The Sixth Sense
Red felt increasingly troubled by the strange sensations that had been running through her these past few days. She felt and anticipated Chloe's emotions and needs inexplicably, and it left her confused and disoriented. She had never heard of such things and did not understand what was happening to her.
The first incident occurred in the morning, while Red was still in her bed, half asleep. She suddenly felt a wave of anxiety that was not her own. She sat up, her brow furrowed, and saw Chloe desperately searching for something in the room.
"Chloe, are you okay?" Red asked, approaching quietly.
Chloe looked up, surprised to see her standing. "Oh, Red, sorry to have woken you. I can't find my bracelet. The one you gave me, you know? It means a lot to me, and I'm sure I put it here somewhere. »
Red, sensing her friend's distress, immediately began searching with her. Within minutes, she found the bracelet stuck under the bedpost. "Here it is," she said, handing it to Chloe.
Chloe took the bracelet gratefully, tears in her eyes. "Thank you, Red. You're amazing."
The second incident occurred later that day, during a fencing class. Red, who was watching Chloe but not participating in the training, suddenly felt a dull pain in her wrist. Concerned, she rushed to the training ground and saw Chloe fall and hold her wrist.
"Chloe!" Red shouted, running towards her. "Are you okay?"
Chloe winced in pain. "I think I sprained my wrist."
Red helped Chloe up and accompanied her to the infirmary. Throughout the ride, she felt Chloe's pain as if it were her own, and it disturbed her deeply.
The third incident took place in the refectory, during lunch. Red, sitting with her friends, suddenly felt an inexplicable sadness. She looked up and saw Chloe sitting alone at another table, her eyes lost in thought. Chloe almost never isolated herself. She was sure that something was wrong.
Red immediately got up and went to sit next to Chloe. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked gently.
Chloe, surprised but touched by Red's attention, nodded. "Yeah, I was just thinking about my family. I miss them sometimes."
Red placed a comforting hand on Chloe's. "I understand. You're not alone here, you know."
The fourth incident took place in the library. Red was studying quietly when she felt a sudden wave of frustration. She stood up, following her instincts, and found Chloe struggling with a pile of books and notes.
"Chloe, do you need help?" Red asked.
Chloe sighed, acknowledging Red's calming presence. "Yeah, I can't seem to find that damn book on chemical reactions."
Red smiled and found the book in question in a matter of seconds. "Here it is. Breathe, Chloe."
The fifth incident occurred while they were in their room. Red, sensing growing concern, turned to Chloe and saw her staring at her phone with an annoyed expression.
"What's wrong?" Red asked.
Chloe sighed. "Just some stressful news from my family. Nothing serious, but it worries me."
Red came closer and gently squeezed Chloe's shoulder. "It'll be okay. I'm here if you need to talk."
Chloe, increasingly touched by Red's ability to anticipate her needs, wondered how she did it. "Red, how do you always know what I need?" »
Red, equally confused, shrugged. "I don't know, Chloe. It's like I can feel what you're feeling."
Determined to figure out what was happening to her, Red went to the library to do some research. She looked for books on Wonderland and eventually found a book about a mysterious sixth sense. She read the following passage carefully:
The Sixth Sense of the Children of Wonderland
It is said that some children of Wonderland have a sixth sense that allows them to feel and anticipate the emotions and needs of those they love deeply. This gift, often unknown even to those who are endowed with it, manifests itself particularly in the presence of strong feelings like love, and is often revealing of a soul mate.
Red felt her heart accelerate as she read. She then understood that this sixth sense was the reason why she could feel Chloe's emotions. But it also meant something deeper: she was in love with Chloe.
This revelation left her speechless. She did not know how to react to this news. Love was a feeling she had never imagined being able to feel, and it completely destabilized her.
She wondered how Chloe would react if she found out. Red feared that it would change everything between them, and she did not want to risk losing this precious friendship. For now, she decided to keep this secret to herself. She didn't feel ready to talk about it, and she preferred to continue discovering these new feelings in silence.
Red closed the book, her mind in turmoil. She knew she had to learn to manage these emotions and this gift she had just discovered. But one thing was certain: her love for Chloe was real, and she would do anything to protect this special relationship between them.
