She wasn't looking, honest. Or, maybe Lily was watching James as he and Remus rolled around on the floor in some play fight. She definitely wasn't watching the way his arms and shoulders flexed under his t-shirt. Or she was, but at least she was discreet about it.
"See something you like?" Lily rolled her eyes and turned back to her book, pretending she wasn't blushing at being caught. "He's trying to be better for you, you know. He’s damn boring, really. I hope you know what you're doing."
Lily watched Sirius's retreating back, and silently prayed she did too.
