Chapter 5
Lorcan flew next to his ieiu with a bright smile on his face. This was one of his favorite things to do, besides talk to his mom about quantum mechanics or go on patrol with Ruby, and his all time favorite, hanging out with Olivia. Olivia was like his yellow sun, she gives him strength when he needs it, she empowers him when he feels weak, she is someone who lights up his whole world and he relies on her when things get tough. He doesn't want to sound cheesy or anything, but he's sure he'd been in love with her from the first moment they'd met as babies. His ieiu used to joke that every time that she and Oliver would team up or just simply hang out, that they'd have to bring both Lorcan and Olivia along to have a playdate or they'd cry continuously when they figured out that they could have visited one another and yet were denied that opportunity. It goes to say that even as babies they seemed quite attached to one another.
They'd also cry if their parents tried to split them up when they had to leave to go back home.
Safe to say that there were a lot sleepovers because of this.
Reunions between superhero teams was always quite fun.
No offense to the Young Justice team or the Teen Titans, and then simply just the Titans, but Lorcan had never been the best team player, not that he wasn't kind or receptive of team-ups but he'd never joined an official hero team.
He was more of a consultant to the hero teams. He wasn't like Conner or Jonathan who slotted into the hero teams easily.
He also didn't do well with any authority figures besides his immediate family members, and he hated being dictated on what missions he could and could not do.
So obviously he preferred simply keeping his hero work done with his family members.
Olivia was much the same. That's why they patrolled together so often, and Ruby was the one to help supervise them and help when needed.
As they landed inside of his ieiu apartment, he tapped the button to turn his suit back into his led-lined glasses.
Lena looked towards her son with wide eyes as she saw this happen.
"Were those nanites?" Lena asked her son. It was still insane for her to think that she had a son, and apparently two daughters too. Three kids! She didn't ever believe that she would have children one day.
She had just never seen that in her thoughts of the future.
She never expected to be married to her best friend either, even though she's had a crush on her for so long.
"Yes, even though it takes literally 0.00001 seconds for us Kryptonians to change into our super suits, having to always wear them under our clothes was a hazard given that if our shirts ripped, we'd be screwed, and seeing as pretty much all of us wear button-ups for convenience, you made nanite glasses. Though Aunt Sam's come from a her ruby necklace that she always wears." Lorcan answered his mom.
Lena looked as if he had just given her the best gift for mother's day.
Though it was notoriously hard to shop for his mom, especially near holidays that you give gifts for, Lorcan had discovered early on in his life that his mom didn't care for monetary gifts, she much preferred simple home-made gifts like drawings, hand crafts, and this one year her made her this coupon book, filled with silly things like one free snuggle, or he'd do the dishes when it was her turn (because she hated doing the dishes) or even a free massage, because a Kryptonian massage is the best massage as his mom likes to say.
"So, am I—" his mom started to say, but before she even finished Lorcan already answered her question, as if he knew exactly what she was going to ask.
And he did, he could see the brief flash of pain and curiosity behind her eyes and took an educated guess.
"You're an amazing mom. You're there for every single mathletes contest, every chess tournament, every field trip, every birthday, every holiday, you were even there for my kindergarten graduation, and you take time out of your busy schedule to help out with homework, or watch a movie, or simply cuddle with me because I've had a bad day." Lorcan reassured her.
Lena gave her son a watery smile and took him in her arms, clutching onto him like her life depended on it.
She still worried that she could've somehow messed up when parenting her future children, that was an insecurity that would take time to go away, but hearing just how different she already sounded from Lilian, she was already feeling better.
Seeing as Lilian hardly took time out of her busy schedule to do any of those things for Lena, and on occasion even Lex was pushed aside when work duties came up.
Kara simply smiled as she came out of her 'room' after changing out of her super suit.
She had given them time to talk seeing as it had looked like Lena had needed it.
Once the three sat down on the couch, Lorcan gave them a smile.
He knew that their memories had to be erased, so he didn't bother with trying to hide anything from them.
They could also allow his mom to keep the nanite idea, seeing as the Legends have a machine (like their flash gun that erased memories) that erased only certain memories.
You have to type what memories you'd want to erase, then they could keep the other memories.
"So, tell us about yourself." Kara said with a smile. She wanted to know everything about her future son.
"Well, my favorite color is green. Specifically emerald green. My favorite bird is the canary. I have two younger sisters who I adore, they're seven and two so we're all about five or so years apart. My favorite cousin has to be Ruby, my favorite person in the galaxy has to be Olivia. Don't tell Aunt Alex, but my favorite aunt has to be aunt Lucy. My favorite food is Pot stickers. Um, what else do you want to know?" Lorcan asked as he rambled through the obvious questions.
All Kara could think to ask was "Who's Olivia?"
Lorcan blinked before a goofy smile seemed to appear on his face. One he shared with his ieiu.
Lena felt like she knew what this Olivia girl meant to her son, because Kara has looked at her with that same smile before, multiple times in fact.
"Olivia Lance-Queen. She's the daughter of Uncle Ollie and Aunt Laurel. She's a few days older than me and she is absolutely the best person in the world. Like my own personal yellow sun." Lorcan said wistfully.
He really was missing her right about now.
He wondered if she was missing him as much as he was missing her?
Kara smiled to herself, her little boy was in love! But Lena was frowning, she had just met the boy and already she was feeling protective of him. She didn't like the idea of her son dating and she'd only known him for a few hours!
She wondered what her future self was feeling when she learnt of his affections for this... girl.
...
Earth Prime
For some weird reason Kara felt all gooey inside and Lena felt a pang of deep-rooted denial and an urge to maim someone out of nowhere.
They shook those thoughts off and continued working on a way to locate their son and being him home, right where he belongs.
