"Shut up Yero, please" a whining voice came from next to him.

"G you seriously need to get your shit together, you're a mess, Elphaba is your best friend" Fiyero was not annoyed at his friend, just amused. Galinda has been pining over her roomate for the past year, and the prince happened to be the one she confided in, she was regretting that now.

"It's Elphie, you cannot just go up to a girl like that and be 'Hi, so I'm like completely in love with you, want to get dinner?' No you don't" the blonde is what Fiyero would describe as a 'Fumbling gay mess' this girl was ridiculous at this point.

"Galinda, I love you, but you are living up to the term of an 'idiotic blonde'" he was interrupted by an offended "Hey!"
"She's in love with you too, you just don't see it, stop being, well, this. It is not the end of the world if she didn't feel the same way. She's not someone who would make you feel bad or awkward, but trust me she loves you" he watched as Galinda took his words in. He knew she struggled with vulnerability, with feelings like this. He's watched over the past year, the blonde fall deeper for her best friend. How her eyes lingered when she walked away, how she'd focus completely on Elphaba when she was speaking. He knew that those feeling were reciprocated.

"Look...how about tomorrow, we set up an intimate date-like experience in her favourite spot in the forest. I will help you. You can say it's for the group but everyone cancelled and then charm your way into a confession, I know you can" he loved both the girls and just wanted them to finally get their shit together.

Galinda mulled over his words. "Are you sure? Please tell me you're sure, Fiyero I really don't want to screw this up and I can't afford to lose her, even if it's her friendship." Her voice was barely above a whisper, he had never seen the girl so scared.

Taking her hand, he gently smiled "I'm sure Linda". With that she nodded.

"Well then, time to plan..." she was going to continue but was interrupted.

"Galinda Upland! Please tell me, you are not skipping class" the blonde winced as her best friend scolded her. Swivelling around, she put her most charming smile and caught Elphaba's hand in hers.

"Who me? Skip class? I would never"

Fiyero chuckled as he watched the two continue to bicker (flirt). It was clear, that the shorter of the two spoke with exasperation but he could see the fondness in her eyes. All three, were interrupted by the bell, third period was about to start.

"You better be in class, both of you. I will not help with homework" Elphaba scolded but it wasn't very convincing as her voice wavered, when Galinda looped her arms through hers and led them to class.

During class he and Galinda passed notes, planning the date with various ideas. The blonde will get ready at his dorm, under the guise of homework, not their best idea but it's the best they got. They both had a free last period, so when Elphaba went to class they went to the forest. Setting up a table, dressing it up, candles placed around the flooring where they will some sheet or something also unclear to them. Whilst Galinda went to pick Elphaba up, Fiyero would bring the food and drinks as well as light the candles.

The next day

"I hope this works Fiyero, she's never been on a date before." She was pacing his room as he got the food ready. She was dressed in a casual but beautiful pink sundress, and of course heels just not as high.

"It will G, and you are going to charm her pants off or skirt or dress depending on what she wears." He laughed when his friend flushed brightly.

"I don't want to...I mean...Ugh Fi, you're such a guy" Galinda cried.

Laughing again "Hey I have to get my jokes in, and it was hilarious to see you're reaction. Now time is up, so go pick up your girl." Galinda paled slightly, as she went to leave, he called out "Girl please, you forgot the poppies" laughing again at the quite "shit" that came from his best friend.

Galinda paced in the front of their dorm room, straightening her dress again, mumbling the plan again to herself. Breathing deeply she knocked, nerves bubbled inside her when she heard footsteps.

"What...Galinda, did you forget your key again?" Elphaba said amused before catching sight of the poppies in the blondes hand. Galinda watched, and winced when she shoved the flowers in other girls hands.

"Umm...all the rest of the group cancelled, so it's just us, and I saw these poppies and I know you love poppies so I just picked them up y'know, if you don't...." Galind was interrupted by a sweet smile on the normally smirking girl.

