Well, this is awkward..
Usagi dragged Leo by the hand, pointing at random rooms that dawned the blue yellow striped hallways “And these are the maker-rooms!” he swung one of the doors open to reveal a room filled with supplies, in the first room, Leo could make out a forge, in the second, sewing,
Third, paint,
Fourth, carpentry,
Fifth, sculpting,
And more…
It made Leo wonder, if this place wanted them to die so badly to make room for more, why would they have their prisoners be entertained like this? Why would they invest what had to be at least 50000 $ on activities for ‘animals’ that they don’t care about?
It made no sense.
Leo tried to pay as much attention as he could to Usagi’s… Energetic tour. Leo noticed a few heavily enforced doors that Usagi seemed to avoid like the plague, Leo couldn’t help the curiosity, crawling into his mind like a parasite.
“What’s behind those doors?” Leo asked Usagi abruptly, the rabbit stopped in his tracks, staring at the door. “It’s uh… Not someplace you want to be, the only reason I took this route is’cos it’s faster and I kinda figured you would still be tired, from last night?” Usagi answered with a shrug.
Leo raised an ‘eyebrow’ with a small tilt of hi head “How did you know i’d be-”
Leo was cut off by a loud bang followed by a blood curdling scream, Usagi grabbed Leo’s hand once more, but this time with urgency “C’mon!” Usagi whisper yelled as he dragged a stunned Leo through the yellow tripped hallways.
“Ugh, I hate going through there… I’d much rather take the long route!” Usagi panted, the door was no longer in sight, obviously, they had ran for miles, Leo really had underestimated how big this place was. Leo only watched as Usagi caught his breath, admiring his toned back and how the gray material he wore only seemed to define his muscles even more.
Shaking his head, Leo managed to bury the thought and urged his cheeks to return to their original shade of green.
This was ridiculous, he was ridiculous…
Usagi looked up at him and if he wasn’t covered in fur then Leo was almost positive that he was blushing “HOLY SHIT YOU’RE NAKED”
Leo looked at him, confused, he glanced down at himself “Oh, yeah. I was taking a shower in a river when some creeps tranqued me and dragged me here… What, you just noticed?” Usagi peeled his eyes away before grabbing Leo’s hand, again, and dragged him down a different hallway that led them back to a familiar area that Leo remembered Usagi called ‘Creativity hall’.
Usagi gestured to a door with ‘SEWING’ written on it in bold and promptly barged in.
“BELLA!” Usagi nearly screamed, a blue macaw with soft, yellow eyes looked up from their project, they looked annoyed until their eyes fell on Leo and his… Lack of clothes.
“Oh, my!” she yelped, quickly getting to work.
Within the hour, Leo had a new pair of pants, they were nothing special, the same colour as Usagi and literally everyone else’s in this god forsaken place, he had assured Bella that he didn’t need a shirt since he never did before.
Bella called him stupid.
Leo could only watch in awe as she skillfully cut out a sort of apron from matching material, two holes on each side, one at the top and two bits of fabric that hung loosely around the bottom. Bella forced Leo’s arms through the armholes (armholes in an apron?) and his head through the top one, she then tied the two stripes around his waist, tying them in a bow on his side.
“There!” Bella said “Next time come to me first before having the new guy walk around naked.” she said to Usagi.
“How could I have noticed? It’s not like there was anything to hide?” Usagi defended.
“Yeah… Turtle anatomy’s kinda complicated…” Leo said, scratching the back of his head shily, it felt so strange, wearing clothes. Leo always wore clothes, but this was different, his clothes when he was still living in the jungle were tattered, patchwork keeping them together, but now… He was wearing pants AND a shirt that had been custom made; for him.
“Thank you, Bella. This was really nice of you” Leo said smiling, one of the first genuine smiles that he had given anyone other than Lars, not that she could tell though, stupid muzzle.
To Leo’s delight, Bella smiled back “You’re welcome- Leo, was it? It was nice to meet you!” she waved, Bella then nudged Usagi playfully with her elbow “Don’t scare this one away, alright?”
Usagi pushed her away, grabbing Leo’s hand, again, and dragged him to leave the room, Bella waved them goodbye on their way out.
Usagi grumbled under his breath, causing Leo to chuckle. Usagi perked up, almost surprised.
“What? Is my laugh that bad?” Leo asked, he hoped it wasn’t…
Usagi was quick to defend himself “NO!” he cleared his throat “No, I actually find it pretty-UH pretty nice, yeah, pretty nice..”
Wow, alright. Leo could only chuckle more at his friend’s awkwardness.
Usagi looked back at Leo, realisation dawned on him “You’re a turtle.”
“Yes?”
“Can you swim?”
“Of course, where is this going?”
“You like fish?”
“I’m slightly scared of where you’re going with this, but yeah, I do.”
“Wanna go for a swim?”
Leo practically jumped with joy “YES!” He all but screamed.
—------------------------------------------------------------In New York:
“I hope he’s alright…”
Mikey looked up at Raph from his sport in the turtle pile, 5 months and still nothing from their brother.
“I’m sure he is, Raphie. Maybe he just… Doesn’t have any paper?”
“If that’s the case, I’m gonna kill him when he gets back.”
“Right behind you big bro.”

Leo emerged from the deep and circular pool in the middle of a dark and warm room.
“How are you alive?!” Usagi screeched in surprise, helping a shirtless Leo out front he water, a fish caught in between his teeth.
“I’m a turtle,” Leo reminded, taking the fish out of his mouth and hesitating before throwing it back in.
“I’m not really hungry.”
