Babydoll
Remus was nodding his head slightly to the beat of the music coming from the stereos they had backstage. Peter was sitting beside him on a chair tapping on his phone and chuckling from time to time to whatever was in the phone.
“Stop moving,” Sirius said and took a hold of Remus’ chin with their fingers, the acrylic nails digging to Remus’ face slightly, and sat down on Remus' lap. Sirius had gotten their nails done a couple of days ago. It was nothing new, they liked to have something special on their nails. What was different from normal was that their nails were long this time. It was driving Remus a bit mad everytime he remembered them.
Sirius brought a black liner close to his face and Remus immediately stopped moving. Instead he started tapping his fingers on Sirius’ thighs.
“Is this necessary?” Remus asked the same way he always did before every show. Sirius rolled their eyes and then brought their fingers under Remus’ eyes pulling his eyelid lower a little bit to add the black pencil to his water line. Remus crunched his nose. No matter how many times Sirius did this, it was always as awful.
Sirius leaned back to look at their work and then ran their thumb under Remus’ eye to make the makeup look a bit smudged. Remus blinked his eyes and almost rubbed his eye, but Sirius grabbed his wrist before he could do it.
“Hey, don’t ruin my work,” they yelped and moved Remus’ hand back to their thigh.
“Sorry,” Remus smirked and looked at Sirius’ face with a smile, before their finger almost poked his eyes. “Uh, don’t poke my eye,” Remus complained. Sirius glared at him as they finished the makeup. Sirius stood up and spun around to walk up to the table where they had brought different kinds of hair and makeup products from the dressing room.
“I still don’t get why we don’t just get a makeup artist,” Peter commented from his place. Somewhere between Sirius doing Remus’ makeup Peter had gotten himself a small bag of skittles that he was happily eating.
“Because this is more fun,” Sirius said as they made their way back to Remus with a hair mousse. They run a hand through Remus’ hair, making it look a bit more messy.
“Good thing your hair is always all over the place, so I don’t have to do much,” Sirius joked with a grin. Remus hissed as they pulled on a knot. He has never really learned how to take care of his hair, so his curly hair was pretty much always messy and way too fluffy. Sirius, who had tried to teach him as best as they could, just said that it made him more punk rock. Whatever that meant.
“Oh sorry, baby,” Sirius said as they gently untangled the knot with their fingers and finished Remus’ hair with the mousse. Remus just let them do whatever they wanted.
“He said yes!” James' voice called before any of them could see the man. He ran to the room with his phone in the air. “He said we could perform it. That it’s all cool”
Sirius went to high five James as Remus and Peter stayed sat in their seats. Remus knew everyone in today’s shows would definitely like the surprise they had planned out for them.
“Right, I better change my clothes,” Sirius pointed out and started stripping in the middle of the room, their shirt flying to the floor alongside with the dirty converse Remus was pretty sure where his. And in that matter, too big for Sirius. Peter groaned and pointed towards the door that led to the hall.
“Sirius for the millionth time, we have a dressing room,” he sighed. Sirius was just about to take their trousers down, but turned towards Peter with a challenging look. They raised their eyebrow in question.
“So?” Sirius asked hands on their hips. Remus let out a chuckle and settled back on his chair. He didn’t mind, why would he?
“Darling, he means that you should use it,” Remus said and watched as Sirius narrowed their eyes at him. Then they slowly pulled their trousers down and kicked them off their ankles, turned around and walked through the open door to the hall.
“So dramatic,” Peter muttered.
“Keeps us entertained,” Remus struggled, staring at Sirius’ ass until they disappeared to the dressing room.

Sirius let out a breath as the song came to an end. Sirius smiled as the crowd cheered for them and reached for the bottle of water they had on the side. They took a long sip of the water, listening as the people at the front screamed various things.
“What?” Sirius asked, speaking to the mic, as they threw the bottle back to the floor. They got closer to the edge of the stage crouching down a little to hear the girl better. They looked the girl straight to the eyes and saw how her eyes widened.
Sirius loved interacting with the crowd almost as much as they loved the singing and performing.
The girl shouted louder this time and Sirius tried to concentrate as well as they could to hear her.
They chuckled, “Let’s see all the outfits?” They laughed and turned to the rest of their friends on the stage. It had kind of become a routine in their shows to just quickly go through their outfits. It was fun and a little bit silly, Sirius loved it.
