Ashes of the Soul
Summary
Harry Potter was always a survivor. He had been since the first moment he opened his eyes to the world, marked by a scar that he did not choose and trapped in a house that saw him as a monster. He grew up between insults, rejection and violence, learning to harden his soul while slowly breaking inside. When he discovered he was a wizard, he believed magic would save him. Hogwarts seemed like the promise of a home, a place where he wouldn’t be the “freak” or the “unwanted child,” but simply Harry. Yet the truth was crueler: to them, he would never just be Harry. He was the hero, the Saviour, the Boy Who Lived.Hogwarts was no refuge. It was a battlefield disguised as a school, a place where every year was a fight for survival. In his first year, he killed a man and was congratulated instead of comforted. In his second year, he defeated a basilisk, and in his third, he dreamt of freedom only to face a werewolf and dementors.By his fourth year, he was forced to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, where the final task took him to a graveyard. There, he witnessed Cedric Diggory’s death and Voldemort’s return. And Harry knew that this time, his survival would come at an even higher price.
Note
This story contains intense and explicit themes that may be very disturbing for some readers. It will primarily be told from Draco's perspective, occasionally from Harry's and others'.To be honest, I understand that many may feel uncomfortable with these themes. If you choose to continue, I ask that you do so with awareness and an open mind about what you are about to encounter. My intention is to explore the complexity of these characters and their relationships, but if any of this feels too much for you, don't hesitate to stop at any time. Also, English is not my first language.
