Livestream
The camera shook and some cursing could be heard before Sirius Black’s face came into the view.
“Why doesn’t this fucking thing- oh wait. Hello guys!” he said and waved to the camera. The live chat filled with people saying hi back to him.
“Yes hello, hi, good evening, night, morning whatever is the time for you”, he said while clicking on the screen. He couldn’t get this random box on his laptop's screen to go away. “Just a second guys”, he murmured. “There’s a reason why James is the ones who does this”
Then he pressed something and the box went away, “Perfect!” he said and tilted the laptop so the angle was better for where he was sitting in his four post bed.
“I’m sorry guys if the quality is shitty, James left our web camera home”, he said and wiped the screen with the sleeve of his sweater. “It’s good”, he read from the comments. “Well okay, great!” He was quiet for a second just reading the comments and looking as the viewer's number grew.
“Am I alone, yes at the moment. Pete is playing chess, Remus went to see if he could still get some tea from the dining hall and James is… James well he was in the common room”, he smiles sheepishly to the camera. James had stayed in the common room with Marlene and Mary when Sirius had gone back to their dorm and knowing his best friend, he probably wasn’t there anymore.
“It feels weird to film alone or well not film, whatever”, he chuckled. “Like don’t get me wrong I don’t have a problem with talking to myself”, that’s sus someone commented, Sirius pointed his finger to the camera. “Excuse me yourmomsbestfriend, you’re sus with that username. I really hope you’re not my mom’s best friend, or I feel very bad for you”
He chuckled again and scrolled through the comments, he was waiting for some of his friends to get back to the dorm. They hadn’t planned to go live on their youtube channel, but he had felt bored alone in the dorm trying to do his homework.
“Um there’s no plan with this live stream, I was just bored. Maybe you could ask some questions and then we can answer them? When someone else gets here, I mean”, he said and rolled his eyes. Getting some tea couldn’t take that long right?
“When will you release a new video, soon guys I promise. We filmed one like a week ago, but our editor Mr. Lupin is too busy being a good student so it’s taking a little bit longer.. Yes Sarah I know I should study some too, but I’m lazy as fuck”
They have some exams in a week before their christmas break which Sirius had not bothered to start studying yet. “But you know I’m already the disappointment of the family so”
“Why, you ask. Daniel, you must be new here. My parents couldn’t take the load of queerness that came with me so they decided to disown me”, he was quiet for a moment trying so very hard to not laugh. The live chat went crazy, some people horrified, some saying they’re sorry, the people who have heard his story before finding all this funny.
“Oh my, this is the reason I shouldn’t go live alone”, he said through laughter the same time the dorm door opened.
“I swear to fucking god getting some fucking tea shouldn’t be that fucking hard. I will get my own fucking kettle here or some shit I don’t even fucking care anymore at this point”, Remus said as he purseted to the room, very much unaware of the livestream that was going on. Sirius turned to look at him and then back to the laptop.
“Remus Lupin everyone”, he said and leaned to the side so Remus could be seen behind his back from where he was standing in the middle of the room. Remus’ head whipped around to stare at him.
“Holy fucking shit, Siri. You scared me”, he said and pressed his other hand, that wasn’t holding the cup, to his chest. “What are you doing?”
“And then you guys say I cuss too much. Darling this is a livestream”, he informed and tapped the bed for Remus to sit next to him. Remus got closer and sat next to Sirius on the narrow bed, they were pressed to each other from thigh to shoulder.
“Yes I can see, but why?” he asked and then waved to the camera. “Hey, guys. Oh did over thousand people just see me cuss over tea”
Sirius squinted at the screen. There were 1293 people watching them live right now. “Yup, what was the problem?” he asked and took the cup from Remus hand to take a sip, but Remus quickly took it back.
“I think the fuck not, I shed tears and blood for this one cup”, he said and took a sip himself. “So I got to the dining hall, right? Usually the kettle is there but I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I started looking for it”, he explained looking at the laptop and to Sirius in turns. “Then Marie, one of the chefs”, he said to the people in the livestream. “Came out of fucking nowhere and started yelling at me. And I told her I just wanted some tea and then had to literally bicker with her for ten minutes until she brought the kettle back to it place from the kitchen”
Sirius was smiling out of amusement and rested his head on Remus' shoulder. “So you fought with Marie?”
