Nick Fury
“Maybe we should not tell Fury? Just a thought, I mean its not life-threatening. Loki was mind controlled after all and Harry’s just a kid guys and if he’s here with us, we can watch over him if he’s plotting something.” Bruce spoke up in defence of Loki for once.
“Fury’s not gonna like us keeping him in the dark especially about Loki here.” Natasha points out.
“Nat’s right, Fury will want the details about this from us. We’re supposed to report this back to him.” Clint chimes in, he does not want to be on Fury’s bad side.
They sat in silence contemplating if they should tell Fury or not. Fury might want to Loki up considering the recent even he’s not going to let Loki walk freely anywhere.
“We won’t stay here for long. We’ll be gone as soon as possible.” Loki walks over to Thor to take back his son who was still playing with Thor’s hair and whine quietly after being pulled away from his Uncle Thor. Thor then held his tiny hands in order to appease him.
“Will you come back to Asgard with me brother?”
“No, Asgard is not my home, was never my home as I was taken from Jotunheim. I will never step foot in Asgard, not while Odin is there.” He spats, still feeling furious at the old man.
“Okay but we still need to report this in whether you stay or not.” Clint said once again and obviously Loki is opposed to the idea not wanting Nick Fury to know about him or his child.
“Fine. But leave Harry out of this. I do not want to drag my child into my mess.” He pats Harry’s head softly.
Before Tony could add in his own opinion, Fury walks in along with Pepper and Agent Coulson. The one man they wanted to avoid, especially today.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here.” Fury stares directly at Loki who shields Harry away from his gaze and Thor steps in front of them both, hammer in hand. Everyone else stood up as soon as Fury arrives, Phil was conversing briefly with Pepper before noticing what is going on.
“Pep? What are you doing here and why did you let them in? No wait, Jarvis why did you not inform me?” Tony grumbles because things just got complicated and Jarvis thought it would be needless to inform him while Pepper was accompanying them. Loki looks like he’s seconds away from running with Harry and it doesn’t help that Fury was intently watching him.
“There better be a good ass explanation why the hell is the person who was supposed to be locked up in Asgard is here and why did none of you care to inform me. Romanov, Barton what the fuck is going on?” Fury was glaring at Natasha and Clint who stares back at him but staying silent not knowing what to say.
“First of all language! There’s a kid here for goodness sake Fury and also Captain America.” Steve kicked Tony lightly while others hold their laughter in. Fury however was not amused.
“Why don’t we uh sit down for this maybe?” Phil tries to ease the mood but Fury was having none of that.
“Thor said he was mind-controlled and his mind has already been healed and he already gain his own control back. Evidently, it was not his fault for what happen, he got manipulated just as much as Barton was. He’s not the bad guy here Nick.” Steve stood up to Loki’s defence and got a nod from Thor for backing up his brother. It was true, it’s not Loki’s fault, he was blindly driven by anger and that anger made him see things in the wrong way.
“I do not mean harm to you or to others, I had nowhere to go and my child was severely sick. There’s nothing I can do and no one I can trust. They were my last option. I will not stay here for long, I can leave right now if it means that much to you.” Loki starts to slowly panic thinking about Harry’s safety, he can not put him in harm’s way and no one shall touch a single hair on his head wrongly. If worst comes to worst, he’ll have to fight his way out. Bruce was close to protesting.
Fury was just going to do a simple visit, informing them of a new mission, something concerning Hydra. There was no one he could trust, after all it wasn’t in his nature to trust people easily. He was going to sugarcoat the mission but what he did not expect was to find their past problem, Loki the trickster God with the Avengers. He was taken aback when Loki said “my child” the first on his mind was ‘not another one.’
The air was still tense and the silence grew louder. In the end Nick sigh and let Romanov and Barton explain to him. It’s too early for this. Pepper, Phil and Tony engaged in a conversation among themselves or it was Tony quarrelling with Pepper while Phil watched. The others fill in parts that the two agents might’ve missed, Thor along with Loki stood a few feet away from the rest, who was still holding Harry and hiding him from Fury’s sight afraid of what the other man might do.
