Summary
It started with a dream. To be honest he’s been having the same dream every night since he was 6. It has been plaguing his day thoughts as well as his nights because the dream is so realistic yet so vague. Some parts are fuzzy like the faces of the people he meets, their bodies too, but the sense of color, or of being is still there.Draco Malfoy has had the same dream every night since he was a child. In it he can hear a song that someone sings but he can't see them. He knows that he knows the people in the dream, but when he wakes up all he can remember are the colors those people represent. He hopes someday that he gets to meet the people in the dream, or the person singing. The strange thing is that he can see one person from the dream almost clear as day, but he can only wake up with their name on the tip of his tongue.

What Matters Most

Everything happened so fast for Harry he didn’t really know how to describe what had happened if he was asked. One moment Malfoy was handing Luna a backpack and the next both the Aurors in the room and the Death Eaters were being impaled by bones, thrown into walls, or blasted away with what looked like a giant skull. He knew that his eye was glowing while the other one seemed to have completely disappeared into a void, that much Harry did know. He didn’t know where these powers were suddenly coming from, why Malfoy was calling himself random names, and why he was stealing from the Ministry. Not for the first time in his life Harry Potter was a very confused boy.

Frisk saw all of this in the faces of every student that stood shocked behind them as they finished using the Gaster Blaster. When the blaster faded the only thing they could do was stand there gasping for breath, they didn’t know that it took this much effort to keep up with Sans’ magic, but it made sense that no one else but him could fully handle it after all. There was a reason he was chosen to be a judge, and something was telling Frisk that it wasn’t the puns. She was almost positive that Asgore hated puns, or maybe he was just bad at them. They were so tired, but the battle wasn’t done yet, they still had to get out of there.

Without a second thought Frisk turned around and grabbed their backpack out of the hands of Luna before booking it down the hallway. They could hear the shouts of the members of the Order and the footsteps following after them, but they didn’t pause, didn’t turn around, for a moment Frisk didn’t even think of anything other than getting the ever-loving fuck out of that building.

Why didn’t we murder those Bird Worshipers as well? Chara asked inside their shared headspace, it would seem that they were still not satisfied with all of the deaths that they had just caused. They really were a greedy demon.

“Because Remus and Sirius are part of the gang, I couldn’t risk them jumping out to save someone they knew. Also notice how I didn’t murder the Minister either, mostly because he’s a coward who hid behind Dumbledore, and also because I didn’t want to create a fucking power vacuum on the first day I get my family back. I’m saying this because I know that you were going to ask as well.” They felt more than heard the ‘hmp’ that came out of Chara, but still chuckled all the same. They heard a tiny snicker coming from the bag, and grinned, this was nice, the three of them back together again. No time to actually banter with their siblings though, they had to get out of the Department of Mysteries.

It took some time, but they had finally reached the Floo Chamber of the Ministry. It was lucky that you didn’t actually need Floo powder to use the fireplaces in the Ministry, so when the spells came whipping by their head, and Frisk had narrowly dodged a statue being blown up right next to them, they showed no hesitation to dive into the Fireplace and yell out “Hogwarts!”

They stumbled out in the headmaster’s office, knocking into his desk in their hurry to get out of there. They heard something crash behind them and hoped that it wasn’t important as they launched themselves down the stairs taking multiple at a time before finally reaching the end and then continuing the trend of running like your life depended on it by racing down the hallway.

“Mr. Malfoy,” McGonagall started to say when they encountered her on the way to the entrance hall, but they ignored her and ran past her. They didn’t have time for her to question why they were out of bed or some other foolish rule that didn’t matter when they were running against a time limit of how long it takes Dumbledore to actually navigate his own school. They did however notice something might have actually been wrong when they reached the Entrance Hall and saw Flitwick and Sprout standing guard by the doors. It was when Frisk stopped, gasping at the air in order to catch her breath and figure out what they were doing there, that they heard McGonagall coming up behind them.

“Mr. Malfoy, Albus sent a Patronus telling the staff that under no circumstances were you allowed to leave the school building. I don’t know what this is all about, but we’ll figure it out when he gets back, lets get you to the headmaster’s office, you look like you could use some tea.” Frisk felt her hand on their shoulder guiding them away from the entrance. Frisk heard her voice saying something that they couldn’t actually hear, but they retained none of this knowledge they were too busy screaming in their own head. How were they going to get out of this one, there’s no way they could actually take on every member of the staff, not with the souls being as drained as they were, not with them being as tired as they were. They couldn’t get Chara to kill them, they actually needed to retain a decent standing with the school seeing as their family was living in the Forbidden Forest.

Multiple and rapid footsteps ahead of them gained their attention, and Frisk’s blood froze. This was it after everything they had done, after all the years they spent searching, after annihilating an entire fuck police force, it was all going to be for nothing. Their eyes began to sting, their throat began to burn, they were never actually going to see their family ever again. The souls would just be shipped back to the ministry to be torn apart and researched further. Flowey was probably going to actually be tortured this time, and there was nothing they could do about it.