“Pretty much”, Remus said and ran a hand through Sirius’ hair.
“Over a kettle?”
“I wanted my tea, don’t question it”, Sirius turned to look at laptop reading some of the comments. “People want to know when you’re ready with editing our video”
Remus groaned, “Soon guys, I promise. It’s a long one and we have exams coming up”, he explained. “And I don’t want to do it in a hurry or otherwise it will be a shitty one”
The comment section filled with people telling Remus it’s okay and to take his time.
“Could I get a sip of your tea, Moony?” Sirius asked, giving Remus his best puppy eyes.
“No”
“Moony”, Sirius whined and pressed his nose under Remus’ jaw.
“This is too homosexual for me, well Robin you can kindly fuck off then”, Remus read and leaned forward to the laptop, Sirius just chuckled. He handed the mug to Sirius so he could use the keyboard. “One sip, okay?” Remus said with his focus on the screen. Sirius smirked and wiggled his eyebrows to the laptop over the rim of the mug as he, for sure, took more than just a sip.
“There, goodbye Robin”, Remus said and kicked them out of the livestream. He leaned back again and slipped his arm around Sirius's waist for him to lean into his side. He took the now half empty cup back and looked inside it and then to Sirius with an unimpressed look.
“I think we have a different idea of a sip, hmm?”
Sirius grinned to the camera, “So guys, did you have any questions? I think we should answer some and then find James and Peter so the four of us can answer some of them too.”
Remus nodded and reached down to put his cup to the floor pulling Sirius with him as his arm were still around him. “Sounds good, love”
“Daniel again! You clearly are new here”, Sirius said and fake mockingly shook his head. “Is anyone else new here?”
Comments saying me and yes appeared on the chat. “Oh wow okay”, Sirius said, scrolling through the comments. “Well first off all hi, welcome. There’s a video on our front page called ‘Welcome’. It's pretty old already, things have changed. We should probably make a new one soon”, he looked at Remus who nodded his head.
“Anyways”, Remus said, now taking the lead. “Shortly told we are The Marauders, yes we are aware of how stupid the name is, we were eleven when we came up with it so bear with us”
“I think it’s cool”, Sirius commented.
“We are a group of four boys, we go to a boarding school in Scotland called Hogwarts. Now if you know our channel, you also know that we are known for the pranks we pull on our schoolmates and sometimes teachers. And basically we made this channel to film all the stupid and less stupid things we do here. Show the process of the pranks and well other things too”
“First this all was just something we did for ourselves, for fun. But then we grew followers and now there’s more than a million of you! And that’s fucking insane!” Sirius said, waving his hands around as he spoke.
“Tell more about you guys, like who are the Marauders”, Remus read. “Well okay Rosiecosie47. I’m Remus Lupin, but I think Sirius already mentioned that. I’m sixteen and well, I’m from Wales for everyone who was trying to guess where my accent is from. That’s probably pretty much it”
“Great job, Moony”, Sirius said. “Hello I’m Sirius Black, I’m seventeen and from London”
“Yeah I think everyone guessed from that poshboy accent”, Remus teased.
“Wa ya sa mate?” Sirius said and tried to mock Remus' accent, but wrinkled his own nose. “That was bad wasn’t it?”
“Yeah it was terrible. I don’t even say mate, James does.”
“Just felt like something I could put there”, Sirius said and struggled. “And if you guys couldn’t already tell me and Remus are in a”, he cleared his throat. “very serious relationship”
Remus rolled his eyes, “Sadly”, Sirius looked at him with a pout on his face. “I’m joking!”
“You better”, he muttered and earned a kiss to his temple which made him smile again.