Fury sigh deeply, “I’ll leave everything in your hands Captain. If he step one toe out of line, I will throw him back into a cell.”
“Thank you Man of Fury for giving my brother a chance. I will take care of him.” Thor was grateful things went as well as it could be. Loki was just happy he didn’t get arrest again.
“I want patches too…” Harry whispered to Loki although his whispers weren’t really whisper if everyone can hear him. Tony laughed out loud.
“Well I guess it’s time we meet the kid officially.” Loki went wide eyed, protective of his child but Thor ensure him that it was okay as he set Harry on his own two feet.
“My name is Harry and I like your patches a lot. Are you a pirate?” Fury stare at Harry, baffled at what he said and Tony was just snickering whenever Harry said patches.
“I am Nick Fury and no sadly I’m not a pirate kid.”
“Oh, that’s okay I think?”
“Say kid you look really familiar. You said he’s Loki’s?” He felt like something was nagging at his mind to remember something that he may have forgotten.
“Not biologically but yes he’s mine regardless. I saved him from people who did not deserve him.” Loki still felt angry at the Dursleys.
“Hey, Agent Coulson, does he seem familiar to you?” Phil walked to where Fury sits and look at the kid in front of him. Phil dropped on his knees in front of Harry and without realizing it, tears stream down his face. The memories, the haunting images of the person he once knew and thought to have forgotten, came back full force.
“Oh dear, oh dear God.” Everyone’s focused shift to Phil who was staring at Harry in remorse. Fury still did not understand until Phil spoken once again.
“Two years ago in Siberia, we’ve found one of Hydra’s base and sent in our men to investigate. Unfortunately they came across the Winter Soldier and was killed during the mission. Two of them were Agent Potter and Agent Evans. They were some of our best agents and also my close partners. We did a lot of missions together back then but I was already assigned to another mission that day so I wasn’t on the team.” Finding out about their deaths had hit him hard. He attended their funerals when he knew about their relationship and the fact that they left behind a child. They named him Harry, Harry James Potter and that was as far as he knew.
“James Potter and Lily Evans, still young but undeniably our best agents.” Fury said guiltily now as he avoided looking at the kid in front of him. Everyone felt pity for Harry who grew up not knowing his real parents but at least he have Loki now, and also them.
“Now that we’re talking, there’s been a mission regarding Hydra, there was an attack recently involving some higher-up and also one our agents confirmed that they’ve caught sights of the same Winter Soldier as back then.” Fury ruffled Harry’s hair before standing up and clasping his hands behind his back.
“Captain, Barton and Romanov, you’re up. Starks I need your technology to locate a possible Hydra base, Coulson will fill you in with the details once he set himself straight.”
When Fury left along with the trio, Phil excused himself to the bathroom before coming back again and talking with Tony. Pepper decided to approach Loki and talks about Harry, she was suggesting to set them a room of their in the tower, maybe next to Thor if he wants to and Loki agreed to the idea. Harry found what Loki and Pepper were chatting about was boring so he played with his uncle Thor and the lovely green man, Bruce.
The remaining day was spent with the father and son bonding with the other people living in the tower. Tony and of course Pepper, made orders online for Harry’s clothing seeing as what Loki dressed Harry in was not exactly children’s taste. They also decorated their room together and Jarvis taking notes on ordering toys for the child in the house and also made sure to keep a watch on Harry because the tower was not exactly child -proofed, yet.
At night, Thor decided to tell Harry of stories during Loki’s younger days. He would tell him of his adventures and his battles, telling him about his friends back in Asgard and Harry enjoy listening to him till he finally fell asleep in Thor’s arms. He was passed to his dad who took him straight to bed as they lay together. Loki whispered goodnight to his gem as he pressed a soft kiss to his temple.
