Chapter 2
Nobody POV:
It all started in 2021, when Cynthia and Ariana got called into a zoom call. They were both presented with the roles of glinda and elphaba for wicked. The girls were so happy to be able to be the chosen ones for this movie. The tears of joy couldn't stop coming out, as they gave off multiple thank you’s for the opportunity. After a couple minutes later the directors and agents had left and it was just Cynthia and Ariana in the call.
Cynthia POV:
I just got casted for Elphaba in the movie. I can’t even fathom the feelings I'm feeling. Not only did I get casted but I’n going to be doing this with Ariana Grande. It all feels like a fever dream. It was just me and her left in the call, and we couldn’t stop crying and laughing. I decided to speak first:
“Hii Ari, how do you feel?”
“I feel fucking fantastic, i mean i never thought this day would come. Where I can actually be glinda. It just feels so surreal.”
“Who are you telling? I feel the same way you do. I just can’t believe it. Well since you’re going to be the glinda to my elphaba i feel like there should be a hangout put in place so i can get to know you. How does that sound?”
“I think that sounds amazing, when would you want to plan it?”
“I mean sometime later this week, Saturday for sure. I don’t have anything planned for that day.”
“Yea saturday sounds good, i don’t have anything for that day either. You’re coming to me or I'll come to you?”
“Well since i insisted, i think it would be a courtesy to have you come to my house.”
“Sounds like a plan cynthia. I can‘t wait to meet you in real life. I just know that we are gonna hit it off really well.”
“I think so too, i have your number now, so i’ll send you my address, okay? We can keep in contact until the hangout and ever after.”
“Yes of course, I will let you know that I am a little texter. So I text a lot, just be ready for the jokes and memes I'll be sending you.”
“Oh I'm ready for all of it love, bring it on.”
“Okay, well unfortunately I have to go. Have another meeting to attend to. You know how these things go.”
“Yes I do, it was lovely talking to you ari. I can’t wait to see you soon.”
“Likewise here cyn, talk to you soon. Bye!”
“Bye bye ari.”
Oh my, I get to hang out with Ariana Grande. I never thought this would be happening. She’s so delightful and has a caring spirit. I definitely have to find out what her star sign is.
I get up out of my chair to check on my babies, and get them food. They were just laying in the living room chilling. I put food and water in their bowls and called them to eat. I sat in the living room just looking over emails and responding to them, getting ready to tell my family the news.
Ariana POV:
I just went off the zoom call with Cynthia Erivo. She is so amazing, and her voice is out of this world. I can’t believe she's gonna be the elphaba to my glinda. Unfortunately I left the call to attend another meeting. We were discussing a new launch for my perfume/makeup business.
The call didn’t really take long, I just had to finalize some things and I was free to go. I straight up called my mom, Frankie, and nonna. I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to tell them.
“Ari baby, everything alright?”
“Yes mother, everything is fine. I just wanted to tell the three of you the good news. Nonna and Frankie are not in here yet so we are gonna wait.”
“Okay dear.”
“HIIIII ari, what’s up sis?”
“Hii frankieeee, i was telling mom that i have great news to share with you guys.”
“Oh is that so? I wonder what it could be.”
“You’ll know soon, just gotta wait for nonna.”
“Hello my sweet, how are you?”
“Hi nonna, I’m doing good. I got some great news and I want to share it with the most important people in my life.”
“Of course dear, what is this great news you have?”
“The great news is that you are looking at the new Glinda Uplands from the Upper Uplands of Wicked!!”
“AHHHHHHH”
“AHHHHH”
“Awww my sweet, I’m so proud of you.”
“Thank you nonna, I really appreciate it.”
“YES ARIIII, i’m so glad too, I know you’re going to do well.”
“Thanks Frankie, mom?”
“Oh my ari, I’m truly happy for you, I know you’ve been dreaming of this moment since the beginning.”
“Yes mom I truly can’t believe it. My castmate Cynthia Erivo, has been casted for Elphaba. Mom when I tell you this woman is amazing. It’s truly mind blowing.”
“Yes yes I have heard of her. She has a beautiful voice. She is very talented.”
“Yes she is. A true woman at that. Yea i just wanted to let you guys know the good news. I hope you guys are all well. I miss you all so so so much.”
“We miss you too my beloved.”
“Yea ari we miss you.”
“Well I'll talk to you guys later, okay? Take care of yourselves.”
“Will do.”
“Of course sis.”
“Will do, dear.”
I hung up the phone and headed to take a shower and fix dinner for tonight. Today has been a long and exciting day.
