Fear (slight hurt/comfort, fluff)

Elphaba was brave, she was tough, she was impassive, people have called her arrogant, cold and all green related topics, she tried to never let it get to her. But one thing, she couldn't even hide it, it made her sweat her eyes were always filled with fear all thanks to the 8 legged monster on her side of the dorm. So Elphaba did the only thing that seemed safe knock everything off Galinda's vanity not caring about damaging it then sitting up on it, legs drawn to her chest, keeping her eyes on the creature. She heard the door unlock, she looked up at the loud gasp.

"See?! I'm not the only one!" Elphaba watched Galinda flinch when shouted, she just assumed she freaked about the spider but she was proven wrong.

"What the fuck Elphaba! We have an unspoken agreement, I don't touch your books, you don't touch my make-up! Why in the name of Oz are you sitting on MY vanity??" Elphaba gave an unusual sheepish smile, but she could see that her roomate was pissed. Raising her hands in defence "It's not my fault" was all the response Galinda got.

"Not your fault...oh my Oz...Thropp get off my table" Elphaba shook her head, adamant that she was not moving, she was safe where she was, that was until a small tug on her hand made her shriek.

"Oz help me Elphaba I will pull you off, get off my stuff, and clean it up"

"No"

"No?! Come on Elphie! Why not? I'm sick of fighting with you and I'm tired, just go to bed please" Ok so maybe she started to feel bad and now looking at the girl, Elphaba could see she was tired. And the mask was slipping, Galinda might not realise it, but Elphaba knows its all an act.

"I'm not going to bed and did you call me Elphie?" She watched in amusement as a the blonde lit up with a blush. The amusement only lasted so long, before she saw the dreadful creature, glaring at it.

"What are you glaring at? You're the one on my thing....Elphaba!"

"Get off the floor Galinda, its coming for us" Well this was new. Galinda had never seen Elphaba like this...looking scared.

"What is it?" She asked concerned, she placed a hand on green skin, admitting to herself that her skin really was soft. Shaking her head ridding herself of that thought.

Elphaba didn't remove her eyes from the creature, still she was startled when it moved towards her, she jumped feeling herself start to fall she resigned herself to her fate 'Here lies Elphaba Thropp death by a monster' only she didn't fall, strong arms caught her, she didn't think twice when she wrapped her legs around a thin waist.

"Ooff..Elphaba are you alright?" Galinda couldn't hold her for too long so she quickly sat the girl on her bed. "What's wrong?" Elphaba couldn't speak so she just pointed. She watched with a bated breath, as Galinda turned towards the direction, standing still the older girl was caught off guard when the blonde stared at her in disbelief.

"A spider?...all this, for a spider? Elphaba you broke my shit, my expensive good stuff" Frustration was evident but her voice had an undertone of amusement.

"It's not just a spider Galinda it's a horrible creature! It could kill me, it will kill me" at the panicked look in her roomates eyes Galinda softened.

"You're scared of spiders? Okay" Elphaba watched the blonde confused, when she grabbed a heel just as she was about to wack it

"DON'T KILL IT" she screamed, Galinda looked up at the girl in shock.

"Well what do you want me to do?" Hands on her hips she waited for Elphaba's response.

"Relocate it...outside far from me"

"Elp..."

"Please?" Galinda's eyes grew wide, she had never heard 'please' from her before especially asking for something, especially from Galinda. The blonde looked at her, she saw that fear was still evident, and she found herself wanting to play hero, so she just nodded, grabbing a glass and a piece of paper, she got the little guy up and left the dorm. Walking down the hall and out, she was confused, when did she ever do something for someone else without bragging? And for her roomate of all people? She watched as the spider crawled away she shivered a little, they really were creepy, she sighed. "Damn Oz Elphaba" she groaned to herself. She realised she's soft for the green girl. Maybe Elphaba can stop being so defensive all the time. With another sigh, she headed back to their dorm, walking in she did a quick scan of the floor making sure there were no spiders, before her eyes settled on her roomate still sat on her bed, playing with her hands.

"The relocation of the animal, has been completed, the mission is successful, in regards to awards hero Galinda Upland asks that victim Elphaba Thropp never damages her things again, next time in grave danger, just get on the bed." She announced, applauding herself for her heroics "oh no need for thanks I'm just glad I could help" she continued praising herself, in front of an imaginary audience, stopping when Elphaba let out a quiet laugh. She smiled fondly down at the girl, "You okay?"

"Yeah, but uh you wouldn't mind not telling anyone about this right?"

"What? That your afraid of spiders? Oh no my dear, I'm telling everyone" clearly joking, laughing loud at the smack on her arm. Clutching her arm feigning agony "After I just risked my life for you? How could you?" Elphaba was not amused. "Elphaba I am kidding, I'm not going to tell anyone. I understand that I can be.. uh.. a bit of an asshole, I suppose. I'm not going to tell anyone I promise" Galinda held her pinky out for Elphaba who only looked at her in confusion "It's a pinky promise, we intertwine our pinkies make the promise and if someone breaks it they lose their pinky." Galinda laughed at the pure horror on the girls face "I'm kidding... kind of" punctuated with a wink.

The two were winding down, settling into their own beds quietly, Galinda's eyes had just slipped shut when "At least we didn't panic" she sat up quickly at the audacity of Elphaba's comment.

Over the years, no-one knew that it was Elphaba who was scared of spiders they thought it was G(a)linda until one dinner party had them switched up.

"Hey Fiyero, Boq will you two ever go on a date?" Both men blushed at Nessa's question, making them all laugh. Fiyero quick to recover.

"When will those two decide to get married?" He asked loudly gesturing to the two women, hoping to embarrass them, but he should've known better.

Galinda in all her glory smirked pulling Elphaba's hand up onto the table and on her hand was a shiny ring, "Funny you say that Fi." The group shot up, celebrating loudly for the now engaged couple. Question were sent left and right, overwhelming Elphaba.

"I'm just going to grab a drink, anyone else?" The blonde squeezing her hand understanding her need a short breather. As much as their friends can be overwhelming, Elphaba couldn't stop the happy smile, knowing she's finally got a family that her green skin and all. Looking up her smile dropped.

"GALINDA!!" The blonde came rushing in, paper and glass already in hand, moving her finance onto the counter. Picking it up and taking it outside ignoring all their friends, she walked back in, washing her hands before turning to her love.

"Relocation has been confirmed. Mission successful. Do I get my kiss now?" A fond cheeky grin on Glinda's face softened at the quiet thank you from her future wife.

"ELPHABA IS SCARED OF THE SPIDERRRSS???" Both sighed as they heard Fiyero screamed out.
