Raven was sick. She had been for a few days and Ontari had been taking care of everything. So much so that Clarke had to remind her to go eat. “Ontari? How’s Raven?” Clarke asked.
“Feeling better but still sick.” Ontari replied, busy with Dylan.
“Ontari, you know we’re here to help you right? You know we can take care of Dylan for a few hours. Just go rest.” Clarke suggested gently.
“No I’m fine.” Ontari replied.
“You’re very pale. When’s the last time you ate?” Clarke asked, concerned.
Ontari paused, “Uhh like this morning.”
“What did you eat?”
“A piece of bread.” Ontari mumbled, averting her eyes.
“Ontari, we care about you. Please take care of yourself. Lexa and I can take Dylan.”
“Okay.” Ontari agreed and left.

Clarke walked into her and Lexa’s bedroom with Dylan on her hip. “So looks like we got another baby on our hands for tonight.” Clarke said sheepishly.
Lexa laughed. But then she grew serious, “But seriously, is Ontari and Raven okay? I mean I saw Ontari hammering the life out of her hands on a metal dummy the other day. I can also see her headaches getting worse, much worse.”
“Me too.” Clarke replied. “She told me she only ate one piece of bread today.” Clarke sat down on their bed, next to Lexa. She placed Dylan on the bed too. Hazel played peacefully in her crib on the other side of the room. Everything felt into place, for Clarke and Lexa at least.
Lexa gasped, “It’s sundown.”
Clarke nodded. She bit her lip, “I wouldn’t want to worry Raven though…”
Lexa agreed, “Poor Raven, she got pneumonia. I hate that Ontari is reminding me of what I used to do after costia died.”
Clarke sat closer to her wife, and put her hand on Lexa’s, offering silent support. Lexa sighed, “It’s just… no one deserves to feel that way.” Lexa turned to look at Clarke, directly in the eyes, “It’s a terrible feeling. And no one deserves that.”
Clarke brought up something else, “Hey and neither did you.”
Lexa nodded, “I know now.” She leaned in and kissed her wife, feeling completed.
Hazel suddenly shrieked, “Mama!” Lexa chuckled and picked her up.
“Wasn’t Aden her age when you met him?” Clarke asked.
“No. He was a bit older.” Lexa said, “he was always a special kid, even back then.”
“Are you talking about me?” Aden said, suddenly appearing in the doorway.
Clarke jumped. “Gosh, Aden. Don’t scare your old mom.”
Aden cackled, “Don’t forget, Mama’s older than you.” He said ina singsong way.
Clarke shook her head and looked at her son in a fond way. Lexa giggled and stood up to hug her son. She kissed him on the head and ruffled his hair. “Anyway, I came to say good night.”
Clarke stood up too. “Good night my boy, sweet dreams.” She kissed him on the cheek.
After he left, Lexa whispered, “I’m so glad he’s an affectionate boy, even at 13.”
“Me too.” Clarke spoke in a hushed tone.

“This just makes me so mad!” Octavia half screamed at Lincoln after walking back in.
“Hey. Calm down.” Lincoln urged his pregnant wife. “What’s wrong?”
Octavia took a breath, “Ontari is slacking off looking after Raven, my best friend, and their son too. I just saw her go to the training area.”
“You know, maybe Ontari isn’t doing so well either.” Lincoln said softly.
Octavia snapped, “What do you mean? I see no excuse!”
Lincoln muttered, “never mind.”
