He survived

Regulus sits on the couch watching Peter like a hawk. Regulus knows what Peter is going to do, he was in that meeting. He knows Peter is going to betray his best friends, who the fuck would do something like that? Regulus has a plan, yes, he always has a plan. He needs Peter to leave, and he needs Evan, Pandora, Barty, Dorcas, Marlene and Mary. Fuck is he really going to do this? He has to it'll save his friends and his sibling, and the person he loves. Yes, he knows James doesn't like him back but if James is safe then Regulus is fine. He'll have to be fine. Regulus is currently pretending to kill Peter in his head, what if it wasn't pretend? Regulus would like if it wasn't pretend.

Regulus gets snapped out of his murdering plans because Sirius quite literally snaps in front of his face. "You look like you are murdering Peter" Sirius jokes and sits down by Regulus.

Regulus looks at him and says. "Thats because I am"

Sirius's eyes widen. Regulus loves getting a reaction out of people especially his sibling. "Okay, well, I-why?"

Regulus looks at Peter whose standing with James, Lily, and Remus talking about the three broomsticks. "You'll find out later"

Sirius nods and scratches their neck. "Well, you can come join the conversation any time" Sirius says then walks back over to their friends. They walk over to Remus and Remus wraps his arm around Sirius's waist.

Regulus watches them. He watches James and Lily flirt with each other every now and then. Regulus wants to leave; he doesn't want to watch this anymore. He watches as James kisses Lily and that's when he can't watch anymore. He stands up and goes to the door, but he's pulled back by Peter. Regulus looks at Peter. He is taller than Peter, not by much but he is. Thats good, it gives him the upper hand. Peter lets go of the sleeve of Regulus's shirt and practically shrinks to the floor under Regulus's glare. Peter steps back and says. "I-they- Lily told me to stop you from leaving-"

Regulus cuts him off. "I don't give a fuck, I'm leaving"

Peter steps back again. "I-you can't"

Regulus's glare sharpens. "And who are you to tell me what to do?" He drops his voice to a whisper. "Unless you want your little secret revealed"

Peter bites his lip. "You'd get in trouble with the dark lord"

Regulus smirks. "I am too valuable to the dark lord" Peter steps back again. Regulus turns to leave again but is pulled back again. But this person is stronger, this person holds his arm with more force. He looks back and it's Lily. "Let me go Evans"

Lily scoffs and pulls him to the couch. "You don't have the right to tell me what to do"

Regulus stands back up. "I could say the same thing to you" Him and Lily stand eye-to-eye, sizing each other up with their equally sharp glares. Regulus has to admit, Lily doesn't take shit, he can respect that.

"Sit down Black"

"Why should I Evans?"

Lily rolls her eyes and crosses her arms. "Because you can't leave. Dumbledore's orders"

Regulus laughs humorlessly. "Why should I listen to Dumbledore? He isn't my headmaster anymore and I'm not on his side of the war. He has no power over me"

Lily scoffs. "Oh yeah, because you're a death eater, how's that going for you?'

"Awesome, thanks" He crossed his arms

"Oh yeah because a broken arm is amazing" She stands up straighter as if trying to size Regulus up. Regulus also stands up straighter showing her that he doesn't back down easily. "I fucking hate you Blacks"

"Thanks, we hate us too" Regulus says back. Did she really think the Black family loved themselves? See, that's funny.

"You and Sirius are the two most stubborn people I know" She drops her hands to her sides.

"Wow comparing me to my sibling? How kind" he says in a cold tone.

Lily turns around where Sirius, Remus, James and Peter are all huddled together. "Sirius, I swear on Merlin's grave I'm going to kill your brother"

"Not if I kill you first" She turns around looking angrier than she did before he said that. They size each other up again and then she walks back to James, Remus, Sirius, and Pete. Regulus obviously won. "Sirius, Peter needs to leave, and I need to get some people. You wanted answers I'll give them to you"

Lily turned to Sirius. "What answers? What the fuck is happening?" James grabs her hand. Regulus can't tell if he's scared or if he's telling Lily to calm down. Honestly, it's probably both.

