The Message
She was listening to Purah and Zelda talk. They were important things, but she wasn’t really interested. Mainly cause it just wanted to run around in the woods again. Zelda really didn’t mind her doing that, as long as she can watch her to make sure nothing happens. Link may or may not have the tendency to get into trouble when left alone. It’s not it’s fault though! It just tends to attract trouble is all, and maybe sometimes on purpose…
Her ears flicked as she heard a buzzing sound in the back of its mind. Its eyes drifted to the door. She recognized that buzzing sound. She knew what it meant , and it really didn’t like what it meant. It sighed and looked back over to the two girls chatting. Shaking her head, she walked over to Zelda and put its hand on her shoulder.
“Zel.”
Zelda and Purah both stopped their conversation to look at Link. It sighed and shook her head again.
“She wants to talk again…”
Link never enjoyed actually saying it. This was the best way she could think of to get around uttering the actual phrase. What did it mean by this? Well ever since it woke up. She was able to talk to the goddess, and whenever Hylia wanted something from then on she would simply start a buzzing sound in the back of Link’s head till she talked to her.
It was annoying, and it really hated saying the fact that it could talk to the goddess. Basically she was the goddess’s messenger, and being that wasn’t fun. She didn’t really enjoy it at all.
Zelda looked at it with sympathy and nodded. All of its friends knew what that phrase meant, and all of them felt sorry for her. They knew how much she didn’t like it.
“Come back once you’re done talking to her, oaky?”
Link gave a swift nod and left the room where Purah and Zelda still stood, and could vaguely hear them going back to the conversation they were having beforehand as it walked away.
Wolfie had come back after its second journey, and was currently lying outside on the deck. He immediately popped his head up at the sound of her footsteps. He slowly stood up and gave a big stretch before walking over to her. It gave a slight chuckle as he rugged his head against its leg.
“Sorry bud, I can’t hangout right now. She needs me.”
She shook her head as he let out a small whine, but nodded and went to lay back down. She gave him a small smile before walking off again. Softly making its way over to the emergency shelter’s ladder.
Swiftly it descended down the ladder before looking around the shelter. It wasn’t much, but it held the ability to make sure people could live down here for a bit so it worked. She then locked eyes with the goddess statue down here. The buzzing grew.
She sighed, and walked over to it. It sat down in front of the statue and stared at it. It knew she had a message. She wasn’t excited for what was to come next.
“Dear Messenger, I've called to you this day,
A quest I give, no time to delay,
From ages past, heroes I shall send,
To help you fight, until the very end.
The monsters rise, a dreadful, fearsome strain,
Their power is vast, they bring endless pain.
With these brave souls, your mission will unfold,
To vanquish beasts, courageous and bold.
Through darkest nights, and battles yet untold,
You'll fight with them,
Of monsters gone, no longer a threat,
A victory won, a debt that's been met.
And one thing more, before you start the fray,
Bring forth your mentor,
Your wolf companion, by your side he'll stay,
To guide and help you, in this destined way.”
She started. That was a lengthy one. Repeating it over and over again in her head. It needed to have this memorized so that the message could be deciphered. The goddess always spoke in riddles, so it usually had the others' help deciphered.
She shook her head once more and stood up. She quickly made its way back to the ladder, and ever swiftly made its way up the ladder. Once it reached the top, she quickly ran over to the room Purah and Zelda were still most likely in. Wolfie did lift his head as she ran past, but didn’t get up to follow as he assumed it was going to go and tell Zelda the message.

It sighed at the two pieces of paper laying in front of the three of them. One had the original message written on it, as word for word as she could get it, and the other had the translation on it. While the translation wasn’t perfect, because well it is rhymes and there can’t be an actual translation for that, it was as close as they all could get.
The translation wasn’t something she was looking forward to. While it obviously had its assumptions about the message, she was still holding on to the fact that those assumptions could be wrong. They were in fact not wrong.
The translation basically stated this: She was going on another quest and had to find what was apparently a group of heroes from the past (well it hoped they were in a group), and had to join them in what it assumed was their quest in defeating much stronger monsters.
What it meant by stronger monsters? She wasn’t sure. At least that what she believes is what the message says anyways.
It just had to find them, and apparently Wolfie gets to join too. Which was actually quite nice. At least it got to have her mentor join her. That was a relief. He had been with it on its first journey, but not on her second. So having him on her 3rd was honestly very nice.