“Omg I have followed you guys for a year and didn’t know, is it recent? Monica asks”, Remus said. “It’s been three years in…” he glanced at Sirius who raised his eyebrow. “Go on, Lupin”
“April? Yes April, sorry, love. So no, I wouldn't call it recent”
The comment section filled out with comments and questions and Sirius tried to scroll through them to keep up, “Okay wow comments are coming up so fast I can’t read them. Maybe we should sometime do a Q&A video? It really isn’t something we usually do, but that could be fun”
“And easier to edit”, Remus pointed out.
“Oh Moony, are we overworking you?”
“I’ll manage”
James bursted through the door, “What’s up-”
“We are on live so whatever you were going to say, don’t”, Remus warned. James walked to the bed and as he saw the laptop he squeezed himself to the bed to sit with the two of them.
“Hey guys!” he waved to the camera.
“We already introduced ourselves ‘cause apparently there’s a lot of new followers”, Sirius said and rested his legs over Remus lap, feet brushing James’ thighs.
“Got it”, James and winked. “Hello everyone. My name is James Fleamont Potter, but feel free to just use James. I’m sixteen and… what else did you guys tell”
“Just where we are from, figured we should wait for you and Pete”, Remus said.
“Born and raised in London”
“You could have just said you’re from London”, Remus said and shook his head.
“Okay mister Wales, who spit on your tea today?”
“Don’t let him start please!” Sirius interrupted before Remus could even start his earlier story again. James leaned forward to see him from the other side of Remus.
“Hmm?”
“Marie was a bitch”, Remus explained.
“Ah, so she did”, James nodded his head. “Got it. So what are we doing today?”
“We figured we could answer some questions. Any idea where Pete is?”
“Common room, playing chess”
Remus moved Sirius’ legs away and climbed over James.
“Jesus Christ Moony you just gave our whole livestream a front row show of your ass”, Sirius said as Remus was standing next to the bed.
“Bet you’re jealous”, he smirked. “I’ll get Pete”, and then he disappeared to the stairs. Sirius crossed his arms over his chest and huffed. “I’m not”
James laughed and squinted at the screen. “They’re saying you should be”, he sniggered. “How are you guys, Olivia asks. Well Olivia I, personally, am good. The exams are coming up so maybe a tiny bit stressed. Otherwise good”
Sirius, long forgotten his pouting, nodded his head. “Yeah yeah, same. I mean such a basic fucking answer. No one actually believes when someone says they’re good. But honestly nothing much. Excited for the holidays, for the break from school. Not excited for the exams, but what can you do”
“Uhh study?”
Sirius waved his hand in front of James face, “Shush, Potter”
“Found him”, Remus announced and walked to the room with Peter behind him. “I think we should move somewhere else. We can’t really fit on the bed in a way that everyone can be seen”, so that’s why Sirius took the laptop and moved it to the edge of the bed while the four of them settled on the floor.
“I need a pillow!” Sirius said just as he was about to sit down. He walked to the other side of the bed to take a pillow from Remus’ bed.
“Really?”
“I don’t want to get mine dirty”, Sirius explained and sat next to him, wrapping his arm around his and interviewing their fingers together.
“Okay so Pete, we have all already introduced ourselves and then Olivia asked how we are. So you and Remus need to answer that one too”
Peter nodded, “Hi guys my name is Peter Pettigrew. I’m sixteen from London or well Dartford. I’m pretty good at the moment, kinda hungry. In general stressed because of the exams, but I’ll survive hopefully”
“You will”, Remus reassured. “I’m tired.”
“That’s it?” Sirius asked. “Come on sweetheart, give us something”
Remus struggled, “Well not really stressed, I have already started studying for the exams. Waiting for the break from school so I can get back home and get some rest from these three”
“Hey!” the three of them all said and Remus bursted out laughing.
“A joke guys, a joke. But yeah excited to see my parents”
“Excited to come to London with us after Christmas, right?” Sirius asked and pressed his face close to Remus’ who smiled. “Hmm. Can’t wait” he said and brushed some of Sirius' hair behind his ear.
“You’re going to break the internet if you guys keep going”, James warned as the comment section filled with different heart emojis. “Did you guys know each other before school? I’m just now realising how little we have told of ourselves before this. But no we didn’t.”
