Everything about her was a lie
Everything about her was a lie her hair, her clothes, her face, her intelligence. Lily got up every morning before Marlene and Mary so that she could put on muggle makeup to cover her freckles. She wore her uniform all the time even on Hogsmead weekends because she got bullied in first year because of her muggle clothing. She straightened her hair every morning so that so that it wasn't wavy and frizzy. Lily was fake, a lie. It was not real, none of it.
Lily was a lie but she was perfect. A perfect lie. She had straight A's because she was naturally gifted. A lie, she was a muggle born, she had to claw her way up to the top, spending every waking minute to make sure that she understood everything better than everyone else. Lily was pretty. Again a lie she made herself up every morning. Lily had the perfect boyfriend, James Potter. He was smart if not as hard working as her, he was rich, he was a pure blood and he was crazy about her. Lily hardly needed to put anything into her relationship Potter kept it up all by himself. Lily hated Potter. Lily loved James. He was like a little puppy dog. He hardly noticed or cared that Lily was tired all the time.
Keeping up the lie was so much more work than she had thought and it was too much for her. Lily had decided in third year when she had been bullied for two years and she was tired that she needed to change something. Lily cut of Snape after he called her a mud-blood and she made friends with Marlene and Mary.
It was not that hard to figure out what she needed to do to get to the top but it was a lot of effort to keep it up. Mary and Marlene were good friends but Lily was so hard most of the time she hardly had any time to appreciate them.
There was only one blip in Lily's perfect lie. That blip came in the form of a bubbly blonde girl. A Ravenclaw, a weird and wonderful person. She was called Pandora Lovegood.
Lily was enamoured with Pandora. Lily was jealous of Pandora. She was free and she didn't care about what anyone thought. She was strange and interesting and she didn't care what anyone thought about ever. Pandora was her partner in muggle studies, she asked Lily so many questions about muggles and her family and she the nicest person Lily had ever met. The day Lily met Pandora was the best day of her life.
