Oaths
(Hogwarts: Myrtle’s Bathroom –1997)
Harry carefully entered the room with his wand drawn, after hearing some crying in there. He dodged a curse as it came near him.
“Malfoy” Sneered Harry as he took in who cast the curse at him
“Potter, go away” Returned Malfoy as he aimed his wand at Harry
“I know you are up to something and I’m not leaving until you tell me” Returned Harry
“Like I would tell you if I was, Scarface” Sneered Malfoy as Harry raised his wand at Draco and was preparing to cast a spell
“That is enough” Stated a female voice as someone walked in, both of them reluctantly turned to see who it was
“Tracey” Stated Draco
“Is it two on one now, Davis” Returned Harry as he backed up and his wand aimed at her
“Not everyone is out to get you, Potter” Returned Tracey
“Only Death eaters like Malfoy, right?” Retorted Harry
“You think I want to be a Death Eater, Potter” Returned Draco
“Yes” Supplied Harry
“Maybe I did when I was younger and didn’t know any better, but I did to protect my mother. And it is not like I can remove it” Stated Draco
“What if he could?” Interjected Tracey
“How?’ Demanded Draco
“The Dark Lord is a Parselmouth, and so is Potter” Explained Tracey
“No way” Revealed Harry
“Not even if Draco helped you defeat the Dark Lord?” Countered Tracey
“Tracey” Hissed Draco
“You want out, Draco. I know it, you take care of me. Let me help you with this” Pleaded Tracey
“No one can know about us” Retorted Draco
“You two?” Stated Harry surprised
“What? I am not allowed to fall in love, Potter?” Retorted Draco
“I thought it would have been Parkinson” Retorted Harry
“No … “Started Draco
“We are getting off track, Potter would you help Draco if we help you stop the Dark Lord?” asked Tracey as Harry thought for a moment
“Tracey” Hissed Draco
“I am not letting you do this by yourself” admitted Tracey
“Not Daphne too?” asked Harry as he knew that Tracey and Daphne were close but judging by the looks on Tracey’s face that was no longer the case.
“We had a falling out” admitted Tracey awkwardly
“After everything he did, I should trust him” Retorted Harry
“I will take an unbreakable vow, if that is what you want” admitted Draco
“Fine” conceded Harry
“I want us to try to save my mother, she is not marked” admitted Draco
“I want it to be kept between us for right now” Shared Tracey
“Alright, I cannot guarantee that I can remove the Dark mark, but I will give it my best attempt” Stated Harry sighing
“You know how to make an unbreakable vow?” asked Tracey
“I read a book on it, after fourth year” admitted Harry
“The vow then?” asked Tracey as Draco approached him and stood opposite him and clasped Harry’s right arm as Draco moved forward and held her wand where the tip was where their hands were linked
“Will you, Tracey Davis, Help Harry Potter to defeat the dark Lord known as Tom Marvolo Riddle?” asked Harry as a flame issued from Draco’s wand wound its way around their hands like a red wire
“I will” Promised Tracey
“And you will not tell or otherwise show anyone outside of me, and Draco Malfoy what we are planning to do?” asked Harry
“I will” Promised Tracey as the red wire ended and Tracey stepped back
“I want you to word it as I have to try, I can guarantee neither of the things that you want, but I will try my best” admitted Harry
“Alright” Conceded Draco as Draco approached him and stood opposite him and clasped Harry’s right arm as Tracey moved forward and held her wand where the tip was where their hands were linked
“Will you, Draco Malfoy. Help Harry Potter to defeat the dark Lord known as Tom Marvolo Riddle?” asked Harry as a flame issued from Tracey’s wand wound its way around their hands like a red wire
“I will” Promised Draco
“And you will not tell anyone outside of me, and Tracey Davis what we are planning to do?” asked Harry
“I will” Promised Draco
“Will you, Harry Potter. Try to remove the Dark Mark from Draco Malfoy” Asked Draco
“I will” Promised Harry
“And you will try the hardest to rescue Narcissa Malfoy from the Death Eaters?” asked Draco
“I will” Promised Harry as Tracey stepped back
“Now, what is Riddle having you do?” Demanded Harry
“Riddle?” asked Tracey confused
“Tom Marvolo Riddle is Lord Voldemort” Revealed Harry
“He wants me to kill Dumbledore, and fixing a vanishing cabinet that will allow Death eaters into the school” admitted Draco
“Where is the Cabinet?” demanded Harry
“The room on the seventh floor, I can’t just destroy it. It would be suspicious” admitted Draco
“I can stumble across it and destroy it” Offered Harry
“That could work, the main problem is when the term ends. Where will I go?” asked Draco
“I … inherited a place from my Godfather and it is under the Fidelus. If the secret keeper dies, then I can try to recast it” shared Harry
“It takes a powerful wizard to cast the Fidelus” Shared Tracey
“I cast the Patronus charm at thirteen, I think I am fine” Retorted Harry
“We should meet tomorrow night” suggested Tracey
“Same place, same time.” Offered Harry
“Here, after dinner” Stated Draco
“That’s fine” Stated Harry as he departed, leaving Draco and Tracey alone
“You don’t have to get involved” Stated Draco
“I don’t want you to be in this alone, and someone has to keep you and Potter from killing each other until this is over” Stated Tracey
“Thank you” Whispered Draco
“It is no problem” Returned Tracey
(Hogwarts: Gryffindor Common Room)
Harry carefully sneaked into his way into the common room and was almost up the boy staircase when someone called out to him.
“Harry, what are you doing out?” asked Hermione as Harry turned to her
“There was something that I had to take care of” admitted Harry cryptically
“Which was?” asked Hermione impatiently
“I was spying on Malfoy again” admitted Harry
“Harry, he is not up to anything” Tried Hermione
“So, you think, night” admitted Harry as he went up to his room, leaving behind a thoughtful Hermione
(Hogwarts: Main Hall)
Harry had woken up early and managed to sneak to the room of requirements and destroy the vanishing cabinet. He was walking up to the Gryffindor table and took a seat beside Hermione and Ron.
“Hey mate” Stated Ron
“Hey Ron” Stated Harry
“You are up late” Stated Hermione
“He was up and gone before I was” admitted Ron
“There was something that I had to take care of this morning” admitted Harry as he took a piece of toast
“You were out late too last night” Revealed Hermione
“And Malfoy wouldn’t be up to something that early, mate” Stated Ron as Harry debated what to tell them and he had to tell them something so Hermione would let it go and not blow Draco’s cover
“I left the map out their last night, so I had to go get it” Lied Harry
“Then how did you get back?” whispered Hermione
“I guess I got lucky” admitted Harry