"Of course I still want to, let me just put these in the vase we have and we can go"

Galinda's eyes lingered, tracing her roomates body admiring the black dress, that flared slightly at the bottom. It suited the green girl. She felt her cheek heat up when her eyes met her smirking roomate.

"You look...nice, let's go." Words had never rushed out of her mouth so quickly.

Elphaba took her outreached hand, letting the blonde guide her. Galinda knew her palms were sweating as they walked through the forest.

"I didn't know were coming here, it's lovely" Elphaba spoke, Galinda head the joy and excitement in her voice. They kept walking, before stumbling up on a sight even Galinda found herself breathless, 'Fiyero did amazing' she thought.

"Oh my Oz, this is stunning, Galinda. Did someone come and remove the other tables when the others cancelled?" Elphaba spoke completely oblivious.

"Um no. Confession time. Fiyero helped, I just thought with how stressed you have been, and Oz knows you've been working ridiculously hard, I wanted to give you a break, so here we are." Mentally face-palming, while it was true that her friend had been stressed, it wasn't the reason for this.

Once they both sat down, conversation was never dying, they never ran out of things to talk about. They spoke from small serious topics to silly rumours that were spread around Shiz.

Gasping for breath from laughter, Galinda watched on her fondly, completely immersed in the beauty that was Elphaba. She was beautiful, all the time, and Galinda made sure she knew it, but tonight? With the candles? She had never seen anything like her Elphie, tonight. She was radiant.

"Tell me a secret" The blonde asked smiling as Elphaba's lips twitched upwards remembering the first night they became friends.

"Well Miss Upland, my secret is..." Galinda's heart jumped when the dark-haired girl's voice lowered, and she had leant in closer "...I once set fire to my Father's important work files." Galinda's eyes widened. 'Well that went a completely different way than what she thought' the blonde pouted in disappointment, before laughing imagining young Elphie setting a fire without an idea of how her magic worked.

"That's insane Elphie, but also impressive, I applaud that secret."

"Your turn...what's your secret?" Galinda felt like she was going to be sick. This was her chance. And she finally was ready.

"Well...I have a few secrets, tonight for starters, it was always going to be just us. Fiyero helped me set this up." Elphaba's eyebrows raised. Galinda smiled, she taught her that. "I've been so scared, so insecure, so lost. Because when it comes to you, I worry that you will remember how horrible of a person I was to you, freshman year...let me finish Elphie otherwise I will never get this out" when she saw that girl was going to interrupt. "When I said you were beautiful for the first time, in the mirror I meant it. I've meant it, everyday since. You have this way of making me weak. My legs shake, my hands sweat and my heart races it took me awhile to understand what the feeling was. Fiyero was the person I told and for the past year, he's listened to me whine and literally rant about how amazing I find you. I'm enraptured by you, everything of me centre's around you." Elphaba was crying, so Galinda stood up finally making her way over to her before kneeling and wiping her tears away. "I'm in love with you Elphaba Thropp, and nothing will ever change that"

She was silently crying, as the now emotional girl on the seat in front of her stayed quiet. She was about to stand up when a green hand tugged her back down.

"You really mean that?" The low voiced laced with insecurity shattered the blond's heart. She squeezed her hands tightly.

"I do Elphie, I mean it, it's the most honest I've ever be..." she was cut off by a firm kiss. She felt Elphaba's hands on her cheeks, she quickly wrapped her arms her the girls neck, both smiling widely, unable to share the kiss longer.

Elphaba finally stood up pulling Galinda up with her. "I love you too Galinda Upland of the Upper Uplands" the blonde rolled her eyes at the last part before leaning in for another kiss.

"Did you enjoy your first date?" She whispered against green lips, grinning widely when she felt her nod.

Hearing a whole lot of clapping, they pulled away confused. There, stood Fiyero, Nessa and Boq all grinning. "About fucking time blondie, these woods are cold" Fiyero called out smugly. She flipped him off before surprising Elphaba with another soft kiss.

Laughing when Elphaba spoke, "since you all eavesdropped you can clean this all up" they both giggled when they heard protests, as they walked away excited for their future.
