Telling Aden
“Hi Aden.” Clarke said, twisting her hands together nervously. Lexa placed them on top of hers and took her hand.
“We have something to tell you.” Lexa announced nervously. Aden put down the pen and paper he was writing on.
“What’s going on?” Aden asked. “Did something happen to Hazel? or Ontari?” Aden and Ontari were quite close, they were definitely not as close as Lexa and him or him and Clarke but still close.
Lexa furrowed her eyebrows, “Why would something happen to Ontari?”
“Nevermind. just… what happened?” Aden asked
Clarke and Lexa shared a smile, “Well. Remember you always said you wanted another sibling? Surprise! You’re getting another one!”
Aden’s mouth dropped open, “No way! Yes!” Aden jumped around and leapt forward to hug his parents. “I thought you said you were waiting until Hazel was one, though.”
Clarke hesitated, “Um, That was kind of an accident. But no matter, it’s a happy one.”
Aden beamed at Lexa and Lexa ruffled his hair.
Clarke kissed the top of his head and whispered, “You’re going to be the best big brother ever. Not only to Hazel but to both of them. I love you, my boy.”
Lexa joined in the hug, “I’m so proud of you. I love you.”
Aden smiled so hard Lexa thought his face might split apart. Clarke felt so happy about the family she had built. Well her and Lexa built. And she never felt happier and prouder of her growing family.