“We met six years ago when we all started here in Hogwarts”, Peter explained. “We ended up on the same dorm”
“Damn right we did!” Sirius said.
“Is Sirius older than the other three of you?” James read from the screen and nodded.
“That’s right. I was born in November, but you start here in Hogwarts the year when you’re eleven in August. It’s kinda weird, but because I was born late in the year I started later because I wasn’t eleven yet when I was supposed to, wait well not supposed but like..”, he thought about it. “It’s hard to explain”, he said.
“No I think they got it”, James said and gave him a thumbs up. “Ohh personal, Are you single”
“Only me”, Pete said and raised his hand, cheeks a bit red. James wrapped his arm around his shoulders. “Aw mate, it's okay. Your time will come”
“Yeah I guess”, he said. “Okay next one”
“Hmm let's see, what’s the best prank you guys have ever done?”
They all seemed to think about it. Remus was the first one to come up with an answer.
“I don’t know if it’s the best one, but when we dyed the Slytherin football team’s uniforms red before the game against us”
They all started laughing.
“Oh that was a good one!” Sirius said through laughter. “The time when we set the dining halls clock half an hour ahead was a pretty good one too”
The other boys hummed and nodded their heads as they tried to stop laughing.
“Oh there’s a good one”, Peter said and scrolled up on the comment section to find the one he had read as it had already disappeared as more comments flooded in. “Do you guys make a video of all your pranks?”
“No”, Remus said. “We usually only film the big one’s and only upload them if we get caught”
“And as you can see from our channel we get caught pretty often”, James chuckled. “Yeah, but nowadays people pretty much automatically know it's us. Especially if it’s something big”, Sirius explained.
“How often are we in detention”
Sirius and James looked at each other with matching grins on their faces. “Well pretty much”
“Yeah, like if there’s a month with less than five detentions then it’s a miracle”, James agreed.
“Usually like two to four times, if not less”, Remus in turn said.
Sirius rolled his eyes and poked Remus’ side. “But that’s because all the teacher think you’re so innocent”
“No, it’s because I don’t do anything idiotic except the pranks”, he said and poked Sirius back.
“I don’t keep a list”, Peter simply said. “More than I should”
He and James fist bumped, “Good answer mate”
James scrolled through the comments for a while, trying to look for questions. “Half of these are literally about Remus and Sirius”
Sirius dramatically gasped and ducked forward to see the comments better.
“Who wears the pants in your relationship”, he read and glanced at Remus who looked back. “You mean trousers? Most of the time we both are wearing trousers. Though! I borrowed Marls skirt last Halloween and I looked sexy as fuck”
“Of course I have pictures!” Sirius said as he read the comments and went looking for his phone. Pete and James looked as Sirius tried to find his phone from his bed, with no luck. He turned around his hands on his hips.
“He loses his phone like five times in an hour”, James explained to the livestream.
“Rem-”
“On the floor next to my cup, love”, Remus said without looking.
Sirius looked down and next to his feet was in fact his phone. “Thanks, Moons'', then he walked back to his spot while scrolling through his camera roll. “It’s somewhere here”, he muttered.
“Found it!” he yelled and turned his phone to the screen. He looked as comments started flowing in more. “See, hot as fuck”
“Okay next one”, Remus said and pulled Sirius back from his wrist. “Let’s see, oh okay”, he
Said and smirked. “James, you said you’re not single so who are you dating?”
“No”, was all Sirius said. James looked at his best friend before looking back at the laptop.
“I’m dating Regulus Black from year below”
“As in my baby brother!” Sirius yelped. “I always thought it was bros before hoes, but apparently it’s younger siblings and then bros and then hoes”
Remus sighed the same time Peter covered his mouth with his hand to mumble the laughter.
“We have talked about this Sirius”, Remus warned. “And it’s already been a year too”, James pointed out.
“Are you homophobic?” Peter read from the comments through his laughter.
“How would that make sense?” Sirius asked and shook his head. “I mean this way I atleast know Reggie isn’t dating some wanker, but out of all the people”, he took the laptop from the bed and moved it closer to his face. “Out of all the people, did it have to be my best friend, Regulus?”
