THE SPECIAL ONE
“If that old geezer won’t shut up, I might send him to Azkaban! He always gives me a headache!” Merope rubs her temples.
“Him again? You should do that, and maybe you pay someone to beat the shit out of him.” Thomas was scrolling through his phone.
“Justice this, justice that! It’s so annoying every time there’s a meeting.” She continues her outburst.
“He hasn’t moved on about what happened to his friend?” He chuckled darkly.
“He should be thankful that his friend came back alive.” She smirked.
“Though he lost an eye and leg, at least he’s breathing.” Both of them laughed.
“We are here master and mistress,” Barty said and turned off the car engine.
“Good grip! I’d rather play with my son than deal with my job.” Barty opened the door for them and they walked into their mansion.
“Where’s my baby?” The maidservants took off her master's coats.
“His at the garden with the young master and the other servants,” she answered.
Both of them went straight to the garden to see their precious son and of course, Tom. They heard a child’s laughter, and it was their son, well Tom doesn’t laugh unless he did something.
“Did you hear that, dear?” Merope asked excitedly.
“Looks like someone’s enjoying,” when they arrived at their destination, the first thing they saw was some of their servants were there playing with their son. They were running around the fields, and it was a lovely sight to see their precious son having fun as if it was the first time in his life, he was happy. Their sweet child looked in their direction and smiled happily at both of them.
“Mama! Papa!” He ran towards them excitedly. “Where have you been?” He cutely tilts his head, his papa picks him up, and both of them kiss his cheeks that give him a giggle.
“My cute baby,” she cups his small face. “We have to go to work we’re so sorry, precious.” Thomas continues.
“Oh,” he paused, “I’m sorry Mama, Papa, I didn’t know.”
“My sweet darling, It’s alright we just forgot to tell you but don’t worry, we’ll tell you beforehand.”
Harry nodded shyly, and then Tom stood in front of them and looked at them blankly.
“Now, I think I bought you something. Let’s go back inside then.”
******************************************************************
“What’s with you?” Her mother asked him.
“I just went to that filth’s house,” he made a disgusted expression “its suits them right.”
“Why would you step in there?” Thomas asked. Tom took his tablet and showed his parents the pictures he took while he was in there.
“I took some evidence in there that might help us,” he sneers, remembering how those pigs treat his beloved.
They look at the pictures with rage. How dare these vile creatures to treat their sweet child like that? There will be hell to pay the price.
“Should we kill them instead? I mean they’re not important anyway, and no one will bother to look for them.” Merope suggests darkly.
“Ah, we should give them painful deaths.” He gave a deathly promise.
“Calm down, will you?” Tom paused for a moment and then continued, “If we kill them right away, that would mean they would get away for what they have done to him.”
“I think torture would be the best option,” Ella suggested as she puts her master's drinks on the table. “You know everyday torture until they begged for death, but oh! You wouldn’t give it to them.” She happily suggested.
“Thank you for that wonderful suggestion, Ella,” She squeaks with happiness at the praise of her mistress.
“Make their pathetic lives miserable,” Thomas said.
The three of them smirks evilly, while Ella stares at them with admiration. She can’t help but feel excited, the way her masters want to murder someone to save others who needed help. She still remembers when she was five or so, they rescued her from her abusive stepfather. They bathed her, fed her, and most importantly, they gave her a family. Their masters may not be saints, but they are amiable and treat them equally. All of them here were saved by the Riddles.
On the other hand, Harry was sitting on his big brother Barty’s lap while reading him a storybook that his Mama and Papa had bought for him. Distract him from the murderous aura around the room.
Harry looked at them, and they were smiling, but something’s was off, it was somehow similar to his relatives whenever they want to hurt him, especially his uncle. He got a bit scared at the sight, maybe they’re not nice at all? Or, everything was acting like a normal adult does, just to keep their reputation like his aunt? Maybe he shouldn’t assume that someone would be nice to him after all? Maybe they’re waiting for the right time to hurt him just like his relatives do.
Thomas looked at his sweet child, and he was staring at them in fear. Oh dear, they must somehow slip their murderous smile, and that won’t do.
“Come here, darling,” he waved his hand, and his child was reluctantly walking towards them. Merope held her baby on her lap and combed his hair gently.
