank you.” He replied politely, afraid to not be polite in case the deity deletes him out of existence. He’s excited suddenly as he felt a rush of acceptance, his surroundings beginning to glow orange. As soft as the sunset, as sweet and sour as the fruit. Seems like his penis envy from Freud will be fulfilled but he won’t forget how hard it is for the women in his previous life and vows to help them as much as he can.
“You’ll be my magnum opus, save the world, again and again as long as you can.” They said before everything turned white.
The original soul of Yamamoto Takeshi died at just the mere age of 4 years old, there was a kidnapping gone wrong which cost his mother’s life to the point the Vongola had to be involved as it concerned the line of the Vongola Primo. The child died from blood loss due to a knife that grazed his heart, luckily for Aldrin he has divine intervention on his side but it’s not nice to wake up from an electric shock in his poor boy’s body.
Unknowingly to him, the flame active adults felt his strong resolve to live as a baby Sky. Timoteo wants to seal him for his own safety but his father raised Shigure Kintoki against the old boss, citing why it will do more harm than good for his son. Surprisingly, Iemitsu backed Tsuyoshi up and the Nono let them have their way.
Aldrin spent most of the time sleeping and dreaming of the former soul’s memories left in his little body. Like the love for baseball because it’s what brings them together as a family, cooking together during dinners, planning a trip to the shelter to adopt a pet that they were supposed to go to the day of the kidnapping, his love for milk and sushi, his obsession with the color blue, and how he plays with Tsuna, Kyoko, Ryohei, and surprisingly Hibari at Namimori Kindergarten.
When he comes to, when his injuries are mostly healed, he remembers his new father telling him calmly that his new mother is gone. He cried for her, the love for her that remained in his body overflows with nowhere to go and he just clings on to his neck as he’s enveloped in a warm hug.
The doctor’s say he healed in just 3 days which is a miracle in itself, enough to warrant him only a week stay with a waiver signed because he wants to go to his mother’s funeral. The same morning, he went out of the hospital is the day she’ll be buried a few hours after. He paid his respects and send her off peacefully, lowkey noting the extra security and many people coming to pay their respects.
Thankfully his friends are there, Tsuna hugged him tightly as he cried with Kyoko, Ryohei tries to cheer them up while Kyoya keeps the adults at bay, only letting his own parents, Nana and Tsuyoshi come through.
“Takeshi, my son, I need you to breathe for me. The doctor said you have a weaker heart than the average people right now, it will heal with time but you have to slow it down for me, okay? I can’t lose you too.” Tsuyoshi softly stated as he hugged his son after the burial. His friends heard it and so Tsuna asked Nana to give him ice cream while Kyoko asked for cake flavored candy.
“Here Tak-kun, ice cream helps me to calm down.” Tsuna said as he handed Takeshi the ice cream, Kyoko handed him the candy for later.
“Thank you, everyone.” He replied then he ate the ice cream and he calmed down. Aldrin can’t help but feel guilt knowing Tsuna won’t have a choice as Vongola Decimo and he resolves to be the best Rain Guardian for him, he would never let Tsuna be sealed or at least try breaking it. And starting from now on they’ll be friends, whatever the others say. He can reconnect with Kyoya, Ryohei and Kyoko but he resolves to be always there for his Sky.
Somewhere, watching over them from the sky, the deity chuckles in amusement as their transmigrator doesn’t know what’s in store for them until at much later years.
He was 7 when he tried calling forth his flames, he’s surprised it’s the orange sky flames and not the blue of the rain flames. It makes a lot of sense now, why when Tsuna promised to be by his side forever his eyes turned blue, why Kyoya look at him from afar with purple eyes, why despite Kyoko lingered around it’s Ryohei seeking him and Tsuna out to be a big brother to them with eyes shining yellow. He had, unknowingly, harmonized with them as his elements.
And now he’s a Sky...
He really should’ve questioned the orange light before he woke up in pain the first time he’s here.
“Ne, tou-san. Can you have flames in your hands like whoosh? Are they orange like mine?” he asks excitedly the moment they sat down for dinner. Knowing it’s a conversation he needs to do.
Tsuyoshi gaped at him like a fish the first few moments so he whooshed his hand and cupped a brilliant orange flame to elaborate. When his dad saw it, he looked resigned and ignited his rain flames.
“I knew it! Tou-san’s the best! You have my favorite color.” He said in awe, unafraid in clasping Tsuyoshi’s hand and feeling the tranquility of the flame wash over him.
“There are different colors Takeshi. Yours and your maman’s is the Sky flame and it’s orange, mine is the Rain flame and it’s your favorite color.” Tsuyoshi said fondly with a trace of sadness.
“I’ll never leave you, I’ll do my hardest to live for you.” He promised his dad, his eyes all orange in his resolve.
“And I’ll always be here for you. No matter how hard it gets from now on.” His father replied, eyes all blue.
“Silly tou-san, why would it be hard? I have you and Tsuna and Kyoya and Ryohei and Kyoko and even Hana and Nana-san!” He giggled, coming around the table to hug his dad. He’s a pretty affectionate kid and Tsuyoshi spoils him rotten in affection, and it builds up the guilt that Aldrin shouldn’t be here so he hugged his father tightly.
“That’s right, I’m here. We’re here for you. But I can’t protect you forever, as much as I want to.” Tsuyoshi hugged him just as tightly.
“Tou-san... there’s something you have to know.” He started once he pulled away a bit.
“I know. Whoever are you, you’re still my son. And I love you and my little Takeshi so much.” Tsuyoshi said with a kind smile and he looked at him in shock.
“How?”
“The former soul had Rain flames. I... felt my Sky and my little Rain die. The moment you have Sky flames to fight for your life, I knew. But I’m just so happy my son is still alive. I’ve also kept your drawings and the little notes you have, it depicts an alternate timeline, right? Where you’re the Rain and not the Sky.” Tsuyoshi stated, kissing his forehead and rubbing his back in comfort. Takeshi nodded, crying a bit at being seen and hugging Tsuyoshi again in gratefulness.
“Thank you, tou-san. Thank you.” He whimpered as Tsuyoshi wiped away his tears.
“I got to be honest. I don’t like you being Vongola Decimo anytime soon, 7 years from now according to your notes. But... if it will save the multiverse from this Byakuran, then I’ll help you as long as I can.” Tsuyoshi promised.
“Run me through your katas, let me earn Shigure Kintoki and Shigure Soen Ryu. Teach me how to fight and protect. But please promise me not to go back in the mafia even if I am in it, you earned the civilian life tou-san, I don’t want it taken from you.” Takeshi replied determinedly. There’s a silence where both father and son stared at each other.
“Then you better eat now Takeshi before the food grows cold and we’ll start tomorrow afternoon.” His father sighed, ruffling his hair. He obeyed and they have a good dinner together.
