Chapter 10
Finally it was Halloween and the first trip to Hogsmeade. The first visit was to Honeydukes where Luna got Fizzing Whizzbees, and Chocolate Frogs while Daphne got Pumpkin Pasties and some Chocolate Frogs of her own while sweets were not compatible with Speedwing and Lightscale's new diets, something they learned the hard way over the summer break, so they spent their time fluttering around the shop, taking in the sights and watching the others.
Ambrosius Flume, the shopkeeper, stood behind the counter, greeting Daphne and Luna with a smile. "One pack of Fizzing Whizzbees, one pack of Pumpkin Pasties, and two packs of Chocolate Frogs... that'll be one Galleon for the lot."
Daphne handed over the Galleon, nodding. "Here you go."
"Thank you," Ambrosius said, before his gaze shifted to the two fire lizards that had just landed on Luna's head "And would you like to purchase anything for your pets?"
Luna gently petted one of the fire lizards as she answered, "Oh, no. They're fire lizards. We found out over the summer that eating sweets makes them sick."
Ambrosius' eyebrows rose in concern. "Well, that won't do. I'll have to think of something. I'll create a new type of candy that fire lizards can eat. I'll have it ready by the next Hogsmeade weekend."
"I'm sure they'll appreciate it," Daphne said with a smile, as they turned to leave the shop.
The next stop was Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop where Luna got a colorful, eccentric quill while Daphne got a sleek, high-quality quill and Lightscale and Speedwing got some Color changing ink they could use with their tails. Lightscale also got a few roles of parchment to write any notes down on. The next stop was Gladrags Wizardwear where Luna got A pair of enchanted, brightly colored socks with mismatched patterns that change when worn, Daphne got A beautifully tailored, elegant robe in a deep green shade with subtle silver embroidery along the edges, with a subtle charm that makes the fabric shimmer in the light. Lightscale got a water-themed bow in deep ocean blue for her saddle, while Speedwing got a lightning bolt-shaped ribbon in electric blue for hers. The final stop was The Three Broomsticks where Luna and Daphne got Butterbeer, while Speedwing and Lightscale got a small bowl of meat cuts and a shallow bowl of water to share before they head back to Hogwarts.
That night however while sleeping next to Luna's head they were woken up and brought to the Great Hall where they discovered Sirius had tried to get into the Gryffindor Tower, but was not caught.
"Do you mind if we help look for Sirius?" Speedwing asked. "We might be able to get answers. And with our abilities we will be safe."
"Be careful." Luna said as she hugged them both before heading to Daphne who had brought their bags into the corner of the Great Hall. Unfortunately while looking they did not find him though they did pass over a big black dog, and an orange half kneazle that were cuddled together in an alcove right before the statue of the one eyed witch.