Sirius sighs. "Pete, you got to leave I'm sorry"

Peter hesitantly nods then walks over to the door where Regulus is still standing. Regulus grabs Peter's arm before he leaves and whispers into his ear. "If you tell the dark lord anything, the only thing that will be left of you is your thumb. Don't test me Pettigrew" Peter is shaking, he's obviously terrified of Regulus and Regulus absolutely loves it. Peter nods and Regulus lets go of his arm. Peter leaves and then Regulus grabs his wand. Lily steps forward and grabs his wand out of his hand.

Lily puts his wand in her pocket. "You aren't doing shit Black"

Regulus reaches into her pocket and takes his wand back. "I already said some people needed to be here and then you'd get answers" Lily hesitantly walks back over to James. Regulus sends a Patronus to Evan, Barty, Pandora and Dorcas, telling them to come to Sirius's flat and that Barty would know where it is.

Regulus puts his wand back into his pocket and turns around. James speaks up and says. "Who did you contact Black?"

Regulus looks at James and has to push down the butterflies that flutter in his stomach. James's hair is messy, and his glasses keep falling down his nose. He's wearing casual clothes but Holy hell. "You'll find out soon Potter" Regulus sits down on the couch and closes his eyes. He didn't sleep well the night before. He kept thinking about his friends and why his brother was being so kind. Regulus doesn't know if he regrets all of this, or if he regrets opening up to Sirius. He only did it because Sirius had been so kind to him.

Everyone jumps when the front door bursts open, Regulus knows who it is, but the force of the door opening surprised him. "Where's pretty boy?" Barty says then looks at the couch and jumps over the back of it to sit down next to Regulus. "There you are Pretty boy"

Regulus looks over at Barty. "Save the pet names for Evan"

Barty rolls his eyes. "But annoying you is so much more fun"

Regulus scoffs and then gets tackled off the couch by Pandora and he can hear everyone trying not to laugh. He wraps his arms around her, so she doesn't hit the floor, but he hit the floor extremely hard. "Regulus Arcturus Black, you scared me to fucking death!" She lifts her head to look at him.

He coughs because of the force of him hitting the floor but says. "I won't do it again" Pandora nods and buries her head back into his shoulder. "Pandora, did you have to knock the wind out of me?" Pandora nods. "Yeah, okay" Regulus hears Sirius not being able to hold back their laughter because he hears one person start to laugh, then another, and another, and eventually everyone is laughing except Regulus.

Regulus knows it's Dorcas who lifts Pandora off of him because he hears heals walking on the hard floor. Dorcas sits Pandora on the couch and pats her head. Regulus stands up and then gets hit on the back of the head by Dorcas. "We love you Reg, but we will kill you if you scare us like that again"

Regulus nods and rubs the back of his head. "Yeah, I've learned that the hard way" Dorcas nods and that makes Sirius and James lean on each other, so they don't fall over. Regulus turns around where Lily, James, Remus and Sirius are all laughing. "If you guys don't stop laughing, I'm going to hex your vocal cords out"

James stops laughing and Lily tries to, but Sirius is being held up by James and Remus. Regulus rolls his eyes. "Once you guys are done, you need to call the McKinnon girl and the MacDonald girl" This makes everyone stop laughing.

Dorcas grabbed Regulus's arm and yanked him closer. Dorcas was the tiniest bit taller than Regulus, so Regulus had to look up at her. Her grip was tight on his arm. "What the fuck is your game and why do you need Marlene for it?" Her tone was sharp, and dangerous. Dorcas is fucking terrifying when she wants to be, but luckily for Regulus he's stubborn and isn't scared of many things. Dorcas definitely isn't one of the things he's scared of.

Regulus looks her with a neutral expression and says. "McKinnon will be fine"

"She better be" Dorcas let go of Regulus's arm

"Since when did you care about McKinnon so much?" Barty says from the couch.

"Since a couple months ago" Dorcas says and sits down on the couch.