James was grinning as he looked back at them. Peter wiped sweat off his forehead with a small towel he kept next to his drum set and gave them a thumbs up. Remus was moving the wire that went to his bass to the side to make sure he didn’t trip on it.
“C’mon Moony,” Sirius teased and got the crowd cheering for him too. Remus shook his head playfully at first, but then gave a nod.
“Okay, we shall start with James, “ Sirius decided and walked closer to James who put his guitar down. “Okay, let’s see,” Sirius said and motioned James to spin around. “So a nice pair of black slacks. Can’t go wrong with that. Brings out the ass, yeah we see you, Potter,” Sirius sniggered as James turned his back to the crowd. Someone let out a high pitched scream as the screens next to the stage zoomed in.
“They clearly liked that, good for you, good for you,” Sirius said, eyes wide. “A lavender coloured satin button up, which you clearly forgot to button up. And some dress shoes, classic.”
James gave the crowd a bow as Sirius walked to Peter next who also stood up from behind the drums.
“Pete, boy!” Sirius greeted him. “Show us what you got,” Peter, more shyly than James, did a quick spin around.
“Okay, so we have some classic black jeans,” Peter lifted his leg up to the air to show his shoes that had at least one hole on them. “And then the beloved black vans that are pretty much teared, yup, yup”
Peter rolled his eyes, but leaned towards his own microphone, “They’re my lucky shoes”
Sirius nodded their head, approving, “So more reasons to keep them, good job Pete. Then we are rocking some white tank top paired with short-sleeve striped button up. Overall great outfit, right?” Sirius said and turned to the crowd again that cheered. Sirius patted Peter’s back and then jumped over some wires making their way towards Remus. They stopped next to him and gave Remus a sweet smile that made the crowd go more or less crazy.
“Well, well,” Sirius said, looking Remus up and down. Remus rolled his eyes and leaned to speak on his microphone. “Let’s get into it”
“Yeah, yeah,” Sirius said, swatting Remus’ arm. “So a pair of very baggy jeans that probably wouldn’t stay up without a belt,” Remus smirked and lifted the hem of his shirt to show the belt he was wearing.
“Wow, wow, think about the health of the people in here, Remus,” Sirius pretended to scold as people shouted. “Then we have the short sleeve over a white long sleeve thing going on, as always,” Sirius teased. It was kind of Remus' trademark to wear the same outfit to every show.” Today the colour happens to be green, tomorrow maybe blue.”
Remus struggled his shoulders and Sirius grinned. “And then the dirty converse that needs to be painfully cleaned. To get the accessories we have keys hanging from the belt loop,” Sirius said and clinked the keys together. “What are we, like 3000 miles away from home? Also, to point out guys, carrying them around so I don’t have to,” Sirius said with an evil grin and then blew a kiss to Remus as they walked to the centre of stage.
“Moony, would you do the honours and tell what I’m wearing?”
Remus laughed to the mic, “Sure, sure. So a black tennis skirt, I guess? Whatever it is called, I wouldn’t bend down much if it was me,” the crowd screamed again for the millionth time. “Then a grey argyle vest and some shiny Dr. Martens”
“Are those the one’s mom bought you?” James asked and Sirius raised their leg up to show their shoes better.
“Yup, Effie is a badass. She knows what’s up,” Sirius said with a fond smile. “Okay that was it, now is it time for some music?”
The crowd cheered.
-
It was at the end of the show. They only had three songs left. Sirius looked at Remus and raised their eyebrows, Remus gave them a nod. Sirius walked to the edge of the stage and sat down with their legs hanging off the edge. People in front reached their hands out for Sirius, who waved at them with a smile.
“I have a story for you guys,” Sirius announced and ran a hand through their sweaty hair.
“So does anyone here happen to know who Dominic Fike is?” The crowd cheered and Sirius threw their head back with a laugh. Of course the crows knew who he was. Sirius was way too excited for the next song.
“Right, right,” they said and nodded their head. “Well then you guys probably know he got a new EP out just a couple of days ago?”
