Chapter 7
The next day, Luna, Lightscale, and Speedwing met up with Daphne in an empty compartment, about an hour before the train left, and spent the rest of that time, as well as most of the trip itself catching up with each other, until the train itself came to a halt.
"What is going on?" Daphne asked.
"Something's boarding." Lina said looking out the window before backing up as it froze.
Suddenly all of them felt horrible, and depressed, like they would never be happy again. Luckily, Speedwing and Lightscale's new Fire lizard instincts recognized it as a mental attack, and turns out they were now natural occlumens, allowing them to easily recover. Just in time for two creatures called dementors to enter the room. Suddenly they felt something break on Luna's end of the imprint, and they were suddenly forced to relive a crystal clear version of Luna's worst memory, the memory of her mother's death with her and in first person. After it finished, it started to repeat, and they refused to allow Luna to go through that again, and...
"ENOUGH!" They telepathed to the cabin, before growing bigger, but still small enough to fit in the cabin. Lightscale used her water powers to trap the dementors in a sphere of water, before Speedwing blasted it with Lightning, the water conducted the lightning directly to the dementors, and vaporizing them, leaving only ashes floating in the spheres of water, which Lightscale tossed out the window leaving no trace of the dementors.
"Are you two okay?" They telepathed to Luna and Daphne, as they projected positive emotions to them to counteract the negative ones caused by dementors.
"I'm fine." Luna said hugging them. "Thank you for saving us."
"Same here." Daphne said joining the hug. "You know, we can hear you two now. I'm glad, I was expecting Luna to be able to eventually, but I wasn't expecting I would be able to as well."
"We can talk to who we have a strong connection too, once the ability is unlocked. The imprint is the strongest, but you are our close friend too." Lightscale said. "And those creatures were the last push needed to unlock the ability in us."
"You're my friends too." Daphne said, "Though why does your voices sound so familiar?"
Lightscale and Speedwing looked at each and sighed.
"You deserve to know." Speedwing said to Luna and Daphne.
"Especially since the two of you were the only ones on our side." Lightscale added, to their confusion.
"It is time for you two to learn the truth about us." They said together.
