Bea was just 6. Of course she was going to act like a kid, and like childish things.

The first time she was ever called out for liking something childish was by dumb Chad Charming.

It was her, her brother Ben, Audrey, Mulan’s daughter Lonnie, Jane, and Ariel and Eric’s daughter, her best friend Melody. She was kind of caught off guard when Chad had approached her while chasing a butterfly in the grass by the patch of oak trees, which was like the kids personal playground. That seemed to be the problem just to get the prince to start complaining.

“Bea, what..are you doing?” Chad stood nearby a tree, watching Bea with an eyebrow raised, the one of the faces Chad always had on.

Bea had stopped to look at Chad, waving the butterfly net in her hand in recognition. “Uh, trying to catch a butterfly?”

“Don’t you think that’s a little silly?” Chad huffed. Bea had heard that sentence before, whenever she suggested an idea and her father had a remark, he would always say it.

The princess looked at Chad for a moment, catching what he meant. “Silly how? I’m just catching a bug,”

“Exactly, catching a bug is silly, more so, stupid. Most princesses stick to their dolls like they should.” Chad shrugged, crossing his arms. “You should just read a book, it’s more productive than wasting your time catching a bug that’ll never come to you.”

He plucked a leaf from his hair that had fallen on top of his head, twirling the leaf in his hand then looking back Bea with a raised eyebrow.

Bea took a long look at Chad, then glanced at her butterfly net, awkwardly looking back up at Chad.

”Well, I like what I do, catching bugs isn’t much of a big deal.” She said.

Chad had seemed to get unnecessarily offended by what Bea had said, and got defensive. “I’m not MAKING it a big deal, and I’m just saying my opinion.” He remarked.

Bea sighed. It was always something dramatic with Cinderella and Charming’s son.

She walked over to where Ben was sitting alone in the shade, Audrey was probably picking flowers to find and give to him.

“What’s up?” Ben asked, looking at his sister as she sat beside him, putting her face in her palms.

”Do you think everything I do.. is childish?” Bea looked to him and asked, small tears beginning to form at the corner of her eye.

”No! What makes you say that?” Ben asked, eyes widening.

”No reason, just asking.” Bea said, blinking back her emotions. She wished she wasn’t much of an easy crier, it was probably showing all over her face that she was going to cry, her nose got red, or her eyes twitched.

”Well, I don’t think you act childish, everyone says your mature for your age, and no matter what you do or what you like, I’ll love you.” Ben smiled warmly. He was so sympathetic and the best older brother Bea could ever ask for. That’s why she looked up to him more that anyone.

“Thanks, Ben, I’ll love you too.” Bea smiled, hugging him tightly. Why should she listen to what Chad said? She just had to be herself and hopefully she would be liked, cause true princesses aren’t even liked, their loved. Right?