Sirius bit their lip before smiling widely and hummed the song they were about to play to tease the crowd. “Well I know something you guys don’t know,” they tapped a finger to their chin acting like they were thinking of something. “Or if someone of you do know then you’d been very observant”
“But,” Sirius said and paused. “I happen to know a person who was in the process of making one of the songs in the EP. Who actually happened to have written the song for Dom”
With that James started playing the first notes of the song and the people recognising the song let out a scream. Sirius couldn’t help the grin from forming on their face as they watched the crowd's reaction.
I can't move on, baby doll
Waitin' on calls, flippin' through stations
I'm outclassed and it's outrageous
Remus started and the crowd went even more crazy. It was the first time ever when Sirius wasn’t the one singing the songs in their concerts. Usually the others only did background vocals.
And I'll take it all, baby doll
Whatever's been weighin' you down
Sirius couldn’t help but smile as they watched Remus sing the song, at the same time his long fingers moved smoothly on the neck of the bass. Sirius could tell Remus was feeling a bit shy as he watched the crowd, a shy smile playing on his lips.
Find me on Miami concrete
Lookin' for somebody different
'Cause my daddy was a pimp
My mama had her issues but I miss her anyway
Remus looked down to the ground with a bit of a sad smile after the chorus, but then turned to look at Sirius. They stared at each other as Remus sang the next chorus.
Oh, baby doll
Sirius bit their lip and was the first one to broke the eye contact. Their PR team probably wouldn’t like it if Sirius eyefucked Remus right on the stage. Marlene would probably go furious.
Please don't call me for the wrong reasons
We both know exactly what I'm thinkin'
Weeks pass and I never grow tired
'Cause I never said never and I barely ever lie
Sirius mouthed the words as Remus sang and looked at one of the girls on the front as she was pretty much screaming the words out. She saw them looking at her and stretched her hand out for them. Sirius grinned and jumped down to the floor and went to hold the girl's hand. One of the security guards was on their side in less then a second and tried to put his hand between Sirius and the girl as the girl tried to pull Sirius to her.
I'm on the road to an original place in outer space
I didn't make it up
But you can't find it on a phone or a globe
And I can take you with me if you really wanna go
Oh, baby doll, I can't move on
“It’s okay,” Sirius shouted over the music to the guard who nodded his head and Sirius hugged the girl who was full on crying. Sirius felt other people touching their back and arms as they pulled back.
“Are you okay, love?” Sirius asked the girl who rubbed her wet cheeks and nodded her head.
“I love you!” The girl said and Sirius let out a laugh as they pulled back to go back to the stage.
“Love you!” They shouted and waved to the others as they turned. The song was coming to an end with only one cycle left and then stopped suddenly like it did in the original song. The crowd shouted and Sirius turned to look at them, the security guard next to them again.
“You good there mate?” James asked to the mic as Sirius tried to climb back to the stage. Remus came to stand on the edge and gripped Sirius' arm, pulling them smoothly back to the stage.
”Ah, my hero,” Sirius said jokingly to Remus before they went to get their mic from the floor where they had left it before going to the crowd.
“Sorry for anyone I just flashed,” Sirius said with wide eyes. ”But hey, bet you didn’t expect that from Mr. Lupin here”
Sirius said and smirked at Remus who was back on in his place with the bass, cheeks slightly pink as someone whistled from the crowd.
”Is there a thing he can’t do,” Sirius said and pressed their hand on their chest dramatically.
“The laundry,” Peter said to his mic.
“Cook,” James pointed out.
“I know how to cook!” Remus defended.
“And that is a great way to move to the next song!”
-
Remus stepped out through the backdoor that led outside and to their tour bus.
“Remus!” a group of girls called for him. There were always people waiting for them after the show. Sometimes more than other times.
Remus liked their fans and was grateful for everything they’d done to them. They are the reason the four of them could play shows all over the world. But Remus was a rather shy guy. He talked with the fans in moments like these, but always felt a bit shy and awkward doing it.
Remus smiled slightly and walked up to them. There were at least 60 people behind the gate the security had put up.
“Hi, guys,” he said and watched as more people got their phones out as he approached them.
“Oh my god Remus, the song,” One of the girls said and Remus smiled at her and glanced to the side. He didn’t know where the others were and why they were taking so long.