“Is there’s something wrong, darling?” Thomas gently rubs his cheek with his thumb.
Harry shook his head and looked down at the floor. He was ashamed that he thought they would hurt him. The way his Mama and Papa gentle hands touch him like no one else does every time he's scared, the way they speak to him is always soothing, and there was no anger lingers in their voices.
Thomas looks at his wife and looks back to the sweet child, “Dear child, would you like to stay here and become our family?”
Harry perks up and looks at his Papa in the eyes, “C-can I? For real?” oh, how he hopes.
“YES! I mean, why not sweetie?” Merope hugs him tightly.
“R-really?” He almost cries, but he doesn’t want to, he doesn’t want them to think that he was weak like his cousin would bully him every time. “I promise I won’t do anything that would cause trouble.”
He was overjoyed to hear that they asked him to stay here! Isn’t that wonderful? He can’t stop smiling, and his heart keeps beating fast and he starts to twist his hands. And they asked if he wanted to be part of the family too! The people in the room take a back at the sweet child's words. His relatives should pray for their pitiful lives from now on.
“Why ever you think of that? Causing trouble? Who told you such?” Tom can’t contain his anger, ‘those filthy creatures dared to put such words to his little love, and there will be no mercy.’
Harry lowered his head again, he thought Tom was angry, but not at him. “N-nothing, it doesn’t matter.” He pulled a smile on his little lips, and he was happy that Tom felt that way.
“Darling, look at Papa,” as Thomas cupped his child’s cheeks, “you are special. Never doubt yourself, okay?”
“You’re not causing trouble, sweetie. You are special just like the rest of us.” Merope placed her head on top of him.
Tom grabbed both of his hands, “You’re special and I love you for that.” Tom buried his face on his love’s lap.
“Say it, little Harry,” His big sister Ella encourages him, “say that you’re special!” she clapped in glee.
“Um …” he looks at his Papa and gave him a warm smile. “Say it, baby, Mama wants to hear it.” She kissed him.
“I’m special?” he nervously said in a whispered voice.
“Louder love, I can’t hear it.” Tom was still face down on his lap.
“I’m special.”
“Louder darling, if possible you need to shout so that the whole world knows how special you are.” His Papa told him.
“I’M SPECIAL!” All of them gave him a round of applause, telling him that they are proud of him.
“That’s it, little Harry! You’re special! Big sister Ella is so proud of you.” Barty had to keep Ella calm down before she would burst into tears like a baby.
At night when his Mama and Papa had tucked him in his now bed. Read him some stories and give him a good night kiss. He was sure he would have a good night's sleep. Later, when his Mama and Papa had gone, he took his favorite book that was hidden under his pillow and jumped out of bed, and ran to his big window. Looking at the big bright star above that was shining throughout the night. He held the book to his chest and closed his eyes.
How he wished he could see his fairy godmother. If he ever sees her, he would wish her to stay with his Mama, Papa, Tom, and everyone in this house. Is that too much to ask? If he did, would he be selfish? While he was busy making a wish to the stars, someone had entered his room silently walking towards him then hugged him from behind.
“Hush, my love, it’s just I,” he turns him around to have a face-to-face with his love, “Why aren’t you sleeping yet? Do you have nightmares?”
Harry shakes his head, “I’m making a wish from that big star,” he pointed at the star outside his window.
Tom pursed his lips, “What did you wish for?” he gently grabbed his chin to look up to him.
“Shhh, Tom I can’t tell you,” Harry whispered to him, “Or else my wish won’t come true.”
“My most beloved,” Tom put his forehead to his “You don’t have to worry about that. I’ll make sure it would come true no matter what.”
Harry smiled at him, “Oh, Tom thank you,” Harry kissed his cheek like how his Mama and Papa would do. “I love you.”
Tom’s heart skips a beat, and he almost faint at his little beloved’s words. He was about to reply, but the little minx beat him.
“You are a good big brother, Tom. When I grow up, I want to be like you!” He said happily.
Tom looks at him blankly.
“Tom, you okay?” He cutely tilts his head.
Tom thought when he was younger. That he didn’t have a heart, but now he knew he had one. He can feel it shattered into pieces.