A feeling of helplessness shrouded Frisk, so much so that they didn’t feel the gentle nudges Flowey was giving them through the backpack. The calming thoughts Chara was trying to send to them, the or the gently glow San’s soul was giving off from his place still attached to the locket. Nothing got through to them, until the footsteps grew closer, and she finally saw them turning the corner. The rest of what remained of the Hogwarts/Ministry crew, and leading the charge was none other than the FUCKING MINISTER HIMSELF.

He saw Frisk and the Transfiguration professor, and this grin took over his face. Frisk didn’t know how to describe it, it was like a demented mixture of ‘I won’ and ‘Now I have new toys to play with.’ It sickened them, shook them to there very core, and when the bastard opened his mouth and said “Mr. Malfoy, I believe you have something that rightfully belongs to me” Frisk. Saw. RED.

Before they knew it their wand was in their hand, the window to their left was being shattered, and Frisk was jumping out of it and making their way across the lawn. Like hell were they ever going to give their family over to a human that made that face, that was the face of the humans that probably locked the monsters away in the first place. It was probably the face of the asshole who tore their souls from their bodies leaving nothing but statues. It was not going to be the face of someone they lose too. Not tonight, not ever.

The thought of kicking that jackass’ ass fills you with DETERMINATION

They were halfway across the lawn when a hole was blasted into the ground mere inches away from them and a voice screamed “Frisk.” It was the mention of their real name that caused them to pause more than anything else. Turning around they came face to face with a line of people all of them with their wands pointed directly at them. For his protection Frisk unlatched San’s soul and forced it into the backpack. If nothing else they knew Flowey would protect the souls, turning into Asriel is necessary to get them away from here. Well maybe Flowey didn’t know that part of the plan, Frisk should probably inform him.

“Flowey, if I say so I want you to consume the souls and turn into Asriel, there should be enough for that right? If not Omega Flowey is good too.”

“Frisk, I don’t know if I should leave you-” They cut him off.

“When I say it take the souls and run, this is not up for debate.” Flowey didn’t try to argue after that, and Frisk took his silence as agreement.

“Remus let me go.” Frisk was looking directly at the haggard werewolf as they said this. They knew that this was hard for him, that he would essentially be doing something similar to treason if he let them escape, but he also knew how much this meant to them, and if he truly cared for Frisk then he would let them go. “You know what this means to me, you saw the bodies, I have to get them back.” Suddenly San’s coat felt heavier, like a weight on their shoulders, it pulled on them making it harder to breath, but they pushed that away. There would be no time for doubt, they were getting their family back even if they had to let Chara murder every single one of the people standing in their way.

“Frisk, maybe you should just come with us, explain why you need the souls, and they might let you have them.” The Minister snorted.

“I’m sorry werewolf, but I don’t think you have any authority to tell me what I can and can’t do with those weapons. They are way too powerful for anything but the Ministry to have, and we will be taking both of them, and the flower with us, and the kid will have to have a trial for stealing from the Ministry.” Frisk growled, and Remus looked suddenly more tired.

“I won’t let you have them, I would rather go back on my promise to Toriel and Sans than let you sick fucks mess with them.” Frisk pulled their back closer to themselves, they really needed to take it off and run, making sure the bag wasn’t facing the people with active wands aimed at them, but right now they needed to try to reason with these people.

“Frisk, just,” Remus didn’t continue, he just sighed. He opened his mouth to continue, but he didn’t get his chance.

“Give me the bag, kid.” Sirius said stepping forward and away from the group.

“Sirius?” asked Potter, and it was then that Frisk noticed that the students had followed them as well. Poor kid sounded so heartbroken and confused.

“Harry, I am not letting Frisk lose their family.” Sirius didn’t look back at the boy, only continued walking towards Frisk. “Kid, give them to me. I’ll get them to the grove faster than you can.” Frisk held their breath staring down Sirius, waiting to see if this was a trick, but they only saw pure determination in his eyes, and it resonated with them. Hesitantly they took off the bag and gave it to Sirius. He grinned at them, and for a moment they thought that they had made a mistake when he put it in between his teeth and turned into Padfoot.

Relief coursed through Frisk’s very being as they watched the large dog bound away into the forest. They then turned to face the rest of the group who all looked dumbstruck that Sirius would do something like that. He was probably the most loyal of anyone there.

What the rest of the group didn’t know, and what Remus suspected was that Sirius wasn’t really loyal to anyone but Harry, Remus, and probably by what they just saw Frisk. There was no way that he was going to make Frisk lose their family, and Remus felt relief purely because Sirius had done something, he had when Remus didn’t know what to do, but that was the good thing about Sirius, he always followed his gut. Maybe thinking too much was a problem here.

“Now for you lot.” Frisk growled bringing everyone’s attention back to them just in time to see their eyes flash red. Several members of the order tried to go around the teenager, but they just step forward to block any and all pathways. Frisk was fast. “You all wanted a fight, so fine. I’ll give you one.” With that their eyes flashed red once more and stayed that way before Chara pulled out a knife and lunged.
