“You have got to be joking.”
“Afraid not, Evans. You’re stuck with me for the year.” James leaned in and spoke at a whisper to add, “unless you want to give up your title.”
“Not a chance, Potter. I earned Head Girl.”
“Then I guess you’ll just have to learn to work with me, hmm? Late at night, pouring over prefect reports, working closely together to keep Hogwarts running.” James spoke again as he walked away. “How will you keep from falling in love with me, Evans?”
She swallowed hard. You can’t call it falling if you’ve already fallen.
