canon divergence to look out for and my writing style
where do i even begin with this
chapter 1 is finally finished so thats good
and i have the outline for the series all planned out so another plus
so let me just say what i need to say
my writing style is, ill publish a chapter incomplete and then update it every so often, this is due to my fluctuating motivation to write
dont worry though i will definetally complete this series no matter how long it takes, so no need to worry about that
anyways canon divergences
magic-
if there was one thing i will always hate is the way magic works in the canon universe and how certain items are never given an explanation as to how they exist
so expect a lot of exposition and headcannons
the golden trio-
im basically going to be giving the golden trio more traits, some good and some bad
also ron will end up well....., lets just say he going to get some much needed love is all
side characters-
some people will get redemtion arcs, others will be humanised and some will be shown as in canon, just expect changes and youll be fine
harry-
harry as a character feels like wasted potential, so im gonna change some stuff about him and push the boundries of his characters to its logical, emotional and spiritual limit
and finally
character bashing-
this is something which seems wonderful on paper, give characters their deserved comeuppance, but everytime i see it i see characters completely blown out of proportion, hermione either being a perfect godess or the embodiment of evil, ron is always evil, ginny is evil, molly is evil, weaslys are evil, dumbledore is evil, mcgongall is a bitch and snape and the slytherins are all just perfect misjudged good people
like seriously, these are intricate characters all compressed to fit one world view, so i will be making sure bashing happens, however nothing will be blown out of proportion
also another point i want to add
the houses-
aside from the first and second books houses are pretty much forgotten, i intend to change that
so expect a deep dive into the houses, especially slytherin
actually heres a pet peeve of mine
slytherins are either completely in canon form or are the best of good boys unfairly prejudiced
i hate that because its basically people saying that the house of cunning and ambition is either good or bad, never in between so grey slytherins
slytherins unfairly judged, slytherins who seek to uphold the status quo set by voldemort, etc, etc
also again the other house will be fleshed out so yeah
