Chapter 11
School carried on and eventually it was December 18, and the next Hogsmeade visit so the group of four were making their way to Hogsmeade to return to Honeydukes. Before they could however they noticed that Fred and George were ducking into a room.
"Shoot. They must be up to something." Daphne said still remembering the last time they pranked the entire Slytherin House.
"We'll check." Speedwing said as they went down to their smallest size and teleported into the room after them.
Inside they discovered the Twins were taking out a piece of old Parchment.
"I solemnly swear I am up to no good." The twin on the left said with his wand on the parchment, and to their surprise a map of the school appeared filled with the names and locations of everyone. "Now let's make sure we are alone."
"No!" Lightscale said in fire lizard but too far away for the twins to hear them at their size before she teleported to the edge of the map grabbed it and teleported away before the Weasley twins noticed her.
"What the!" The weasley's shouted looking around for the map as Lightscale and Speedwing teleported back to Luna and Daphne.
"Let's go." Lightscale said putting the map in Luna's bag. "We don't want to be here when they leave the room looking for this."
"Right." Daphne said as they left the castle.
"What made you so worried that you stole this?" Speedwing asked as they rode the carriage to Hogsmeade, and showed Luna and Daphne the map.
"This map shows the locations and names of everyone on it. Lightscale said. "If it shows our true names then they would know about us, and you know the Weasley's think we are evil."
"We'll have to check the name when we get back to Hogwarts." Daphne said getting nods from the other three.
"Hopefully it uses your current names since those are the names on the paperwork that says you are my familiars." Luna said.
"We can only hope." Speedwing said as they arrived in Hogsmeade and went to Honeydukes.
"Ah, hello there," Ambrosius Flume said, placing a container on the counter. "Welcome back. Last time, you mentioned your pet fire-lizards couldn't eat sweets, so I researched Fire Lizards before creating this new candy for them. I named it 'Salmon Snaps.'"
He opened the container to reveal bite-sized, salmon-flavored treats shaped like tiny fish. "These are made from high-quality salmon, blended with a touch of sea salt and a hint of dill, then carefully baked to preserve their natural flavors. The result is a savory snack that provides the protein and nutrients your fire-lizards need, without any added sugars or artificial ingredients. I hope they enjoy them!"
"These are so good." Speedwing and Lightscale cheered after trying them.
"Looks like they enjoyed them." Luna smiled as she watched them eat.
"How much do we owe you?" Daphne asked.
"Nothing." Ambrosius said. "This candy was made for them so the first bowl is free."
"Thanks." Luna said before they headed out and split up to do their Christmas shopping.
A few hours later they returned to the castle and checked the map before breathing a sigh of relief when they saw that the names on the map were Lightscale and Speedwing.
"That was a close one." Daphne sighed. "Now you told us how to activate the map but how do we deactivate it?"
"I've heard the Weasley Twins say Mischief Managed when they finish a prank." Luna said thinking. "If they swear they are up to no good when activating the map maybe that would deactivate it?"
"Worth a try." Daphne said trying and seeing that yes it worked. "Here you should have this Luna. You can use it to help avoid bullies."
"We should share it." Luna said instead. "Both of us have problems with others. Especially since we are the only ones that believe Harry Potter is innocent."
"And we are very grateful for that." Lightscale said as Speedwing blushed before pausing. "Do you think this map would show Sirius?"
"Only when he is in the castle." Speedwing said. "We know he isn't right now."
"Then next time he sneaks in we can find him with this map." Daphne said as they headed to dinner.
