Lily didn't think anything of it, sitting next to the lake in the fading light of day, laughing with Anthony. It meant nothing. How could it when her attention was laser focused on the boy by the trees with his friends?
Anthony places a hand on her arm, a soft smile on his face, and Lily's attention is drawn away by sudden movement from the little group of boys.
She watches James's retreating back, catches Sirius's pointed glare at her, and wonders what could have possibly made him leave that way.
She stands and follows.