Not even five seconds later a new comment came in.
reggie.a.black: “yes.”
“Oh my fucking god he’s in the comment section, Remus he’s in the comment section!” Sirius screamed and pushed the laptop away and pretty much climbed on Remus’ lap. James perked up from his seat and took the laptop.
“Oh hi Reggie, enjoying the live?”
reggie.a.black: “no.”
“He is a bit grumpy one”, James said to the screen and put it back to the place it had been a minute ago.
“Okay, but like jokes aside”, Sirius said from where he was clinging to Remus like a koala. “I am supportive of the two of them, yes it was a shock at first. But you know if they’re happy I’m happy”
“Thanks mate”, James said the same time Regulus commented ew.
“Is Sirius clingy?” Remus read as his hair was being ruffled by none other than Sirius. “Take three fucking guesses”
“Oh you love it”, Sirius said and took a hold of his cheeks to press a quick kiss to his nose. “I love it when I can do that”, he muttered and pressed their foreheads together.
“If you ever wonder if it feels like you’re third wheeling with the two of them the answer is yes”, James said to the laptop and jokingly turned it away from the two of them. The comment section filled with comments like “omg cute” and “i’m jealous”.
“You’d think they’d calm down after like the first year, but no”, Pete said.
“Okay we got it you guys are miserable”, Sirius said from off screen where he was now sitting on the floor again. “But like let me love my boyfriend if I want to”
“Take your time”, Pete said and looked for more questions. “Are they always like that? Not always no. Is it weird that two people from your friendgroup are dating each other? No we don’t care”, Peter grinned. “Give us some interesting questions guys!”
James moved the laptop back so that all of them could be seen. “I think these two should make their own livestream sometime. Can you make a video with Regulus? Oh that would be fun”
“Hey how about this”, Remus said. “You guys should tell us what kinda videos you would like to see from us”
“A good one, Moony!” Pete commented.
“Challenges, more pranks, oh a vlog”, James read and hummed. “That would be interesting, not necessarily something we usually do, but maybe some change here would be good?”
“Absolutely!” Sirius said. “We should do one of those who can do something the longest wins challenges. It would be fun”
“Oh yeah I have seen those”, James said and glanced at the time from his phone. “Well look at that it’s almost ten. One more question and then we are off, I have a practise in the morning”
They all tried to look for the best comment they could find.
“Oh” Remus said. “Okay this is a deep one, but also a good one. What’s the best thing that has happened to you? Thank you for the question Lucas”
They were all quiet trying to think for their answers.
“Getting me and Reggie away from the house we had to call home for fifteen years”, Sirius said quietly. They all looked at him and Remus pulled him to his side from the waist.
“Honestly getting to know the three of you”, Remus said next. “I don’t really have friends back at home, so I was pretty much lonely the first eleven years of my life. Getting here changed my life.”
“Dammit I was going to say that too”, Pete cursed. “Let me think some more”
“I think we can all say this friendgroup was one of the best things to happen to all of us”, James said and all the others nodded. “But I’ll say mine is Regulus, sorry Sirius”, he chuckled and Sirius chuckled too. “Sounds sappy but he had taught me a lot of things about myself and in general the past year that I’ll forever be grateful”
reggie.a.black: “love you jamie”
James smiled, “Love you too”
“Ew”, Sirius said quietly through his smile.
“This may sound wrong, but that my parents broke up”, Pete said quietly. “But it just was such a relief. I love my parents, but together they just didn’t work and it was awful being home back when they were together. I feel like I was so anxious all the time, like I couldn’t breath”
James squished his shoulder. “Oh how I love you guys”
“A group hug!” Sirius announced and pulled them all to a hug. The comment section filled with heart emojis behind their backs.
“That got really deep”, Remus muttered from where his face was pressed to Pete’s shoulder. They all laughed.
“Okay maybe it’s time to end this livestream”, James said as they pulled away. “Thanks for watching guys!”
“We will see you soon”, Pete said.
“Yeah I promise that”, Remus said.
“Take care!” Sirius said as he ended the livestream.
