Episode 1: The Silent Guardian

The soft patter of rain against the window filled the small, dimly lit room. Alastor, a girl of sixteen with auburn curls and wide, curious eyes, sat curled up on her bed, staring out at the gray skies. Her knees hugged tightly to her chest, and her lips moved as she whispered into the still air.

“I hope you enjoyed our walk today,” she murmured softly, her voice trembling. “I… I know I’m not very interesting, but I like having someone to talk to. Even if it’s just you.”

In the far corner of the room, Adam stood silently, invisible to Alastor’s mortal eyes. Her heart ached at the sight of the lonely girl. Sent by Heaven as her guardian, Adam was not used to this; she was a leader of the exorcists, punished for overstepping her duties. She only had to watch the human to protect her from a distance. But something about Alastor had always been different. There was a quiet strength in her, a determination to hold on even when the world seemed to conspire against her.

Alastor’s life had been a series of small tragedies: neglectful parents who barely noticed her, cruel classmates who mocked her, and a house that felt less like a home and more like a cage. Yet, through it all, Alastor spoke to the air as if she knew someone was there.

Adam had watched her grow from a wide-eyed child into this fragile yet resilient teen. And with each passing year, Adam found herself breaking the rules, stepping closer, lingering longer. She wasn’t supposed to feel this way, but Alastor’s whispers, her hope, and her unwavering belief in an unseen friend had planted something in Adam’s heart.

On this rainy evening, Adam dared to move closer. Her hand hovered just above Alastor’s trembling shoulder. With a deep breath, she pressed her palm down gently, allowing the faintest touch to pass between them.

Alastor froze, her breath catching. Slowly, she turned her head, her watery eyes filled with wonder. “Thank you,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “I don’t know if you’re real, but thank you for being here.”

Adam’s heart shattered and mended all at once. She longed to reveal herself, to tell Alastor she wasn’t imagining things. But it wasn’t time. Not yet.

Episode 2: Whispered Promises

Years passed, and Alastor blossomed into a young woman. Though life had thrown its share of hardships her way, she had found small joys—books, music, and a few friends who saw past her quirks. Yet, even as she built a life for herself, she never stopped talking to her invisible companion.

Adam remained by her side, unseen but ever-watchful. Her feelings for Alastor had deepened over the years, transforming from duty into something far more complicated. Sera’s warnings about emotional attachment echoed in her mind, but Adam couldn’t bring herself to leave. Alastor had become her everything.

One evening, as Alastor sat by the window, humming a tune from her childhood, she spoke to the air again. “Do you think I’ll ever find someone who really understands me?” she asked. “Sometimes I feel like you’re the only one who does. Are you the only one who will ever love me?”

Adam wanted so badly to answer, to tell Alastor that she wasn’t alone. But angels weren’t meant to interfere with mortal lives in such ways. So instead, she remained silent, offering her silent love as her only answer.

Episode 3: When Hearts Break

By the time Alastor reached her mid-twenties, she had experienced her first love and her first heartbreak. A charming boy had swept her off her feet, only to shatter her trust with lies and betrayal. Alastor returned home one night, her tears soaking the pillow as she curled into herself.

Adam watched, her anger simmering just below the surface. For the first time, she did something she had never done before: she called Lucifer.

“I have a proposition,” Adam said.

Lucifer, glaring at the first woman, chuckled darkly. “This has to be good if you’re seeking me out. So, what is it, Adam?”

Adam struck a deal: the boy would face his consequences in due time, and in exchange, Adam would call off all exterminations for 200 years. This was a price she was willing to pay. For Alastor, she would do anything.

Lucifer laughed and slapped Adam’s back. He whispered into her ear, “Welcome to the club. I’ll keep this between us. Just don’t go breaking too many rules.” With a wave, Lucifer disappeared.

Episode 4: A Love That Defies Heaven

The years were not kind to Alastor. By her early thirties, she was confined to a hospital bed, her once-vibrant face pale and gaunt. The illness had come swiftly, leaving her little time to prepare. Yet, even in her weakest moments, Alastor continued to speak to her unseen companion.

“You’re still here, aren’t you?” she asked one evening, her voice weak but filled with warmth. “I can’t see you, but I know you’re there. You’ve always been there. I… I loved you.” Alastor started coughing up blood, tears streaming down her cheeks as pain racked her body.

Adam stood by her bedside, her heart breaking into pieces. She had done everything to protect Alastor, the woman she loved, but this was a battle she couldn’t win. As Alastor’s breathing grew shallower, Adam made a choice. Rules be damned.

She reached out and touched Alastor’s hand, letting her presence fully manifest. Alastor’s eyes widened, tears spilling down her cheeks as she gazed at Adam for the first time.

“You… you’re real,” she whispered, her voice hoarse and trembling.

Adam nodded, her own tears falling freely. “I’ve always been here, Alastor. I… I love you too.”

Adam leans down and places a soft kiss on her lips. Alastor smiled before she closed her eyes.

Episode 5: Bound Beyond Death

When Alastor’s final breath left her body, her soul rose from the bed, radiant and whole. She turned to Adam, her expression a mixture of awe and joy.

“I feel… free,” Alastor said softly. “But I’m… I’m dead, aren’t I?”

Adam stepped forward, cupping Alastor’s face with gentle hands. “Yes. But this is not the end. This is the beginning.”

A shimmering portal opened behind them, golden light spilling into the room. Alastor stared in awe, her heart swelling with an unfamiliar sense of peace.

“Heaven?” she asked.

Adam smiled, taking her hand. “Heaven. Together, forever.”

As they stepped through the portal, Alastor looked up at Adam, her heart full for the first time. “I’m so happy to finally see you.”

Adam’s smile was soft, and her eyes shone with love. “And I’ll never leave your side, Alastor. I promise.”

Hand in hand, they disappeared into the light, their souls entwined for eternity.
