Please, shut up.
Usagi dragged Leo halfway out of their cramped room, the buzzing still audible through the hallways.
The muzzle around his face clamped shut, Leo tried to pull both of his hands to his face but Usagi’s grip was tight around his wrist. “Trust me, you want to hold on to me.” Usagi stated determinedly, Leo looked into his eyes for a second, maybe two, Leo saw no reason to doubt him, so he nodded vigorously.
Usagi’s grip loosened, instead reaching down to hold Leo’s hand kindly.
When they finally stepped through the door Leo couldn’t believe his eyes; the hallways were full of mutants.
Leo looked around, tears welling in his eyes. They weren’t alone. Leo and his brothers weren’t alone in the world, there were at least a hundred mutants exiting doors identical to his and Usagi’s, they walked in a group, slowly walking through the very cramped hallway.
They walked closer to the crowd, people bumped into Leo left and right, Leo held onto Usagi’s arm like a lifeline in a panic. Many of the mutants were staring at him when they walked near them, some with disgust, some with curiosity and some in pity.
It made Leo feel uneasy, all of these eyes on him; staring, judging, thinking about why the fuck he had no clothes on. (It’s fine he has a shell)
They walked for a while, Usagi sending Leo the occasional concerned glances.
Leo wasn’t even intimidated by the other mutants, what made him uneasy was how fixated their gazes were on him and him alone. Leo had many questions, like why were they all wearing prison uniforms? Why was he the only one wearing a muzzle, save for some other animals with large fangs, or why was everyone else so much taller than him? Usagi towered over him, Leo was pushing 6.6ft having grown a bit in the jungle, but Usagi was around 7ft tall and he wasn’t even the tallest mutant here.
All of this was so weird, Leo tried to take a deep breath, only to be stopped half way through by the muzzle. Instead Leo tried to close his eyes, to imagine no one else was there or that he was somewhere else and let Usagi guide him.
Raph’s cold dead eyes.
Leo’s eyes shot open, tears welling in his eyes, he forced them back, letting Usagi’s soft fur under his fingers ground him. Leo picked a spot on the back of the giant hippo mutant in front of him, letting his thoughts take a break from focusing on his surroundings.
It felt nice.
Leo’s mind brought him to his favorite childhood memories, Donnie making his very first computer, Mikey showing him the new cool trick he learnt and Raph-
…
Raph, when they were about 8 or 9, would laugh so hard at Leo’s jokes that his drink would come out of his nose.
He missed them so much. Leo could only hope he could get out of here soon and go home. Leo didn’t care if he disappointed his father or not, it wasn’t worth all of this pain.
Leo wants to go home.
—---------------------------------------------------------In New York.
Raph felt a shiver go down his spine.
“Something just happened.” he said in a monotone voice with a hint of panic causing Mikey to look over at him from his seat in the Turtle-Tank, “You good, bro?” Raph wished he couldn’t see the dry tear streaks that stain his youngest brother’s face.
Raph managed to shake the feeling off “Yeah, I’jus got da shivers for some reason…”
“Okay!”
—--------------------------------------------------------In ???? -The S.E.E.K
The hippo dude moved to the side and Leo blinked back to reality, disappointed, he looked around to check out the scenery. Or lack thereof.
Leo was in what looked like a massive metal dome with probably about ten-fifteen cat walks tha related different platforms, balconies and doors that led to who knows where. What Leo did know however is that there were hundreds of well armoured, well toned and well trained guards armed with heavy duty guns in this room with him and maybe a thousand other mutants.
If he could rally all of the mutants together then they could overpower all of the guards easily.
The only problem is that Leo’s pretty sure he’s the only (mostly) bullet-proof person in this room.
But if you compare the odds, escape looks pretty good, risk a couple of injuries- or even preventable deaths, in exchange for their freedom. Sounds perfect.
Leo’s shoulders sagged. He hates it when his Sensei’s training and harsh one on ones turned out to be actually useful.
In the center of the room there was a large stage with guards keeping the mutants a good few feet away from it, as if they were waiting for someone important.
“Hey, Usagi.” Leo’s raspy voice was slightly muffled by the muzzle but thankfully Usagi heard him regardless “Yes, Leo? Is something wrong?” This guy was a saint.
“No, I’m fine thank you” If only that were true, Leo had to resist rubbing his stinging wrists where the metal cuffs still sat “I was just wondering what we were waiting for.”
Usagi looked at the turtles currently clinging to his arm as if he’d grown two heads, a moment passed and Usagi’s confusion was replace with realization.
“Sorry, I forgot you were new for a sec, anyways, we’re waiting for the Warden. He runs this place.”
Leo took in the new information with a hum “I-is he… Nice?” he asked hesitantly, making Usagi chuckle “Hehe… Nah, but he’s not as bad if you behave.”
Well that’s just great.
As if on cue, a tall (above average) man that kind of looked like Elon Musk appeared on stage.
Leo already hated him.
The man spread his hands, gesturing towards the audience.
“Hello, my pests!” The man’s voice echoed through the metal room through microphones, Leo didn’t miss how it made Usagi’s ears flatten with a wince.
This was going to be a very long day.
“Today is a special day! Do you know why?”
The room remained silent, the defiance only seemed to make the man happier.
“Because today we have once again reached full capacity!”
Cries of fear sounded out from the crowd.
“I’m gonna explain it for our new guest, and for the lucky bitches that managed to forget!”
The cries instantly quieted down, as if they were afraid of interrupting.
Oh boy
“When we reach full capacity, we play a game! In this game we send a selected few, give or take some volunteers, outside where you’ll race around the island!”
Island?
“But don’t worry, this island isn’t like any other, because the weather ANd biomes are fully controllable and some even artificial! So you’ll have to trek through swamps, survive MULTIPLE kinds of storms AND temperatures! This race can last up to three months, so make sure you’re prepared mentally to see some dead bodies!” He said that last part with a chuckle.
What the fuck.
“The best part is that this year, it’s not just for me or my friends but also for whoever is willing to pay for it! That’s right! It’s broadcasted! And the lucky winner will be sent to fight in the Monster Collecter’s society that is being hosted in-drumroll!”
This guy was worse than Casey.
“JAPAN!”
yay.
