Chapter 1
2033, National City (Earth Prime aka the combined Earth of Earth 38 and Earth 1)
Lorcan Luthor-Danvers was a simply boy, with an ordinary life. Well, ordinary to him at least.
To the outside world, he's the son of the CEO of L-Corp and CatCo Magazine , and the Editor and Chief of CatCo World-wide Magazine.
But, to anyone who knew the Luthor-Danvers family, they knew that Kara Danvers was the heroine known as Supergirl, and that Lena Luthor was the technology and Magical expert for the Superfriends.
Lorcan was the very first of his kind, a Kryptonian/wizard hybrid. Getting rid of the magic weakness that all Kryptonians seemed to have.
He was powerful according to his parents, and with that power came a lot of responsibility and training in order to control the power that he had.
Krypton Knight, his hero name, one he had carefully chosen after many nights of writing hero names down and scratching them out. He'd thought of taking the mantle of Superboy up, like his cousins Conner and Jonathan had, but that just wasn't him.
They were the children of Superman. Therefore, they were known as the Superboy's.
Similar to how all the Bat clan had gone by Robin (this included Stephanie Brown for a short while before she took on the female mantle of Bat Girl) before they'd chosen their own unique name that felt right to them. It was a right of passage.
But, Lorcan wasn't just a Kryptonian, and he didn't want to be Superboy number 3.
So he had stayed up for nights on end just trying to find a name that suited him.
He was a Kryptonian and a wizard. Both the Danvers and Luthor blood ran through his veins.
He wanted something that still honored his house of El family, and also something that was similar to his other family members who were heroes, like his aunt Alex who was Sentinel, and his aunt Kelly who was Guardian, and his aunt Sam who had received the name Power Girl by Cat Grant once she'd chosen to stay in National City after a brief stint on vacation with Ruby to get over the trauma of being Reign and almost killing Supergirl.
So he's thought of what he wanted to stand for. His cousin Clark and the Superboy's stood for Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
And he had followed his ieiu's (pronounced yay-you/yeyu) ideology and decided that he too would stand for Hope, Help, and Compassion for All.
And he needed a name that would inspire that hope that his ieiu's hero name Supergirl inspired in people when they heard it.
So he chose Krypton Knight, a little play on words. Seeing as Kryptonite was something that hurt a Kryptonian. He wanted to show the world that his supposed greatest weakness, can become his greatest strength, well, metaphorically at the very least.
When he told his parents the name he'd chosen, they'd been so proud that he'd branches out, that he didn't fold into the pressure of choosing a name that was already used like people had expected him to do.
That he was making a name for himself, a legacy that was just his.
Not comparable to someone's before his.
...
Lorcan groaned as he dodged another breach, he was currently fighting one of his most annoying rogues, one that was accurately named Portal, a man who liked to randomly open portals and screw up people's lives just for the fun of it.
Lorcan isn't going to lie, he'd gotten caught up in a few of those portals before, and he isn't going to say that it was fun.
Being sent to the middle of a volcano wasn't fun at all.
Lorcan immediately rushed towards Portal, hoping for a quick take down, which is what generally has to happen when you take on someone who could portal you to anywhere in the multiverse.
Lorcan was suddenly hit with a large blast of Kryptonite ironically.
He immediately fell from the sky groaning as the familiar green lines lit up on his body.
Kryptonite was some of, if not the worst pain that a Kryptonian could ever experience.
His body immediately started to wrack with shivers as he groaned in misery.
"Krypton Knight, are you alright? Your vitals just spiked dangerously." The familiar voice of his uncle Brainy asked through his coms link.
"Hurts." Is all Lorcan could get out as he struggled to stand up.
"Hold on K, I'm on my way." Lorcan heard his ieiu say through his coms.
He prayed that she made it quickly, because Portal was grinning like a loon as he held the sci-fi looking gun towards him again, and the familiar green ray shot out of it viciously smacking the young hero in the chest once again, forcing the boy into a fetal position.
He heard his ieiu flying towards the battlefield that Portal and he were on, when the familiar breach started to form under him.
"No! Krypton Knight!" He heard his mother scream as he fell through the breach just before she knocked out a laughing Portal.
She flew towards the quickly closing breach and just missed Lorcan's outreached hand as the breach closed.
"NO!" Supergirl yelled angrily just as Power Girl arrived on the scene.
"Supergirl, what happened? Where's Krypton Knight?" Power Girl asked as she skidded to a stop right beside the red and blue clad heroine.
"He's gone." Supergirl whimpered.
"Supergirl?" Power Girl asked, alarm clear in her voice.
But Kara didn't answer. She had just watched her son, her baby boy, get dragged into a breach to who knows where, completely injured and vulnerable.
Tears started to stream down her face, much to the alarm of Sam, who immediately picked the distraught Supergirl up, and flew off at high speeds towards the Lighthouse.
...
As Kara and Sam arrived at the Lighthouse, they hit the emergency button that would alert the Superfriends to come to the base.
