Meeting the Messagener

Searching for people in her Hyrule was always a nightmare. It was giant, and with the sky islands and the depths. She had no idea where to even start. Something it could do is probably ask any of the stable workers to look out for any travelers with unique appearances, and just tell them to inform it.

She sighed. If she passed any stables on her search, it would tell them that. They somehow managed to get in touch with each other shockingly quickly. (It honestly was just not going to question it at all.)

Wolfie bugged her leg and looked at her curiously. It let out a giggle and ruffled his fur. He seemed very pleased once he got it to laugh, and started walking down the path again. When had they started walking down this path anyways? Was he leading her places again?

Well if he seemed to know where he was going she would trust him. He wasn’t really ever wrong anyways. It continued on the path behind him as he happily walked down it. It really wanted to know where he was leading her, but she knew it wouldn’t get an answer.

They didn’t spend much longer on this path. Was it in the middle of the woods? Yes, but that’s just how it’s Hyrule was. Basically half of it was 50 percent of it was forest. So it wasn’t shocked when Wolfie went off path and stopped at a small clearing. It was a good place to set up a camp, especially if there was more than one person.

Which she knew for a fact there were. She went to go kind of hid behind a tree. Not because it was scared, but because it just wanted to see what exactly she was about to go into. Wolfie didn’t seem to care though and just walked right over. Thanks for that.

She sighed. So much for taking a look before walking in. It just shook its head and walked in behind Wolfie. This was going to be chaotic. As she approached behind Wolfie she took in what exactly this group was.

There was 8 people. An older looking guy, a buffer looking guy with wolf pelt on his back (that wolf looked a lot like Wolfie), what looked like a soldier, a kid, a second kid, a teenager with a streak of pink in his hair, another teenager that was attached to the first one, and what looked like to just some random traveler.

Well these heroes definitely looked different from what it imagined, but it honestly couldn’t talk. With her own unique appearance, she did look amazing though. Taking a breath, it stood next to Wolfie with a hand (its fake hand). Now what to say.

“Excuse me.”

They whipped around to look at her. With clear confusion and uncertainty. She just gave them a smile, it was reasonable to not trust a random person. Though with it’s appearance, it wouldn’t take long before they figured out that it was Link.

The older looking man spoke up, most likely the first one to connect the dots. Not that she would know until someone said something.

“Can we help you…. Miss?”

He sounded unsure if She was a miss or not, which just made it laugh. It gave a small nod towards him, hoping to convey he was indeed right.

“Do you all happen to be on the quest?”

They gave her puzzled looks. The older man nodded once more. Was he in charge?

“We are on a quest, Miss. May I know why you want to know?”

Okay well what does she say now? Wolfie didn’t really give it enough time to plan out what to say. It glared down at Wolfie for a quick second before looking back up.

“Well uh. I’m um.”

Okay now she was just embarrassing herself. It sighed, and told itself to just get it over with. Once it’s over with, she can just go and run around the wooded area around the camp.

“Okay, so far as I’m aware. You guys are the heroes Hylia sent, correct?”

The old man nodded. She guessed he already pieced it together. Everyone else looked shocked, though it appeared some of them were piecing it together. Slowly piecing it together.

“We are. You’re the Link of this Hyrule I assume.”

It nodded. He did piece it together, well that was one less thing to explain.

“Indeed I am.”

At least that was out of the way. The only other things to explain were all connected, mainly. The whole technically being the second hero in this era, which led into the whole age and 100 year sleep, and also the memory situation. The whole being a completely different person too.

Yeah there was still a whole lot to explain on top of being Hylia’s Messenger, but everything would be talked about in due time. Not that she trusted them fully yet. She would tell them when the time called for it.

“May I ask how you knew about us?”

“Well umm. About that. I kind of have the ability to talk to the goddess Hylia through the statues around Hyrule, and she kind of told me about this happening…”

And now everyone was looking baffled at it. Which was to be expected. That was a crazy statement. It was really really bad at social interactions. What she gets for being raised by the wilderness and a wolf. No offense to them, she loves them with all its heart but it does make socializing with hylians very difficult.

Okay maybe that was a lot of information to dumb at once. Was that too much? Should it have not said all of it at once? Oh Hylia… She was starting to regret being so blunt…

She looked down at Wolfie, who seemed to be perfectly fine. Maybe it was just overthinking this. Hylia above were hylians complicated. This is why she preferred animals ove hylians. Less social norms, whatever that meant (the word was more thrown at her then explained).

This was going to be a long day.