Regulus turns around when a deer Patronus flies past him and out of the house. "Whose Patronus was that?" James raises his hand. "This isn't fucking school Potter you can talk"

James nods. "Well, the Patronus was mine. But what is your plan?"

Regulus rolls his eyes. "As I said, what three times now? You'll figure out soon" Regulus turned to the door as it opened. Mary and Marlene both walked in. Mary and Marlene both ran to Lily and the three girls all fell to the floor from the force they all hugged each other. "All three of you need to get the fuck off the floor and sit on the couches"

Mary stood up and pulled the other two girls up with her. "Who the fuck gave you the right to tell us what to do?"

"Myself" Regulus crossed his arms.

"Bullshit, you and Sirius haven't spoken in three years, and your suddenly in charge in Sirius's house?"

"Mary" Mary turned to face Sirius when they said her name. "He is in charge, and we need to listen to what he has to say, it's important"

"How would you know?" Mary crossed her arms

"Can you all just shut the fuck up? Regulus has something to say, so sit the fuck down and listen" Remus said and leaned on Sirius. It was obvious his leg wasn't doing well. Sirius wrapped an arm around Remus's waist and helped him into the armchair and then sat on his leg that wasn't hurting. Remus wrapped his arms around Sirius's waist and rested his chin on Sirius's shoulder. Everyone quickly walked into the living room. James and Evan sat on the floor and Barty was sitting in Evans lap, Lily, Marlene, Mary, Dorcas and Pandora all sat on the couch and Regulus stood in front of them.

"Can we be kindly told what is happening now?" James said smiling at Regulus. Regulus felt butterflies in his stomach again. Damn you, James Potter.

Regulus nodded and sighed. "Well, I have decided I am not on either side of the war. I have decided I'm making my own side. I was thinking I could pretend to be on both Voldemort and Dumbledore's side to benefit my side, but it's not a very good chance of winning the war if its only me. So, I was wondering-"

Regulus got cut off because Barty, Evan, Dorcas, and Pandora all said. "I'll join" At the same time.

Saying Regulus was surprised would be an understatement. He knew his friends were loyal, but he didn't think they were that loyal. Regulus nodded and said. "Okay, well the rest of you then. This side would keep you safe. It's not safe from fights, it's still war. But neither Dumbledore nor Voldemort are doing good things. It may seem like Dumbledore is the better side, but he's still doing wrong. On my side, it would ensure you make it out safe. Each of you have different strengths. Pandora is the best person at spells that I know. Dorcas and Lily are both the brightest witches of their time, and Lily is muggle born, she knows stuff about muggles and what their stuff means and does. Remus and Mary are both amazing at Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Remus is also good at magical history. Though Barty doesn't show it, he's one of the smartest people here. He can manipulate people very easily and knows a lot about potions. Evan is good at defensive spells. And Potter being the kind person he is can also manipulate people" Regulus tried not to look at James for too long and looked at Evan instead. "This group of people is very dangerous, and together we have a high chance of winning the war"

Sirius and Remus nodded. "Me and Moony are in"

Regulus nodded and tried very hard not to smile. All he needed was for James, Lily, Marlene and Mary to join. "Why couldn't Peter be in it?" Of course, count on James Potter to focus on his friends first.

Regulus looked at James and sighed. "You were told about the prophecy, correct?" James nodded. "Peter is a spy for Voldemort. He's a death eater spying on your guys' side of the war. His orders were to try and convince Sirius to make him the secret keeper. Once he was, he would betray you and- and Lily" He hated how he struggled to say Lilys name. "He was supposed to kill you guys. I was at the meeting where Voldemort told these instructions to Peter"

James looked on the verge of tears and Regulus hated it. He wanted so bad to make him happy again, but he couldn't. Lily looked as if she was holding back from murdering someone. "I'm in" Lily said.

"Me too" Followed Mary.

"yeah, me too" Marlene said and nodded.

Regulus looked back at James and struggled not to move to wipe the tear that fell down James's face. "I'm in too" he said then wiped the tear away.

Regulus has everyone he needs to help him in the war, but why does it hurt so much?