Given that Brainy was already there, he immediately walked into the room and sat down on the couch.
The boom tube lit up, and Alex, followed closely by Kelly, Ruby, Esme, J'onn stepped out of the tube.
It took maybe another minute for the boom tube to light up once again and Lena stepped out of the Boom Tube holding the seven year old Alura's hand, and the two year old Elizabeth in her arms.
She looked around the room and Kara immediately knew just who she was looking for.
Lorcan was their first child, their baby boy, their only boy for that matter. So he has a special place in both of their hearts. They loved all three of their children equally, of course they did, but they worried for Lorcan the most.
Not only was he extremely powerful, but he had taken up quite a lot of Kara's personality traits, including his naiveness much to Lena's eternal worry.
So not seeing him in the room sent immediate danger signs to Lena's brain.
Her first immediate question was "where's Lorcan?" And by Rao did it hurt Kara's heart to have to give her this news.
"He's gone." Was all Kara could get out.
Sam who had set Kara down, but was still holding most of the girl of steel's weight up, took the chance to explain before anyone got the wrong idea.
"Lorcan was doing his usual patrol, when he came across Portal, from what I got out of Kara before she started crying, was that Lorcan had been hit by a large bolt of Kryptonite twice to the chest and was down for the count. Portal opened a breach underneath him, and he was sucked into it before Kara could grab him. The breach closed before Kara could follow. We have no idea where he was taken. Usually by now, he would've been back, but with all of the kryptonite in his system, who knows what could've happened to him." Sam said sadly.
Lena had to be caught by J'onn as her knees started to give out.
Nia quickly took Elizabeth from her arms, and Brainy picked Alura up and then the two heroes took the two younger kids out of the room so that everyone else could come up with a game plan without the added distraction of a young kid and a toddler.
"I should've been with him." Ruby said angrily as she kicked a chair.
It sailed across the room and broke apart against the wall.
"Hey, you couldn't have known Rubes." Alex said trying to reassure her oldest daughter.
"But I was supposed to be there! And I bailed because I wanted to go to the mall with my friends. He's my cousin and I should've been there." Ruby said as she started to cry.
Kelly immediately pulled her into her arms to try and reassure the girl that it wasn't her fault and that there was nothing she could've done.
Ruby and Lorcan had a special bond with one another, Lorcan had always looked up to Ruby, not only as his cousin, but also as a hero.
Ruby was only a fourth Kryptonian, and she wasn't as powerful as her mom, or as the Superboy's were, but she was still an amazing hero, and had taken up the moniker of Argo Girl, similar to how Lorcan had chosen his name of Krypton Knight, Ruby had chosen a name that would connect her to her family's heritage.
The two were known for patrolling with one another, and always keeping one another safe. The almost 28 year old was very protective of her younger cousin, Esme grabbed her older sister's hand and gave it a light squeeze.
Whilst she and Lorcan were closer in age, seeing as she was only just turning 20, and he was 13, they didn't have the close bond that he and Ruby seemed to share. But they were pretty close as well.
This was hitting her very hard.
Sam moved Kara to the couch that Lena was sat on, and the rest of the Superfriends watched as the two lovers embraced one another fiercely, fighting to keep their sons at bay.
"Don't worry, we'll find him Lee. No matter how long it takes. Even if I have to get every hero available to help search for him. I'll bring our boy home." Kara promised her wife.
Determination audible in her sad voice. She had to be strong for Lena, she could break down later, when she was alone, or when she found her baby boy, but for now, they needed a game plan.
...
2015 Earth 38 (somewhere in-between the end of s3 and before S4)
A breach opened in the middle of the sky over a grassy area (think of the area Barry ran Kara to during season 1 episode 18 of Supergirl) and a body hurdled towards the ground at a fast pace, a giant boom sounded as Lorcan's body collided with the ground.
A crater formed as the boy groaned in pain, instantly blacking out.
...
"Supergirl, there's been a breach opened West of you. Can you check it out?" Alex said through Kara's coms.
"Yeah, I'll go see if it's Barry or the Legends." Kara said as she flew towards the coordinates that Alex had given her.
It wasn't unusual for Barry to need her help, or for the legends to visit Earth 38 for fun every once in awhile.
And although it was unlikely, it could even be Oliver, he's only visited Earth 38 once, but the possibility was still there.
As she landed a few feet from the crater, she leaned over it and gasped at what she saw.
For there, laying in the crater was a blond haired boy, somewhere in his early teenage years, proudly wearing the house of El insignia on his chest.
Kara floated down into the crater, trying to get a closer look at the boy, and gasping as she saw the familiar green lines running from his chest up to his face and down his arms.
Kara immediately picked the boy up bridal style, wincing when she was rewarded with a shallow and breathy groan, and she flew towards the DEO.
Wondering just who this boy was, why he was hurt, and just how he was associated with her family seeing as she'd never seen him before in her life and yet she felt this strange but immediate connection to him, as if she should know who he was.
All she has were questions, ones she was hoping this boy could answer.