“Yeah it’s a cool song, I really like what Dom did with it”
“Did you actually write it?” Another girl asked. It was funny because it was one of his old ones. It was still actually kind of a mystery to Remus how he had ended up in the studio with Dominic Fike and all the other people he worked with. They’d been going through some lyrics, messing around and suddenly Remus had remembered the one song he had written almost two years ago. Dominic ended up really liking it and Remus offered him to take it, change the lyrics, do whatever he wanted to do with it. He had ended up keeping the lyrics the same Remus had written them and then built everything around it.
And then Remus had gotten the dem0 to his mail from Dominic a week or so later.
“Yeah I did, actually like a while ago,” Remus said and saw how two girls on the side started whispering to each other until another one of them turned to him.
“Who is it about?” She asked with a glint in her eyes. Remus knows their fans and the internet are hungry for any type of content they could get off him and Sirius. Just a small glance at each other could be talked about on twitter for hours. Sirius was more open to tease the hungry people with small gestures and words. Remus didn’t mind it, but liked to be more subtle with it.
“Well, it’s just a song, but maybe my main thought with it was having a person who you can’t stop thinking about. To the point where it’s like almost annoying, but you just can’t help it,” Remus cracked a smile. “And in all honestly really don’t want to either, you know?”
He watched as the girls looked at him in awe and decided to add fuel to the fire. “Not too hard to guess who it is about”
“Sirius!” someone from the side shouted and Remus, along with everybody else, turned to look at the building. Sirius slipped out of the door and went to greet the people on the other side, taking pictures with them and hugging them before they turned to look at Remus and with fast steps made their way over to him.
They were wearing a pair of grey joggers and a flannel shirt that Remus recognised to be his along with the stolen pair of converse also from Remus' closet. Half of the time Sirius didn’t wear their own clothes, but preferred to steal pieces of clothing from all three of them.
“Hello, lover,” Sirius said and wrapped their arm around Remus’ middle. Remus raised his eyebrow at them and looked Sirius up and down.
“Didn’t decide to wear any of your own clothes today?”
Sirius looked down at themselve too and struggled, “These joggers are- no wait I think these are Wormy’s,” they said and topped it with a grin until they turned to the fans who had all been looking at the two of them in complete silence. Remus saw one of the girls trying to film them subtly. Remus looked straight to the camera and wiggled his eyebrows jokingly.
“Hey, gorgeous people. Did you enjoy the show?”
Pretty much all of them started talking on top of each other and Sirius just nodded their head listening to another person after another.
They chatted with the people outside for a bit. James and Peter got outside too after a while and after many photos and hugs the four of them thanked all of the fans for coming to see them and made their way to their bus.
James closed the bus' door and greeted their driver who was already there waiting for them.
Remus groaned as he flopped down on the small sofa and closed his eyes. He didn’t have much time to relax before Sirius squeezed themselves on the sofa too and pressed on to Remus’ side, their head resting on his chest. Remus wrapped his hand around them and turned to see what they were doing on their phone.
Sirius was scrolling through twitter already looking at the many videos of Remus singing the song.
“‘Having a person who you can’t stop thinking about. To the point where it’s like almost annoying, but you just can’t help it and in all honestly really don’t want to either, you know?’ Remus Lupin said about the song “Babydoll” and topped it with ‘Not too hard to guess who it is about’ after their today’s show in Philadelphia,” Sirius read from their phone and then turned to look at him with an surprised expression.
“Baby!” they said and pressed their nose to Remus’ cheek. Remus let out a laugh and looked at James on the other sofa who was looking at the two of them with an amused smile.
“Yeah, I had to let the world know how I feel about James,” Remus said and grinned as Sirius pushed away from him and slapped his chest. They crossed their arms over their chest with a pout.
“Aw, mate!” James said fully in on the joke and got up to hug Remus who hugged him right back, swinging them from side to side.
Sirius huffed and was about to get up when Remus let go of James and pulled Sirius right on top of him. He squeezed Sirius to him and pressed kisses all over their face.
“It was a joke, darling,” Remus muttered, but Sirius didn’t give in, still keeping the pout in their face.
“I love you and I love to see people sing along to songs I’ve written about you,” he muttered to Sirius ear and felt how Sirius melted on to him. Sirius wrapped their arms around Remus and rested their head on his chest, eyes closed. Remus closed his eyes too, not even trying to fight the sleep as he pressed his nose to Sirius’ hair.
