“Evans!”
She paused, telling her friends to go on, and turning to meet him. James was carrying something in a napkin as he approached her, a broad smile on his face.
“I know you had to run out of dinner early, so I brought this for you.” He handed her the napkin.
Lily unwrapped it to reveal the chocolate and caramel sweet inside. “Millionaire shortbread? It’s my-”
“-favorite. I know. I didn’t think you wanted to miss it.”
“Thank you, Potter. This is very kind.”
“I have my moments.” He turned and left her with a lingering smile.
